To replace, you will need a special tool - couplers for springs.

1. Raise the front of the car and remove the wheels.
2. Unscrew the stabilizer bar, only on top of the shock absorber. To do this, hold the stabilizer bar with one key inside, and from the outside we unscrew with another 17mm key.

3. We unscrew the two nuts 19mm, the lower mounting of the shock absorber, and also unscrew the two bolts 12mm, the fastenings brake hose and wires abs.
4. Disconnect bottom mount shock absorber from the hub.

5. Unscrew the three 12mm nuts securing the rack support and remove it.

6. To disassemble the shock absorber, it will be more convenient to clamp it in a vise. We install the couplers in the spring, and compress them until the spring moves away from the upper cup, and the shock absorber cup.

7. Using a 19mm spanner, unscrew the shock absorber rod. When scrolling the stem, you can fix it with a clamp or a suitable key.

8. We remove in turn - the support of the rack, the cup with the bearing, the spring, the bump stop with the boot, the rubber band under the spring, and rearrange everything to new shock absorber. We install a new thrust bearing and the support itself, and assemble everything in the reverse order.

In this small photo instruction, you can see how to independently replace the rear support bearings with Hyundai models Elantra 4. By the way, for those who did not know, usually these bearings are changed immediately with the springs, with rare exceptions, because they become unusable almost simultaneously.
To work, in addition to standard tools, you need a special coupler for springs, and here are the part numbers:
- Used a shock absorber (not original): EX546512H000 (the same on the right and left sides)
- front shock absorber supports: 546102H200
- The bearing itself (not original) 3341/8

Let's get started:
1. As usual, first of all, we raise the front of the car and dismantle the wheels. The stabilizer bar will have to be unscrewed while doing this only with its upper part. We use the key for 17, holding the rack rod from the inside with the second key.

2. Go to the bottom side. We find two nuts at 19 and unscrew them. In addition to this, you will have to release the brake hose and ABS wires. You can remove the shock absorber and hub in the direction of mounting.

3. The rack support is held by only 3 bolts, we also unscrew them. After that, remove the rack.

4. Now you will need a little brute force and ingenuity, because you have to tighten the spring so that it moves away from the cup. A vise is fine for this, but ties are required, as in the photographs.

5. We arm ourselves with a key of 19 and finally you can unscrew the stem, sometimes it is useful to clamp it with something so that it does not scroll.

6. The last step in our replacement. Here's what you need to remove from the old one: a strut support, a cup with a bearing, a spring, a bump stop with anther, an elastic band under the spring, we mount all this in the same sequence on a fresh shock absorber.
We put new bearing and put everything in its place.
