What threatens the oxidation of the terminals?

What to do if the terminal is oxidized?

No lithol will help here. Greases cannot deal with oxidation, they can only prevent it. Therefore, it is necessary to clean the terminal mechanically (with a file or sandpaper) from oxide, fix it well on the battery terminal, and only then lubricate it.

How to lubricate the terminals?

To lubricate the terminals, battery experts recommend the use of greases, as they stick well and do not wash out over time. Sprays, in this respect, are much inferior to them, quickly washing out after rain. By the way, using Litol to lubricate the terminals is the last century. It is better to use modern analogues that have their own color and more elastic structure.

Outside or inside?

So many motorists confuse one important detail - they smear the terminal inside. Or having bought a battery, they are glad that the terminals are treated with grease. Read above, it interferes with conduction. Never do that. It is necessary to lubricate from the outside of the terminals.

Do modern terminals protect against oxidation?
