The premium Infiniti model has already experienced the second restyling in a relatively short time period. The previous update took place at the end of 2015 and was remembered, first of all, by technical innovations, among which the most important was the inclusion of a new V6 3.0 twin-turbo engine with a return of 405 hp in the engine range. The main result of restyling in 2017 is the introduction of the ProPILOT semi-autonomous control system, which minimizes the risk of accidents. In addition to the autopilot, the new Infiniti Ku 50 2017-2018 received a number of local improvements in the exterior design, finish and equipment.
The launch of the model on the market is scheduled for late spring - early summer of this year. The base cost of the novelty in Russia will remain approximately at the pre-reform level, i.e. in the region of 2 million rubles. We emphasize right away that the Q50 sports sedan has been the most popular model of the brand since its debut (2013) to this day, guaranteeing up to a third of all company sales. So, in 2016, about 230,000 copies of the car were sold in the world, and this is a record figure for all time. Nissan engineers continue to move step by step towards the introduction of fully automatic driving on all of its production vehicles. Along the way to realizing these plans, developers have equipped the Infiniti Q50 with 2nd generation Direct Adaptive Steering, which is based on the work of the partially autonomous ProPILOT system. This complex with a slightly simplified functionality is already included in the new equipment. The Japanese automaker Infiniti rarely releases sedan models. A pleasant exception to the rule was the 2018 Infiniti Q50, which, although not quite typical for the company, is equipped and packaged in its best traditions. The presentation of the car took place quite recently at the Geneva Auto Forum, after which the stylish, sporty and superbly equipped car will begin to conquer the world.
Carefully considering the new body, it is easy to see that it looks thinner and elongated. This is especially noticeable if you look at the front of the car - the breath of restyling is felt especially clearly here.
The new hood has become lower and has gained a stronger slope to the ground. Its relief is clearly visible on the sidewalls of the element, which are significantly higher than the central part. Directly below them, the 2018 Infiniti Q50 has a stylish elongated optic that combines smooth curves and sharp corners. The radiator grill between them has also changed into a large mesh with a chrome frame.
The lower part of the bumper looks powerful and muscular. In its extensions, you can see the system for supplying air to the engine and brakes. Near the air intakes there are several elements of additional light - a line of LEDs that complement the dipped headlights, as well as a pair of round foglights. In the profile photo of the car, it is easy to see the features inherent in the top class. Here, the new model is completely devoid of relief, only extended arches and a skirt in the lower part of the body visually make it voluminous. It is worth noting the design of the glasses: a chrome-plated outline appeared around them, and elegant pseudo-pillars appeared in the middle. The overall concept of tidy is made in a T-shaped style. Its center is crowned by two monitors: for the navigation system and, in a larger size, for everything else. On the dashboard, you can find the “wells” of the tachometer and speedometer, which have a stylish light blue backlight, and between them there is a large on-board computer that allows you to read a lot of useful information for the driver.
Seats and luggage compartment
The seats are made almost perfectly: only leather trim, and the front row has good lateral support, is heated and optionally has a ventilation function. But on the second row, no more than two people can comfortably sit. However, if necessary, three will fit.
The trunk of the Ku 50 is quite roomy: more than 410 liters of free space plus a convenient recess for placing cargo contribute to the recognition of the car in question as one of the most convenient for carrying luggage.

From the side, the new model does not look so catchy, but very elegant. Behind the body is a little simpler, but it looks quite decent. In the photo, three-dimensional optics of a triangular shape, a wavy relief, a spoiler in the rear of the trunk lid, plus an “inflated” body kit, on which an insert with two pipes of the exhaust system stands out, are striking.

It is absolutely not in the rules of Infiniti to create a car that does not have a premium, ideally comfortable and safe interior. The new Infiniti Q50 2019 model year, of course, is no exception to the rule, differing, moreover, by an abundance of modern comfort and safety systems, as well as premium interior trim materials: genuine leather, Alcantara and aluminum.
Vehicle controls
The lion's share of the functionality is served by a pair of displays on the dashboard. Their dimensions are such that there is almost no free space around. Nevertheless, the physical buttons responsible for working with the climate, heating, and driving performance settings are present at the edges of the screens. In addition, the front console is rich in deflectors, contains several compartments for things, as well as ports for connecting to external media, such as a smartphone or tablet.
But on a fairly wide tunnel, there is much less functionality. Basically, these are holes for small items, a pair of cup holders, a gearshift deflector, a handbrake, a pair of washers for chassis settings, plus a massive armrest, by folding it down, you can access a fairly solid glove box, in “cool” versions and with a refrigerator function.
The bagel looks quite nice and functional. Its rim is quite thin, but finished with good leather and is quite pleasant to the touch. In addition, the steering wheel is decorated with aluminum plates, and is also rich in multimedia equipment. The dashboard is designed to make life as easy as possible for the driver: two round analog instruments, plus a vertically oriented on-board computer display, will help to keep abreast of all the most important changes in the life of the car.
Seats and luggage compartment
If the trunk of the car in question has never been large, and the seats cannot be transformed in order to somehow improve the volume, then the car seats themselves are quite comfortable. They are finished with the finest leather and contain a stretchy material that can adapt to every rider. The front seats are distinguished by solid support from the sides, heating, ventilation, as well as back and seat adjustments using electric drives.
The back row sofa is simpler, but it can also be heated and can easily accommodate three adults of solid build.
