The Grand Theft Auto series not without reason gained such wild popularity back in 1997, when most of the current GTA 5 fans were not even in the project. At that time, not only the gameplay and graphics, but the very idea of such a game seemed revolutionary. Just think of it: a huge city where you can take any (yes, absolutely any!) car and ride it as much and anywhere! An unthinkable breakthrough in game development gave impetus to the development of perhaps the most famous game series in the history of the industry.
A lot of absolutely wonderful features were also added, which can be listed for a very long time, however, the basis of the game, what gave the series its name and what was and remains the main element of the gameplay, has not gone away and continues to delight players of all ages. Indeed, the ability to choose any car from hundreds and hundreds in the vast world and ride it to your heart's content is something without which we cannot imagine any GTA game. But here another question arises: what to choose? Like the nicest, coolest and fastest car?
There are many classes of cars in this game and it's quite logical to assume that the fastest car in GTA Online is in the supercar class. After all, they are the most expensive, pumped, tuned and luxurious cars in the game. Well, until recently, things were exactly like this, however, with the release of the GTA Online "Big people and other bandits" update, the game's fleet was replenished with such a wonderful sports car as the Benefactor Schafter V12. Benefactor is a German manufacturer of expensive cars in GTA 4 and GTA 5. The company is the prototype of Mercedes-Benz in the game. The company logo is reminiscent of VW. Most models have a "special" variant, just like the Mercedes AMG in real life. Thanks to its powerful, six-liter V 12 engine, this car is capable of accelerating to tremendous speeds. As for handling, here it is worth remembering some features of the car. The Schafter V12 still has great responsive handling and a tight turning radius, but a several times more powerful engine can make skids more frequent. Unless, of course, you're careful. Our analytics team interviewed experienced players who confirmed that the new Benefactor Schafter V12 makes all those cool supercars almost stand up.
The Schafter V12 also has an armored version. The weight of the armor slightly reduced acceleration and reduced handling, but increased top speed. The armor allows you to withstand one tank shot or stickybomb, the second bomb will set fire to the car, but you still have time to get out of it. There is no doubt that such a great car like the Benefactor Schafter V12, and even equipped with excellent armor, will become the choice of a huge number of players in GTA Online.

Of course, many would be interested to know what is the fastest car in GTA Online. However, this question is not as straightforward as it seems at first glance. How will the fastest car be determined? Best in a short distance race? Or the best on a standard racing circuit with difficult corners? Or the best in terms of maximum speed? Or the best in terms of speed up to 100 km / h?
Therefore, let's decide that in this study, which was prepared by the guys with PC Gamers, the six fastest cars in GTA Online will be determined based on two parameters: racing in a circle (where there are accelerations, turns, braking) and maximum developed speed (on a long straight section).

It would seem that now you have a list of cars that are good for certain occasions in GTA Online. But don't rejoice too soon. For example, Tempesta And Zentorno good on the circle, however, in terms of maximum speed, they took only 26th and 20th place in the overall list. On the other hand, on lap the 811 and Banshee 900R took 24th and 30th place, while they are in the top in top speed.
The only car that appeared in both top sixes is Dewbauchee Vagner. Why is this car so good on the lap, in track conditions where there are turns, braking and acceleration? And what are the benefits for others? First, of all the cars that are in the top in a circle, Vagner the highest maximum speed. Secondly, the weight of this car is 1000 kilograms, which is average (this is true for racing with rivals who may try to knock you out, and the leader here is XA-21 with a weight of 1400 kilograms). Thirdly, with regard to handling, Vagner is really bad here, and steel is the most convenient to drive. Autharch And XA-21.
Fourth, price. Dewbauchee Vagne the best on the lap and the best in price ($1,535,000), the rest are much more expensive - Autarch ($1,955,000), XA-21 ($2,375,000) and RE-7B ($2,475,000).
What is the result? The best and fastest car in GTA Online, at the moment, can be called Dewbauchee Vagner. Yes, it has its drawbacks, such as difficult handling and relative lightness of the body, however, they are covered by high-speed capabilities and price.

It is very difficult to estimate which car is the fastest in GTA Online. Fast in what, in a short drag race? In a circular with corners? The one with the highest top speed? When driving in reverse, J-turning and accelerating to 60 mph?
There are many ways you can measure speed, but for this article I've focused on two - lap time and top speed. Below are five of the fastest cars in a standard circuit race in GTA Online (where handbrake control, cornering and acceleration affect lap speed). Then the five fastest cars in a straight-line race (where they all push their limits).
If we compare cars by these two indicators, we can roughly determine which car is the fastest in GTA Online. The following results are based on detailed and scientific testing that I have done on this YouTube channel. You can look at the docs with lap times and top speeds for a better understanding of my methodology.
This article was updated in March 2018 to reflect changes to The Doomsday Heist DLC and only focuses on raceable Supercars. The only exceptions are Rocket Voltic, Vifilante and Pariah from the Sport class. From the above data, you can understand which car you need for circuit racing with a lot of corners, and which one for racing in a straight line for speed. But the best in one situation is not necessarily the best in another. For example, the Tempesta and Zentorno are quite low in the list of the fastest supercars (26th and 20th respectively), despite the fact that they are in the top six in circuit racing. Also, the 811 and Banshee 900R don't perform very well in laps (24th and 30th), but they are leaders in top speed.
So what if you only need one car that fits every situation? The car is a jack of all trades to buy and use everywhere. Well, according to the results, there is only one candidate - a car that is in the top six in both places: the Dewbauchee Vagner.
Looking at lap times, there was almost a second of difference between Tempesta at 5th position and Autarch at 4th. For a track just a minute long, this is significant. Especially considering that the difference between Vagner at 1st place and Autarch at 4th is also almost a second. So let's take a look at the Big Four and see why Vagner has been so dominant.

As we already understood, Vagner is the only car that is present in both lists, but where are the rest of the "big four"? Behind Vagner with 126.75 mph comes Autarch with 125.5, 9th in the class. Next is RE-7B, 15th in class, 123.5. Behind him - XA-21, 17th place, 122.5. While the Autarch is relatively close, the Vagner beats them all on both counts.

One of the main characteristics that really affects the performance in the race is the weight. In GTA, the weight does not affect the behavior of the car, but it is taken into account in collisions. A heavier car will survive an accident more easily than a lighter one. The XA-21 with a weight of 1400 kg stands out in particular. Compared to the Autarch at 1300, the difference doesn't seem like much, but compared to the Vagner at 1000 and the lightest in class RE-7B at 880, the picture is quite different. If an opponent tries to take you out of the race, it will be very difficult for him to do so if you are driving an XA-21 rather than a RE-7B.

Management complexity
Some people drive better than others, but for any person a more controllable car is always an advantage. Even top riders will have more consistent results in a more manageable car. In this metric, the Vanger is actually the worst of the four, while the Autarch (often referred to as the "little Vagner") offers a much more stable ride. Not far in second place is the XA-21. It is more suitable for beginners, as it has impressive acceleration and less need to squeeze the maximum in the corners, where the other three cars take their results from.

Price is an important factor. The Vagner is almost 0.7 seconds faster than the Autarch, RE-7B and XA-21 in the circuit and has a higher top speed, but at the same time, if the car is much more expensive than the competition, it may be wiser to go for the cheaper option. Here again, the Vagner has the upper hand, as it costs GTA$1,535,000 versus the Autarch's $1,955,000, the XA-21's $2,375,000 and the RE-7B's $2,475,000. All this is the base cost, excluding upgrades and visual modifications, but for these machines they are still the same. None of the cars are cheap, but the Vagner offers a lot more for the price than the competition.

Old classics and new power
Any fan of adventures in San Andreas, as well as driving in this world, will be interested in rare cars in GTA 5. That is why the four-cylinder engine allows you to accelerate the car to a good rate of 233 km / h. Only now the acceleration immediately crosses out this plus. It will be possible to reach such a mark in 25-30 seconds at best. Before a sharp turn, you need to brake in advance. If this is not done, then the fragile DeClasse Asea will turn into a mess. 2-3 collisions are enough for her to become a pile of unnecessary scrap metal. But the Vapid Sandking XL does not suffer from this, because no accidents threaten this powerful SUV. Due to the high cross-country ability, the car is pleasant to use on the road. Here she feels great. The model also has disadvantages, and the main one is poor handling, especially on ordinary roads. The long wheelbase does not allow you to feel the car and this does not compensate for the powerful 6-cylinder engine. Plus, tires are easy to hit with a shot, even from a long distance.
Powerful representatives of the category
For players, the car map in GTA 5 can be a real find. It is on it that you should navigate in search of rare models and you may be lucky to get the Ubermacht Sentinel XS. This is a sports category coupe, but it is used more by a representative class. There is not a single flaw in the appearance, and all the details harmoniously complement each other. The Twin Turbo Inline 6 engine is responsible for high acceleration and top speed. The car cannot compete with the leaders in this regard, but it fully justifies its purchase. The disadvantages of the model include a weak handbrake, as well as subsidence of the bumper in a strong collision. At the same time, the front wheels jam, and it becomes difficult to go further.

Pegassi Zentorno, one of the fastest representatives of this category of transport, does not suffer from such problems. This SUV has a special coloring and flashing lights. The advantages include excellent behavior when driving off-road, a decent maximum speed of 225 km / h with such dimensions, rear-wheel drive. On the downside, poor behavior on ordinary roads, not the easiest handling and the F4V8 engine, which reduces some capabilities, should be noted.

The code for cars in GTA 5 will help you get the FIB Granger - an armored police SUV. It only appears when the user has earned four stars with their crimes. Then a huge number of police officers can prevent the theft, but this method of obtaining a car also has the right to life. As for the characteristics, they are the same as those of the rescue SUV. FIB Buffalo can be obtained by similar methods and in GTA Online, vehicles of this type are also present. The model is similar to the regular Buffalo, with the difference that it can carry out police missions due to the presence of the LCPD database. It often appears in story missions, which reduces its rarity.
A few words about motorcycles
Cars are the most popular vehicle among players and no one dares to argue with this, but in GTA 5 motorcycles also deserve some attention. This is especially true of the two main opponents in terms of speed. The first model is called "Akuma", which is translated from Japanese as "demon". There is also a third model, Hakuchou, which can match the parameters of the two mentioned leaders. It was added in one of the add-ons, and among motorcycle fans, the technique immediately earned popularity.
