CORDIANT ROAD RUNNER
The tire's rigid shoulder ribs and reinforced center ribs provide both good directional stability and precise handling when manoeuvring. An extensive system of drainage grooves improves the drainage of water from the contact patch, which increases the level of grip of the tire with the road and improves braking performance. Traditionally, Cordiant developers have not forgotten about such an important characteristic of modern tires as comfort: the original tread design helps to reduce the noise emitted by the tire when driving. The tire is produced in 11 sizes with landing diameters from 13 to 16 inches and with speed indices T (up to 190 km/h - size 155/70R13) and H (up to 210 km/h).
CORDIANT ALL-TERRAIN
An all-season tire designed for all weather conditions and different types of road surface. The tire is designed for the widest range of modern passenger cars. The characteristics that were paid attention to during its development are traditional: good handling, high level of comfort, low coefficient of rolling resistance, extended service life. The rigid central rib is designed to provide a high level of directional stability of the tire when driving at high speed, and the longitudinal ribs in the shoulder areas - stability when maneuvering. Deep longitudinal grooves contribute to the rapid removal of water from the contact patch (its large area provides good grip on dry roads and increases tire life), and a rubber compound with a high silicon content has a positive effect on. DUNLOP DIREZZA DZ102
This tire is aimed at production cars with sporty performance. with carbon and silica content provides faster tire warm-up, which improves tire grip from the first minutes of driving. This same compound, combined with the tread shoulder design, enhances dry and wet braking performance. The design and technological changes used in the tire are focused on improving hydroplaning resistance, dry and wet grip and braking power. NOKIAN HAKKA C2
Nokian's new tire, launched this spring, is designed for light trucks and minibuses. The steel breaker pack design is optimized for high loads and intensive use in difficult conditions, while the new Aqua Grip C tread compound is designed to provide the necessary grip on wet road surfaces. In addition to comfort, the Nokian Hakka tire range has a low rolling resistance coefficient, which contributes to fuel economy, a factor that is especially important in commercial vehicle use. The new Nokian Hakka C2 tires use the same tread pattern for both lighter and heavier vehicles. The tire is produced in 20 sizes with landing diameters from 14 to 17 inches.
VIATTI BOSCO A/T
This line of tires with a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern is designed for SUV segment vehicles and is intended for use on roads with improved solid and light road surfaces. It is also allowed to operate the tire in slush and melting snow conditions. The patented rubber compound provides variable sidewall stiffness, allowing the tire to adapt to road conditions. The model has an original tread design that provides resistance to aquaplaning (longitudinal grooves), reduces noise levels (transverse grooves of various geometries), and stabilizes the tire's movement in a straight line and during maneuvering (rigid central rib and reinforced longitudinal rows of blocks). Patency is ensured by wide transverse grooves and lugs in the shoulder parts. Depending on the profile width, Bosco A/T tires have two tread pattern options: tires with a width of 215 mm and above have an additional central stiffener. The tire is produced in 20 standard sizes with landing diameters from 15 to 18 inches and can be operated in a temperature range from -45 to + 55°C.
VIATTI STRADA ASIMMETRICO
This tire with an asymmetric non-directional tread pattern is a joint product of German engineers, Italian designers and Russian manufacturers and is adapted to the conditions of Russian roads and the local climate. The asymmetric tread pattern optimizes the tire's grip on the road (both dry and wet) and handling in a straight line and when maneuvering. Due to the variable stiffness of the sidewalls, the tire has the ability to adapt to the changing nature of the road surface. Wide longitudinal grooves effectively remove water from the contact patch, which increases the tire's resistance to hydroplaning. The outer side of the tread is "responsible" for dry handling, while the inner side optimizes wet handling (this is facilitated by reinforcements in the transverse grooves and drainage of the longitudinal and transverse grooves). The micro-protrusions located in the grooves of the inner side of the tread help to reduce the noise emitted by the tire. The range includes 31 standard sizes with landing diameters from 13 to 18 inches.
Today, many tires of well-known brands are replicated by less reputable manufacturers. They are usually cheaper, while the design largely repeats the original. How different are these tires? To shed light on this issue, let's compare two winter studded models: the Japanese Yokohama Ice Guard IG55 and the Russian Cordiant Snow Cross.
Structural features
Both tires received a symmetrical directional tread pattern, characterized by some aggressiveness. Their design concepts are very similar to each other, the differences are observed only in small things. For example, in siping: in Yokohama Ice Guard IG55, it is reinforced, and in addition to small wavy notches on the blocks, there are diagonal sipes intersecting with them.
In both cases, the central rib is solid in the shape of a herringbone. This allows you to achieve good raking abilities and stabilize the trajectory. Along the edges of it are macroblocks with side recesses - they contribute to quick braking and improve cross-country ability on winter roads.
As for the studding of the compared tires, there are some differences in it. In the Cordiant Snow Cross, the spikes are concentrated mainly in the shoulder area, and are rare in the medal area. Yokohama Ice Guard IG55 has studded not only the lateral part, but also macroblocks of stiffening ribs. There are also differences in the very structure of the studs: in the first case, they are double-flanged anchors in the shape of a snowflake, and in the second, they have diagonal microgrooves around. Thus, the model from Yokohama has better grip on ice and higher slip resistance.
The structure of the shoulder areas of the studied tires is approximately identical, which indicates good maneuverability and ease of cornering. Also, both of them are equipped with rather similar drainage systems with a characteristic branching, therefore they have high self-cleaning capabilities.
Polymer compositions
Yokohama Ice Guard IG55 rubber contains an increased concentration of silica for increased adhesion and endurance. It also contains natural orange oil to achieve elasticity even in severe frosts. The Cordiant Snow Cross tread has received a two-layer structure: the lower layer is stronger and more rigid, which guarantees resistance to deformation, and the upper one is soft and elastic, due to which a smooth ride is achieved. The polymer mixture also includes silicon compounds that protect against hardening at low temperatures.
Summarizing
From a comparison of the two samples, we can conclude that both models are suitable for operation in winter conditions and provide quite good driving characteristics. However, the tire from the reputable Japanese brand Yokohama still has some advantages. In particular, improved grip and increased slip resistance, as well as longer mileage.
The Russian company Cordiant, which produces tires for a wide variety of vehicles, was founded in 2005. Since then, it has become one of the leaders in the sale of tires in Russia. And if the first two brands were long-time competitors, now Bridgestone has demonstrated an improvement in the characteristics of its products, approaching the recognized market leaders.
This assessment of summer tires is carried out on a hundred-point scale. We will evaluate, first of all, driving performance, comfort, as well as technical characteristics and price. We deliberately left aside the design assessment because, firstly, this question is rather an amateur one, someone likes one tread pattern, others another. Secondly, the ten-year-old fashion is now gone, when everyone wanted either low-profile treads or with a pattern “like on racing cars”. Now everyone is interested in more practical questions: how it rides, how it slows down, how long it will last on our roads, etc.
12th place Premiorri Solazo V.
The only serious advantage of this model is the low price achieved due to production in Ukraine. This became possible thanks to a contract between Premieri and the Ukrainian plant Rosava.
Primiorri Solazo has been produced since 2010, at the same time deliveries to the Russian market began.
The car “shod” in Solazo does not give a feeling of comfort, the steering wheel is extremely light, there is absolutely no feedback from the steering wheel. In order to clearly control the lane, you have to make a lot of unnecessary movements and twist the steering wheel at large angles.
With sudden changes, the reaction to the steering wheel is delayed, control over handling is reduced, up to a complete loss. Braking is equally uncertain on dry and wet pavement.
The softness indicators are very good, any irregularities are extinguished, but at the same time the rumble from the tread is very noticeable. The rolling quality is not up to par, in neutral the speed begins to drop rapidly. But when driving on the dirt road give a feeling of confidence.

In terms of the level of communication with the steering wheel and information content, it is very similar to the Premieri, it also needs constant steering. Although at low speeds the lane changes are quite clear, especially at the beginning of the maneuver, although at the end there is still a slight skid. On wet pavement, when changing lanes, the demolition of the front of the car is felt, requiring a quick reaction from the steering wheel.
Comfort from "Viatti" is also very doubtful, a pulsating noise is constantly heard, the slightest bumps in the road are transmitted to the body by vibration and shocks. With equal inflation, the rear wheels feel stiffer. Good rolling contributes to fuel economy. On a dirt road, they hold confidently.
+ Pros: Confident control of the machine on the primer.
- Cons: Unsatisfactory traction and poor maneuvering on any surface. Lack of sufficient comfort.

Despite the average test results, the model made in the Philippines is not offered at the average price, which certainly does not speak in its favor. Appeared on the Russian market since 2010.
The braking performance is almost identical to that of the Viatti, and on wet roads it is an absolute outsider in the rankings.
At high speeds, they clearly hold the road, but when maneuvering, there is not enough information content and taxiing is required. With sharp changes, there is clearly not enough angle of rotation, which is why you have to turn the steering wheel at large angles.
At top speeds, it gives a deep skid, which can be corrected by a driver with good response.
On a flat road, the tread makes moderate noise, which increases noticeably on rough pavement and on small bumps. Vibrations from small bumps are clearly transmitted to the body.
Yokohama tires showed the best results in terms of rolling, at any speed they give good fuel economy. On a dirt road, they demonstrate not confident behavior.

"Cordiant-Sport 2" first appeared on sale in 2010, then it was replaced in 2012 by a modernized version.
The tires showed the worst dry braking performance. The difference in stopping distance between the leader of the test and Cordiant was almost 6 meters. At the same time, on wet surfaces, the performance is noticeably better and can claim a satisfactory rating.
At high speeds, they confidently keep a straight line, but the information content is still not enough, moreover, there is a delay in reactions.
On a dry road, extreme maneuvering at medium speeds is possible; attempts to do it at a higher speed are also very difficult due to low information content and increased steering angles. When maneuvering on wet pavement, at the beginning, the front wheels slip outward, as if straightening the trajectory, because of this, you have to twist the steering wheel to the desired angle, which again is not just because of poor information content.
Tires dampen large bumps well, but at medium ones, they transmit shaking to the body. And with small cracks or roughness, they begin to make a distinct noise.
They roll poorly, which negatively affects fuel consumption. Driving on a primer with Cordiant-Sport 2 is a dubious pleasure.

What definitely should not be done on these tires is sudden changes of lanes. On dry surfaces, you have to limit the speed due to a noticeable drift of the front wheels at the beginning of the maneuver and skidding of the rear at the end. On wet surfaces, the situation is a little better, but the picture is spoiled by large turning angles and sharp breaks into a skid when exiting it.
Tires have demonstrated the traditional Goodyear level of comfort, soft and quiet movement. "Eficient" help to save fuel, especially in extra-urban driving cycle. Departure to the primer without special need is not recommended.

Holds up well at high speeds. The main distinguishing feature of the Dunlop SP Sport is a clear reaction to the steering wheel, it is very easy to correct the course. On a dry surface, sharp maneuvering can be carried out at medium speed. Instantly reacts to the steering wheel at the beginning of the maneuver, though then there is a slight demolition of the front end, with a simultaneous drop in the information content of the steering wheel. On wet roads, maneuverability is improved and emergency lane changes can be made at higher speeds. On dry pavement, maneuvers at speeds above average are permissible. Light skids at the exit of the maneuver are leveled out quite simply. A wet road has practically no negative impact on the nature of management and the success of rebuilding.
