Description of the fuse box in the Ford Fusion. Ford fiesta, fusion

All power supply circuits of the electrical equipment of the car are protected by fuses or connected through a relay. In order to make it easier to control them, they are brought into the fuse box - Ford Fusion provides for their placement in several places. More powerful elements, such as lighting devices, electric fans, a pump and others, are connected via a relay. The sections in which the relays are located, the fuses are installed behind the storage box and under the hood next to the battery.

Reliable protection of electrical circuits and automotive equipment with the help of electrical fuses is one of the most important tasks in the design modern cars. All electrical circuits in the Ford Fusion are protected by knife-type electrical fuses.

What are fuses and what are they for?

An electrical fuse is a part of an electrical circuit that is necessary to protect equipment from emergency electric currents. They can occur during operation for various reasons. The fuse is connected in series and breaks the circuit in the event of an increase in current.

Location and layout

Ford Fusion fuses and relays are located in two special blocks.

IN salon section Most of the electrical fuses are assembled in the Ford Fusion car, and in the section under the hood, mostly power fuses. cabin block located under dashboard behind the glove compartment, the layout is on the lid.

The second, engine compartment, is located next to the battery.

In order to make it easier to find and distinguish electrical fuses and change them, they are distinguished by color. For example, for a cigarette lighter fuse of blue color and the rated current is fifteen amperes. To make it more convenient to change those that are designed for the same current strength, painted in the same color.

For ease of replacement, there is a special tweezer that allows you to replace. They are usually checked visually, damaged ones must be replaced with new ones. Be sure to check the integrity of the circuit and the condition of the equipment before replacing.

Removal and replacement process

The main part of the Ford Fusion fuses and relays is located in the passenger compartment of the car under the instrument panel with right side behind the glove box.

  1. To gain access to the fuses located in the cabin, you need to open the glove box.
  2. Squeezing its walls, remove the travel stops and fold it down.
  3. There is a fuse diagram on the back of the cover.

To replace the fuses in the engine block you need to remove the battery.

  1. Carefully press the latch.
  2. Remove the section from the wall of the battery shelf.
  3. Using a screwdriver, remove the cover retainer.
  4. We unscrew the nuts to which it is attached.
  5. We change the failed fuse.
  6. To gain access to the relay under the hood, you need to press the latches on the sides with a screwdriver.
  7. And take it off.

Next, you need to visual inspection and identify the failed one. If you have problems with some equipment, there are special schemes by which you can easily identify and fix the problem by determining exactly where the break in the circuit occurred.

Attention! The electrical system of the car requires careful attention and in no case should you use the so-called bugs that cannot interrupt the circuit if a power surge occurs, and as a result, a fire can simply occur in the car. Do not take unnecessary risks and do not save on trifles. Observe basic safety precautions in all work.

Ford Fiesta, Fusion. LOCATION OF FUSES AND RELAYS AND THEIR REPLACEMENT

Most vehicle electrical power circuits are protected by fuses. headlights, fan motors, fuel pump and other powerful consumers are connected via relays. Fuses and relays are installed in mounting blocks located in the passenger compartment and engine compartment.

Most fuses and relays are installed in the fuse and relay mounting block in the passenger compartment (Fig. 10.1), located under the instrument panel on the right side (behind the glove box). The purpose of the fuses and relays is given in Table. 10.1 and 10.2.

In addition, fuses and relays are located in the mounting blocks of fuses (Fig. 10.2) and relays (Fig. 10.3) installed in the engine compartment next to the battery. In table. 10.3 and 10.4 indicate the purpose of these fuses and relays, but on different vehicle modifications

some circuits indicated in the tables may be missing,

6. If replacement is necessary, remove the relay by rocking it from side to side

7, Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

To replace the fuses of the mounting block located in the engine compartment, do the following.

You will need: 8 wrench, flat blade screwdriver.

In the engine compartment there is also a relay box mounted on the battery clamping bar.

To replace the relay perform the following operations.

1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.

4. Remove the failed relay,

5, install a new relay and removed cover in reverse order of removal,

All electrical wiring of a Ford Fusion car is protected by fuses (fuses) and relays. More powerful devices are connected through them, a number of which include: a fuel pump, a fan motor, headlights, etc. The rest electrical circuits connected via fuses.

The manufacturer placed blocks with fusible links in two places: the engine compartment and the car interior.

Fuse box Ford Fusion (under the hood)

The electrical fuses under the hood are located in a special box located behind the battery. This block has a small size and is attached to the wall of the shelf under the battery. Assignment of fuses and relays in engine compartment clearly shown in the table:

Interior: location of fuses and relays

The cabin contains most of the electrical fuses and relays. There are 53 fuse links and 12 relays in the plastic box. This block is located on the left side of the torpedo, namely, behind the glove box for things. That is, to replace the Ford Fusion size fuse, you will have to remove the glove box. Numbering, color, purpose fusible links in the cabin, see the table:

How to replace fuses and relays

To replace the fusible element in the engine compartment block, you must first remove the battery. After that, the plastic latch is pressed out in order to detach the unit from the battery shelf. Then, using a screwdriver, another latch is pressed out and the cover of the fuse box is removed. To replace one of the elements of the block, unscrew the two fasteners with a wrench.

Most vehicle electrical power circuits are protected by fuses. Headlights, fan motors, fuel pump and other powerful consumers are connected via relays. Fuses and relays are installed in mounting blocks, which are located in the passenger compartment behind the glove box and in the engine compartment on the left side near the battery.

3. Before replacing a blown fuse, find out the cause of the blown fuse and fix it. When looking for a malfunction, look at the ones listed in Table. 10.1 the circuits that this fuse protects.

4. Remove the replacement fuse with tweezers.

5. Use a replacement fuse of the same rating (and color) to replace the fuse.

6. If replacement is necessary, remove the relay by rocking it from side to side.
