Where is the Volkswagen Jetta made? Where are Volkswagen cars assembled? Where the Volkswagen Beetle is assembled

If you delve into reference books and dictionaries, you can find out that the word Jet, which has English roots, hides several meanings. Jet is a strong jet, a stream. Geologists under the word see only their own - jet or, as it is also called, black amber (a type of coal). Engineers, some better than others - mean different things, but mostly something that uses the reactive principle. Under the heading "razg." many dictionaries in "Jet" give out "turbine" or even worse - "jet aircraft". In German, Jett is a decoration made of black glass ... And the Volkswagen developers built this word a little and since 1979 they began to call one of their models names. Jetta. Sounds flattering and promising, right? And is the essence that the car carries by itself consonant with this interweaving of meanings? This is what we have to find out.

The current Jetta was born in 2005. A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then… Ask what made us take a test model that has been produced for more than two years in a row? We answer! Moving its production to Kaluga. After all, since February, only Russian-assembled Jetts have been supplied to our market ...

The affair began back in 2003, when the Germans brought to market the long-awaited Golf of the fifth generation. At the first meeting, from the very first seconds of our acquaintance, I was imbued with warm feelings for him: he turned out to be too cool-minded. Tight, but not rigid. Accurate but not sharp. Confident. Calm. Unmistakable. Reference.

These features, along with the platform, were inherited by the sister. Jetta from the unlucky brother - Golf in short shorts, like an apple from an apple. In manners and behavior, she is also full of pragmatism, but (what a sin to conceal?) the feminine, whatever one may say, gives her originality. Take a closer look at her - a sort of young woman - a beauty ... From a good family: complaisant, with a good look and an even character. True, she still does not reach beauty, but she cannot be called a simpleton either. They sewed a sundress for her that is necessary, to match the temper: the “swan” looks not easy, but also discreet. Take a look, for example, at the chrome-plated radiator shield or the “arrows” extending from the “eyes” - stampings (my brother does not have them) ... Straight “princess”! ..

By the way, decorations are not without reason here. This is an attempt to make Golf ... Sorry ... Of course, Jetta more mature and mature. Agree, many thanks to precisely these attributes confuse it with a higher-ranking Passat. However, the size and proportions of the "baby" also bring confusion, bless you. And if such a “confusion” only plays into the hands of a cheaper car, then the owners of the “wind blowers” may begin to be jealous.

But back to our Kaluga ward ... The key is in the fist, trembling in the knees, in the pit of the stomach is the anticipation of a feeling of pleasure from a new rendezvous with my favorite golf chassis. Why only the chassis? Yes, because our Jetta with a 1.6-liter engine, strangled, moreover, to Euro 4 standards. Because of him, the poor fellow suffers from physical inactivity. Not strong, but still suffering. The “baby” is a little heavy for those 102 “horses” and 148 Newton meters that lurk under the gas engine hatch. Too heavy. The sedan is lazy on acceleration and stubborn as it can. Although, on the other hand, if you whip the odd-toed ungulates harder, you can jump very, very briskly and even impudently. But this is if you keep the tachometer needle within 4-6.5 "digital revolutions" per minute. However, if you want to "chess" in the stream, you need a more powerful motor. The benefit of the Jetta in Kaluga is produced with a 1.4-liter 140-horsepower TSI (220 Nm) and a 105-horsepower 1.9-liter TDI (250 Nm). These engines, by the way, can be selected with six-speed DSG preselective boxes.

Sprint to the coveted “hundreds” of our 1268 kg “Jet” performs in a long 12.2 seconds. But a 55-liter tank is enough for a long time ... It requires a little motor for its work: in a combined cycle, if you don’t really tear, for a hundred kilometers no more than 7.5 liters of 95th octane flies into the pipe. For a hundred kilometers on the highway, the car consumes six liters, in the city - 9.9.

And it is suitable not only for everyday measured trips on rolled asphalt roads, but also for driving to the limit. Moreover, the undercarriage of unpaved potholes and potholes does not shy away at all - for Russia, what is needed (our cars, by the way, have more ground clearance than European ones). The suspension does not annoy with excessive shaking and breakdowns either. Banks in turns are minimal. On a straight line, the Golf Jetta is extremely stable, reliable in cornering and pleases with neutral steering. That's just regular tires Continental SportContact 2 is not very suitable for her. Reactions are smeared.

The performance of the electric booster and the magnitude of the feedback force is generated depending on the speed. In the parking lot, the “steering wheel” can be turned with at least one finger, with a further increase in speed, the steering wheel pleasantly “gets heavier”. But electric power amplifiers still fall short of the best examples of hydraulic analogues. With active taxiing, although it is a little, it still “shuts up”, and more information about the microrelief of the road and the angle of rotation of the wheels on the steering wheel could be more ... However, what is there does not destroy the feeling of unity with the car.

The ergonomics of the workplace (what to discuss, it has been said more than once) has been worked out for five plus. A medium-sized steering wheel (adjustable in height and reach) fits perfectly in your hands, there are enough adjustment ranges for your eyes, and with what relish it dives from position to position the mechanical five-step shift lever ... You will swing. The picture is slightly spoiled by a long-stroke uninformative clutch. When starting off, the drive often sends the “little Muck” (we are talking about the motor) into a knockout. However, this is a matter of habit. I changed tactics a little, revved a little more than usual, at the start and the order. Visibility forward and to the sides is excellent, but you don’t feel the stern at all, here parking sensors are simply necessary. The Jetta is ideal for long trips: you don’t get tired behind the wheel, and there is enough space in the back even for tall, high-browed riders - neither the knees nor the tops of even the 190-centimeter tall ones rest anywhere. Honor and praise to ergonomists!

But what about the quality? Did the assembly line move damage the sedan? Yes, it seems it shouldn’t ... After all, in Kaluga, Jetts are assembled according to the SKD (Semi Knocked Down) protocol. Bodies on a tape are delivered completely ready. And ours only hang on them separately brought front and rear axles, power units and some other small things. Sedans are filled with technical fluids, of course, here. After assembly, the car and all its systems are subjected to final testing: the electronics, as it should be, are interrogated by the computer for faults. The engine, transmission and chassis are tested on running drums and a dynamometer track. The body is tested for leaks in the sprinkling chamber, and the quality of the paintwork is checked in the light tunnel.

But not everything went smoothly, as expected. The assembly of our copy hung in the air a couple of questions ... The first of them is the “cicada” in the front panel, which turned out to be a rattling instrument panel glass. But you can still put up with this nonsense, a much more significant flaw is the driver's door that is not adjusted in height. In the opening, the “gate” stands with a slight skew - along the window sill line and the glass frame it can be seen that the back of the “door” is one and a half millimeters lower than it should be. Somehow not at all in a Volkswagen way. Nothing if it didn't prevent the door from opening without jamming. What is this? Volkswagen losing ground? Or guided by double standards? Whatever it is, hopefully it won't happen again in the future.

Would I choose Jetta as my constant companion? Perhaps yes. But in a marriage with her, I would certainly feel ashamed from time to time that it pulls “to the left” to more temperamental and burning representatives of the C-class. Yes, a mature chassis, yes ergonomics, and a spacious rear sofa, and a bottomless 527-liter "chest" at the stern ... But this companion is too correct. So correct that from this correctness sometimes it breathes boredom and can even be cold. I'll tell her yes when I'm a little older and calmer. And richer. After all, 578,969 "wooden" for the weakest of the Jett family is no joke.

The German Volkswagen is known not only for its quality and attention to detail, but also for the beauty created by designers and embodied in the company's cars. Jetta is no exception. The car, which has been created for more than 40 years, has gone through many transitions from generation to generation, improving its driving performance, its appearance with each of these generations can rightfully be considered one of the best creations of the concern.

Place of assembly

The official production and sale of the Jetta on the territory of the Russian Federation began only in 2008, along with the opening of a conveyor for the production of the fifth generation of the car in Kaluga. The car was produced both with gasoline engines (with a volume of 1.4 to 2.5 liters) and with diesel engines (with a volume of two liters). Gearbox choices ranged from five- and six-speed manuals to six-speed automatics and six- and seven-speed semi-automatics. The Euro NCAP test showed the maximum five stars of safety for the Jetta.

The sixth generation has also recently been produced in Kaluga. It makes little sense to paint the chassis, since it has not changed much since the fifth generation.

Build quality

It is significant that the owners do not have any objective quibbles about the assembly of the car - even the Russian assembly deserves praise from satisfied customers. The interior plastic does not start to creak even after prolonged use, the car is not as susceptible to corrosion as some representatives of this segment, wide gaps and other body welding defects in individual batches were also not noticed by the owners.

However, if we take into account that we live in Russia and we have to deal with Russian roads, then one serious drawback is revealed, which should have been worked on at the Kaluga auto plant - the landing of the car is quite low. Reworking the suspension would not have prevented this car from getting a more ideal status in its segment.

In the post-war years, when the factories of the automaker were under the control of the British administration, Henry Ford could become the owner of the company, but the deal did not take place - the Americans considered that the company "was not worth a penny", and their "people's" car "Beetle" absolutely did not correspond to technical parameters that must be presented to passenger cars. In subsequent years, VW showed how deeply wrong the overseas automotive gurus were.

In the early 50s, the automaker produced about 65% of all cars in Germany, which provided the company with a turnover of 1.4 billion dollars. The golden years were the 70s, when the company created two legendary models at once - the Passat and the Golf, where the latter became the founder of a whole class of cars.

The VW Group includes brands such as Volkswagen, Skoda, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Audi, Seat, Bentley, as well as Scania and MAN truck companies.

Where are VW cars assembled?

Initially, the production of "folk" cars was carried out directly in Germany, but in the course of the development of the brand, factories began to appear on other continents, in particular in South and North America, as well as in Africa. The pioneer was the company's plant, built in the city of San Bernard, in Brazil, where for more than 15 years they have been producing the legendary Beetle, and now there is one of the main offices responsible for the design of future brand cars.

Currently, Volkswagen automobile plants are located in 12 major countries, including: Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Mexico, South Africa, Russia, Poland, Belgium, Spain, the Czech Republic and a number of other countries. The company's revenue over the past few years far exceeds the mark of 60 billion euros, which allows the automaker to be called the largest automaker in the world.

The model range of the company consists of the following models:

Where is the Volkswagen Golf assembled?

VW Golf is the founder of golf-class cars, the latest generation of which is currently produced in Germany, in the city of Wolfsburg. At the same time, most of the cars of the previous generation were produced in Russia and Brazil.

Where is the Volkswagen Jetta assembled?

VW Jetta is another popular model of the company, which combines the spaciousness of a sedan and the charge of a hatchback. Cars designed for the European and American markets are made in Mexico, but the Russians are offered models made in Russia at a plant in Kaluga.

Where are the Volkswagen Caddy assembled?

VW Caddy is an excellent commercial vehicle that is actively acquired by large companies, as well as small entrepreneurs. The assembly of the model is carried out in Germany, as well as in Russia, while in the first case the cars are delivered to the European, and in the second - to the Russian and Eastern markets.

VW is famous for its attitude to the quality of cars produced, so regardless of the country and city in which this or that model of the company is produced, it certainly meets strict corporate standards. This is achieved through the use of modern equipment, as well as strict quality control at all stages of assembly.

Everywhere in the world, Volkswagen cars are recognized for their unique appearance and quality of parts. With such success, for the past 40 years, the company has been releasing one of its famous models - the Jetta. This machine has gone through many changes, and a considerable number of transitions from generation to generation. Today, official dealers of the brand offer this model with improved driving characteristics and a modernized design. Each generation of this car is also loved and appreciated by Russian buyers.

For many, the fact that the Volkswagen Jetta is assembled for the Russian market is important. On the territory of Russia, the official assembly and sale of this “German” model started in 2008. Here, at an enterprise in Kaluga, a conveyor for the production of the fifth generation of the machine was opened. The plant is equipped with the latest equipment, so cars are assembled here according to all necessary standards. The Volkswagen Jetta model is produced with both diesel and gasoline power plants. The volume of the engine varies from 1.4 to 2.5 liters. Russian buyers were offered a choice of a sedan with five- and six-speed "mechanics", with a six-speed "automatic" and a six-seven-speed semi-automatic. In the EURO NCAP tests, this model received five stars for safety. I also assemble the sixth generation of the Volkswagen Jetta at the Kaluga plant.

Where else is the model made?

Sedan Volkswagen Jetta is considered a people's car. At least, the manufacturer positions it this way for European and American buyers. For Russian consumers, this "German" is more a tribute to fashion. The new Volkswagen, in addition to the Russian Federation, is assembled in another country - this is Mexico.

The quality, safety and service life of the car depends on where the Volkswagen Jetta is produced. Mexico is the main market for this model. In addition, the Mexican version of the Jetta is delivered to the USA. Cars that are assembled in Mexico are more expensive than domestically assembled cars. If you look, the Russian assembly is almost no different from the "overseas". The Kaluga plant is equipped with the latest technology. At the welding shop, the enterprises prepare the initial design of the sedan, and in the paint shop the car is painted, after which it is sent to the drying chamber. Only after all these procedures begins the production of the Jetta.

Domestic build quality

Before proceeding to the reviews of the owners of the German sedan, I would like to note that the Conceptline equipment was created specifically for the Russian market. The car is offered with two types of transmission: five and six-speed gearbox. This version of the sedan will cost you 733,000 rubles. Volkswagen Jetta is perhaps one of those cars that has no negative reviews. Now we are talking about the Jetta of the Russian assembly. The owners are quite satisfied with the domestic car, they say that after the operation of the vehicle, even the plastic does not start to creak.

In the case of this model, it does not matter at all where the Volkswagen Jetta is produced, because the quality is equally good. The Russian version of the sedan is not as susceptible to corrosion as other cars in this segment. The owners did not notice defects in the welding of the body and in the gaps of the vehicle. But, nevertheless, there is one drawback of the Russian "German" - this is a low landing. Therefore, we recommend that the Kaluga enterprise work on improving the car's suspension so that it can be operated one hundred percent on Russian roads.

A lot of cars are assembled in Russia, and recently there have been more and more of them. Admirers of some brands fundamentally refuse Russian-made cars. Say, ours will make everything worse and not as reliable as foreigners. Of course, it has always been believed that the performance of the car is affected by its assembly. This concept can be accepted, but it is better not to apply it to machines. After all, if the model is assembled in the country in which it will be sold, then it is better adapted for local roads. Who better knows the flaws of autobahns or potholes than Russian engineers?!

Today I would like to talk about the Volkswagen Jetta. This car is getting more and more popular every year. Let's look at how she gained such confidence, what appearance they gave to the model and where the Volkswagen Jetta is assembled. In general, do our engineers produce a German Jetta model on a par with European ones, or is it worth trusting folk principles.

Countries where the Volkswagen Jetta is assembled

A new version of the Volkswagen Jetta is created in only two countries. Both modifications of the model are available to our consumer. They are collected in Russia and Mexico.

Mexican copies are being prepared for the European and American markets. Compared to our assembly, they are somewhat more expensive. But, our consumer should not pay attention to such standards. After all, Russian roads and European autobahns are heaven and earth.

To the question of who assembles the Volkswagen Jetta for our market, the answer is very simple. It is made in Kaluga. We want to say right away that only cars of this assembly are best adapted to our roads and the driving of Russian drivers.

Judging by the test drives, the Mexican assembly does not differ at all from the Russian one. Both enterprises are equipped with the latest technology. All metal parts are brought from Germany, and there are more than 70% of them in the car.

Representatives of Volkswagen in the Russian Federation set a price for the basic equipment of the car at 648 thousand rubles. It comes with a 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 105 horsepower.

Our engineers have come up with a Conceptline package especially for the Russian market. The transmission here can be of two options - a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. This is fully consistent with the European version of the car. Still, for Russia, the car is equipped with a full set of security, power steering, infotainment system, air conditioning and electric drive.

For the Russian market, they came up with a special winter package for the Volkswagen Jetta model. It includes heated mirrors, washer nozzles, a spare wheel and wheels marked 6J * 15 with decorative caps. The buyer can choose the color scheme of the car from eight options. The most popular of these are "Tornado" red, "Storm" blue and "Topaz" brown.

The second package of options, which is produced by Russian engineers, is the Comfort package. It includes all of the above options, but with additional heated seats.

Also, the Technic version is available to our buyer. It allows you to install a towing protection and anti-theft system with an additional immobilizer, CD / MP3 player and USB wires for iPod.

The cost of Russian trim levels Volkswagen Jetta

Previously, the Trendline variant was used as the basic equipment. Due to the Russian assembly, it has fallen in price and costs 688 thousand rubles.

Conceptline modification will cost its customers from 733,000 rubles, and Highline is the most expensive. Russian engineers equipped it with a 1.4-liter diesel engine. It produces 122 horsepower, which is quite enough for our roads.

As you can see, our masters did their best. They assemble a car no worse than the Mexicans. Therefore, when buying a model, do not worry about its durability and quality.
