Officially, the premiere of the Nissan Qashqai 2 was announced on November 7, 2013, the world presentation of the new car took place at the end of the same month at the Tokyo Motor Show. The crossover is radically different from its predecessor in design. Updates have affected not only the appearance: Nissan Qashqai 2 has a more modern new interior, made from the latest quality materials, innovative technologies were used in its design.
Design Features
The smoother body lines of the 2015 Qashqai visually elongate and elongate the car, while functional roof rails and a special grille design give the look of a compact crossover that fits perfectly into city streets. If we compare 2 with the "little brother", then the length increased by 49 mm, the width - by 20, but the height indicator went down by 15 mm. The volume of the luggage compartment is 430 liters. The new body design made it possible to improve the aerodynamics of the crossover, the aerodynamic drag coefficient was set at around 0.32.

But, as domestic tests have shown, three adults also feel quite comfortable in a double seat.
Technical characteristics of the new crossover.
In the basic configuration, the Nissan Qashqai 2 is equipped with a 1.2-liter gasoline engine: a 115-horsepower DIG-T turbo engine with huge returns (190 Nm). Additionally, the new model range includes new diesel engines 1.5- and 1.6-liter. The most powerful is a four-cylinder turbocharged engine 1.6 for 163 forces (240 Nm) - the most powerful in the history of the Nissan Qashqai.
The latter option is installed exclusively on the front-wheel drive model with a six-speed manual transmission. This Nissan Qashqai 2 accelerates from standstill to 100 km per hour in 9 seconds, and the maximum speed of the new crossover reaches 200 km/h.

In conclusion, we highlight the shortcomings of the Nissan Qashqai 2, which we managed to identify:
- High driver's seat - for people of medium and short stature it is problematic to simply reach the pedals, you have to move the seat almost close to the steering wheel, which somewhat reduces the pleasure of traveling in the new Nissan;
- With a 2.0 engine and automatic transmission, the Nissan Qashqai 2 becomes slow. Such a duet is definitely not suitable for people who love speed.
In general, the Nissan Qashqai 2 is an interesting crossover with an original design and many new useful features that add comfort and pleasure to a trip on such a car. Separately, it is worth focusing on the cost of the car - the difference between the new product and the usual Qashqai is only 20 thousand rubles. Undoubtedly, this is the advantage that made the car popular and in demand.
New Nissan Qashqai 2015

If in parrots, then, probably, not very much, but if in elephants, then wow! Having asked such a seemingly frivolous question, we decided to find a very specific answer to it, expressed in numbers, facts and feelings. And the family crossover Nissan Qashqai + 2 acted as a guide for our research.
Since we started with numbers, let's be consistent and see where, what and how much has been added. Compared to the regular Nissan Qashqai, the plus one has a 135 mm longer wheelbase - now it is 2765 mm. The total length has increased to 4526 mm (plus 211 mm). This made it possible to place two additional seats in the cabin.
The appearance of the third row forced the developers to change the roof profile and increase the height of the Qashqai + 2 by 38 mm. As a result, the ceiling slightly rose, the glass frames in the front doors were changed, and the rear ones on the new version are generally different. They have become longer - to facilitate access to the "gallery".
Capacity Formula
The middle row seats can now be moved back and forth within 240 mm, and their backs not only recline forward, but also have tilt adjustment in the range from 10 to 25 °. In addition to convenience for second-row passengers, this makes it possible to win additional legroom for those sitting in the back. By the way, only children will be able to accommodate there, since the folding armchair of the third row is actually on the floor and it will be completely uncomfortable for adults there. So the name Qashqai + 2 absolutely accurately reflects the state of affairs: the “plus two” here are the same as in the sports coupe with the seating formula 2 + 2.
If on the five-seater version, the backs of the rear seats fold in a ratio of 60:40, then the middle row in Qashqai + 2 has a completely different design - it is divided into three parts in a ratio of 40:20:40. The central part acts as a seat with its own three-point seat belt or turns into a fairly wide armrest. In the second case, passengers have two cup holders and a storage compartment built into the armrest with a sliding cover, which has built-in 12-volt outlets and enough space to fit audio players or game consoles.
Bigger and more comfortable
In addition to increasing passenger capacity, Qashqai + 2 also has more luggage space. The volume of the luggage compartment with the third row seats folded down is 550 liters, which is 140 liters more than the five-seater version. Having folded the middle row, you can get at your disposal 1520 liters for placing things. But in the seven-seat configuration, luggage space, on the contrary, remains much less - only 130 liters. But thanks to the modified tailgate, the loading height has decreased by 13 mm.
Changes in the cargo compartment were reduced not only to an increase in volume. A hidden compartment appeared under the trunk floor, where a removable roller blind is stored. When the rear seats are folded down, you can install a curtain behind the second row and it will cover the entire luggage space. The underfloor compartment lid can also be used as an organizer divider to create space for small items so they don't fly all over the trunk.
A matter of technology
If the dimensions, interior layout and trunk of the Qashqai + 2 have changed a lot compared to the five-seater Qashqai, then from the point of view of mechanics, the cars are almost identical. The differences are mainly suspension settings and larger diameter brakes on the heavier Qashqai+2.
"Plus Two" is built on an extended version of the platform, which also underlies the regular Nissan Qashqai, Nissan X-Trail and Renault Koleos. With the five-seat Qashqai, it shares engines and transmissions. Diesel versions are not available on the Russian market, so our Qashqai + 2 is available either with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine and a five-speed “mechanics”, or with a two-liter unit paired with a CVT or a six-speed manual. The younger version is offered only with front-wheel drive, and the two-liter version can also be purchased in all-wheel drive.
The all-wheel drive scheme is similar to that used on the Nissan X-Trail. The electronically controlled multi-plate clutch that connects the rear wheels has three modes of operation: front-wheel drive (the clutch is fully “dissolved”), automatic rear axle engagement, and 4WD Lock, in which the clutch is completely locked.
In the asphalt jungle
The two-liter all-wheel drive Qashqai + 2 with a CVT, which we took for a test, has quite decent acceleration dynamics. In the front-wheel drive transmission mode, the engine, when starting off “with the pedal to the floor”, easily breaks the wheels into slipping even on dry pavement, so for active driving it makes sense to entrust the connection of the rear axle to automation. In this case, a vigorous start is followed by a smooth acceleration. The motor quickly reaches high speeds, and further acceleration occurs due to a change in the gear ratio by the variator. We did not find much sense in switching to manual control mode of the variator when driving on roads.
The lengthening of the wheelbase had a positive effect on the smoothness of the ride. This is especially noticeable on a gentle longitudinal wave of asphalt. But the crossover sometimes goes through bumps quite hard - it is felt that the rebound travel of the suspension is small.
At first, some completely unnatural effort on the steering wheel is annoying. And after all, it seems that the steering setting is correct - a clear “zero”, a smooth increase in effort as the “steering wheel” is turned ... But there is not enough transparency, “a sense of the road”. After some time, you adapt, the brain makes adjustments on a subconscious level, and you stop constantly paying attention to this “synthetic” nature of the feedback. But the driving pleasure is still not the same, even despite the clear reactions of the car to the steering, minimal rolls and reliable cornering behavior.

Off paved roads, the Qashqai+2 feels very confident thanks to the "correct" settings of the all-wheel drive electronics. The rear axle is connected quite quickly - before the front wheels have time to dig a “trapping hole” for themselves. In difficult situations, you can block the clutch in advance by getting a hard-wired all-wheel drive. The absence of cross-wheel locks is successfully compensated by the work of electronics that slows down the slipping wheels. Even with diagonal hanging Qashqai + 2 continues to move forward confidently, which some serious SUVs often cannot boast of.
Of course, Qashqai + 2 does not belong to the cohort of real "rogues". And yet, in the off-road nomination, “Qashqai with a plus” is able to give odds to most of its parquet competitors.

The history of the creation of Nissan Qashqai
This car was created completely from scratch to fill the popular market niche of compact SUVs. The project was made in the British design center Nissan through digital simulation. The final look of the car was created by London designers, and this look, with minor modifications, we see today. The creators approached the name of the model creatively: the car was named after the ancient tribe of nomads Kashkaev, who lives on the territory of modern Iran to this day. Volkswagen was the first to use this idea, christening its SUV with the name Tuareg, the name of a North American Indian tribe. In Russia, the owners affectionately call these cars "cats", and in their homeland, in Japan, this Nissan is sold under the name Dualis.
For 2019, Nissan announced another restyling of the model regarding the appearance of Qashqai and improvements in electronic equipment. Cars for the Russian market will continue to have an increased ground clearance of 200 mm, and a full-size spare tire in the trunk. According to information from unofficial sources, there is a possibility of the appearance in 2019 of models with a 130 hp diesel unit and a 1.6 liter turbocharged gasoline unit with a capacity of 160 hp.

The initial equipment includes: air conditioning, a proprietary audio system with MP3, power windows front and rear, steering column and driver's seat height adjustment, heated front seats and power mirrors. Active and passive safety functions are assigned to: 6 airbags, stabilization system, cruise control, hill start assistant and telephone hands free. The surcharge to the price of Nissan Qashqai 2017 for the CVT will be 60 thousand rubles. The version with a 2-liter gasoline naturally aspirated engine in the XE configuration also comes only with front-wheel drive at a price of 1,249,000 and 1,309,000 rubles for modifications with 6-speed manual and CVT, respectively.
The most complete range of technical characteristics of the Nissan Qashqai 2017 is presented in the SE package. The equipment will additionally include: climate control, aluminum wheel rims, fog lights and a rain sensor. A 1.2-liter turbo engine in alliance with a manual gearbox is estimated at 1,219,000 rubles, the surcharge for a 2-liter unit will be 120 thousand rubles, for CVTs in both cases you will have to pay an additional 60 thousand rubles. The 1.6-liter turbo-diesel engine comes exclusively with a continuously variable transmission, and for such a 2017 Nissan Qashqai with a new body, the price will be 1,429,000 rubles. For any configuration, all-wheel drive is offered exclusively in conjunction with a 2-liter engine and a CVT. In the SE version, the cost of this modification will be 1,489,000 rubles.
The differences in the SE + configuration are minimal and consist in the presence of a rear-view camera and a navigation system with a 7-inch touch color display. As a result, the SE + package and the price of Nissan Qashqai 2017 offers to increase by only 50 thousand rubles for all modifications, compared to the previous version of the SE. Surcharges for a 2-liter naturally aspirated engine (144 hp) and a CVT are familiar from the previous version - 120 and 60 thousand rubles, respectively. A modification with all-wheel drive, a continuously variable transmission and a 2-liter aspirated engine is estimated at 1,531,000 rubles. The only difference in the technical characteristics of the SE + configuration is the absence of a 1.6-liter turbo-diesel engine with a capacity of 130 forces in the range of engines.
The version with the general name LE offers several variants of configurations and prices for the 2017 Nissan Qashqai in a new body. As a matter of fact, the basic version of the LE starts at 1,559,000 rubles for the initial version with a 2-liter naturally aspirated engine, front-wheel drive and a CVT. Modifications with a 1.2-liter turbo engine and manual transmissions in LE trim levels are not offered at all. The equipment of the crossover is replenished: adaptive headlights with a light sensor, leather interior, branded parking sensors, electric driver's seat adjustments in 6 directions and engine start with a keyless entry button. The surcharge to the price of Qashqai in the LE configuration for a 1.6-liter turbo-diesel engine will be 30 thousand rubles, while for all-wheel drive for an atmospheric 2-liter gasoline unit they will ask for 90 thousand rubles.
The next on the list is the LE package with the prefix "Roof", which means replenishment in the form of a panoramic glass roof and silver roof rails. The price of Nissan Qashqai 2017 in this version starts at 1,584,000 rubles. The LE+ package, in addition to roof rails and a panoramic roof, gets at its disposal: a blind spot monitoring system (BSW), driver fatigue control (DAS), a moving object recognition function (MOD) and an automatic parking system (IPA). The initial price list for the LE + package starts at 1,609,000 rubles. The differences between the LE version with the prefix "Sport" for 1,629,000 rubles come down to the presence of 19-inch aluminum wheels (instead of R17) and the impossibility of ordering a diesel modification. Otherwise, the additional payments to the price of Nissan Qashqai 2017 with a new body for a turbo diesel and all-wheel drive in the configurations described above will amount to 30 and 90 thousand rubles, respectively. The presence of a color with a metallic effect is estimated at 17 thousand rubles, regardless of the version of the Japanese crossover.
New body
In the second generation Nissan Qashqai, the new body (photo) received a higher content of high-strength steels, due to which the curb weight was reduced by 90 kg compared to its predecessor.
