Adjust the clutch vaz 2106. How to adjust the clutch vaz

28.09.2019

The main purpose of the clutch mechanism is to combine the crankshaft with the gearbox and transmit torque from the engine to the wheels of the car. This device is used on the machine when shifting to a lower or higher gear, as well as when switching to neutral. In order for the gear to be switched on easily and smoothly, you will need the correct adjustment of the VAZ 2107 clutch, which every owner of the seven should be able to do.

The clutch, although it performs a simple task, consists of many component parts. All parts have an appropriate resource, so sooner or later the clutch needs to be repaired and adjusted. Before setting up the clutch on the VAZ 2107, you need to deal with its structural elements.

Classic cars of the VAZ family are equipped with a closed-type dry clutch mechanism. The device consists of the following elements:

  1. The driving part is a driven disk with splines for transmitting the moment of movement to the gearbox shaft. This rotation is transmitted by friction between the friction type linings with the flywheel and the pressure plate.
  2. Non-separable mechanism - this assembly is called a basket, which is fixed to the flywheel.

The clutch mechanism on the VAZ 2107 is driven by the leftmost pedal in the passenger compartment. The device is driven by a hydraulic drive. The following units form the basis of the hydraulic drive:

  • and cylinders.
  • Plugs on and off.
  • Release bearing.

All classic VAZ models, as well as carburetor and injection VAZ 2107, are equipped with a similar clutch design. The only difference is the presence of an auxiliary shield on injection models, the purpose of which is to protect against dirt. To give an idea of what we are talking about, below is a diagram of the device in question.

How to adjust the clutch on a classic

The clutch adjustment on the seven should be done after the installation of the mechanism is carried out. With a properly performed setup procedure, you can continue to operate the machine without worrying about premature failure of the unit. Before the adjustment process, you will need to check the hydraulic actuator for the presence of air in it. Air must be removed by bleeding the system, and if necessary, replace all fluid.

This is interesting! If, after replacing the clutch parts, the adjustment of the mechanism was incorrectly performed, then continuing to further operate the machine with an unconfigured device is not only not convenient and dangerous, but may threaten to be re-repaired.

If it became necessary to adjust the mechanism in question on the VAZ 2107, then detailed instructions are presented below.

Clutch pedal free play adjustment

To set the free play of the pedal, you will need to adjust the two units - the main and working cylinders. This will allow you to perform the most accurate clutch adjustment on the VAZ 2107. The procedures for adjusting the clutch pedal stroke are performed:

Clutch pusher free play adjustment

We proceed to adjust the free play of the pushing rod of the clutch fork (working cylinder). First you need to clarify the amount of free play. It is done like this:

  1. The working cylinder is located at the bottom of the car, so to continue further actions, you need to go down into the inspection hole and continue working there.
  2. Armed with pliers, you need to dismantle the spring from the resistance fork. It is not necessary to remove the spring, but then when making the adjustment, you will need to apply force when checking.
  3. Using a ruler, you need to find out the amount of free play of the clutch fork.
  4. Applying force to the fork until it stops, you need to hold it in this position. We remember the position of the fork along the ruler, and then we need to release the mechanism and measure the free play. Its value should be in the range from 3 to 5 mm. The life of the release bearing depends on this free play. If there is no clearance, then the entire load will go to the release bearing, which will soon disable it.

When the fork clearance is not correct, it should be adjusted. The adjustment process consists of the following manipulations:

  1. Using two wrenches on “13” and on “17”, you need to loosen the lock nut. The photo shows this process - the letter “a” indicates the key that needs to hold the nut, and the second under the letter “b” should unscrew the nut.
  2. Using pliers or an adjustable wrench, it is necessary to fix the end part of the pusher or RCS rod in a fixed form with them, and loosen the nut “a” by 1-2 turns.
  3. We set the correct free play of the pusher from 3 to 5 mm.
  4. We fix the lock nut “a” in the established position, while tightening the nut “b”.

After adjusting the idle speed of the clutch fork pusher, it is required to double-check the compliance with the pedal idle speed. Don't forget to replace the spring.

Clutch test

To make sure that all the work done is done correctly, proceed to the following manipulations:

  1. Set the gearshift lever to neutral.
  2. The engine starts, after which it is necessary to warm up the engine to operating temperature.
  3. Squeeze the clutch all the way, and put the gear lever into reverse speed mode.
  4. The function check continues, and now you can shift into first gear and move off. We turn on each gear in turn and listen for the absence of a rattle.
  5. When transferring gears from one to another, there should be no third-party noise in the form of rattle and knock. The absence of extraneous noise means that the clutch system is adjusted correctly.
  6. If the gears turn on smoothly and without extraneous noise, then everything is done correctly.
  7. It remains to perform one more check - in each gear we pick up speed and observe that the car picks up speed smoothly, without signs of slipping. If they are present, then this indicates that the clutch is slipping and will need to be re-adjusted.

On this, the process of adjusting the clutch on the seven is considered complete, and as you can see, it is quite realistic to implement it yourself. We recommend reading: about replacement and what to do if or it

The main task of the clutch is the temporary separation (disengagement) of the engine and transmission and their smooth connection. These operations are necessary while driving to control a manual transmission: shifting gears, stopping, braking, starting the car from a place.

In cases where the adjustment of the free play of the clutch pedal is disturbed, the car stops moving normally, various problems arise - it becomes impossible to move off, the gears shift with a crunch, and the car can also slip and accelerate poorly.

How to adjust clutch. General leadership

Clutch cable clearance check . Depending on the make of the car, the cable gap on the mechanical clutch can be checked and adjusted in different ways.

There are three main ways:

  • change in cable length when the clutch lever is operated;
  • measuring the distance between the adjusting nut and the fork;
  • measuring the distance between the adjusting nut and the cable stopper.

On some vehicles, either of these methods can be used. But the measurement must be carried out between the points given in the car manual or in the operating instructions.

Checking and adjusting the clutch fork . The vehicle must be securely raised onto ramps or stands. With a hand brake, we also apply wheel blocking.

  1. We find the clutch cable going down from the clutch pedal and protruding through the clutch of the control lever. There are threaded bushings, with two nuts, which are located on the protruding end of the cable.
  2. The gap has a difference between the measurement when the shift lever is at rest and when positioned inward.
  3. To measure it, hold a ruler next to the cable between the control lever and another reference point, such as the edge of the clutch housing.
  4. Gently press the lever all the way, align the ruler with its end and measure the distance between the lever and the reference point.
  5. We pull the lever out and measure the distance again. We find the difference between the two measurements and compare it with the specified data from the manufacturer.
  6. If the gap needs to be adjusted, we loosen the union nut on the threaded sleeve, which is popularly called the locknut (on some VW cars it is a wing nut).
  7. Next, we turn the adjusting nut forward or backward, to reduce or increase the gap, checking the measurement as necessary.
  8. Tighten the locknut and depress the clutch pedal several times. Check the gap again, adjust if necessary.

On some vehicles with a protective underbody, it can be very difficult to get to the locknut and turn it if necessary. In this case, you will need a special wrench that has a socket and a universal disk to perform this procedure.

Gap measurement . Measure the distance between the operating arm clutch and a reference point, such as the edge of the clutch housing. The first operation is carried out with the control lever at rest, and then when it is in the pressed position. The difference between these two measurements is the amount of free play on the lever on the cable. This is the gap in the clutch cable.

Another way to check and adjust . We find the place where the clutch cable protrudes beyond the fork and nuts on the threaded bushing.

  1. Using pliers, unhook the breakaway spring from the clutch fork.
  2. We take the threaded end of the cable (if necessary, you can take pliers) and tighten it to the possible level, which will allow you to raise the clutch pedal to the limit.
  3. You can measure the distance between the adjusting nut and the inner edge of the clutch fork with a ruler. This is the gap measurement.
  4. We compare the obtained data with the figure indicated in the car's operating instructions.
  5. If adjustment is necessary, this can be done as described above.

Checking and adjusting the clutch cable . This method is used on some older cars.

  1. In a fully raised position, using a block of wood, we jam the clutch pedal.
  2. Having found the location of the clutch cable, we find where the outer cable is pressed against the edge of the case.
  3. The lock nut and adjusting nut are located at the end of the cable, next to the fixing bracket.
  4. Hold the outer part of the cable and pull it back until it stops, which will expose the inner cable.
  5. Using a ruler, measure the length of the exposed part of the cable between the end of the cable and the adjusting nut. This is a clutch cable gap measurement.
  6. We compare the obtained data with the data indicated by the manufacturer and, if necessary, adjust.
  7. We loosen the locknut and turn the adjusting nut either back or forward to obtain the optimal value.
  8. Tighten the locknut and measure again.

Checking and adjusting the hydraulic clutch . Many hydraulic clutches are self-adjusting, but some designs allow manual adjustment to compensate for friction plate wear.

  1. If the hydraulic coupling is adjustable, the pushrod on the slave cylinder will be threaded and fitted with a locknut.
  2. We raise the car securely on the ramp or axle stands.
  3. We climb under the car and find the clutch slave cylinder and its adjustable pusher.
  4. Unhook the breakaway spring from the fork with pliers. Push the clutch fork forward until it stops.
  5. Holding it in this position, use a ruler to measure the distance between the end of the slave cylinder body and the clutch fork.
  6. We release the fork, and then measure the distance again while it is at rest.
  7. The difference between these two measurements is the clutch clearance. We compare this with the figure that is given in the car's manual and adjust if necessary.
  8. The locknut and adjusting nut are located on the threaded end of the pusher. We loosen the locknut.
  9. We turn the adjusting nut screw towards the working cylinder to increase the gap, or towards the clutch fork to reduce it. When the measurement is correct, tighten the locknut.
  10. Check again and adjust again if necessary.

How to adjust the clutch on the VAZ 2110, 2111, 2112

1) . We put the car on a flat area and turn on the parking brake. Open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.

2) . Next, using a ruler installed perpendicular to the accelerator and the floor, we measure the travel distance of the drive. We measure the distance from the floor to the place where the rubber gasket on the accelerator begins. In cases where this distance is more or less than 16 cm, then adjustment will need to be made.

3) . So, we open the hood of the car, after which we find the fastening of the cable of the system with the pedal. As a rule, it is located opposite the driver's seat. Pay attention to the 2 nuts that are located at the end of this cable. In the photo they are marked with numbers 1 and 2. We unscrew the nut at number 1, but not completely, and tighten or unscrew the second one, until the desired free play of the accelerator, that is, until the stroke is 12 - 13 cm.

4) . Please note that when loosening the second nut, the free play will increase, and when tightened, it will decrease.

5) . Next, we sit in the driver's seat and, until the very end, press the clutch pedal several times, after which we lower it. We do this again and check the free play indicator. If necessary, the procedure can be repeated.

6) . After the clutch is adjusted, we advance the restrictive sleeve into the fork until it stops.

7) . This completes the adjustment process.

How to adjust the clutch on the VAZ 2108, 2109, 2199

1) . When the pedal is depressed, it is necessary to use a tape measure to measure the distance from the floor to its lower edge. It should be in the range of 18-20 centimeters.

3) . From the first result of 18-20 cm obtained, we subtract the result of the second measurement of 6-7 cm. As a result, we get 13-14 cm. For cars of the VAZ 2108 and VAZ 2109 brands, this value is considered normal.

4) . In cases where this value differs in one direction or another, then the clutch will need to be re-adjusted. That is, we either tighten or weaken.

5) . We hold the adjusting nut with one key, and with the second we loosen the lock nut a little.

6) . By turning the adjusting nut clockwise, we increase the pedal travel, and therefore it should move down.

7). We make measurements and in cases of a satisfactory result, we tighten the lock nut and this work can be considered completed. But if not, then you will need to do this operation again.

How to adjust the clutch on Lada Kalina?

1) . Open the hood and remove the air filter. To do this, unscrew the bolts securing the air filter housing to the hood. Then disconnect the MAF. Next, unscrew the clamp and remove the air filter housing.

2) . We pull out the cable by the threaded tip to the maximum possible distance. In this case, it will be necessary to overcome the resistance provided by the spring attached to the PS.

3) . Holding the cable in this position, use a caliper to measure the distance between the plastic leash and the fork lever. It should be 2.7 cm.

4) . In cases where the distance does not match, then using an open-end wrench, either tighten or loosen the tension nut.

6) . After the distance is adjusted, the air filter is installed in place.

How to adjust the clutch on the VAZ 2107

To adjust the clutch of the VAZ 2107, you need to drive into a pit or overpass. But in cases where this is not possible, then we install the car with the help of a jack on supports, in compliance with all safety measures.

1) . The free play must be adjusted so that the distance from the upper position of the pedal to the stop is 0.4 - 2 millimeters. Otherwise, you will need to make adjustments. Using the “10” wrench, unscrew the locking stopper nut a little and set the desired gap by rotating it.

2) . If the VAZ 2107 engine system provides fuel injection, then you will need to remove the protective shield.

3) . Before applying the lubricating mixture to the thread of the pusher, we clean it from dirt.

4) . We check the stroke of the pusher, since the stroke of the release bearing depends on it. We press the fork back to the stop, the stroke of the pusher should be four to five millimeters. Since a significant effort is needed, it is better to disconnect the spring from the lever.

5) . The stroke of the pusher is adjustable using the "17" key. It is also necessary to restrain the adjusting nut of the pusher from turning, but with the help of the “13” wrench, we loosen the lock nut.

6) . Fixing the pusher with the “8” key, set the required 4-5 millimeters with the “17” key.

7) . Fix the locknut.

8) . We check the pedal travel, which should be approximately 30 millimeters from its upper position until it is turned off. If necessary, you can perform the operation again.

How to adjust the clutch on the Gazelle?

How to adjust the clutch on the Lada Priore?

There are two ways to measure the required position of the cable.

The first way is to orient along the clutch pedal, the movement of which should be within 125 - 123 millimeters. But the second way is to measure the length of the cable coming out of the casing. In the released state, it should be 27 millimeters.

In most cases, drivers use the first option, which is explained by greater reliability. It is the procedure for the first option that we will describe in detail.

1) . Using a 17 wrench, unscrew the lock nut that secures the cable casing in the box socket.

3) . With the help of a threaded plastic end cap, we correct the cable slack. We fasten without tightening the nuts and check for soft gear engagement. In cases where the clutch is adjusted correctly, then the nuts can also be fixed.

3) . Using 2 wrenches, we loosen the nuts securing the cable end, after which we tighten or loosen them so that the pedal travel is 125 - 135 mm.

4) . Sit in the driver's seat and fully depress the clutch pedal at least 3 times. Then we measure it again and move. We adjust if necessary.

How to adjust the clutch on the Niva?

Conclusion

Even though the adjustment work is not a difficult task, it requires a certain attention and patience. However, with the right approach, success will not be long in coming. Happy repair.

The clutch system in each car is one of the key components of the control system, in case of failure of which it is impossible to continue driving. The clutch is controlled by the pedal. Probably, it is not necessary to say that this is the most complex system that needs systematic care and attention, and any driver should be able to perform the adjustment.

A correctly adjusted clutch significantly reduces the risk of premature wear of clutch parts, such as the release plate.

[ Hide ]

Signs of a failing clutch

We will try to understand in general terms the process of debugging the clutch. Why is adjustment necessary? If the adjustment is not carried out in a timely manner, then later this will lead to complex repair work or a complete replacement of the entire system. If the pedal travel is increased, then this will subsequently lead to incomplete shutdown, the disc will still be in contact with the motor flywheel.

If, on the contrary, that is, the pedal travel is small, then the driven disk will not be fully engaged, as drivers say, slipping will occur, or loss of torque.

System Diagnostics

  • Let's start with the simplest. We need a regular ruler. However, measurement of the pedal travel will be required when there are problems during gear shifting or at the start.
  • If you start moving and at this time there are jerks or bumps, crackling when switching gears, or if the pedal sinks, these are clear symptoms that the system needs to be adjusted.
  • Apart from this, you can personally conduct a diagnosis. You need to start the engine, slowly release the pedal and move off.
  • If the car starts immediately when the pedal is released, then this means insufficient free play. And otherwise, if the car does not budge, even if the pedal is released, then this means that its stroke exceeds the norm.
  • Using a ruler or tape measure, we measure the distance between the floor and the pedal - it should be 160 millimeters, otherwise it needs to be adjusted.

Tools

Preparatory work

To perform the adjustment, we put the car on a pit or overpass. If this is not possible, then observing all safety measures, it is necessary to put the car on supports using a jack.

Adjustment

Examination

Once you're done, be sure to check:

  1. Turn on neutral. Start the car and wait until it warms up to operating temperature. Then, at low speeds, depress the clutch and engage reverse gear. If everything is in order, then it will turn on freely without any noise!
  2. The next test is to accelerate the VAZ 2107 car and alternately switch all speeds. If they turn on without unnecessary noise, then the system is configured correctly. Be sure to pay attention to the fact that the car accelerates normally.

In conclusion, we say that the clutch is a very important system that needs to be treated carefully. For example, in case of improper handling and untimely service, the clutch may simply burn out. Similarly, involuntary movement of the machine can occur, and in this case the consequences can be the most unpredictable.

Video "Adjusting the clutch system on classic VAZ models"

This video shows how to adjust and tighten the clutch on traditional VAZ cars.

Welcome!
Clutch adjustment - thanks to this small procedure, you can reduce the risk of wear of clutch parts such as the release plate, but only if the clutch is not set, if it is set, then if it works correctly, the risk of wear of clutch parts will be minimal even with moderate driving. Therefore, if your clutch is not adjusted, then we recommend that you read this manual so that you can adjust it in the future.

Note!
To adjust, you will need to stock up: A basic set of wrenches, as well as for more proper adjustment, it is recommended to take a ruler or square with you.
And it will also be necessary to use: Pliers and pincers of the "Cobra" type!

Summary:

Where is the clutch slave and master cylinder located, due to which the clutch is adjusted?

The working cylinder can be easily seen by looking under the bottom of the car, it is located at one end on the gearbox itself and the other end is inserted into the clutch fork, for more details on the location of the working cylinder, see the photo below:

The master cylinder is located in the engine compartment of the car, in order to see it under the bottom of the car it makes no sense to climb, because after opening the hood it can be easily seen.

When should the clutch be adjusted?
The clutch is adjusted when there is a very significant play when you press the clutch pedal, or when there is no play at all, for the record! The initial free play of the pedal should be "0.4 - 2.0 mm", if it is more or less, then in this case, adjust the system.

Note!
And also measure, just in case, the free travel of the clutch pedal until it is turned off, which should fit into the norm - “25 - 35 mm”!

It is also necessary to adjust the system, if between the pusher, which is indicated by the red arrow and the clutch fork, which is indicated by the blue arrow, the free play is completely gone or it exceeds “4-5 mm”, it is very easy to check this stroke; for this, grab the clutch fork with your hand as shown in the figure, and then swing the fork from side to side.

Note!
In fact, this operation can not be carried out, but it is best to focus all your attention on checking the free play of the clutch pedal, because as a rule, if it is normal, then the free play of the pusher and clutch fork will also most likely be normal. But still, if you want to check the fork, then check it, otherwise, due to the large free play, the release bearing will succumb to the constant load in the forks, because of which it may become unusable in the near future, and therefore it will have to be replaced!

How to adjust the clutch on a VAZ 2101-VAZ 2107?

Introduction!
Before proceeding with the adjustment, you need to explain in more detail how the clutch is adjusted, for this, read the important information below:

Firstly, the clutch can be adjusted from the passenger compartment, for this, a bracket is installed on the clutch pedal itself, on which, in turn, a pusher (Indicated by the letter “A”) of the clutch master cylinder is installed, and due to this pusher and the nuts that are located on it, you can adjust the gap between the pushrod itself and the clutch master cylinder piston.

Note!
From the inside of the car, the clutch is adjusted only for the initial free play of the pedal, that is, the initial free play at the clutch pedal should be “0.4 - 2.0 mm”, if it is less or if it does not exist at all, then adjust it using the pusher nuts indicated under the letter "A" in the photo above!

Secondly, the clutch is adjusted even from below the car, but in this case it is necessary to measure the free play of the clutch fork pusher, which is indicated by the letter "B", and it is regulated within "4 - 5 mm".

Clutch pedal free play adjustment:

Note!
The free travel of the clutch pedal is regulated not only by adjusting the pusher of the clutch master cylinder, but also by adjusting the pusher of the brake slave cylinder. Therefore, for a more accurate adjustment, we recommend that you also adjust the free play of the pusher of the working cylinder. (How to adjust the free play of the pusher, see the heading: "")

1) First, being in the car, using the wrench indicated under the number “1”, hold the travel limiter, and at this moment, using the wrench under the number “2”, loosen the lock nut by 1 - 2 turns.

Note!
When the correct free play of the pedal is reached, again hold the limiter with a wrench and, as a result, tighten the lock nut!

3) Then, using a ruler, measure the full initial free play of the pedal, to do this, press the clutch pedal with your hand until the pedal starts to be pressed with tangible resistance. When the pedal began to be pressed with noticeable resistance, then use a ruler to measure the free play of the pedal, which should be “0.4 - 2.0 mm”.

Note!
If the free play is violated again, then in this case, perform a second operation to adjust the length of the pusher using nuts!

Clutch pusher free play adjustment:

Examination:
1) To do this, using pliers, first disconnect the release spring from the clutch release fork, and then completely remove it from the working cylinder.

Note!
The spring is removed only for convenience, because in fact the free play can also be checked without removing the springs, but only in this case, when checking the free play, you will have to overcome the resistance of the spring!

2) Then, either with a ruler or with a square, check the free play of the clutch fork, to do this, first install the square so that its end is fixed, i.e. rests on something (The best location for checking is shown in the photo below) .

Further, when the square is located as it should, press the clutch fork forward with your hand until it stops and lock it in this position. Then remember the position of the fork relative to the square. After remembering, release the fork and thereby measure its free play, which should be within "4 - 5 mm".

Note!
If the free play is disturbed, then adjust the fork!

Adjustment:

Note!
Due to the fact that the working cylinder is located almost under the bottom of the car, it is mostly very dirty, or the pusher nuts can turn sour in general, and therefore it is almost impossible to move its nuts from their place, therefore, to facilitate work, you can spray some kind of grease for example "WD-40", to facilitate the work!

1) First, use two wrenches, with one of which hold the adjusting nut under the letter "A", and with the other at the same time, loosen the lock nut under the letter "B".

2) Then, with pincers of the "Cobra" type, fix the push from turning it (The place is indicated by the letter "A"), and then loosen the lock nut "B" by 1 - 2 turns.

Note!
After all completed operations, be sure to check that the free play of the clutch pedal is correct!

Final clutch test!

1) At the beginning, engage the neutral gear in the gearbox. Then start the car and wait for the engine to warm up to operating temperature. Next, at the lowest speed at which your engine is running, depress the clutch, and as a result, engage reverse gear.

Note!
Reverse gear in this case, you will have to turn on without grinding and knocking or any other extraneous noise!

2) Now you can try another test, for this, when accelerating the car, try to turn on each gear at the moment you need it, if the gears turn on without grinding and knocking, then in this case the clutch is working properly.

3) And in the end, try to pay your attention to the acceleration of the car, that is, the car should accelerate normally during acceleration, there should not be such that you press the revs pedal in the red zone and the car does not go.

Note!
This example indicates that the clutch is slipping!

If this check did not give any results and the clutch still does not work correctly, then in this case, first try to pump the clutch, and if this does not help, then remove and, as a result, repair the clutch by replacing its worn parts with new ones. (How to bleed the clutch, see the article: "Bleeding the clutch on a car")

Additional video clip:
You can also learn how to adjust the free play of the fork pusher from the video clip below:

Until now, clutch adjustment on the VAZ 2106 and 2107 is relevant for many motorists. After all, not all services willingly work with old domestic cars. But, there is still a lot of such equipment on the roads, and its owners have to independently solve the problems that arise. Which old cars abound. Clutch problems are one of the most common problems. That is why the driver needs to know what to do with this mechanism and in what time frame. Remember that incorrect adjustment leads to breakdowns and complex repairs, which in our time are not cheap.

Why is it needed?

Clutch adjustment on the VAZ 2106 and 2107 is carried out relatively often, but many drivers underestimate the importance of this procedure and do not carry it out. Which leads to unpleasant consequences. If, the clutch is clamped, that is, it turns off at the very top, the disk is constantly under load. This leads to increased wear and, accordingly, premature failure of the disk.

If the clutch disengages too low, then the contact of the drive disc with the driven one is incomplete. This leads to an increased load on the engine. In any case, the consequences for various parts of the car are the most deplorable.

When is it done?

It is necessary to adjust the clutch on the classic after any work related to the clutch. This includes removing the gearbox, replacing the clutch basket or disc, replacing the clutch slave cylinder. Also, adjustment is made with a clear shift in either direction of the moment of disengagement of the clutch. After all, all structural elements gradually wear out, which causes the need for such adjustments. Do not forget to bleed the clutch before carrying out work by releasing air from the hydraulic actuator.

For reference, let's look at the drive adjustment data from the manufacturer. The pedal free play should be within 25-35 mm. That is, from its upper position to the moment when the pusher rests against the clutch fork, there should be just such a distance. This is checked with a ruler. To do this, bring the ruler to the pedal, and press the clutch with your hand. When you feel a slight resistance, then this is the desired point. If the difference between the upper position and the moment of inclusion is more or less, you will have to do the adjustment.

Clutch elements. Before you start adjusting, you need to decide what and where to adjust. In the cabin, the pedal travel is adjusted, sometimes drivers limit themselves to this work, believing that this is enough and with the correct pedal setting, everything will return to normal. This is partly true. But, in practice, this is not always the case.

Adjustment

To carry out the work, you will need open-end wrenches for 8, 13 and 17. Pliers and a slotted screwdriver will also come in handy. It is easiest to do this work on a viewing hole or overpass. If you don't have any of the above on hand. Then it is enough to make low races from ordinary boards, this should be enough. Adjustment is made as follows:

  • Using pliers, remove the release spring from the clutch fork. This item is optional, but it is still more convenient to carry out adjustment with the spring removed;
  • Using a ruler, measure the stroke of the fork, it should be 4-5 millimeters;
  • Before adjustment work, clean the stem from dirt, and apply a rust converter on it, it will do;
  • With a key of 17, we hold the adjusting nut from turning, at the same time, with a key of 13, we loosen the lock nut;
  • We take the key for 8 and, holding the stem with it, we make adjustments using the adjusting nut;
  • Tighten the locknut;
  • We check the correctness of the settings with a ruler;
  • Putting the spring back on. The easiest way to do this is with pliers, helping yourself with a screwdriver:
  • We check the pedal travel in the cabin, it should correspond to the norm. If this is not the case, then you need to make adjustments. For this, there is a special nut under the pedal. Rotating it, achieve ideal performance.
