This procedure is for forced regeneration of the DPF using a scanner if the particulate filter has not been regenerated while driving. FORCED REGENERATION CONDITION

Engine coolant temperature: approx. 70°C

2. Connect the GDS scanner to the diagnostic socket (DLC).

REMOVAL

1. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.

2. Disconnect the differential pressure sensor connector (A) and the oxygen sensor connector (B).

3. To create sufficient working space, remove the hood cover (A). (See "Top Bonnet" section in the "Body" group.)

4. Disconnect connectors (A) and (B) from the exhaust gas temperature sensor.

5. Remove three bolts and heat shield (C).

6. Disconnect the differential pressure sensor hoses (A) from the CPF filter assembly.

7. Remove bolts (A), remove turbocharger nut (B) (C), then remove diesel particulate filter assembly (D).

DPF Filter Assembly Bolt/Nut: 39.2~49.1 N m (4.0~5.0 kgf m, 28.9~36.2 lbf ft)

8. Raise the vehicle.

9. Remove the front muffler assembly. (See "Front Silencer" section under "Engine Mechanical System".)

10. Turn out bolts of fastening and remove protection (A) of the particulate filter.

11. Turn out a bolt (A) and remove the line (B) of a turbocharger.

12. Remove the mounting bolts (A) and remove the particulate filter assembly.

DPF Filter Assembly Support Bolt: 49.5~63.7 N m (5.0~6.5 kgf m, 36.2~47.0 lbf ft)

5. Select Vehicle S/W Management.

6. Select Component Change Routine.

7. Select "DPF Change" (DPF filter replacement).
