BRIDGESTONE RFT

Bridgestone's Run-Flat tires, which keep moving even in the event of a puncture, are a strategic product for the company. The range of summer tires with this technology this year includes the following models: Potenza RE050A (20 sizes with rim diameters from 17 to 19 inches), Potenza S001 (3 sizes with rim diameters from 17 to 19 inches), Turanza ER300 (6 sizes with rim diameters from 16 to 18 inches), Dueler H/P Sport (6 sizes with 19" and 20" bores) and Dueler H/L 400 (2 sizes with 18" and 19" bores).

CORDIANT SPORT 3

As for the innovations used in this Cordiant model, these are Wet-Cor with an optimized drainage system, which ensures tire stability both on dry and wet surfaces, and Dry-Cor, which prevents the tire from slipping and its deformation in a turn, which ensures maneuvering accuracy, and the Sport-Mix rubber compound, which makes it possible to drive at high speeds ... The very sports concept of the tire (Speed-Cor) is oriented towards the latter. The connected elements of the shoulder rib provide rigidity to this part of the tire structure, which has a positive effect on the clarity of control when maneuvering, and the design of the rigid central ribs provides good directional stability. Originally shaped grooves on the inside and outside of the tire increase the speed limit for the onset of hydroplaning. The tire is produced in 9 sizes with landing diameters of 15 and 16 inches and with a speed index V (up to 240 km/h).

CORDIANT ROAD RUNNER

The tire's rigid shoulder ribs and reinforced center ribs provide both good directional stability and precise handling when manoeuvring. An extensive system of drainage grooves improves the drainage of water from the contact patch, which increases the level of grip of the tire with the road and improves braking performance. Traditionally, Cordiant developers have not forgotten about such an important characteristic of modern tires as comfort: the original tread design helps to reduce the noise emitted by the tire when driving. The tire is produced in 11 sizes with landing diameters from 13 to 16 inches and with speed indices T (up to 190 km/h - size 155/70R13) and H (up to 210 km/h).

CORDIANT ALL-TERRAIN

An all-season tire designed for all weather conditions and different types of road surface. The combination of tread design features of modern rational design provides an optimal balance of safety, dynamics and comfort. The tire is available in 7 sizes with bore diameters of 15 and 16 inches and with speed indices S (up to 180 km/h - size 235/75R15), T (up to 190 km/h) and H (up to 210 km/h).

CORDIANT OFF-ROAD

An all-season tire, the development of which focused on stability in difficult road conditions on any surface: sand, clay, mud, deep snow. The tread has original expanding grooves - a solution that promotes self-cleaning of the tire from dirt. One of the advantages of the tire is its increased cross-country ability. The tire is produced in 8 sizes with landing diameters of 15 and 16 inches and with a speed index Q (up to 160 km/h).

DUNLOP SP TOURING T1

The model is intended for passenger cars of small and medium class. When designing it, the developers tried to achieve an optimal balance between handling, comfort and long service life. The first indicator is provided both by a large area of the tire contact patch with the road (, and at the level of wear resistance), and by the tread design: the longitudinal central rib contributes to the stability of the tire when driving. As for wear resistance, a new polymer has been used in the rubber compound, which increases this indicator without compromising grip. Five different tread sectors, coupled with the use, made it possible to achieve an optimal level of comfort. The tire is presented in 22 sizes with landing diameters from 13 to 16 inches and with speed indices T (up to 190 km/h) and H (up to 210 km/h).

DUNLOP SP SPORT LM704

The tire is designed for the widest range of modern passenger cars. The characteristics that were paid attention to during its development are traditional: good handling, high level of comfort, low coefficient of rolling resistance, extended service life. The rigid central rib is designed to provide a high level of directional stability of the tire when driving at high speed, and the longitudinal ribs in the shoulder areas - stability when maneuvering. Deep longitudinal grooves contribute to the rapid removal of water from the contact patch (its large area provides good grip on dry roads and increases tire life), and a rubber compound with a high silicon content has a positive effect on. The tire is presented in 36 sizes with landing diameters from 13 to 18 inches and with speed indices H (up to 210 km/h), V (up to 240 km/h) and W (up to 270 km/h).

DUNLOP DIREZZA DZ102

This tire is aimed at production cars with sporty performance. with carbon and silica content provides faster tire warm-up, which improves tire grip from the first minutes of driving. This same compound, combined with the tread shoulder design, enhances dry and wet braking performance. Wide longitudinal and transverse grooves in the central area of the tread effectively remove moisture from the contact patch and increase the tire's resistance to hydroplaning. The nylon layer and belt used in the construction provide rigidity of the tread, which increases the stability of the tire.

MATADOR MP 47 HECTORRA 3

It replaced such models as the MP 46 Hector ra 2, MP 85 Hector ra 4×4 and MP 44 Elite 3. The design and technological changes used in the tire are focused on improving hydroplaning resistance, dry and wet grip and braking power. The tread uses a rubber compound of varying degrees of hardness, which made it possible to optimize the area of the contact patch. The new design of the closed outer shoulder of the tire has reduced the noise level. The MP 47 Hectorra 3 tire is available in 6 sizes with rim diameters from 17 to 20 inches and with a Y speed index (up to 300 km/h). And the MP 47 Hectorra 3 SUV version is available in 8 sizes with landing diameters from 18 to 21 inches and with speed indices V (up to 240 km/h) and Y (up to 300 km/h).

NOKIAN HAKKA C2

Nokian's new tire, launched this spring, is designed for light trucks and minibuses. The steel breaker pack design is optimized for high loads and intensive use in difficult conditions, while the new Aqua Grip C tread compound is designed to provide the necessary grip on wet road surfaces. In addition to comfort, the Nokian Hakka tire range has a low rolling resistance coefficient, which contributes to fuel economy, a factor that is especially important in commercial vehicle use. The new Nokian Hakka C2 tires use the same tread pattern for both lighter and heavier vehicles. The tire is produced in 20 sizes with landing diameters from 14 to 17 inches.

VIATTI BOSCO A/T

This line of tires with a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern is designed for SUV segment vehicles and is intended for use on roads with improved solid and light road surfaces. It is also allowed to operate the tire in slush and melting snow conditions. The patented rubber compound provides variable sidewall stiffness, allowing the tire to adapt to road conditions. The model has an original tread design that provides resistance to aquaplaning (longitudinal grooves), reduces noise levels (transverse grooves of various geometries), and stabilizes the tire's movement in a straight line and during maneuvering (rigid central rib and reinforced longitudinal rows of blocks). Patency is ensured by wide transverse grooves and lugs in the shoulder parts. Depending on the profile width, Bosco A/T tires have two tread pattern options: tires with a width of 215 mm and above have an additional central stiffener. The tire is produced in 20 standard sizes with landing diameters from 15 to 18 inches and can be operated in a temperature range from -45 to + 55°C.

VIATTI STRADA ASIMMETRICO

This tire with an asymmetric non-directional tread pattern is a joint product of German engineers, Italian designers and Russian manufacturers and is adapted to the conditions of Russian roads and the local climate. The asymmetric tread pattern optimizes the tire's grip on the road (both dry and wet) and handling in a straight line and when maneuvering. Due to the variable stiffness of the sidewalls, the tire has the ability to adapt to the changing nature of the road surface. Wide longitudinal grooves effectively remove water from the contact patch, which increases the tire's resistance to hydroplaning. The outer side of the tread is "responsible" for dry handling, while the inner side optimizes wet handling (this is facilitated by reinforcements in the transverse grooves and drainage of the longitudinal and transverse grooves). The micro-protrusions located in the grooves of the inner side of the tread help to reduce the noise emitted by the tire. The range includes 31 standard sizes with landing diameters from 13 to 18 inches.

Today, many tires of well-known brands are replicated by less reputable manufacturers. They are usually cheaper, while the design largely repeats the original. How different are these tires? To shed light on this issue, let's compare two winter studded models: the Japanese Yokohama Ice Guard IG55 and the Russian Cordiant Snow Cross.

Structural features

Both tires received a symmetrical directional tread pattern, characterized by some aggressiveness. Their design concepts are very similar to each other, the differences are observed only in small things. For example, in siping: in Yokohama Ice Guard IG55, it is reinforced, and in addition to small wavy notches on the blocks, there are diagonal sipes intersecting with them.

In both cases, the central rib is solid in the shape of a herringbone. This allows you to achieve good raking abilities and stabilize the trajectory. Along the edges of it are macroblocks with side recesses - they contribute to quick braking and improve cross-country ability on winter roads.

As for the studding of the compared tires, there are some differences in it. In the Cordiant Snow Cross, the spikes are concentrated mainly in the shoulder area, and are rare in the medal area. Yokohama Ice Guard IG55 has studded not only the lateral part, but also macroblocks of stiffening ribs. There are also differences in the very structure of the studs: in the first case, they are double-flanged anchors in the shape of a snowflake, and in the second, they have diagonal microgrooves around. Thus, the model from Yokohama has better grip on ice and higher slip resistance.

The structure of the shoulder areas of the studied tires is approximately identical, which indicates good maneuverability and ease of cornering. Also, both of them are equipped with rather similar drainage systems with a characteristic branching, therefore they have high self-cleaning capabilities.

Polymer compositions

Yokohama Ice Guard IG55 rubber contains an increased concentration of silica for increased adhesion and endurance. It also contains natural orange oil to achieve elasticity even in severe frosts. The Cordiant Snow Cross tread has received a two-layer structure: the lower layer is stronger and more rigid, which guarantees resistance to deformation, and the upper one is soft and elastic, due to which a smooth ride is achieved. The polymer mixture also includes silicon compounds that protect against hardening at low temperatures.

Summarizing

From a comparison of the two samples, we can conclude that both models are suitable for operation in winter conditions and provide quite good driving characteristics. However, the tire from the reputable Japanese brand Yokohama still has some advantages. In particular, improved grip and increased slip resistance, as well as longer mileage.

The Russian company Cordiant, which produces tires for a wide variety of vehicles, was founded in 2005. Since then, it has become one of the leaders in the sale of tires in Russia. The range of products manufactured by the company includes about 400 varieties of wheels. The motto of the Cordiant company is a combination of European tire quality and an acceptable pricing policy.

Tire treads are made from a rubber compound with increased wear resistance. The side parts of the tires have a more elastic structure, resistant to all kinds of mechanical damage. Strength is additionally provided by a textile shielding layer with a spiral winding, as well as a double steel cord breaker.

Every motorist is faced with the problem of choosing high-quality rubber for his car. Today, this has become much more difficult. The car market offers a huge range of tires from various manufacturers. And most of them are of very high quality.

How to choose the right tires

To make the right choice, you need to consider several important points. First of all, it concerns the cost. Sometimes the price of rubber is quite acceptable, while the quality corresponds to the wheels produced by a well-known manufacturer. That is, you can always choose a budget option.

Of course, the life of expensive tires is long. They have a wide tread that quickly removes water. In addition, they reduce the braking distance on an icy road.

When choosing rubber, regardless of its price, you need to focus on important nuances:

  • Tires must match the dimensions of the vehicle. The appropriate size can be found in its technical manual.
  • Maximum speed.
  • rubber category.
  • Seasonality.
  • Possibility of braking on ice surface.

It is very important that the value of the speed and maximum load coincide with the dimensions of the tire. Failure to do so may result in damage to the suspension.

Yokohama or Dunlop

The cost of these tires is about the same. However, before making a choice, it is worth getting acquainted with their technical characteristics. Find out what advantages each model has.

Yokohama

For manufacturing, the manufacturer uses computer technology. Therefore, the tire fully meets international standards.

New tires reduce stopping distance.

Winter wheels are equipped with metal spikes of the original design. They provide reliable grip on icy roads. Car drift is completely excluded. The studded tire increases the safety of the trip, makes it more comfortable.

Especially for the summer season, the wheels are made of rubber, which does not begin to melt at high temperatures.

The universal (all-weather) tire is made of two-layer rubber. It can remain elastic in severe frosts and not melt in extreme heat.

There are models that have special semicircular holes on the tread. Due to them, tires repel snow, dirt and water, quickly self-cleaning. Longitudinal grooves prevent wheel slippage, while maintaining the lateral stability of the machine.

Rubber is designed for long-term use. Sometimes this period exceeds 10 years.

Each wheel is thoroughly tested. Samples with the slightest deviation from the norm are rejected. Therefore, the company guarantees 100% quality of its products.

Dunlop

The wheels have a wide tread. The design of the drawing and its calculation was performed using computer graphics. Rubber adheres tightly to the road surface, ensuring complete safety of the trip.

The protector has a non-directional symmetrical pattern. The car never skids on wet or very slippery roads.

When driving over potholes and pits in the car, no shocks are felt.

Tires provide minimal stopping distance. This is very important for driving on city streets.

Winter models are equipped with steel spikes that provide excellent grip on the track. On such rubber, the car never leaves the deposit.

Summer tires are made of special rubber. It eliminates melting at high temperatures.

All-weather are made of several layers. As a result, the wheels do not freeze in severe frosts and do not melt in the heat.

Dunlop can be used for a long time. If properly maintained, they will last more than 10 years.

The characteristics of both tires are almost the same. Motorists speak of them only in a positive way. At a low cost, each model is characterized by increased quality characteristics.

According to car owners, Yokohama is more suitable for slippery roads. If you install Dunlop, you should use all-season options. They show excellent results in winter cold and summer heat.

Of course, when choosing a tire, you must also take into account its parameters and characteristics. Wheels with different parameters often behave differently.

Yokohama or Nokian

World famous Nokian wheels are produced in Finland. In our country, they are made in Vsevolzhsk. The products are certified according to ISO 9001.

A feature of Nokian tires is the wear indicator. With it, you can easily measure the tread depth. Finnish tires guarantee powerful grip on any road surface, regardless of its surface. The ride is comfortable both on wet pavement and on icy roads.

According to experts, the quality of Nokian tires is slightly higher than Yokohama, so if possible, it is better to install Finnish tires.

Yokohama or Hankook

In South Korea, Hankook tires are considered the best for the winter period. Many global car manufacturers such as Volvo and Volkswagen produce their vehicles with Hankook tires.

They have become very popular in our country due to their high quality and low cost. Motorists note several positive qualities:

  • Low price.
  • Excellent stability.
  • Softness.
  • Doesn't make any extra noise.
  • Small stopping distance.
  • Long service life.

Hankook are more suitable for general use. When it comes to sports cars, Yokohama is the best.

Pirelli or Yokohama

The Italians produce Pirelli models:

highway

Road wheels for driving on asphalt. Not designed for winter use.

Snow

Special winter tires. They feature full grip on ice or snow-covered roads thanks to the original tread pattern. Rubber is able to withstand severe frosts.

Flaws:

  • Bad handling.
  • Lots of noise when driving on dry pavement.
  • Increased tread wear.

All Season

All season tires. Can be used on snowy roads. Provide good grip on icy surfaces. Tread wear is kept to a minimum.

Performance

Special tires for high-speed driving. They have a strong grip on the road, make driving easier. Rated for high temperatures.

Flaws:

  • Create discomfort when moving.
  • Too fast wear.

All season performance

All-weather, for high-speed driving. Can be used all year round. The machine remains stable on icy roads, shows good results on dry pavement.

Both Pirelli and Yokohama are of impeccable quality. They have proven their reliability in any kind of driving. It is very difficult to give preference to any product. The choice will depend on the individual approach, as well as the driving style of the car.

Tire manufacturers have long been on par with automakers in terms of the speed at which new models are brought to market. Even specialists cannot immediately orient themselves in new products, and even more so, it is difficult for ordinary motorists.

To facilitate this task, this review-rating of common summer tire models has been prepared. Let's make a reservation right away, if some models are not included in this rating, this does not mean that they are worse than those mentioned. The fact is that some tires have not yet received sufficient distribution in our country and because of this they cannot yet enter the rating.

The main struggle for leadership unfolded between the traditional market leaders Continental, Nokian and Bridgestone. And if the first two brands were long-time competitors, now Bridgestone has demonstrated an improvement in the characteristics of its products, approaching the recognized market leaders.

This assessment of summer tires is carried out on a hundred-point scale. We will evaluate, first of all, driving performance, comfort, as well as technical characteristics and price. We deliberately left aside the design assessment because, firstly, this question is rather an amateur one, someone likes one tread pattern, others another. Secondly, the ten-year-old fashion is now gone, when everyone wanted either low-profile treads or with a pattern “like on racing cars”. Now everyone is interested in more practical questions: how it rides, how it slows down, how long it will last on our roads, etc.

12th place Premiorri Solazo V.

The only serious advantage of this model is the low price achieved due to production in Ukraine. This became possible thanks to a contract between Premieri and the Ukrainian plant Rosava.

Primiorri Solazo has been produced since 2010, at the same time deliveries to the Russian market began.

The car “shod” in Solazo does not give a feeling of comfort, the steering wheel is extremely light, there is absolutely no feedback from the steering wheel. In order to clearly control the lane, you have to make a lot of unnecessary movements and twist the steering wheel at large angles.

With sudden changes, the reaction to the steering wheel is delayed, control over handling is reduced, up to a complete loss. Braking is equally uncertain on dry and wet pavement.

The softness indicators are very good, any irregularities are extinguished, but at the same time the rumble from the tread is very noticeable. The rolling quality is not up to par, in neutral the speed begins to drop rapidly. But when driving on the dirt road give a feeling of confidence.

+ Pros: Smooth, soft move. Clear movement on the primer.

- Cons: Poor road holding. Loses control during sudden maneuvering. Increase fuel consumption. Noisy.

These tires should be looked at by supporters of measured driving, who often have to travel to unpaved surfaces.

SCORE: 80.6/100 POINTS

11th place Viatti Strada Asimmetrico V.

The beautiful Italian name did not help the Nizhnekamsk producers much, although if we take the combination of price / quality, Viatti certainly gives good results here.

Braking is frankly weak, on a dry surface it outperforms only Premieri and Cordiant, on wet it is a clear outsider, perhaps a little better than Yokahama. In terms of the level of communication with the steering wheel and information content, it is very similar to the Premieri, it also needs constant steering. Although at low speeds the lane changes are quite clear, especially at the beginning of the maneuver, although at the end there is still a slight skid. On wet pavement, when changing lanes, the demolition of the front of the car is felt, requiring a quick reaction from the steering wheel.

Comfort from "Viatti" is also very doubtful, a pulsating noise is constantly heard, the slightest bumps in the road are transmitted to the body by vibration and shocks. With equal inflation, the rear wheels feel stiffer. Good rolling contributes to fuel economy. On a dirt road, they hold confidently.

+ Pros: Confident control of the machine on the primer.

- Cons: Unsatisfactory traction and poor maneuvering on any surface. Lack of sufficient comfort.

This model is suitable for moderate driving on good roads, and for unpaved surfaces.

SCORE: 83/100 POINTS

10th place Yokohama C.drive 2 V.

Despite the average test results, the model made in the Philippines is not offered at the average price, which certainly does not speak in its favor. Appeared on the Russian market since 2010.

The braking performance is almost identical to that of the Viatti, and on wet roads it is an absolute outsider in the rankings.

At high speeds, they clearly hold the road, but when maneuvering, there is not enough information content and taxiing is required. With sharp changes, there is clearly not enough angle of rotation, which is why you have to turn the steering wheel at large angles.

At top speeds, it gives a deep skid, which can be corrected by a driver with good response.

On a flat road, the tread makes moderate noise, which increases noticeably on rough pavement and on small bumps. Vibrations from small bumps are clearly transmitted to the body.

Yokohama tires showed the best results in terms of rolling, at any speed they give good fuel economy. On a dirt road, they demonstrate not confident behavior.

+ Pros: Due to the good rolling saves fuel at any speed. Good stability.

- Cons: Very poor braking on wet roads, poor handling during emergency maneuvers.

These tires will be appreciated by those for whom fuel economy is important.

SCORE: 83.9/100 POINTS

9th place Cordiant Sport 2 (PS-501) V.

The model is a domestic development, with a good price / quality ratio.

"Cordiant-Sport 2" first appeared on sale in 2010, then it was replaced in 2012 by a modernized version.

The tires showed the worst dry braking performance. The difference in stopping distance between the leader of the test and Cordiant was almost 6 meters. At the same time, on wet surfaces, the performance is noticeably better and can claim a satisfactory rating.

At high speeds, they confidently keep a straight line, but the information content is still not enough, moreover, there is a delay in reactions.

On a dry road, extreme maneuvering at medium speeds is possible; attempts to do it at a higher speed are also very difficult due to low information content and increased steering angles. When maneuvering on wet pavement, at the beginning, the front wheels slip outward, as if straightening the trajectory, because of this, you have to twist the steering wheel to the desired angle, which again is not just because of poor information content.

Tires dampen large bumps well, but at medium ones, they transmit shaking to the body. And with small cracks or roughness, they begin to make a distinct noise.

They roll poorly, which negatively affects fuel consumption. Driving on a primer with Cordiant-Sport 2 is a dubious pleasure.

+ Pros: Quite tolerable handling and directional stability on dry surfaces. Pretty comfortable ride.

- Cons: Very weak braking on dry pavement and heavy maneuvering on wet pavement. Increase fuel consumption.

Suitable for city driving, with trips to the suburbs.

SCORE: 85.7/100 POINTS

8th place Goodyear Efficient Grip V.

The French model did not receive a higher rating in the first place due to the high price.

This Goodyear model has been produced since 2009, it entered the Russian market in 2010.

Braking ratings are very good. Both on wet and dry pavement, the average performance among the tested tires was obtained.

At high speeds, the car "floats" slightly, alignment is difficult due to the lagging steering.

What definitely should not be done on these tires is sudden changes of lanes. On dry surfaces, you have to limit the speed due to a noticeable drift of the front wheels at the beginning of the maneuver and skidding of the rear at the end. On wet surfaces, the situation is a little better, but the picture is spoiled by large turning angles and sharp breaks into a skid when exiting it.

Tires have demonstrated the traditional Goodyear level of comfort, soft and quiet movement. "Eficient" help to save fuel, especially in extra-urban driving cycle. Departure to the primer without special need is not recommended.

+ Pros: Excellent level of comfort, fuel economy during country trips.

- Cons: Course stability is below average, heavy handling during extreme maneuvers.

Goodear Eficent Grip is well suited for lovers of comfortable and economical driving.

SCORE: 87.1/100 POINTS

7th place Dunlop SP Sport 9000 W.

This Japanese model has already become a veteran in our tire market, but at the same time, it is still in great demand.

Braking performance on dry roads is below average, and even less on wet roads. Only Yokohama and Viatti have worse performance.

Holds up well at high speeds. The main distinguishing feature of the Dunlop SP Sport is a clear reaction to the steering wheel, it is very easy to correct the course. On a dry surface, sharp maneuvering can be carried out at medium speed. Instantly reacts to the steering wheel at the beginning of the maneuver, though then there is a slight demolition of the front end, with a simultaneous drop in the information content of the steering wheel. On wet roads, maneuverability is improved and emergency lane changes can be made at higher speeds. However, when the speed limit is exceeded, a slide off the course occurs, and simultaneously on both axles. After drifting or skidding, traction is quickly restored.

The level of driving comfort with Dunlop is low, the tread rustles distinctly, on rough pavement the noise increases noticeably. Any small bumps in the road are transferred to the body.

Tires showed good rolling. Provides reliable movement on the primer.

+ Pros: High directional stability at high speeds, excellent movement on the primer. Provide economical driving.

- Cons: Poor comfort level. Poor braking performance on wet pavement.

These tires are perfect for long trips on roads with a smooth and hard surface.

SCORE: 87.6/100 POINTS

6th place Hankook Ventus Prime 2 (K 115) V.

The Hungarian tires showed good results and it is fair to say that it is from their 6th place that the elite group of very good tires begins.

Tires are a novelty in the Russian market, the start of sales started in 2012.

Ventus Prime demonstrated excellent braking qualities, they showed themselves especially well on wet roads, on dry pavements a little weaker, but still very good.

They hold their course well at high speeds, however, there is a slight lack of information content for direction corrections. Another "sin" is the delay in the reaction to the steering wheel. On dry pavement, maneuvers at speeds above average are permissible. Light skids at the exit of the maneuver are leveled out quite simply. A wet road has practically no negative impact on the nature of management and the success of rebuilding.

The tires are quite noisy, when driving at speeds above 80 km / h, it feels like riding on all-terrain treads. Ventus Prime behaves harshly on any surfaces and increases fuel consumption at any speed. Indicators of movement on the primer are average.

+ Pros: Good braking on any surface. Demonstrates stable handling.

- Cons: Increases fuel consumption. Notes on noise comfort and directional stability.

Good tires for paved roads.

SCORE: 89.9/100 POINTS

5th place Toyo Praxes Т1 Sport W.

This Japanese manufacturer has repeatedly proved the success of its brand, which is invariably present in the tops of many tire ratings.

The model has been presented in Russia since the end of 2009.

Dry braking performance is average and above average on wet pavement.

Road holding at high speeds is good, tires give ease in course corrections and smoothness when changing lanes. Reactions on the steering wheel are clear, the turning angles are small. Wet coating practically does not change the characteristics, only a slightly faster reaction is required at the maximum skid.

Toyo Praxes are quite quiet tires, only when driving on rough asphalt they become a little louder. Small bumps in the road are given to the body by vibrations. The fuel consumption readings are average, with an increase in speeds, the consumption also increases. Movement on the primer is average.

+ Pros: Stable handling on dry and wet surfaces.

- Cons: Increased fuel consumption during out-of-town trips. Minor complaints about ride and noise.

Good tires for mixed highway / city operation.

SCORE: 91.5/100 POINTS

4th place Michelin Primacy HP V.

The German brand, as always, is on top and, despite the sufficient age of the model of about 8 years, is still in demand.

The model demonstrates excellent braking qualities, approximately like the previous rating model. The performance is slightly weaker than that of the "Toyo" in the wet and slightly better in the dry.

The tires hold the direction well, with course corrections provide adequate reactions.

On a dry road, it shows clear behavior with clear reactions. On wet surfaces, the performance drops slightly. If you avoid sudden steering movements, drift will be minimized.

When driving on a good road, extraneous noise is not emitted. Irregularities and road joints are reflected on the body with sharp shudders.

With moderate driving, they help save fuel. When driving on the highway, they give average efficiency indicators. The primer is moderately tolerated.

+ Pros: Stable control. Fuel economy.

- Cons: Minor complaints about ride and noise.

Suitable for urban and suburban use.

SCORE: 91.7/100 POINTS

3rd place Pirelli Cinturato R7 V.

An excellent Romanian model, slightly losing its last year's position in front of the newcomers, but still remaining on the podium. In addition, this is the best model in terms of price / quality ratio. Pirelli Chinturato has been sold in Russia since 2010.

Tires demonstrate excellent braking performance, especially on wet surfaces.

There are no complaints about directional stability at high speeds. They allow you to make maneuvers at high speeds, on dry roads they allow you to make a sharp change in lanes.

By the nature of driving and the absence of surprises, they resemble Michelin and Bridgestone. They demonstrate high speed on wet pavement, only half a kilometer was not enough to reach the record level of this test. The reactions on the steering wheel are very clear, if not for the sharp skids at the exit of the turn, there could be a maximum score.

Pirelli Chinturato are a bit noisy, they slap at the joints. Small irregularities are transmitted to the body. Regardless of the driving mode, they do not have a particular effect on fuel consumption or economy. Not very suitable for primers.

+ Pros: Good braking on any surface. Provide good controllability.

- Cons: High noise level, not very smooth running.

An excellent choice for dynamic drivers, as well as for frequent country trips.

SCORE: 91.9/100 POINTS

2nd place Continental ContiPremiumContact 5 V.

A fresh French model on the Russian market with a good price / quality ratio.

Record braking results on all types of asphalt. The difference in stopping distance between the outsider of the test "Cordiant" and "Conti Premium" was about 6 meters, with "Yokohama" more than 5 meters.

The tires allow you to perform extreme maneuvers at high speeds, the steering wheel gives clear and precise reactions. A characteristic feature of the "Continental" are large steering angles, which decrease with the heating of the tires.

Wet coverage does not adversely affect speed.

Tires have demonstrated excellent comfort, perfectly dampen bumps and noise from the road. They give a good combination of soft and at the same time elastic driving.

The rolling level is average, approximately comparable to the Pirelli. Not suitable for ground cover.

+ Pros: The best braking performance on any road, excellent comfort.

- Cons: Notes on handling during extreme driving on dry roads.

The average price in Russia is 4800 rubles.

The best tires in terms of braking performance.

SCORE: 93.5/100 POINTS

1st place Bridgestone Potenza S001V.

Deserved place of the Japanese model.

Demonstrates excellent braking on all types of asphalt. True, it slightly loses to the “Continental” in the dry, only a little, and in the wet, 1 meter.

"Bridgeson Potenza" shows good directional stability, the same as the "Dunlop". A characteristic feature of this model is a very clear response to course corrections. The absolute winner of the competition for extreme maneuvering speed, on dry and wet pavement. It should be noted a high degree of information content of the steering wheel, especially on wet roads.

Unfortunately, the comfort does not live up to the high level of driving performance. Irregularities and joints are given by noise, rustling is clearly audible on rough asphalt.

The rolling performance is the same as that of the Continental and Pirelli, there is no particular savings, but it does not add to fuel consumption either. Not very suitable for primers.

+ Pros: Very good braking. Clear course stability, high speed maneuvers.

- Cons: Tires are noisy and harsh.

Great for country driving, on quality paved roads. Will appeal to fans of extreme driving.
