In addition to the original headlights, large air intakes dominate the front of the car, which emphasizes the sporty character and hints at the powerful engine under the hood.

The engine range of the car at the time of the start of sales consists of three efficient engines, each of which boasts an excellent combination of power and fuel consumption. Two gasoline bi-turbo engines with a volume of 3.0 liters and 3.6 liters with a capacity of 340 and 400 hp, respectively. The latter impresses with dynamics: the acceleration time to 100 km / h is 4.8 seconds, and the maximum speed is 266 km / h. The 3.0 liter diesel engine develops 258 hp. Accelerates to 100 km / h in 6.3 seconds. The maximum speed is 230 km/h. With the optional Sport Chrono package, the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is reduced by 0.2 seconds. The Macan S and Macan S Diesel come standard with conventional spring suspension, while the Macan Turbo comes standard with adaptive dampers. As an option, an air suspension with variable ground clearance is offered from 180 millimeters for confident high-speed movement on a smooth highway, to 230 millimeters that can withstand serious off-road.

The all-wheel drive transmission of the Macan is not based on a center differential, as in the Audi Q5, but using an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch in the front axle drive. That is, the torque is constantly supplied to the rear axle, and the front receives its share of the moment at the command of the electronics. Porsche's rear cross-axle differential has an electronically controlled lock to improve vehicle stability when accelerating on slippery roads, while Porsche's Torque Vectoring Plus redistributes torque between the right and left wheels in corners using the brakes.

In 2015, it is possible to add 4-cylinder engines to the engine range. So far, it is known that the gasoline unit will have a return of up to 280 horsepower.

The mid-size Macan was created on a modified MLB / MLP modular platform, exactly the same as on the Audi Ku5. The crossover has an independent suspension on a multi-link system at the rear and wishbones at the front. The basic equipment is equipped with hydraulic shock absorbers and steel springs. Two pendants are optionally available. PASM with active shock absorbers for three modes of operation and air suspension, which is generally exclusive to this class of vehicles. The air suspension, by the way, also has three options for operation and provides the ability to change the clearance from one hundred and eighty to two hundred and thirty millimeters.

Using a special button in the trunk, you can change the air suspension clearance up to 140 mm, which greatly facilitates the loading of particularly bulky items.

Porsche Macan has active all-wheel drive, which is available in any of the trim levels. Front-wheel drive is connected using a multi-plate clutch. As an option, the PTV Plus system is available, which redistributes torque between the wheels to prevent slipping and dynamic cornering.

Pleasantly pleased with the electromechanical power steering, previously unavailable in models from Porsche. Together with the lane position control system, the car itself can steer from the right side in an emergency. All these are, of course, excellent crossovers, but sometimes the feeling of belonging to a certain family of cars puts an end to a difficult choice.

Family traits are also visible in the appearance of Makan. Cayenne, 911, and Panamera are immediately recognizable in it, but all this is seasoned with its own originality. The idea of ​​the designers is read: in all Porsche cars, in sports cars, in SUVs, you feel equally comfortable. With the 918 Spyder, it certainly has in common with the new steering wheel, which was previously unimaginable in an SUV. Although Makan is an SUV, you won’t be able to feel confident off-road - the clearance is too small.
