How will the metro and MCC work?

All New Year's Eve, the night and most popular routes of ground urban transport will also work. 1,500 buses, trolleybuses and trams will bring passengers to the metro and MCC stations, which will run along 153 routes most in demand in the city.

On December 31 at 23:50 Moscow time, a live audio broadcast of Russian President Vladimir Putin's New Year's greetings will be organized in subway cars, stations, and escalators. The uninterrupted operation of the metro on New Year's Eve will be ensured by 5,057 employees, 1,137 drivers and 966 transport security workers.
As Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin noted, the opportunity to increase the duration of work to around the clock on demanded days appeared "taking into account the major repairs that were carried out in the subway, replacing rails, improving the operation of energy systems, air extraction systems."
The MCC trains will also run throughout New Year's Eve. "24-hour work will be organized on New Year's Eve with a 12-minute interval," the press service of the Department of Transport told TASS.

Transport links between districts, cultural and entertainment facilities on New Year's Eve will be provided by 159 routes of Mosgortrans State Unitary Enterprise. Their routes run in different parts of the city, which will provide transport services to the maximum number of passengers. "This year, an unprecedented decision was made to make the operation of buses, trolleybuses and trams around the clock from December 31 to January 1. After a thorough analysis, 148 daytime routes were selected that will operate throughout New Year's Eve along with 11 night ones," said the CEO State Unitary Enterprise "Mosgortrans" Yevgeny Mikhailov.
For the convenience of passengers on New Year's Eve, routes will operate that provide direct communication between different areas, as well as travel to ice rinks, parks and New Year's festivities.
