The second fuse box is installed in the engine compartment (see article "

If you bought Grant and you started having problems with the electrics, you may have encountered a factory defect. But do not be scared ahead of time, the first thing to do is to check the fuses and relays in the Lada Granta and find out the cause of the malfunction. If you're lucky, you'll get away with a simple fuse replacement.

If not, then you may have to go to a car service or troubleshoot electronics yourself. Remember - the main thing in such cases is to fully understand the problem, do not spare time for this, because any car owner should know as much as possible about his car (especially domestic).

Fuse box

The fuse box in the Grant is located to the left of the steering column, near the light switch knobs. To remove the cover and access the fuses and relays, pull the top left side of the cover towards you. Made conveniently, everything is at hand and you don’t have to climb anywhere, getting up from driver's seat. Maybe this is a hint that they will often have to be changed, or maybe just a convenience - developers know better.

F1 (15 A) - engine control unit, injectors, ignition coil, cooling fan relay, short circuit 2x2.

If you have electronic problems and replacing this fuse does not help, in the worst case, you will have to reflash the ECU or change it. Also, when this fuse blows, the injectors and the ignition coil stop working, which makes the engine impossible to work. Therefore, if the Grant does not start, check this fuse first.

F2 (30 A) - power windows.

If they do not work and replacing the fuse does not help, try pulling it out completely or removing the terminal from the battery for a couple of minutes, then connect it again. In this way, all temporary errors should be reset, and if this is the case, the power windows will work again.

F3 (15 A) - alarm. If it does not work, check this fuse, as well as the emergency button, its contacts and the operation of the lamps.

F4 (20 A) - wiper, airbag.
If on dashboard caught fire control lamp missing airbag, check this fuse. It could be either him or electronic unit or in the pillows themselves.

If the wiper does not work and this fuse is intact, also check the K6 relay, the power handle, the reliability of the connectors connected to it, as well as the wiper motor itself.

F5 (7.5 A)- terminal 15 of the ignition switch. If there are problems with turning on the ignition, check this fuse, as well as the reliability of the wire connections to the lock terminals.

F6 (7.5 A) - lamp reversing . If it does not work, but this fuse is intact, check the lamp itself, as well as the contacts for connecting the connectors to the headlight.

F7 (7.5 A) - DMRV, adsorber valve, oxygen sensor, speed sensor.
If the engine is unstable, does not hold idling or spontaneously stalls, it may be in this fuse or the corresponding sensor. About that, we already had an article.

F8 (30 A) - heated rear window. If it does not work, check this fuse, the terminals for connecting wires to the heater, as well as the integrity of its elements.

F9 (5 A) - right marker lamps

F10 (5 A) - left marker lamps. If the dimensions do not light up, it may be in these fuses or in the lamps themselves, as well as their connectors. It does not hurt to check the size switch on the dashboard.

F11 (5 A) - rear fog lights. If they do not work, but this fuse is good, it may be in the switch on the dashboard or in the lamps themselves, as well as their connectors

F12 (7.5 A) - right low beam lamp
F13 (7.5 A) - left low beam lamp. If the dipped beam does not work in two headlights at the same time, the matter may be in the K9 relay, or in the dipped beam switch and its contacts. If only one lamp does not light, the problem is most likely in this fuse or in the lamp itself, which needs to be replaced.

F14 (10 A) - right high beam lamp
F15 (10 A) - left high beam lamp. If both high beam headlights are not working, it may be the K7 relay. If only one, replace fuse and/or bulb.

F16 (10 A) - Front right anti-fog headlight

F17 (10 A) - Front left fog lamp. If they do not work, check the switch on the dashboard, as well as its contacts. If one fog lamp does not work, the lamp most likely burned out and needs to be replaced.

F18 (15 A) - heated front seats. If it does not work, but this fuse is good, check the heater switch on the dashboard.

F19 (10 A) - ABS. If, when you press the brake pedal, slippery road the wheels are blocked and the pedal does not “spring” back, which means that the ABS does not work and the matter may be in this fuse or in mechanical elements braking systems.

F20 (15 A) - diagnostic connector, horn, trunk lock, gearbox, cigarette lighter. Very frequent blowing of this fuse is usually caused by a short circuit or incorrect connection of devices to the cigarette lighter socket. If the trunk does not open, it may be due to the cigarette lighter. Replacing this fuse should fix the problem.

F21 (15 A) - electric fuel pump. If the car suddenly stalls in the middle of the road and there is very little gas in the tank, this fuse may have blown. Without load (without gasoline), the operation of the fuel pump can lead to its failure. Therefore, refuel and check this fuse.

F22 (15 A) - central locking.

If for example only the central locking works driver's door, and the rest do not lock, it may be in this fuse, as well as in the control unit. It is better to entrust the diagnosis and repair to specialists if there is no experience.

F23 (10 A) - daytime lamps running lights . If the lights on both sides are not working, it is most likely the fuse or the switch on the dashboard. If the lamp does not work on only one side, the problem is most likely in the lamp itself.

F24 (7.5 A) - air conditioning. If it does not work and this fuse is good, it may be the switch on the dashboard. It is better to entrust the diagnostics of the air conditioning system to specialists. It may need to be recharged or serviced.

F25 (10 A) - interior lighting, brake lights. If the brake lights do not work and this fuse is intact, it may be in the lamps themselves and their connectors or in the brake light switch in the pedal drive.

F26 (25 A) - ABS. Similar to F19

F27 - reserve
F28 - reserve
F29 - reserve
F30 - reserve

F31 (50 A) - heated windshield

F32 (30 A) - stove, electric power steering. If, when turning the steering wheel, uneven work power steering or steering wheel is difficult to turn, check this fuse. It could also be in the electronic control unit or insufficient level brake fluid in the power booster tank.

The relays are located in the same fuse and relay box, which is located to the left of the steering column under the cover.

K1 - stove fan relay

K2 - power window relay. If they do not work, also check fuse F2, if it does not help, then the problem may be in the control unit.

K3 - starter relay. If it does not work (does not turn) and this relay is working, check the battery level. Also, the matter may be in the retractor or in the ignition switch and its contacts.

K4 - relay terminal 15 of the ignition switch

K5 - turn signal relay and alarm . If the turn signals are lit and do not turn off, this relay may have closed. Also check fuse F3 (emergency mode).

K6 - wiper relay. Also check fuse F4.

K7 - high beam relay. Also check fuses F14 and F15 and the lamps themselves.

K8 - horn relay. Also check the fuse F20, the contacts of the signal switch on the steering wheel.

K9 - low beam relay. Also check fuses F12 and F13 and the lamps themselves.

K10 - rear window heating relay. If the heating does not work, the problem may be in the F8 fuse.

K11 - engine control unit relay. Also check fuse F1.

K12 - electric fuel pump relay. Also check fuse F21.

Power fuses

Block power fuses located under the hood and located between the battery, strut support and reservoir. It looks like a vertically mounted box. Taking it off her top cover, access to the power fuses appears.

F1 (50 A) - electric power steering. If the steering wheel is tight, also check fuse F32.

F2 (30 A) - heater fan

F3 (60 A) - generator. If the battery is quickly discharged or the discharge lamp is on, check this fuse, as well as the operation of the generator itself and its brush.

F4 (60 A) - generator

F5 (30 A) - dipped headlights. Also check relay K9 and fuses F12, F13.

Be careful when troubleshooting any electrical problem. Replace fuses and relays only with the engine turned off and the ignition off.

The need to replace the starter relay may arise as a result of its breakdown. Symptoms of a malfunctioning relay are that the starter starts to work intermittently. When turning the ignition key, . In the event of this situation, it is necessary to start the diagnosis with the contact relay. But where is it located and how to check its work? Read more about this in this article.

Where is the starter relay located?

The starter relay is located in the fuse box. And to the left of the driver next to.

The location of the latches of the decorative plug of the mounting block

In order to get to the fuse box, you need to remove the decorative protective panel. How to do this was shown in the video above.

Contact relay diagnostics

To check the operation of the starter relay, it is necessary to remove it from the mounting block and replace it with a known good one, or put a jumper. You can also try .

Using a wire jumper to test a contact relay

If, after replacing the contact relay, the car's starter began to work, then the malfunction was precisely in the "relay". If, on the contrary, the replacement did not bring any results, then “it was not in the reel” and the old relay is most likely working.

Useful advice on what you can temporarily replace the starter relay

If your starter relay breaks during a trip, you can replace it with a “relay for heated rear window”. They are identical. The number of the "relay for heating the rear window" K10.
