Step-by-step instruction

  • if there is a need to flush the power unit, then we screw the drain plug into place, pour the flushing compound into the engine and close the filler neck with a lid. After that, we start the engine, let it run for 10 - 15 minutes and then drain the flushing fluid;
  • remove the oil filter with a special wrench. If there is no such key, you can use a screwdriver, with which we pierce the filter housing and, using it as a knob, unscrew the filter;
  • wait until all the liquid flows out of the filter hole;
  • we clean the seats of the oil filter, the crankcase drain hole and the filler neck from dirt. To do this, we use pre-prepared rags;
  • pouring about 300 ml of fresh engine oil into the new oil filter and moistening the rubber gasket with it, install the filter in place;

IMPORTANT! It is necessary to twist the oil filter only using the force of the hand. The use of the tool is prohibited.

  • using a wrench, we twist the crankcase drain plug into place;
  • having installed a funnel in the filler neck, carefully pour in new oil;
  • the bay is about 3 liters of auto-lubrication, we check its level in the crankcase using a control dipstick. If the oil mark is between the MAX and MIN marks, the process is stopped. If the mark is below the MIN mark, add oil;
  • we return the control probe to its place and close the filler neck with a lid;
  • start the car engine;
  • after the indicator light for emergency engine oil pressure goes out (5-7 seconds), we again check how much oil is in the engine with a dipstick;
  • if the level of auto-lubrication in the crankcase is below normal, add it to the required level (the mark should be between the MIN and MAX risks).
  • we check for leaks from the car's lubrication system and, if necessary, eliminate defects.

This completes the procedure for changing the oil in the engine of a VAZ 2110 car.

  6. Wait for the oil to drain completely from the engine.

We proceed to the last stage of changing the oil on the VAZ 2110 8 or 16 valves. We do it according to the following scheme:

  1. Wipe down the oil filter screw-in area and any surfaces around it that might be dirty.
  2. Pour new grease into the filter, filling it up to half.
  3. Lubricate the threads with the sealing rubber of the new filter with oil.
  4. Screw in the plug and tighten with a wrench, but do not overdo it.
  5. Screw the filter back into place, but do it carefully and without a key.
  6. Slowly pour new oil into the neck using a funnel for convenience.
  7. Check the fluid level so that it is in the middle between the two marks on the dipstick.
  8. Screw in the filler cap.
  9. Start the engine and wait until the oil pressure light on the panel goes out.
  10. Stop the engine and check the oil level again and top up if necessary.

The oil change on the VAZ 2110 is over, and you can collect all the tools and go on a trip. The next day, check the oil level with a dipstick and, if necessary, add it to the normal level.

Personal experience: using my engine as an example, I can say that there are already more than 60,000 miles, and half of them are synthetic. Inside, under the valve cover, perfect cleanliness, without plaque and other deposits. Looking at some motors with less mileage on cheap oil, it gives me the creeps from what I see.

The choice of oil manufacturer for the VAZ 2110-2112 engine

Well, here, of course, the choice is quite huge, and to be honest, the quality of any synthetic oil from a well-known manufacturer for a VAZ engine will be much better than the most vaunted mineral water. So it's better not to bother with the company too much. Mobil or ZIC, as well as Shell or Lukoil, for example, can be a completely excellent option.

But I personally fill my ZIC engine with full synthetics. Prior to this, lil was the same, only semi. There is no oil consumption for waste, the lubricating properties are excellent, and it is hardly possible to evaluate this factor at home. But about the washing properties - here it is beyond praise, the camshaft and housings are in perfect cleanliness, as if everything had just been from the factory.

As for winter launches on ZIC synthetics, then again, I personally never had any problems. The engine starts without any problems, if all the necessary points are observed at this time of the year (clutch depressed, fully charged battery, etc.).
