Toyota Auris is a modern representative of the C-class, which received the family features of the latest Toyota lineup: Aigo, Yaris, Auris, Avensis. These cars have a lot in common - the shape of the hood and radiator grille, lensed optics, strongly inclined windshields. The Auris replaced the Corolla hatchbacks (the sedan retained the Corolla name).
Hatchback for Europe will be released in two versions: with three and five doors. Toyota emphasizes that this is the tallest car in its class (1515 mm). The wide body (1,760 mm) is not only an indicator of good stability on the road, but also allows all passengers to comfortably accommodate.
The name Auris conveys the very character of the car. It comes from the Latin word "aurum" - "gold" and gives rise to a sense of weighty and noble qualities that create high values. In addition, the first two letters of the name - Au - are the chemical symbol for gold.
The expressive design of Auris, created in the European design center Toyota ED2, found its reflection, both in the bright appearance of the car and in the interior. The car has grown in comparison with its predecessor (9th generation Corolla hatchback) by 40 mm in length, 50 mm in width and added 100 kg of weight.

The suspension is impressively firm and does excellent handling of road bumps. At the front, these are MacPherson struts, while one of two systems is installed at the back. Most models received a torsion beam, chosen mainly for its compactness, but the higher performance of the Auris T180 prompted Toyota to install a multi-link suspension system better able to handle heavy loads when cornering at higher speeds.
The car is available in several versions: with 1.4 liter / 97 hp. or 1.6 liter / 124 hp gasoline engine, or with one of three modifications of the diesel engine (1.4 l; 2.0 l; 2.2 l). The adjustment of the driver's seat has been improved, the thickness of the steering wheel has been increased. At the request of buyers, heated seats and massage units can be built into the front seats. The illumination of instruments and monochrome screens began to shine blue instead of yellow, and the internal door handles no longer copied the external ones.
