Many people remember previous Nissan Terrano models. These were medium SUVs with a continuous rear axle beam. They had amazing cross-country ability and quite impressive dimensions. The first generation went into mass production in 1986. It was a heavy SUV with a load-bearing frame, independent front suspension and a classic solid rear axle.

AND updated SUV Terrano 2014-2015 received a fundamentally new chassis and became (SUV) instead of a classic SUV.
Thanks to the merger of the French and Japanese companies, the Renault-Nissan concern was formed. As a result of this merger, the new Nissan Terrano received a common platform with the French mid-sized crossover Renault Duster. At the same time, the consumption of gasoline, depending on the type of transmission, is 7.8 and 8.3 liters per 100 km with the same combined driving cycle. The maximum speed of a car equipped with such power units is up to 170 km / h. The installation of a diesel engine in the new Terrano is not yet provided. But, nevertheless, there is hope that diesel will again appear in the line of power units.
Features of the new Terrano.
With overall dimensions of 4331 x 1822 x 1671 mm, the wheelbase is 2674 mm, and ground clearance - as much as 205 mm. Such dimensions provide the new Terrano with good axle weight distribution, stability and good cross-country ability even in the front-wheel drive modification.
Design.
The external design of the car, even with similarities with, is still very different from the latter in the direction of greater rigor and even some pomposity. The appearance of the new Terrano has many features of the popular Nissan X-Trail and even the more expensive and comfortable Nissan Pathfinder, but is not at all like. However, the car does not look like a replica at all. He has his own charisma. Modern rounded stampings on the sides, large rear optics and door design make Terrano very different from its predecessor in the direction of a stylish, modern and even, to some extent, original appearance.
The front of the car is a kind of visiting card of the Japanese company. Several slanted headlights, a large grille and a massive bumper look much more advantageous than on the French counterpart. Thanks to its design, the car looks larger and more spacious than the Duster. And more reinforced suspension and ground clearance allow the new Terrano to compete with many modern crossovers on light off-road.
Behavior on the road.
As for handling, there are no serious improvements compared to the French crossover, alas. The car also has some slight body roll in corners, but improved suspension settings make it more stable. The steering is also quite informative. Thanks to him, the car unquestioningly obeys the driver in almost all speed modes, sensitively responding to all movements of the steering wheel. The only drawback is the transmission of shocks and vibrations to the steering wheel when driving on a bumpy road.
Interior.
Salon Terrano also compares favorably with its French donor. The front fascia has a more modern and even more chic look than the Duster. All the materials used in the interior trim are quite high quality, but still quite rustic for a car of this price category.
