The model is based on the 1991 Citroen ZX chassis. In Russia, the Chinese brand appeared in 2007, after the start of sales of Breez. A year later, Lifan formed a joint venture with Derways and began Breez SKD assembly at a plant in Cherkessk. How did you manage to make a technological leap?
Lifan, like many other Chinese brands, literally stepped over a century of painstaking work in the development of technical solutions and improving cars and took advantage of ready-made solutions. With the help of concluding contracts and obtaining licenses for the production of this or that equipment, and sometimes the car as a whole from world automobile brands, we managed to quickly master our own production.
Strong financial support from the Chinese government and cheap labor contributed to the rapid development.
The lineup
It should be noted that the Lifan brand positions its products as high-quality and high-tech. The first test of the pen was the Breez model. This four-door sedan is strikingly similar in appearance to the Korean creation from Daewoo called Lanos. Breez appeared on the Chinese market in 2007, and a year later was introduced to Russia.
In 2008, the production of Smily was launched - this is an almost complete copy of the famous European baby MINI, its new variation from BMW. The following year, the Solano sedan appears.
