The quality of the trunk is cramping, the chopik of the rear shelf flew out. In general, while it is a sin to complain! The expense is just weird. It's not just about design. The five-door Opel Astra H is utilitarian, despite all its bright and catchy personality. It is simple and undemanding to operate, and its interior does not get bored and does not become familiar. The landing is comfortable, there are enough adjustments, both the seat and the steering wheel. The central console is not overloaded with buttons, and the dashboard, made in the same style as the hood, is “halfed” by a kind of “keel”. Upholstery materials are soft and aesthetically pleasing; especially pleasing are the door panels, covered with artificial leather and stylishly stitched with white threads. The 1.6 Twinport engine deserves popular popularity for its confident traction, timely response and good dynamic performance. At the “lower end” of the engine, it’s “not enough”, but after 3,000 rpm, the engine rehabilitates itself and shows “driver ambitions” and good throttle response. The price for confident dynamics is noise and vibration isolation, which is not enough at high engine speeds.
The five-speed gearbox is good with a fairly short lever stroke and a clear gear shift. True, the clutch pedal may seem rather "cotton" and uninformative: it takes time to stop stalling at the start.
And what kind of brakes does this Opel Astra have? – they stop tightly! After them, any brake system will seem "inoperative"! The only negative is the need for accurate and well-balanced doses of effort so that passengers do not nod their heads, bowing to a stylish dashboard ...
