Motorcycles of the future. Top Ten Most Interesting Motorcycle Concepts Motorcycles of the Future

30.07.2019

Spring is the time when tales appear on the roads like snowdrops in the forest. We have collected 10 of the most unusual motorcycles. Some of them are still at the level, others are already real projects. But all of them are the dream of motorcycle fans.

Traverston V-Rex

Banana bike V-Rex from developers from the company Travertson Motorcycles appeared on American market relatively recently and surprised even connoisseurs and bikers spoiled by the "stuffing" iron horses. Transmission and motor borrowed from Harley-Davidson V-Rod. Engine power 125 Horse power.

Honda Rune

The Honda Rune motorcycle is a prime example of how a design fantasy has been reborn into a high-performance machine. The power of the Japanese Rune is 106 horsepower.

Suzuki Biplane

Suzuki Biplane - a combination of innovative technical solutions and extravagant design. The developers claim that the style of their offspring echoes the biplanes of the era of the formation of aviation.

Concept by Mikhail Smolyanov

There are dozens of motorcycle concepts. But the render, shown by Moscow-based designer Mikhail Smolyanov, has an unusual level of style and imagination. The GL1-m concept was created by order of Russian Alexander Bushuev, who soon wants to turn the bike into metal.

Dodge Tomahawk

Motorcycle Dodge Tomahawk - the most fast bike in the world. The engine with a capacity of 500 horsepower allows you to accelerate to 675 km / h. The development of the motorcycle cost $ 100 million. A total of 10 Tomahawks were assembled (all bikes are assembled by hand), and all of them were sold at a price of $ 550 thousand.

Hamann Soltador Cruiser

Hamann Soltador Cruiser is a bike created in best traditions German design school. The bike has a 160 horsepower motor.

Hyanide

The concept of the Hyanide snowmobile, created by German designers, combined all kinds of Vehicle. Thanks to this, this tracked bike can be ridden on mud, snow, sand and any terrain.

Detonator Motors

Detonator Motors is a unique concept that was called "a space bike for humanoids" at the presentation.

Hyundai Concept Motorcycle

The creators of the Hyundai Concept Motorcycle tried to make it as aerodynamic as possible and equipped it with a semi-closed fairing, shifting the balance to the front wheel. Because of this, the motorcycle looks "slanted forward".

Evolve Xenon

It may sound like science fiction, but this electric bike is available to buy now. True, such an acquisition will cost $ 55,000. But you can save on fuel.

For not a single Harley. In the world of motorcycles, not everything is decided by bearded guys from Orange County choppers. It is enough to look at some of the photos to understand: the motor world is developing faster than nanotechnology in Skolkovo.

Flying Motorcycle Hover Bike

Two-wheeled transport is gradually being transformed into a two-engine one. It seems that in the future on the roads there will be hybrids of a motorcycle and a helicopter - fortunately, a start has already been made. Judge for yourself: carbon fiber chassis, 1170 cc engine. cm, Tasmanian oak propellers with carbon edge, maximum takeoff weight - 595 pounds, maximum speed like a real helicopter - 172 miles per hour! Service ceiling - 10,000 feet. This bike is currently under development. technical improvement and it is quite possible that it will go into production soon. Like all ingenious creations, the first prototype of a flying motorcycle was built by one person in his own garage. The process took two and a half years, because the designer and author of the idea, Chris Malloy, was engaged in assembling a motorcycle in his spare time, after work and study. The cost of building the first prototype was $1,100,000.

This motorcycle is built by the German Motorcycle Authority. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that instead of one engine, it has two Harley-Davidson / S &, S Evolution Series engines with a volume of 1.35 liters and a capacity of 80 horsepower each. Design features allow the rider to lie on the motorcycle almost horizontally. The author of the idea and creator of the motorcycle, Christoph Madaus, did all the work by hand to create an aluminum frame for this two-wheeled teleporter of the future. To top it off, installed loud forward flow Supertrap. The construction of the first TwinTrax prototype required 12 years of painstaking work and was carried out from 1995 to 2007.

Conceptual hybrid motorcycle, created by Igor Chak. The bike is absolutely not like those usual soviet motorcycles brands "IZH", which plow the expanses of our vast Motherland, sneezing gray smoke. And that's why. 140 horsepower V-Twin engine, dual airbags, video cameras and on-board computer, 3D LCD screen, real-time GPS navigation, wireless connectivity mobile gadgets. I would like to see -171, IZH-187, look like this in the future. In addition to the IZH -1 motorcycle, the designer came up with something else interesting ...

Honda CB-750 Concept

Well, who would have thought that the Honda CB, which has become very popular among bikers, would ever look so amazing? The author is the same Igor Chak.

Ostoure Superbike Concept

If this motorcycle is started in mass production, it will revolutionize the world of moto. Ostoure is translated from Persian as "Legend". Designer Mohammad Shohaye presented the concept to the world all-wheel drive motorcycle, With unique technology transmission of torque to both wheels, which in itself is a big plus if at least one such motorcycle someday gets into Russia in the foreseeable future. The helmet will be equipped with a system for projecting information onto the visor glass and speakers connected to the motorcycle control system using Bluetooth technology. For comfortable ride air conditioning is to be installed.

Core Concept Motorcycle

Just like for the Confederate Fighter, in order to reduce the weight of this motorcycle, the designers used a minimalistic and lightweight aluminum frame, which allows you to see in detail what and how the bike is assembled. In particular, a two-cylinder is presented in all its glory. V-engine 1731 cc A very futuristic device, assembled somewhere at the intersection of the designs of classic choppers and concept bikes of the future.

BMW Motorrad Concept 6

The Bavarians apparently decided to remember the good old days when inline six M50 dictated trends in engine building. True, this engine was put on cars ... This ultra-futuristic concept bike from BMW is equipped with an in-line six-cylinder engine volume of 1.6 liters, which already at 2000 rpm produces a torque of 96 ft / ft. Attracts attention very beautiful exhaust system in the form of three nozzles, reminiscent of either the symbols of BMW Motorsport, or the diffusers of the BMW S1000 RR.

Audi RB-1200S Concept

Designer Gavin Harvey inspired modern models Audi cars and decided to create something similar on two wheels - dynamic and ultra-modern. Even the headlight is very similar to the headlight LED optics Audi R8. At the same time, this project is purely amateur and has no official relation to Audi.

Modenas Biofuel Concept Bike

This motorcycle, as conceived by the authors, should run on biofuels made from palm oil. Designer Imran Othman rewarded the motorcycle with expressive and aggressive lines - you certainly won’t think that this is an environmentally friendly vehicle! So far, only a project.

This project was designed and drawn by Mikael Lugnegard. Currently, the visual model of a motorcycle is used as an exercise for visual effects creators. So far, it exists only as a sketch on paper.

Kvant snow bike concept

Designed by Patrik Petersson specifically for residents of snowy areas. Instead of front wheel this motorcycle has a ski, and rear wheel bears a strong resemblance to the caterpillar of a snowmobile. Passable, maneuverable and fairly stable unit, apparently. The wind in the mug, and I'm spitting! I wonder how to ride it around Verkhoyansk at -52 degrees Celsius?

Ferrari Concept Motorcycle

ZecOO electric motorcycle

Aggressive, sporty and very futuristic design. Accelerates up to 75 miles per hour - not bad for an electric bike. On one fully charged can travel up to 85 kilometers, after which you will need to find an outlet and connect the motorcycle to it using a retractable wire - just like a vacuum cleaner! For long trips, maybe not the most convenient option, but a very beautiful car.

And this costume with a motor is absolutely amazing. Carlson is back! Jake Loniak, the author of the idea, was still in college at the time of the project development, but the future of the young designer, apparently, promises to be bright and interesting. In fact, this is an exoskeleton on wheels that perceives the commands of a person, reacting to his movements. On high speeds the motorcycle leans forward slightly to reduce air resistance. In the future, a picture is seen: he arrived at work, “took off” his suit ... The boss in atase! And you are like this, calmly: “Can I put your suit here for a while?”

Motorcycle of the future. I personally liked this one.

Motorcycle of the future. About what awaits motorcyclists in the distant future, say, in 40 years. are thinking now.

Motorcycle of the future. Two well-known designers, Miguel Koto and Yuji Fujimura, from opposite ends of the planet, almost simultaneously proposed their vision of the future in terms of motorcycles.

Motorcycle of the future. But, according to the Japanese designer, concern Yamaha, always at the forefront of progress, will venture a completely new form factor.

This is how experts and artists see a two-wheeled projectile (otherwise you can’t call a vehicle that develops under 400 km / h) flying over the roads in 2056:

1, Air brakes - as in aircraft: hydraulic cylinder with hard braking at speeds above 200 km / h pushes a special aileron.

2. The muffler is located under the saddle. Hydrogen fuel will cause pops, like from a child's scarecrow, and the exhaust gases will resemble steam from the spout of a kettle.

Motorcycle of the future. Hyundai Concept Motorcycle Stretches. Designer: Min Seong Kim

3. V-twin two stroke engine on hydrogen fuel will be environmentally friendly and do not need water cooling.

4. Its power is 183 hp. will be sufficient to accelerate the motorcycle to 382 km / h.

5. In addition, a container of fuel.

6. Electronic suspension, common on sportbikes, allows you to "read" the road and automatically adjust to it.

Motorcycle of the future. Miguel Coto, as a fan of classic Harleys, created the 2020 Harley Davidson Concept. Of course, the conservative brand will try to stay within the boundaries of conventional concepts, and at least keep the motorcycle position.

Motorcycle of the future. And although Harley Davidson is also not without innovation (wheels without hubs, a steering wheel mounted inside the front wheel, diode headlight), Yamaha is basically just one wheel!

7. Double cantilever rear wheel swingarm.

8. Hydraulic drive both wheels will get rid of the gearbox.

9. One brake disk, mounted on a rim, will only be used on sports and off-road motorcycles. On all others, starting from 2025, the hydraulic drive of the wheels will perform the functions of the brake system.

10. Outlets will be the same. like four-stroke motors, the role of resonant chambers will be performed by various chambers in the engine itself.

11. Equipment - the only thing that will remain almost unchanged: a speedometer, a tachometer, and even an indicator of the degree of poverty of the mixture. Will it all come true? If we live, we will see, but in general, the speed of technological development in many ways exceeds our wildest fantasies ...

While motorists are freaking out in traffic jams, a parallel reality quietly exists nearby - the world of motorcycles. Those who do not belong to this world rarely think about its future. But motorcycles are much more likely to become the number one transport in a few decades - even now a compact, maneuverable and lightweight “bike” is much more technologically advanced, cheaper and more convenient in the city crowd than a car.

BMW HP Kunst. This is how a team of French students saw a new generation of BMW bikes - the focus the latest technologies combining pragmatism and sportiness.

While the motorist is carrying a huge heavy metal cage filled with air, the motorcyclist is carrying by and large, only yourself and, as a maximum, your pretty girlfriend. That is why it is much easier to make a technological breakthrough in motor technology, including in terms of transferring vehicles to electricity - you can get by with more compact batteries or fuel cells and not so powerful electric motor, the power-to-weight ratio will still be at the level. In this selection, we have abandoned any unicycles, trikes and other wheeled and caterpillar "near motorcycles" so as not to get bogged down in the abyss of design madness forever. Only two wheels, only hardcore!

2012 Izh. The work is dated 2010, and numerical index talked about a possible launch in a series in 2 years. Includes: Object Tracking Radar, Headlights, Traction Control, ABS, Night View Camera, Smartphone Integration, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 4G, GPS and two Airbags!

A striking example of a motorcycle of a probable future - presented in the first block photo bmw HP Kunst. Four French design students, Arik Schwarz, Benoît Kzi, Charles Edouard Berch and Vincent Montreil, were able to interest the management of BMW Motorrad with their concept. And the Russian Igor Shak, who lives in Japan, drew a motorcycle of the future under the Izh brand - you must admit, BMW competitor it would be worth it! Izh has a hybrid power plant - an 850 cc V-twin plus a 60 kW electric motor powered by Li2S (lithium sulfide) batteries, which have a capacity four times greater than that of lithium-ion ones.

However, Igor Shak has more recent and interesting works. Here is the 2015 Molot - latest concept, which has a much more real chance of being embodied in metal than production at the Izhevsk plant: "Hammer" will be produced piece by piece under the CHAK MOTORS brand in St. Petersburg. And our next guest, Mikhail Smolyanov, lives and works in Moscow. Strictly speaking, he combines futurism, retro and steampunk in his works. But we will put it simply: Smolyanov's creations are designer porn. At the same time, many of his ideas have already been implemented in the form of quite viable "customs".

Once there was such a Soviet record car GL-1. In the new century, they decided to recreate the car in the form of a futuristic concept, and in addition to it, Smolyanov also drew a motorcycle.

Of course, the design of motorcycles is, first of all, not the lot of geeks and "homemade", but a huge branch of activity of any company producing motorcycles. BMW Motorrad, with which we started this story, is full of its own, in the sense of “non-student”, incredibly cool concepts. The Italian Aprilia rarely indulges with concepts, but very aptly. Even such seemingly retrogrades as Harley Davidson have great concept bikes! And don’t feed the designers of the Big Japanese Motorcycle Four with rice at all, let me draw something crazy. Here is a classic example - Honda V4.

Honda V4 was introduced back in 2008, supposedly equipped with a conventional 4-cylinder V-twin engine, but ... a motorcycle with wheels without spokes looks definitely cool.

American brands play in their own field, in their own genre, but it also turns out very effectively. Victory, controlled by the giant Polaris Industries, showed the concept cruiser Core. Enclosed in a stylish aluminum frame Gas engine with a volume of 1,731 cc, producing 97 hp. and 153 Nm. Add here the dry weight of the device at 212 kg and draw conclusions about its dynamics... There are chances that this beauty and power will become a serial product.

Victory Core, aka Victory Core. The look is perfectly complemented by branded Victory X-Factor wheels and built into the seat led turn signals and stop sign.

It happens that the fruits of the labor of "free artists" get to serial production. How can one not recall the famous Austrian Tim Cameron and his sensational bikes Traveston V-Rex and VR-2, now produced in the USA. We present you the third project of Cameron - CAF-E. The motorcycle has power plant, built according to the Toyota Synergy Drive principle - the internal combustion engine and the electric motor work in parallel, giving off exactly as much power as necessary at any given time.

The "parallel hybrid" concept CAF-E incorporates a bi-turbo 2-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor aggregated with a CVT.

Tim Cameron, motorcycle designer:

- Now more and more more people consider the motorcycle as a vehicle that saves on fuel. But if at the same time the emotional component does not suffer from powerful engine then this is definitely the future.

The author of the CAF-E project said this phrase, talking about his new job. Perhaps it should be considered the leitmotif of this entire publication. Indeed, there are more and more concept bikes that provide for a hybrid power plant. But some designers go further and completely abandon the engine internal combustion. So, for example, did Dan Anderson, a student from Australia, who drew Voltra. The most striking detail of this bike is the deliberate bend of the frame, which imitates a gas tank, which this bike simply does not need.

The Voltra electric motor is powered by the block lithium-ion batteries, hidden in a carbon body, and develops a torque of 129 Nm. The “maximum speed” of a 200-kilogram electric bike is 200 km / h, and the operating time on a single charge is at least 90 minutes.

Another cute electric bike is the Peugeot 515, the author of which, Simon Madella, another design student in our story, was inspired by the record-breaking Peugeot 515 motorcycle (yes, the name is borrowed outright) from the early 30s of the twentieth century. Simon says he wanted to create a motorcycle that was inspired by racing and that could break established records for speed, recharge time and reliability.

Risen from the dust of the Peugeot 515: the electric motor in the rear wheel, the battery in the base, as low as possible. Above it are wide ventilation windows, and below it is a plate with sensors that analyze road conditions.

In general, energy sources alternative to internal combustion engines are a hot topic for motorcycle developers. Let's say no one (well, almost no one) in sober mind dare not imagine a car running on... compressed air. But a motorcycle - please! Moreover, the conceptual Saline Bird is just one of many similar bikes, some of which are already embodied in metal. Although in the case of the "Salty Bird" it is rather about the embodiment in carbon fiber. The characteristics are not reported even indicative, but they really want to build this thing, so we will find out soon.

The Saline Bird motorcycle is based rather not even on a frame, but on a light hydrocarbon frame, which made it possible to reduce the weight of the structure and optimally place the rider. On site fuel tank- you can see for yourself.

If it seems to you that all these new technologies are still too far from reality, here is a couple more examples for you in the end, when a completely traditional “heart” that feeds on oil refinery products is enclosed in an absolutely incredible shell. The Icare motorcycle concept was born in the halls of reason (or insanity?) of the employees of the French design studio Enzyme Design.

Like straight out of mescaline trips, the Icare is powered by a 6 (six!)-cylinder 1800cc Honda engine.

And, of course, one cannot ignore the epic Snake Road, which was inspired by the Belgian Bruno Delussus in 2010, who developed the concepts of motorcycles for the movie Tron: Legacy. Designed in a similar futuristic style, but with a distinct retro touch, Snake Road has the usual gasoline engine, but everything else fiberglass splendor in a good way breaks the brain.

It's not very clear how the Snake Road turns, although the name plays on the winding road - the design of the tie rod remains unclear. But this, as they say, does not affect the speed. At least imaginary.

Look again at these images. The future is already knocking on the door of your metal cage on four wheels. It remains only to understand that it is absolutely not necessary to carry it with you - it is too expensive, too fragile, too cramped, too bulky and too pointless. Let it sit in the garage for a while.

PS: Such a riot of creative thought, as in a motorcycle theme, is not found in any other area of industrial design. Therefore, this collection is just a drop in the ocean. Perhaps it makes sense for us sometimes to repeat such a drift in the direction of two wheels ...

For not a single Harley. In the world of motorcycles, not everything is decided by the bearded guys from Orange County Choppers. It is enough to look at some of the photos to understand: the motor world is developing faster than nanotechnology in Skolkovo.
