Hai! The Ural Solo motorcycle is not the only model of biker transport that is available on our website. Here you will find the most popular iron horses of the planet. Both domestic and foreign, and no longer produced Soviet bikes are described in detail on Everything about moto. Here you will find an abundance of information regarding biker organizations and their iron horses.

Particularly important is the Moton News section. With her, you will always be aware of the latest developments in the world of two- and three-wheeled steel horses.

Description Ural solo and photo

This bike belongs to the class of classic road bikes. And this is one of the most popular IMZ motorcycles. The main advantage of the above two-wheeler is the price. Almost all compatriots can buy Ural Solo. There would be a desire. In addition to a relatively moderate cost, this Irbit iron horse stands out for its excellent style, with a lot of elements of a classic retro style.

The "Solo" model is equipped with a powerful 650 cc engine. The latter is started using an electronic ignition system. Moreover, the designers also left the clockwork leg (kick-starter).

Among other pleasant technical characteristics of the Ural Solo Classic, the photo of which you will find in this motorcycle review, one can single out the presence of a disc brake system. Otherwise, the voluminous boxer four-stroke two-cylinder bike from IMZ remained without cardinal changes. We also note the rather high power indicators of the motorcycle engine. 45 horses for the domestic motorcycle industry is an incredible progress, given the lack of proper funding for the production of biker equipment.

The most important features of the Ural Solo Classic motorcycle

Reviews of most products in this line are quite impressive. The people are satisfied with the technical characteristics of the two-wheeled IMZ, given the price / quality ratio. With the beginning of the 21st century, this motorcycle received a brand new carburetor as a gift from the manufacturer. The electronics of the iron horse have also undergone many major changes. The new scheme of the Urals is available on our website.

According to the reviews of the owners, presented by experienced motorcyclists, the IMZ "Solo" is a sufficiently reliable and unpretentious steel horse. This two-wheeled vehicle is especially pleasantly operated within the city limits, where there are high-quality flat roads. The Ural Solo model, equipped with a chrome-plated gas tank that can hold 19 liters of fuel, is considered the most beautiful.

For this motorcycle, the speed limit is 130 km / h. With a mass of 235 kilograms, this is a pretty good indicator, as for a domestic bike, which has not undergone radical changes in the design of the engine since the Great Patriotic War.

This moto from IMZ is well controlled and very maneuverable. Riding on it provides a classic driver's landing, which allows you to comfortably travel long distances. Installing a two-wheeled windshield and fabric seat covers, you can get additional comfort on the road.

I would also like to note that this line of the Irbit Motorcycle Plant received a lot of modifications. One of these is used by the police of the Russian Federation. Ural Retro Solo is a vivid example of another successful IMZ iron horse.

Reviews from Ural Solo owners

Ural Solo, 2013

I bought this Ural Solo motorcycle with a new 750 engine in the winter of 2013. Before that, there was an ordinary "salt" with a 650 engine, which I was very pleased with. I really liked the classic solo. It had a whole bunch of improvements: a new fork with a Brembo brake, which, by the way, really stops the bike and which is not scary to ride in the stream. I hardly used the back one, because there was no need for it. The new fork does not leak and works great, you get tired at long distances, a hundred times less than with the Russian Solovskaya, you don’t have to get up on very large bumps, your hands are always relaxed. An electric starter is very useful, especially when you stall in a traffic jam. No need to get off to catch neutral, everything is clearly clutch-button-fraction of a second and again into battle. Starts instantly, even in frost -30. A more comfortable and lower seat, the only thing I have sat through during this time, but this is being done. There were no problems with the checkpoint. Oil did not flow from the bridge, as on the old ones, and the rear wheel was always dry (the gearbox housing was made a little differently there), and I was much less lucky with the motor, that is, there was one small problem that I had not solved. But, first, about the good, I ran it around competently, I didn’t rape it much, because of this, he walked without problems. He ate a little oil, and at first, at a run, somewhere in 6000 km, he stopped eating oil at all. For example, my friend and I drove it from Moscow to St. Petersburg and back, drove at a speed of 100-120, when overtaking the arrow went over 140. We didn’t add oil, when we arrived in Moscow, the level was full. Gasoline consumption Ural Solo seems to me large, that is, the least that I could adjust it to is 7.5 liters. When you drive along the highway, it is very inconvenient to stop at a gas station every two hundred kilometers and add 15 liters, with a balance of 5 liters. When I took it with a run of 400 km, the cable in the bifurcator broke and then I didn’t find it anywhere in Moscow, so I had to put a regular Ural throttle.

Advantages : In general, I was satisfied with the bike. We spent a lot of good time on the road. SOLO is an excellent motorcycle for riding on any roads (asphalt, dirt, swamp).

Flaws : lack of spare parts for sale, and especially good ones or relatives. Gasoline consumption.

Ural Solo, 2013

In April, I took a new Ural Solo. Today mileage is 7,000 miles. No complaints at all. And I don’t feel sorry for him, I mix dirt, drop it, unscrew it, etc., not a single failure. Right now the rear brake pads are worn out. Over 7000 with fairly aggressive driving is a completely normal resource. Otherwise, no damage. And, by the way, the oil didn't leak. Expensive? Well, given the package, not expensive at all. For the same money to buy "rattle" imported? Can. But I have a new one. I roll it to the point of impossibility, and I don’t worry about grouting scratches on expensive plastic. "Ural" is never old, and it is a very reliable motorcycle. Especially Ural Solo.

Advantages : comfortable fit. Good handling despite the weight.

Flaws : gasoline consumption.

Today I want to talk about an unusual representative of the Irbit motorcycle plant - the Ural "Solo". What might be unusual about it? We are all used to the fact that the Urals were always produced with sidecars and few people dreamed of a single model, but the motorcycle plant, I think, surprised everyone by starting the production of singles.

Why all of a sudden? In the 90s, the demand for motorcycles with a sidecar fell, and the Irbitsky plant decided to save the day by releasing a single Ural Solo model, and then the dream of the opponents came true. After all, they tried to convert wheelchair users to singles and faced more than one problem, but here everything is ready right away, you just need to understaff “for yourself” and ride. Inexpensive, reliable and powerful motorcycle with a low straight handlebars and a classic fit has become very popular with city riders.

So, let's start about the bike itself: the bike is a bit surprising and pleases with a lot of chrome. There are many of them: fenders, mufflers, arches, wheel rims. In combination with the strict black color of the rest of the parts, they give the car a solid and at the same time festive look. When it appeared, it immediately attracted the attention of not only ours, but also foreign fans of this style of motorcycles.

Actually, he was prepared for production based on the foreign market. Most of the plant's products go abroad (USA, England, France, and more recently China). But domestic fans were not forgotten, they also had a little fall, in scanty quantities, "Solo" began to appear in our stores.
Most of the differences from the base model IMZ-8.103-10 relate to the appearance. The Solo has two small mufflers (Nikonov's exhaust system), gracefully raised at the rear and protecting the passenger's legs from hot surfaces. The double mono-saddle and side decorative plastic panels are immediately striking (the tool, as before, is put away in a box on the tank). Passive safety elements are arches with reliable fastening to the frame and folding steps for the driver and passenger. The front wing - it has become a little smaller - fixed on the feathers of the fork, is unsprung.

Such was Solo at the beginning of his release, the 90s. But this is not the end of the description. I want to show you now a modern model of this motorcycle. Of course, there were no major changes, but still…….

So a more modern Ural loner in our time:

Outwardly, he remained with a rich color, a good balance of painted and chrome parts. Looks good, as befits a classic motorcycle.

Brakes - Irbitchane still changed the front brake to a single-disc Brembo company. The front one, even in a single-disk version, does an excellent job with its functions. The rear one was left drum, but, given that the oil does not flow from the bridge, then nothing slippery will get on the pads, which means that its efficiency is quite enough.

The tank is a “droplet”, its appearance is impressive, the lid on it is of a new design and has tightness. Now I would like to talk about the equipment: Irbitchane probably decided that they made an eternal motorcycle, it will never break. Apparently, they think so at the factory, since there is no place for a tool on it. But - this, of course, is just horror - but a tire pump is fixed in the most visible place. Although this is a trifle that can be eliminated.

The motorcycle has two seating options: the basic model has a single seat, which is characterized by a rubber coating, or a double seat. In addition, it is possible to obtain two single seats. The price for the basic equipment of the Ural Solo motorcycle is about 215 thousand Russian rubles, which is considered a very competitive price compared to the models of competing manufacturers.

The increase in cubes did not affect the power of the motorcycle. Engine power is enough for dynamic acceleration. It seems that this is not 40 l / s, but all 60.

The gearbox works, of course, well, clearly. But some shortcomings remained, for example, a long lever stroke. And most importantly, the fifth speed never appeared, as compensation there is a quick neutral switch, as well as a reverse gear (they returned it). On the Ural "Solo-classic" these options are not superfluous, even at the traffic lights it is convenient to put the lever in neutral, and the reverse gear helps when parking.

The two-cylinder engine runs on AI-92 gasoline. Nineteen liters of gasoline are placed in the motorcycle tank.

The ignition system of this motorcycle is microprocessor-based, which ensures quick and easy starting of its engine. Fuel consumption per hundred kilometers in urban mode is in the range of five to six liters. The cruising speed of the motorcycle is one hundred and five kilometers per hour, and the maximum allowable speed is one hundred and twenty kilometers per hour.

The Ural Solo motorcycle is produced in different colors and, as mentioned above, in various configurations, so that each potential buyer can choose for himself one or another version of the model of this motorcycle, depending on taste preferences and financial capabilities.
In the end, we can say that the bike is really good, a lot of good improvements. But….. I haven’t seen them in Ukraine yet — they deliver it to foreign markets and for their consumers along the way! Why is that?

Of course, one of the most legendary motorcycles - the Ural Solo - has survived from the period of the existence of the USSR to the present day, without undergoing any drastic changes. A huge amount of old-style equipment still passes along modern Russian highways, but the Izhevsk Machine Plant made changes and improved its motorcycle all the time.

However, apart from some modifications, the original exterior details remain unchanged and maintain the same retro style of a bygone era. Only the technical parameters of motorcycles that were relevant for the moment of time were set. The model series of motor vehicles Ural Solo demonstrated today includes both sidecar models and single motorcycles, for example: Ural Retro solo and Ural Solo ST.

The strength and power of the motorcycle Ural Retro

Motorcycle equipment Ural Retro Solo is known for its increased engine power and long wear resistance, thanks to which they are perfectly controlled on city streets and wide highways.

It is the increased degree of reliability that needs to be paid attention to. The motorcycle is equipped with a 4-speed gearbox, where it is possible to move backwards, a pendulum suspension at the rear, or a telescopic one at the front. It also has an electric starter, hydraulic front disc brakes and a drum-type rear brake.

The tank has a fuel capacity of 19 liters. For the purpose of safety, specialized arc frames are installed.

Such an instance is capable of speeds of about 130 km / h. With such data, it can be attributed to the heavy weight category, with a mass of 235 kg, but the weight does not have a significant effect on comfortable handling. The motorcycle does not lose in maneuverability and remains the leader among vehicles in the urban environment.

Standard driving position, straight handlebars with a low seating position, chrome-plated 18-inch wheels with integrated spokes, and in addition to this - a unique optical device that allows you to monitor the traffic situation - these are the very unique features of this model of motorcycle technology.

Standard fit of the driver on a motorcycle Ural Retro

The Ural Retro motorcycle can be equipped with a driver's windshield, and the divided saddles can be easily replaced with one single seat with a fabric or leather cover. All of these upgrades increase the feeling of convenience while traveling.

It is worth noting that the outer shell of the Urals is not much different from the models of the 50s, but its audacity does not go anywhere.

It harmoniously combines the classic style of the last century and the modern technological potential of our time.

One of the special models of this motorcycle of the Solo series is the Ural "Solo-DPS" for police patrols. Its package includes an additional windshield, special signal lights, as well as a modified form of construction for mounting traffic police equipment.

Ural Solo ST - a classic of the motorcycle industry in the USSR

To date, the Ural Solo ST model follows the classic traditions, the production of which was started back in the Soviet Union. The specimen that forms its main body comes with stainless exhaust pipes, a traditional fuel tank, a tractor-style seat and a black fender at the rear. It uses the standard black finish.

But, when ordering this model, the buyer will receive an offer to order secondary equipment for motorcycle equipment to improve the basic configuration.

Comfort

Ural Solo ST models are equipped with two transformer seats for landing: typical single-seat solutions are equipped with rubber-covered seats. There is also the possibility to choose seats for one seat.

Primarily, current examples are designed for a comfortable ride on asphalt pavement. But this does not prevent him from driving on country roads and off-road. The track will feel very confident, and when turning it will be more stable. The model shows excellent aerodynamic parameters.

The manufacturer provided the technique with excellent shock absorption, so that small road bumps will not be felt. The improved brake system significantly increases the degree of safety during movement, especially when maneuvering in an urban environment.

Motorcycle parameters Ural Solo ST

Moving smoothly to the machine characteristics, it should be noted that there are no special differences from the standard properties of the IMZ models. It has a good two-cylinder engine, whose displacement is 745 cc. see The current ignition system will allow you to simply and quickly start the engine. Equipped with a four-speed gearbox. The rear wheel moves due to the cardan shaft. per 100 km of city traffic - 5-6 liters.

The average cost of motorcycle equipment of this series

Designers are constantly improving their own creation, so motorcycle lovers will often be able to see updated equipment and innovations. On the market, the Ural Solo model of 2015 will cost about 350 thousand rubles, and the motorcycle ural retro solo- in the region of 575 thousand rubles.
