Refreshed Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat - with a motor from the Demon. The third incarnation of the Dodge Challenger Dodge Challenger SRT8: specifications

15.10.2019

This car is a classic of the American automobile industry. The car is very popular in movies, TV shows and cartoons, representing one of the symbols of the American car industry. This model received a second life in 2008 after the release of the second generation.

Thirty-five years later, a new second-generation car rolls off the assembly line. The car is available in four trim levels: SRT-8, SXT, SE, R/T.

The muscle car has changed its appearance, acquired a new filling, and all the essential attributes of a modern car.

Specifications Dodge Challenger

As in the first generation of cars, the new cars have large and very powerful engines. The designers did their best, putting into this car just animal power.

The new model has four engine options available and all of them are more than powerful.

The most modest of them is a petrol V6 with a volume of 3.5 liters.

The motor develops a power of 250 hp. And torque 339 Nm.

This motor is equipped with the basic version of the SE.

The next in power is the V8 gasoline engine, with a volume of 5.7 liters and a power of 376 hp. and a torque of 548 Nm. This engine is included in the mid-level package - R / T.

And the most powerful version of the engine called the SRT Hellcat, developing 707 horsepower. This motor became available on cars in 2015.

As a gearbox, a four-speed manual, five-speed and six-speed are offered.

Exterior

In the second generation, the design and spirit of the muscle cars of the seventies are preserved to the maximum. At the same time, the aggressive and sporty image was complemented by modern touches. The car became more aerodynamic, got bigger wheels and sports brakes. The bumpers and grille are made in a more modern style.

The designers did a very thorough job of recreating that charismatic image of the Challenger from the seventies in a new quality, but preserving the old outlines as much as possible.

Interior Dodge Challenger 2018-2019

Above the interior of the car, the designers have worked no less painstakingly. Salon is very high quality and bright. The spirit of the car is felt down to the smallest detail, but at the same time, the interior of this muscle car is very modern and high-tech. For example, the dashboard is made in the spirit of the classic design of the old American radio, but at the same time it is completely digital, has a beautiful LED backlight and an unusual font for all symbols.

Inside, the car looks even more stylish and sporty. Finishing materials are selected very good quality. The car has comfortable sports seats covered with expensive leather. The style of interior decoration fully reflects the exterior design. Combinations of black and red leather with quality stitching make the interior very attractive and aggressively sporty.

Suspension

The front suspension of this car is independent, McPherson type, the rear suspension is independent multi-link.

In general, we can say that the suspension characteristics of the model are such that in the end it is perfectly controlled, despite its considerable dimensions (length - 5023 mm., Width - 1923 mm., Height - 1449 mm.) And weight (the curb weight of the car is 1735 kg.). The car holds the road very well, enters turns easily and smoothly, however, if you decide "", the coupe starts up in a controlled skid very responsively.

With the dynamic and sporty characteristics of the car, the designers managed to make it quite comfortable.

But still, comfort is not the main advantage. The name means "competing" (from the English "challange" - competition). The element of this car is competition and it was created for this. This is not just a transport, it is a gambler who is constantly in search of a drive, fight, sparring. Certainly this car has a racing spirit.

Price

Is it worth buying this car - everyone must decide for himself. The car is too specific and extraordinary for its merits to be stated only in numbers. This is a car with a great history, its unique charisma and style. Behind the wheel of this car you will not go unnoticed in any city in the world. The 2018 Dodge Challenger is beautiful, powerful and bold, drawing attention to itself with its striking appearance and aggressive exhaust sound.

Of course there are also disadvantages. First of all, this is a high consumption of gasoline, which in our time is extremely expensive. The very concept of a muscle car implies that this "beast" eats gasoline in huge quantities. This type of car economy is not peculiar.

On the other hand, there is no shortage of sporty and powerful cars in the automotive market today. Depending on the configuration, the car will cost from sixty to one hundred and twenty thousand dollars, and this is not counting the rather high operating costs. For this money, the buyer has the opportunity to choose from a fairly large range of good cars from leading automakers, among which there are much more competitive models.

Not everyone will choose this car for themselves. This car is not for everyone. She will undoubtedly find her connoisseurs, among those for whom this wild power, aggressive design, history, unique spirit and charisma of this car will mean much more than the shortcomings that can be found in it. If you are one of those people, then this car will give you a lot of joy and pleasure from driving.

The exterior of the first generation Dodge Challenger was designed by Carl Cameron, the same person who had recently designed the car. We can say that the overall concept and some developments in the field of design were borrowed from the Charger. Both of these cars are made in the spirit of American muscle cars and have a lot in common.

Video

SRT8 is a car from the past. The low stance, wide body and smooth rocking ride are all hallmarks of the style of bygone years. Models of this class were produced in the USA in the mid-sixties of the last century and were considered worthy representatives of the "golden age" of the American automotive industry. Five decades have passed since then, and the spirit of that time is still present in executive cars, limousines and Cadillacs made in the USA.

Modern version

Currently, the Dodge Challenger SRT8 is certainly a different car, but nostalgic notes are present in every detail of its exterior. Even the muffled sound of the engine seems to come from a distant past. In the Chrysler lineup, the Dodge Challenger SRT8 occupies one of the most prominent places: it still impresses with its unique fit and “muscular” contours. The car is extremely charismatic - having seen it once, it is impossible to forget.

Interior

If you look inside the car, its equipment is striking. All the details look enlarged, but at the same time the impression of general elegance is created. Quite large in size, the seats look neat and even a little stiff. Their ergonomic advantages are immediately visible - you don’t have to sit down to understand how comfortable they are. The first feeling that arises after examining the interior space is a sense of respect, everything is so soundly and logically placed. The elegant instrument panel integrates naturally into the center console. To the right is a roomy glove box, everything is like a regular car, but the Dodge has more grace, more charm and nobility.

The feeling of the integrity of the interior does not leave you, and impressions are added. The Dodge Challenger SRT8, whose interior can serve as a role model for many auto manufacturers, undergoes an update of interior components at least once a year. Such measures are fully justified, since the cost of a car ranges from 50 to 60 thousand dollars, and this obliges a lot. Although designers do not try to surprise the buyer with something. They just showcase a stylish American car.

Car in motion

Driving the Dodge Challenger SRT8 around town is a lot of fun. The car goes smoothly, without the slightest jerks, swaying slightly. Neither the driver nor the passengers have any tension: everyone is relaxed, the atmosphere in the car is relaxing. However, it is still necessary to control a powerful machine. It is worth pressing the accelerator a little - and 470 horsepower wakes up, acceleration occurs, and such that everyone in the cabin is pressed into the seatbacks. Feeling pleasant nonetheless, the restrained power of the engine evokes a sense of confidence.

Update

In 2010, the Dodge Challenger SRT8 has changed markedly. Spoilers have changed, black carbon parts have appeared. Aluminum rims are available in several sizes - from 17 to 20 inches. Heaters are integrated into the seats, and this is done not because it is cold in the cabin, but simply for greater comfort for the driver and passengers. In general, the car has become more sporty and acquired the features of mild aggressiveness. The branded double white stripe throughout the body has become less common, academic appearance has appeared in the exterior. Round headlights hid their upper edge under the front edge of the hood, and now a “cat's squint” has already formed. In the appearance of any car, you can find similarities with the features that are characteristic of people or animals.

Power units

In the same year, the car received two new engines, a re-tuned front suspension. There were also small changes in the design of the lower part of the body. It should be noted the new contours of the air intake at the bottom of the bumper, the gas tank cap has changed shape. The Dodge emblem on the hood was abolished. The interior has also been updated: a slightly different steering wheel has appeared. It is smaller in diameter, but now has more buttons and sensors.

The seats have slightly changed shape and began to remember several previous adjustment positions. This option is very convenient, as passengers change, and comfort is different for everyone. In addition to open interior devices, there are a number of latent, invisible ones. These include air conditioning, ventilation and heating systems.

Now the basic Dodge modification is equipped with a 3.6-liter engine with 305 hp. with., combined with a five-speed automatic. The power plant of the previous format also remained involved, because its power is 470 liters. With. is the best suited for lovers of extreme driving. The only drawback of this engine was and remains the excessive consumption of gasoline - over twenty liters per hundred kilometers. But with short trips along the avenues of the metropolis, you can not reckon with unforeseen expenses.

Dodge Challenger SRT8 Specifications

The car has been equipped with a 392 Hemi V8 engine since 2011. The power unit is very efficient, its efficiency rolls over.

Currently, the main parameters of the Dodge Challenger SRT8 are as follows:

  • engine - eight-cylinder, V-shaped;
  • power - 470 l. With. at 637 Nm;
  • acceleration from standstill to 100 km / h - 4.8 seconds;
  • transmission - at the choice of the buyer, automatic transmission, six-speed or manual 5-speed gearbox;
  • speed close to the maximum - 282 km / h;
  • fuel consumption - 20 liters in urban mode (all cylinders are on), 16 liters in the city on four cylinders and 10.2 liters on the highway (per 100 kilometers traveled);
  • vehicle length - 5022 mm;
  • body height - 1450 mm;
  • width - 2946 mm;
  • ground clearance - 122 mm.

Running Benefits

The Dodge Challenger SRT8, whose performance meets the highest standards, experiences virtually no lateral movement when cornering. The wheels confidently hold the road, which means that the car as a whole has a high level of safety. The rear suspension plays a decisive role in the stability of the car, which can rightfully be called intellectual. The five-link design has outstanding ability to adjust for potential wheel slip in tight corners. The car has a standard stability control system, but even it is not as effective and functional as the Dodge rear suspension when cornering at speed.

It should be noted that the Chrysler engineers did not set themselves the task of orienting the work of the rear suspension specifically to prevent the lateral drift of the car on steep turns, it began to act in this direction on its own. This can be called an accident, and most likely it is an accident, but the effect is obvious. At present, the phenomenon has already been studied and the data have been processed on a computer. In the future, the design of the rear suspension of the Challenger will be improved precisely in the direction of the mechanisms according to the principle of operation of the "course stability" system.

Experiments

When testing the model, it was artificially introduced into a skid, but the chassis found a way out of the situation, gradually leveling the roll and returning the wheels to the optimal position. The safety level of the car is marked with the highest five-star rating. It takes into account all the criteria, emergency cushions and belts, special spars under the engine, which dampen inertia at the moment of impact, and the engine can no longer crash into the passenger compartment, bringing incalculable destruction. The Dodge Challenger SRT8 is a good example of the balance between comfort and safety.

Restyling 2015

This year, in May, the New York Auto Show hosted a show of the updated Dodge Challenger SRT8, photos of which are posted in our material. The car went through a deep restyling, cardinal changes affected the technical parameters, and the exterior, body design and interior arrangement remained the same. The modernization of the chassis was aimed at finalizing mainly the front suspension, which, according to the designers, has not yet exhausted its potential. In the process of refinement, some drawings of the Dodge Challenger SRT8 were changed in order to improve individual nodes. The Dodge Chrysler concern has always followed the traditions of American style in the production of cars. The Challenger model is one of the most striking examples of their observance.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon has been officially unveiled. After a long wait and "promotion" in all possible ways in the media, the moment of truth came and the veil of secrecy was literally pulled off the completely redesigned coupe DodgeChallengerSRT in extreme versionDemon. Knowing the traction of a subsidiary of the company to the creation of powerful and very powerful cars, everyone was expecting some kind of fantastic car. Everyone who thought so and hoped for it was not mistaken! 2017 NewYorkInternationalAutoShow witnessed the triumph Dodge, and now we can, starting from official data, get to know the coupe closer and finally find out what is so special about the new version S.R.T.

The coupe is based on the well-known muscle car, but in order to replace the last word in the name, the engineers of the American company had to carry out a deep modification of many important components and assemblies of the car. Dodge now proudly claims to have created the world's most dynamic production car, which is also one of the fastest 1.4-mile sports cars on the market.

There is even documentary evidence for this:

November 21, 2016 at the Gainesville Raceway track, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon covered the ¼ mile in 9.650 seconds

The power of the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine has been increased from 707 hp. in the Hellcat variation up to 840 hp which are now available in the new SRT Demon. The boost was achieved by installing a larger, 2.7-liter supercharger, boost pressure eventually increased from 11.6 to 14.5 psi (psi), an increase of 25%. New pistons, connecting rods and valvetrain have been installed to maximize the performance of the two two-stage fuel pumps. But even this was not enough to achieve the required power. Further engine updates include an increase in maximum speed from 6.200 to 6.500 rpm, the installation of reinforced connecting rods and three air intakes (in the hood, in the headlight on the driver's side, another pipe is installed in the wheel arch).

Such power figures make this coupe deliver truly phenomenal performance. From 0 to 100 km / h Dodge accelerates in just 2.3 seconds, a quarter mile under ideal conditions can be completed in 9.65 seconds, and the maximum exit speed is 225 km / h!

An interesting fact, during the drag tests, The Demon set a Guinness World Record for being the first production car in history to have its front wheels off the asphalt during acceleration. That's it!

Guinness World Records Certificate

And to complete the picture, let's clarify, the acceleration on the SRT Demon is so intense that the driver will be pressed into the back of a sports seat with a force of 1.8g. Needless to say, there are no such indicators on any other production car in the world. But that's not all!

The Challenger SRT Demon is the first production vehicle to be able to run on 100+ unleaded high octane fuel for maximum performance. Initially set from the factory to “digest” 91-octane fuel, however, the new powertrain control unit can be reconfigured to work with sports fuel, after which 840 horsepower will appear in all its glory. Like the Hellcat, the Demon comes with two key fobs, one of which limits the power to around 500 hp, and the second, in red, opens up to 808 hp. With. on conventional fuel and already the apogee of coolness - 840 hp. combined with the operation of the control module.

Working with the overclocked engine is an updated TorqueFlite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic transmission. It includes an upgraded torque converter that provides an 18 percent increase in torque, which in turn works in conjunction with the system. TransBrake . This system blocks the transmission output shaft to hold the car in place before the start, allowing the engine speed to rise to the optimum 2,350 rpm for a perfect start. Together with Nitto NT05R racing tires (315/40 R18) and the TransBrake system that came from the world of drag racing, a powerful start in the first moments increased by 40% compared to the Hellcat.

SRT Demon dropped 90 kg compared to the same "Witch". These weight savings were achieved by removing the front passenger seat, rear seats, 16 speakers, using hollow anti-roll bars, aluminum brake calipers, and removing excess electrical wiring. A complete list of spare parts for the Dodge SRT Demon:

26 kg: removed front passenger seat and belt

25 kg: removed rear seats, headrests and floor mats

10 kg: scrapped (or rather not installed) 16 audio speakers, amplifier and wiring

9 kg: trunk trim, spare wheel cover were not installed

8.6 kg: reduced, hollow anti-roll bars used

8.1 kg: mastic, soundproofing, foam were not applied

7.2 kg: lightweight all-aluminum four-piston brake calipers and smaller diameter 360mm two-piece brake discs

7.2 kg: lighter wheels and hollow lug nuts were installed

1.8 kg: use telescopic steering column with manual adjustment, weight saving nearly 2kg

910 grams: removed parking sensors and module

For those customers who still want to return passenger seats and other benefits of modern auto-civilization, Dodge will meet them. The option will only cost $1 per item to install.

In addition to the car itself, the purchase includes a special set, called Dodge marketers "Demon Crate". The container includes 18 items, and tools branded with the Demon logo. The task of the kit is to prepare the coupe before racing on the drag strip, namely, the “change of shoes” of the front wheels from road tires to special track wheels with narrow tires. Each item from the container is limited and goes exclusively with the car.

Production of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon will begin this summer in a small run of 3,300 units, 3,000 for the US and 300 for the Canadian market. not yet announced.

Here is such an unusual muscle car. Did you like it?

Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Photo Compilation

The abbreviation SRT (Street and Racing Technology) is familiar to almost any owner of Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep. Speed, charisma, memorable appearance, but they sound like! Most often, Dodge Caliber SRT4 visits us, a third of all imported cars passed through the hands of our masters, but they are not the only ones. Not so long ago, I visited the comprehensive diagnostics and maintenance of the Dodge Challenger SRT8.

2. Maintenance

First of all, we interview the owner, finding out all the moments that worry him. It eats up rubber, the dipped beam on the left does not work, a couple of bulbs burned out in the back, plus regular maintenance. We drive the car on a lift and let the engine cool slightly.

Under the hood - beauty, there is so much space that a rather complicated repair does not raise any questions. From below, the beauty is even greater, I would like to separately mention the ingenious solution for the layout of the steering rack: literally three bolts and it is in your hands.

We raise the Dodge Challenger SRT8 on the lift and let the oil drain. For a revving and volumetric HEMI 6.1 engine, it requires less than seven liters; for replacement, we use the recommended Mobil 1 0W-40 oil, on which the car came from the USA.

We lower the car lower, fill in the oil and remove the air filter cover.

Poor filter, apparently in America they didn’t even think to change it when changing the oil! It is good that it did not crumble and did not fly further along the intake system, there have already been cases that ended very badly.

3. Troubleshooting

With the service completed, it's time to find out why the left low beam is not on and eats up the rubber. First of all, we check whether the current comes to the connector. Everything is fine here. We put a new xenon lamp D1S ... and there is no light again. There remains an ignition unit located under the headlight: there is no way to get close to it from above, from under the fender liner - too, so we remove the bumper and continue the diagnostics.

Yep, here are a couple of interesting things. There were someone's hands in the left headlight and they broke the connector on the ignition unit. We are carefully restoring ... everything works! In addition, the plastic absorber of the front bumper is slightly damaged, most likely someone was slightly overtaken, or someone pressed in the parking lot. We arm ourselves with a hairdryer and systematically return all sections to their place.

We put everything in place and drive the car to a four-post lift to check the wheel alignment.

We hang a sensor on each wheel, set them according to the level, make compensation by rolling, and then measure the castor. After 5 minutes, all the results are on hand: the convergence is slightly knocked down, there is no collapse either in front or behind, the castor is at the limit.

The salt of the situation is that the rear camber is not regulated at all, and in front - only with a set of special bolts. Most services would just shrug and let go of the Dodge Challenger SRT8 as it is, because you can’t argue with the manufacturer.

We made it easier: we paused the camber work and ordered from the USA two exclusive sets of silent blocks with eccentrics, designed for tuning enthusiasts. Depending on the requirements, these kits allow you to vary the rear camber within one and a half degrees in both directions, compensating for the deformation of the aluminum levers and rear suspension bushings. For the front, there are adjusting bolts with slots, the installation of which makes it possible to correct both the collapse and the castor.

We drive the car to the parking lot, hand over the keys and together we wait for the go-ahead from customs about the parcel crossing the border of the Russian Federation.

The third generation Dodge Challenger debuted on February 6, 2008 simultaneously at the Chicago and Philadelphia Auto Shows. Then in the USA it was estimated at 40,095 dollars, but after three days all the cars were sold out a year in advance.

Even before the start of production on May 8, all 2008 models, which were designated as Limited Edition 2008 SRT / 8, sold 6,400 copies, and production of 2009 models began in August. So the Dodge Challenger, like a Phoenix bird, rose from the ashes after a thirty-four-year break.

The Dodge Challenger is a two-door, front-engined, rear-wheel drive coupe that sits somewhere between the Pony car and Muscle car classes. The latter include charged versions of the Dodge Challenger.

Dodge Challenger 3 - Hollywood star

This iconic car has such a versatile design, like the model of the seventies of the last century, that the main roles in the films in which it starred were secured in advance. But not everyone is able to tame this "beast", even Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) from Fast and Furious 5, in the filming of which this car was used, admitted that this car scares him.

At first glance, it may seem that the body of the Dodge Challenger has the same shape as in the good old days. The same rooflines, false radiator grille, twin headlights and a solid horizontal taillight stripe. But upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that it looks more bulky and it really is, because it is taller and longer than its predecessor.

Overall dimensions of the Dodge Challenger, mm .: length - 5020, width - 1920, height - 1450, wheelbase - 2950. The weight of the Dodge Challenger has increased to 1883 kg (approximately 227 kg more than the previous model).

You can't call it a "rarity on wheels" as it comes equipped with a variety of electronic driver aids such as navigation, 'Keyless Go' keyless entry system, UConnect communication system, as well as airbags. Yes, and twenty-inch wheels, compared with the frail 14-15″ disks of the previous model, look very advantageous.

The Dodge Challenger is based on a modified (shortened) Chrysler LC platform, which is also used in the Dodge Magnum, Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300. The Dodge Challenger SE Rallye version can be distinguished by a double stripe on the hood and trunk, a spoiler and carbon inserts in the interior.

Dodge Challenger III engines

Under the hood of the Dodge Challenger SRT8, which was shown at the 2008 New York Auto Show, is a 6.1-liter Chrysler HEMI V8 power unit with 425 hp. and maximum torque of 569 Nm at 4,800 rpm. With this engine, the "Challenge" (as the name of the model is translated) can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.0 seconds.

The Dodge Challenger RT, demonstrated there, is equipped with a Chrysler HEMI 5.7 liter V8 gasoline engine. 370 hp and is paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. In 2009, it was modernized, the power was increased to 376 hp. and offered buyers an option with a manual six-speed gearbox, but acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h with this engine takes already 6.0 seconds.

In 2011, a new Dodge Challenger RT appeared on the market with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. and a power of 305 hp. The base model Dodge Challenger SE is equipped with a Chrysler SOHC 3.5 V6 powertrain. In 2009, the archaic automatic four-speed transmission was replaced with a five-speed.

In 2011, the Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 replaced the Dodge Challenger SRT8. It was equipped with a 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V8 engine. 470 hp The father of drag racing, Donald Glenn "Don" Garlits, known as "Big Daddy", in 1964, on a dragster with this type of engine, exceeded the speed threshold of 321.8 km / h. The outstanding races at Bonneville were also not without the 392 HEMI V8 engine. Thus, the legendary engine was imprinted in the name of the model.

The Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 is available with a standard automatic transmission or a TR Tremec 6060 manual transmission, the same as the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10. From standstill to hundreds of SRT8 392 accelerates in 4.0 seconds. To save fuel, its HEMI V8 engine is equipped with a half-cylinder cut-off feature. The maximum speed of the SRT8 280 is 290 km/h, depending on the type of transmission.

Interior Dodge Challenger SRT8 392

A three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock is large enough to fit comfortably in your hand. Trapezoidal instrument panel finished in chrome. EVIC (Electronic Vehicle Information Center) displays all the necessary information for the driver. The seats in the SRT8 392 are equipped with lumbar support. The driver's seat has a memory function.

In 2010, a special edition Dodge Challenger Mopar was produced by the Mopar court atelier worth $38,000 with automatic transmission and $39,000 with manual transmission. It can be recognized by the air intake on the hood and the grille covered with "black chrome". It is powered by the same legendary 5.7L HEMI V8 engine.

All 500 Dodge Challenger Mopar buyers received a special certificate with a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and a sketch of the car signed by Mark Trostle, head of the Chrysler Group's design team.

The racing version of the Dodge Challenger V10 Mopar Drag Pak was shown in November 2010 at the annual SEMA show, which takes place in Las Vegas, and the original Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket became available for order in December 2011.

At the Chicago Auto Show in 2013, fans of the model saw the Dodge Challenger RT Redline 2013. Unfortunately, not a single modification of the car is officially delivered to Russia. The price of the Dodge Challenger RT Redline in 2013 will be $31,990 - $33,990. Now fans of the brand can have the opportunity to own a modern classic.

All Dodge Challenger models are assembled at the Brampton plant (Brampton, Ontario, Canada).

At the motor show in New York 2014, the premiere of the updated sedan and coupe Dodge Challenger 2015 model year. Outwardly, the latter has not changed very much - the car received a different grille, retouched optics with LED sections, a different hood and new taillights.

But in the cabin, the 2015 Dodge Challenger got a completely new front panel, made in the same style as on the Charger, but with the center console turned towards the driver. Also, the interior of the model was equipped with a new steering wheel, a redesigned instrument panel with a 7-inch TFT on-board computer display and other door panels.

In addition, the 2015 Dodge Challenger coupe is equipped with an 8.4-inch touchscreen Uconnect multimedia system, a rearview camera, adaptive cruise control, as well as blind spot and forward collision warning systems.

The engines under the hood of the muscle car remained the same, but the six-speed automatic was replaced with a more modern ZF eight-speed transmission. Brembo brakes, 20-inch wheels and a system that allows the driver to change steering settings and accelerator pedal response are standard equipment on the top model modifications.

Plus, for the restyled version of the Dodge Challenger 2015, the Super Track Pak package became available for a surcharge, including a sports suspension, reconfigured steering, reinforced brakes and Goodyear F1 tires. Car sales in the United States will start in the fall of 2014, prices have not yet been announced.

In May, the manufacturer presented a restyled Challenger SRT and a top-end one with an engine with more than 600 hp.
