Tiguan problems during operation. Used Volkswagen Tiguan - The fate of technocrats

16.07.2019

Volkswagen Tiguan has been living in Russia - it doesn’t blow in the mustache - since 2007, having survived restyling in 2011. Buyers in the crossover are attracted German practicality, German quality, as well as comfort and friendliness to the driver. Although it is the last thesis that sometimes does not fully correspond to reality: surprisingly, the Tiguan is quite capable of testing the driver for strength. However, first things first. Several owners of different versions of the Tiguan and employees of official dealers help us to compile a medical history, of which the technical specialists of the AvtoGanza company turned out to be the most sociable.

Small resource of silent blocks

“I had a knock for almost a year, I thought the doors were hanging out (very similar). But the OD said that the doors were normal. So, at TO-3 it was strongly said to check what was possible, because the warranty ends. /b of the front levers and replaced under warranty. And, lo and behold, the knock of the "doors" passed. But since there have already been, I think, in 20-30 thousand they will wear out again, "TigSev user wrote on forum.tiguans.ru. If you believe the reviews of the owners, the problem of creaky silent blocks on the Tiguan is a problem, if not ubiquitous, then certainly not unique: there were many replacements under the guarantee, and the rear silent blocks of the front levers especially often suffered.

They blamed everything, as often happens in such cases, with road dirt, which quite easily clogs into silent blocks and provokes unpleasant sounds, simultaneously finishing off the silent block itself.

The technical specialists of the AvtoGanza dealership confirmed that the owners of the Tiguans really turn to them with a complaint about silent blocks - moreover, they come both on pre-styling models and on updated cars. However, as the dealer emphasizes, the problem does not have a mass character - besides, everything depends very much on the operating conditions and mileage of a particular car. In this regard, the manufacturer did not make any changes to the design, however, within the warranty period, creaky silent blocks are replaced with new ones without any problems.

Small life support bearings

“Directly from the passenger compartment there was a creak when the steering wheel was turned, after reading the forum - I thought the norm, many write about it, they say, a feature of the operation of the power plant. left support bearing, the squeak is gone," says breitling on forum.tiguans.ru. The statistics on creaking support bearings on the Tiguan are rather heterogeneous: as a rule, the supporters make themselves felt after 40,000 kilometers, and they die one by one. However, cases of warranty replacement of two bearings at once are known, and at much lower runs.

AutoGanza specialists explain that in general, the situation with thrust bearings is similar to the situation with silent blocks, and it is difficult to collect accurate statistics on the resource of a part due to differences in mileage and operating conditions. However, apparently, in this case, the problem turned out to be more ambitious: as the officials say, the manufacturer has made changes to the design, and at the moment, upgraded thrust bearings are installed on the Tiguan from the factory, and under the guarantee, old parts are replaced with modified counterparts.

Power steering failure

But the owners of Tiguan faced the so-called "red steering wheel" problem with enviable frequency. "The steering wheel is like from KrAZ" - who would have thought that this could be heard about a compact German urban crossover, which is often driven by the fairer sex.

According to the technical specialists of AvtoGanza, the error turned out to be quite common and was of a software nature. "Failures in the electric power steering occurred often. The "red" steering wheel lights up. There have been and are cases of errors occurring while driving. On pre-styling cars, the problem manifested itself and often manifests itself. There are much fewer requests for restyled ones. The solution to the problem in most cases is to replace the software" , officials say.

How can one not remember in light of this - after all, he also had problems with the electric power steering control unit. But the official dealer says that these episodes should not be identified. "The design of the electric power steering on the Polo and Tiguan is different. The Tiguan has a control unit, motor and steering rack - this is one part. The Polo Sedan has an electric power steering built into the steering column. The whole structure is located in the passenger compartment and is less susceptible to an aggressive external environment, but there were problems with workmanship and software," AvtoGanza specialists explained.

The “sores” of the Polo and Tiguan EUR control units are united by the fact that in both cases updated software has already been released, which the dealer installs when the owner contacts it.

Won't start in cold weather

Vokswagen Tiguan is a clockwork machine, but not in severe frosts. A starter that refuses to do its job is not uncommon, and the manufacturer has already found an explanation for this. "Due to low temperatures and high humidity (fog and / or water splashes), ice forms on the contact pin (inside the starter). The movements of the relay suck / pump moisture through the vents into the starter. Due to the location of the starter directly behind the radiator, it is blown by cold air , and additionally cooled through the copper wire of the B + pin. For this reason, ice forms on the B + pin inside the starter relay," the manufacturer's technical bulletin explains.

However, in "AvtoGanza" they note that such incidents with "Tiguans" have recently occurred quite rarely. In addition, the dealer says, last winter was relatively warm, and did not give any particular reason for the starter to freeze. The fact that the problem with the solenoid relay occurs infrequently is also noted in the service bulletin. In this case, in which case the owner can solve the problem on his own. As the technical bulletin prescribes, it is possible to start six times no longer than two seconds in order to melt the ice through the heating of the supply winding, but at the same time not to overload the ignition switch. Then repeat the launch five more times to evaporate the moisture.

Nevertheless, although being rare, such a problem, apparently, continues to be relevant. “Well, my retractor relay has frozen too. Because I recently installed a new battery, I decided to “warm up” the relay according to the classical method. "Pink started up. The car stood in the cold for 4 days without moving. I suspect that the formation of ice could provoke a visit to the underground parking of the shopping center - the humidity there is huge, and the temperature is slightly above zero," says user niksfromru all on the same forum.tiguans.ru .

ABS malfunction

"On ice, it slows down like a cow on ... actually, on ice!", - sometimes one could hear from Tiguan owners. It was not uncommon for the car to be jittery when slowing down on slippery surfaces or on rough roads - the ABS not only worked with a delay, but also made the brake pedal behave strangely - it suddenly became tight and almost threw off the driver's leg, trying to return to its place. But inadequate brakes are not the most harmless "sore": hardly anyone wants to play the guessing game "slow down / not slow down."

As a result, the manufacturer actually found a defect in the ABS unit software, which "infected" cars manufactured between 2012 and 2014. A corrected firmware was released and a corresponding technical bulletin was issued, which ordered that a software update be carried out if the owner complained of inadequate brake performance. After 2014, according to officials, the correct software is installed on cars, which ensures the most efficient and safe operation of the braking system.

Of course, the owners of classmates-competitors can gloat and be in full confidence that they definitely made the right choice and bought the most reliable and trouble-free car. But there are no perfect cars, and the fact that your favorite model has not yet appeared in this section means only one thing: we just haven’t got to it yet.

A very popular car as a whole confirmed expectations about "real German quality". True, those who want to save money and buy a car with an economical 1.4 TSI engine risk much more than those who choose honest 2 liters.

This is not to say that VW did not produce compact SUVs until 2007. For example, there was Kübelwagen, aka Typ 82, which was made from 1939 to 1945, and in recent history, the 2nd generation Golf had an off-road configuration ... But the unequivocal success of the Touareg and the high demand for everything that remotely resembled an SUV , clearly hinted that it was time to release a small, and therefore almost “popular” crossover.

The new car was shown to the public in 2006, and sales began only at the end of 2007. It turns out that the hero of today's Volkswagen Tiguan review will soon celebrate its decade. During this period, he managed to gain a large number of both positive and negative reviews, collect both fans and haters of the model. Whichever one of them is right, this is one of the most popular cars in its class, and it has just completed its life cycle - last year on the MQB platform. It's time to sum up the release of the old one.

Platform

Volkswagen Tiguan ‘2008–11

When creating the younger crossover model, the company did not reduce the large and expensive Touareg. The new car was created on the inexpensive mass platform PQ35, on which other cars of the concern were already produced. Of course, the motor of the new car is transverse, the rear axle drive is connected through the Haldex clutch, the multi-link at the back, the MacPherson strut at the front. And all the things for which the Golf and related cars are loved: excellent ergonomics, high quality finishes and workmanship. And, of course, the car inherited all the negative qualities of this platform - not the most successful engines and gearboxes, as well as complex electronics and suspensions. However, first things first.

What is good Tiguan

The first reviews of journalists about the car were enthusiastic. Handling is excellent, the dynamics are very convincing, fuel consumption with a 1.4 engine and diesels is extremely low. And even the off-road qualities of the car in the Trend & Fun, Sport & Style trim levels turned out to be very high, and the “road” version of the Track & Field was limited primarily by the front exit angles due to the use of a more aerodynamic bumper.

Without much exaggeration, we can say that the car turned out to be one of the best in its class, displacing both the Toyota RAV4 and the European bestseller Qashqai.

Boxed mess

As usual, it was not without a fly in the ointment - very quickly the Europeans discovered that it was in off-road sorties that the preselective “robots” that VW was so proud of performed poorly. The clutches quickly overheated when moving slowly over rough terrain. Probably for this reason, in the Russian versions of the car, they immediately abandoned the use of even the very reliable DSG 6 and the new DSG 7 of the DQ500 series (with wet clutches).

They replaced the dubious “robot” with the classic Aisin hydromechanics, and with 1.4 engines, they generally offered only “mechanics” until 2011. "Wet" DSG-6 began to be installed only after restyling and only for front-wheel drive cars. Europeans, on the other hand, had DSG installed on cars with 1.4 engines, and also with wet clutches, as with “adult” engines. For two-liter gasoline engines with a capacity of 170 and 180 hp. put Aisin until 2010, keeping DSG on more powerful ones. In general, the history of the automatic transmission is confusing to the point of impossibility.

Assembly

A special detective story is connected with the choice of the place of production of the car. The Portuguese factory SEAT Auto Europa was bidding for a potentially very popular model, which would have saved jobs once the VW Sharan/Ford Galaxy was completed. Both the government of the country and trade unions acted on the side of the plant.

But mindful of the not very high quality of the cars of this plant, VW nevertheless built a new Auto 5000 factory specifically for the production of Tiguan in Germany, in Wolfsburg. At the same time, the peculiarities of assigning models to factories became known: it turns out that within the company there is internal competition among industries for the production of a certain model, and this competition is very tough. The presence of investors at the plant itself, and production indicators, and much more are taken into account. By the way, as a result, Tiguan was made not only in Wolfsburg, but also in Russian Kaluga, and in Shanghai, and in Vietnamese Hai Phong.

Breakdowns and problems in operation

Body and interior

The glory of indestructible, stainless and maintenance-free cars, which arose in the 90s on the wave of passion, brought Volkswagen immense popularity in Russia. However, everything goes to the fact that soon there will be a "rollback" of public opinion. And it's not just the DSG boxes. Well-painted car bodies of both Kaluga and German assembly in general look better in age than their Japanese competitors, and even some European ones. Yes, and plastic panels protect the paint from sandblasting and stones, which means they make the paintwork more reliable.

But corrosion gradually manifests itself at the seams, the sealant swells, red traces appear, the paint flies in the most unexpected places, for example, on doorways. And this despite the fact that the average age of cars is still completely “childish”, which means that all the problems have not yet manifested themselves.

In general, it is recommended to pay close attention to the condition of the body in terms of corrosion, and not just for traces of accidents. By the way, plastic door linings do not hold very well, and if mobility appears, they will easily ruin the paint at the attachment points, so keep the doorways clean, free of dirt and ice. If you already have a Tiguan, then you should think about anticorrosive - it's much cheaper than solving problems with the body in another five years.

The salon of cars on the PQ35 platform as a whole is distinguished by excellent ergonomics, high quality and ... boredom. The Tiguan is no exception. A comfortable, convenient and "gray" car will appeal to those who are not looking for new sensations, but just want quality and convenience.

Of course, there are disadvantages: for example, the seats are rather weak, the driver’s adjustment mechanic often fails, and the “leather” of the coating turns out to be not very natural and completely unreliable - already by 80 thousand mileage the leather seats look wrinkled.

A typical problem for all platform machines is "crickets" in the air ducts. Here, too, extraneous noise is often created by the right air duct and its dampers. And also frankly tight door seals, which at first interfere with easy closing, literally after three or four years they slip through and begin to make noise and let dust and dirt in from the street. Most often, the problem is eliminated with an extra layer of seals, because installing a new original will again make the door slam, like in the old Zhiguli.

The not-too-reliable climate unit of pre-styling cars is sometimes replaced with a new one, with “twists”, without waiting for failures, and in general, thanks to the many cars on this platform, some of them have long turned into “constructors”. On used copies, there are buttons from other trim levels, and seat boxes from Audi, and backlight from Passat, and chairs from Golf GTI.

Don't be too scared. The owners really like the car, but the simplicity of its interior is annoying for many, so, armed with catalogs, many are looking for interesting equipment from platform machines. Then, armed with Vasya the diagnostician, they courageously install unknown options and devices.

That's what can not be installed, so it's normal navigation, and indeed multimedia here is not the most successful. Poor support for Android and iOS devices, lack of normal traffic display, high price for a frankly outdated solution ... These features can be forgiven for a cheaper Golf, but the crossover is much more expensive and such greed of the manufacturer already looks bad.

Serious problems include the tendency of machines on this platform to clog drainage and gradually wet the floor mats. This leads to multiple electronics failures and wiring harness problems, especially the part that goes to the right front door. There are also cars with assembly flaws, and not always Russian ones. Poorly screwed elements, incomprehensible "crickets" - this is not necessarily a consequence of interior repairs. There are instances that clearly have these problems from a factory in Germany.

Electrician

As you understand, the electrical part can deliver a lot of trouble on cars over the age of three to five years. Moreover, for younger people, there are no problems at all, except for multimedia systems. As a result, opinions differ greatly: someone has already encountered difficult-to-solve electrical problems and curses everyone and everything, while someone has no serious breakdowns for five years of operation and only sees with displeasure an increasing oil appetite.

In general, the electrics are quite reliable and do not irritate with minor glitches and failures. In addition, it is similar to more than a dozen car models, and it is well known in both official and unofficial services. Only to treat problems, if they have already appeared, can be very different. For officials, this is often the replacement of harnesses and blocks, which turns out to be very expensive, while for craftsmen - local repairs, replacement of individual parts of the harnesses, drying of connectors ...

If you take care of the door harnesses, do not let the connectors turn sour, monitor the serviceability of the drainage of the engine shield and do not fill the engine compartment with dirt, then there are good chances that the car will be limited to annoying failures, for example, climate control or taillights.

In the fourth or fifth year of life, you can expect the "death" of the battery. The load on it is large, the generator operates with low voltage even at low temperatures. On the oldest cars, it is recommended to pay close attention to the wiring to the steering rack, there are quite large currents, and if the connectors are leaking, they simply burn out. Replacing the rack and wiring harness can be up to half the cost of the car, so it's best to play it safe in advance. But in general, as you understand, the price of electrical repairs can be shocking.

Chassis

To the credit of the PQ35 platform, all VW cars can be considered almost perfect in this. Even taking into account the fact that there is a multi-link at the back, there are no particular doubts about the reliability. The main suspension components travel 100-150 thousand kilometers, wheel bearings serve the same amount. Only the rear silent blocks of the front levers, the anti-roll bars and some silent blocks at the rear change more often. The repair price is also not prohibitive, a good selection of non-original components and even an inexpensive original.

The brake system also did not let us down, and the discs and pads cost very moderately, but last a long time. Discs - usually at least 50 thousand kilometers, pads - at least 30-40. But the firmware of the ABS unit causes inconvenience to many. According to the results of a journalistic investigation of one publication, it turned out that the system releases the wheels too much in corners and on the “comb”, which can lead to serious consequences. This is where all the tales of the opponents of the ABS show up - the system simply does not allow to slow down. The situation can be corrected by updating the block software, this should be done free of charge as part of a recall campaign, but for some reason, on most machines, the firmware is still old, factory. The new firmware does not completely solve the problem, but it significantly reduces the braking distance in such situations, so it's worth updating.

transmissions

Mechanical boxes do not have serious problems with the resource, but I will traditionally remind you that the flywheels here are two-mass, very expensive. They sometimes need to be repaired or changed, otherwise there is a chance to break the box and starter for a very serious amount. But with automatic transmissions, as mentioned above, there is a complete leapfrog.

In Russia, the car was sold mainly with the Aisin TF60-SN / VW 09G / M hydromechanical automatic transmission, which is considered reliable and trouble-free. Until it breaks, of course. Indeed, on most VWs, this box works in conditions of very severe overheating, and the Tiguan is no exception. An oil change every 40-60 thousand kilometers and the installation of a “hot country package”, which includes a separate radiator and automatic transmission filter, are highly recommended.

And this automatic transmission has a very capricious and difficult to repair valve body, and very expensive at the same time. In general, such a box can cover its 100-150 thousand kilometers even in hard conditions and without additional cooling, but if you are counting on a longer operation, then it is better to intervene in the factory design and seriously think about improvements.

After 2011, cars with DSG DQ250, also known as DSG-6, officially began to be sold. This venerable box has not too many problems, especially in combination with a 1.4 engine. She is also prone to overheating in traffic jams and especially when driving off-road. Because of this, and also because of the rapid contamination of the oil with clutch lining wear products, it is worth halving the oil change interval and being prepared for failures of the mechatronic valve body.

However, to demonize this box is definitely not worth it. Clutches in an oil bath do not burn and do not crumble, as on a “dry” DQ200 (DSG-7), and it transfers the moment even from a two-liter engine perfectly. There are few specialists in the car, there are a number of nuances in the mechanical part, and the valve body is not officially repaired. But everything is unofficially repaired, and you can even order spare parts yourself, for example, on AliExpress. In Europe, such a box was installed on front- and all-wheel drive cars with 1.4 150-160 hp engines and on two-liter gasoline engines from the very beginning of the model's release. We have few European cars, but still they are found. Again, an external heatsink and an external filter for this box are highly recommended.

The most powerful engines 2.0 TSI 211 hp. even we relied on a seven-speed DSG box of the DQ500 series. In Europe, it was installed on all diesel engines, and even on some 1.4, not to mention the 200- and 211-horsepower versions of the two-liter engine. Such a "robot" is noticeably more reliable than a six-step, and certainly has nothing to do with the infamous "dry" box DQ200 at all.

This unit was developed for the commercial VW Transporter and made it really reliable. It cannot be said that it is completely problem-free, but it is much better at moving at low speed in difficult conditions due to other gear ratios, less prone to pollution and mechatronics failures. Yes, and the resource of clutches is much higher. On minibuses, even in urban operation, there are cars with 300-400 thousand mileage and without any work on the "robot". The box has one minus: if something fails, then the contract unit will be very expensive, and there will be very few specialists. Yes, and the price of consumables bites.

Even on pre-styling machines, the rear axle drive clutch turned out to be very troublesome - the fourth generation Haldex is there. And with frequent off-road trips and regular "annealing", the oil change interval in practice should not exceed 30-40 thousand kilometers. Moreover, both the oil and the filter for the system are easiest to find in the catalogs ... Volvo (part number 31325173). If you neglect the replacements, then the pump of the system will fail, and the car will turn into a strictly front-wheel drive. After 2011, the clutch was changed to Haldex V - it is noticeably more reliable and simply does not allow itself to overheat like that. The transmission overheating lamp on the dashboard will light up more often, but the clutch itself no longer requires such a frequent oil change.

Petrol engines

Motors 1.4 of the EA111 family on it are several series: CAXA and CZDB with a capacity of 122 hp. and CZDA with a capacity of 150 forces have one turbocharger each. But CAVA and CAVD are distinguished by an interesting power system - it uses a turbine and a drive compressor at the same time. However, the main problems of the family remained: a weak piston group, a weak chain, a lubrication system operating at the limit, a high load on the liners, weak turbines and high-pressure fuel pumps, a quickly polluted intercooler with a weak pump.

It is expected that low-power versions are less likely to have problems with a complete failure of the piston group, but 150- and 160-horsepower versions suffer from turbine failures with compressors and fatal destruction of pistons. Dual supercharged engines are also distinguished by enviable complexity - the throttle system is prone to freezing in winter. The compressor drive clutch, combined with the pump, costs about 30 thousand rubles and is a consumable. It needs to be changed at the same time as the pump, and additionally, out of turn, when it burns out, which is not so rare.

1 / 2

2 liter engines of the EA888 family have several options at once: CAWA, CAWB, CCZA and CCZB. But the essence is the same - these are almost the same engines with minimal differences in the power system and turbines. The common problems of this family are the tendency to coking of the piston group due to unsuccessful oil scraper rings and piston, high load on the crankcase ventilation system due to unsuccessful compression rings, constantly dirty throttle and rather weak timing (however, much more reliable than 1.4) . The strengths of these motors are excellent traction throughout the entire rev range and fantastic tuning options.

Even a simple chip tuning can make the Tiguan a competitor to the Golf R. 300-340 hp. - this is not the limit for a nominally 170-horsepower engine. The reverse side of this is the presence of both a huge number of cheap firmware, and a whole bunch of cars left by "racers". If the engine was handled carefully, then most likely its resource before serious repairs will be 120-160 thousand kilometers, the timing and a serious "oil burner" are unlikely to allow more.

If the motor was seriously chipped, then anything is possible. Firstly, they often serve better, and more frequent oil changes and better oil can work a small miracle - there will be no "maslozhor". But the timing and turbines here will be in a more deplorable state. There are also problems with the drive of the intake manifold flaps - the plastic rod flies due to wear or the filter in the vacuum drive becomes clogged, but the officials change the manifold assembly.

Even on two-liter engines, the resource of ignition modules is noticeably less than 1.4. Owners often try to find some solutions, order modules from other engines, look for modules with Audi, etc., etc. But this does not change the essence of the matter, even original NGK modules with their own spark plugs fail quite often. Again, due to the prevalence of engines in this family, the problems and their solutions have long been known. It's just that most car owners tend to bury their heads in the sand and prefer expensive official service and official solutions. But on Tiguan there is no particular alternative to gasoline 2.0TSI. Diesel engines are much more reliable, but they have their own nuances.

Diesel engines

Actually, the diesel here is also only a two-liter. In Russia, only the 140-horsepower CBAB was officially sold, but the Europeans were offered the whole range, from 110 to 184 hp. (CFFD, CUVC, CFGC, CUWA), including those with urea neutralization. These motors are reliable, as diesels can be reliable with their extremely vulnerable power supply system, particulate filter and diesel fuel freezing in winter.

In addition, top-end engines have piezo injectors with a limited resource and frequent failures. If you are a careful owner, then the diesel will please you, but one unsuccessful refueling - and now there are four nozzles of 30 thousand rubles each, plus a high-pressure fuel pump, plus all the filters and the bill for tank flushing and replacement work. A total of 160 thousand. And savings - as if it had never happened.

A common misfortune of all machines with an autonomous heater is the obvious corrosion of its tubes and leakage of antifreeze. This, by the way, applies not only to diesel, but also to gasoline cars.

What to choose?

Let's just get rid of everything else. For example, cars with 1.4 engines, unless you have a fad on fuel consumption. You should only be afraid of DSG on a Tiguan if you spend half your life in traffic jams. Well, or if you are a Muscovite, which is almost the same thing.

Everyone else will love a seven- or even six-speed DSG, although a simple Aisin with proper care is just as good. Which of the two-liter engines to choose is already a personal matter for the future owner. Diesels are definitely more resourceful, but noticeably more expensive to repair fuel equipment. Gasoline engines have a quite predictable average resource, understandable problems with oil consumption and other “nuances” that can also be solved if there is money.

And if you definitely need all-wheel drive, then the restyled Tiguan with a more reliable Haldex V clutch is definitely the best choice. A bonus is a slightly more interesting interior and exterior.

But in any case, before buying a Tiguan, you should first assess how ready you are for the deadly calm of this car's design, internal and external, and whether you are sufficiently resistant to the temptations of its dynamics and driving characteristics.

amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;a href="http://polldaddy.com/poll/9285718/"amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp ;gt;Would you buy a Volkswagen Tiguan?amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/aamp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;

Thanks to cars like the Volkswagen Tiguan, people have become accustomed to the fact that everything new, complex and advanced should require additional investments, as a tribute to the opportunity to experience modern technologies. It is a pity that not all applicants for used cars realize that they are choosing the difficult fate of technocrats.

Maybe that's why people don't line up for used Tiguans like they do for a new iPhone. Because of this, the loss of liquidity from year to year and, accordingly, the inexorable decline in value. In principle, for Volkswagen lovers, the picture is already familiar, as are piston repairs for 40 thousand kilometers, early wear of the chain, turbine, and electrical problems. So let's see if the Tiguan has such a bad reputation to turn its nose up at used options, or just need to understand the engines?

Neither the chain nor the Tiguan gears can be called "eternal". As you can see, some parts are made in China.

Choose your problem

Unlike the platform Skoda Yeti, Volkswagen Tiguan did not see the naturally aspirated 1.6 engine, and the entire line of high-performance turbocharged units was overgrown with delicate, if not intimate, problems. The most expensive "disease" of gasoline engines was the burnout of the pistons and the melting of their partitions. Needless to say, most often 1.4 engines “inflated” up to 150 hp fell on the bulkhead, the very ones that won awards due to their characteristics. After numerous complaints, the mechanical compressor was removed from the unit, leaving 122 hp (CAXA) alone with other typical problems of VW gasoline turbos.

For Tiguan owners, this is already a typical picture. Burnt piston, chipped ring partition

There were quite a few weak points in the entire line, I suspect there would be even more if 1.2 TFSI were installed not only on Yeti, but also on Tiguan. Pumps are flowing with bitter tears over the former German quality, exhaust manifolds are painfully crackling, stretched chains are clicking, turbines are booing the engineers who have laid down such a low resource. Problems with the EGR valve and manifold air pressure are perceived as commonplace. Half of the used Tiguans inspected had malfunctions in the crankcase circulation system.

Factory assembly features. The nut loosened and damaged the impeller. Insert for replacement

Why is 2 liters better?

In the top-end 2.0 engine (CAWA, CAWB), cases of burn-out of “regular” pistons are less common, upgraded parts generally hold up as they should. But on trifles, the motor can burden no less. For example, ignition coils are used to “dying” not one at a time, but 2-3 at once, that is, high-quality fuel and short candle replacement times will help save the budget.

In fact, there are two problems in this photo: 1. The collector will burst 2. The pressure regulator is worn out, the ringing of which became audible at “supercharged” speeds

Large financial investments are not required for elimination even in case of wear of the turbine actuator, which is usually marked by a ringing sound and is accompanied by errors in “underblowing”. Tiguan owners are used to repairing the “non-pumping” high-pressure fuel pump of a 2-liter engine themselves, managing to replace the pusher, after which the pressure in the system returns to normal. When something like this happens on a diesel version, owners usually clutch at their hearts.

Similar deposits in the intake manifold and on the throttle are typical for all cars that have not yet disabled the ERG valve. Periodic cleaning required

On the other hand, the chain does not stretch on diesel fuel cars, since the timing drive is belt-driven and, according to the regulations, changes after 90 tkm. Diesel units, in principle, turned out to be more tenacious, but at the same time less adapted to Russian winters, which is logical in principle. Starting into deep "minuses" usually causes problems.

Intake manifold flap problems are usually fixed on their own.

DSG and Haldex all-wheel drive

Fortunately, the rest of the Volkswagen Tiguan nodes decently smooth out the overall picture of the car and allow you to pull out, as it might seem at first glance, a C grade to a higher rating in the chain of our reviews. For example, the "automatic" 09G, except for the periodic replacement of the rubber support and oil, does not require anything for a long time. There is nothing to say about the manual transmission, there are no questions to it at all. Interestingly, the manufacturer decided to play it safe and, before restyling, did not put his overpriced DSG on the Volkswagen Tiguan at all. It wasn't until 2011 that a 6-speed wet-clutch robot was paired with a 1.4-liter lineup, and rightly so, there were simply no more bad reviews than the DSG-7.

The outboard bearing will last longer if you do not abuse the relief and monitor the presence of lubrication

And, again, it is worth paying tribute to the 7-speed robot, with the proper approach to maintenance and a competent driving style, it is able to withstand 150 thousand kilometers without changing the clutches. It’s a pity that the cat cried such owners. Much more common are those who, on the contrary, use a modest resource of aggregates to the fullest.

The Haldex clutch pump is at risk for those who neglect to change the oil in the assembly and like to anneal with slippage

The same applies not only to the dynamic capabilities of the car, but also to its off-road qualities. As it turned out, many owners, who overestimated the terrain, manage to break through the gearbox pan, protected by a regular “foil”, referred to as protection in order orders of car dealerships. In other matters, forays into the mud for the Tiguan are also contraindicated, as you risk overheating the Haldex all-wheel drive. The clutch already suffers from chronic hydraulic pump failures. Speaking in general terms, then change the oil in the gearboxes on time, do not drive and you will be happy.

A car with a load-bearing body and an electric fluid coupling will be able to pass diagonal hanging, but at your expense

Golf platform

There are almost no weak points in the chassis. Even a stabilizer strut resource of 60-70 thousand km can be considered solid. The front torsion bar bushings live a little longer, but dealer repairs only involve replacing the entire system assembly. In order to save money, you will have to buy gum from Opel and go to a third-party service. Next on the way, as a rule, are wheel bearings and rear silent blocks of the front levers. It is better to immediately change both in pairs, since their resource is approximately the same - 80-100 thousand km. Everything else, including shock absorbers, usually lasts much longer, and it’s not worth planning a major overhaul of the chassis before 150 tkm.

Shock absorbers are extremely tenacious, they can easily pass 150 tkm

In general, everything is fine with the brakes, the main thing is to make sure that the ABS unit has the latest firmware version, otherwise the Tiguan can decently “stretch” forward when braking hard on an uneven section. Steering sometimes requires intervention, but mostly not even because of the tips, but because of electrical failures. For example, oxidized and damaged EUR contacts can be expensive. Just one of the Tiguans we examined required the replacement of the entire assembly. The signal light on the dashboard was off, but the gain itself seemed very suspicious, as it happened with jerks. Of course, computer diagnostics produced a string of errors with system malfunctions.

In this photo, one problem has been eliminated (the lever silent block is already new), and the second, unfortunately, is no longer fixable - the car was badly damaged in an accident

The electric handbrake also sometimes mopes, especially in the cold season, when the driving mechanisms are constrained by moisture. Because of this, the drive motor may be replaced. In frosts, as a rule, crickets wake up, having a completely standard location in the area of \u200b\u200bair duct deflectors and elements of the center console, which is not made of the softest plastic.

An attempt to "eliminate" the crickets in the panel ended in a deflector failure. Plastic is cheap

Tiguan with mileage of 100 thousand km

The appearance of the interior from year to year is not lost as quickly as, for example, in the budget Polo Sedan, however, fabric seats also get dirty easily, and pseudo-leather seats can crack at folds up to 100 thousand km. Although in general, even after 100 thousand km, the Tiguan can look very fresh, which is often used by dishonest sellers who “twist” the mileage. Fortunately, information about the distance traveled is stored in a variety of control units. From my own experience I will say that even these testimonies should not be trusted, it is still better to build on the condition of the car and take into account many indirect signs.

This car has a significantly different mileage in the engine ECU than declared

As already mentioned, after the first "hundred" Tiguan retains its original appearance well, but this is the danger of buying, because a car that is well-groomed at first glance is often technically already "dying". This is especially true for cars with a 1.4 engine. In almost all instances, whichever engine you choose, on a run of 100 thousand km, the turbine is already covered with a “coat” of oil passed into the manifold, and there are also problems with the circulation of crankcase gases. For some reason, the rear silent blocks of levers are always in a shabby form.

Many did not like the standard multimedia system, but third-party head units do not want to be “friends” with the multifunction steering wheel

With other components and systems, with rare exceptions, there are usually no problems, however, almost all specimens inspected before purchase, even very fresh ones, have “repaints” on the body. It is difficult to say what this is connected with, most likely, with dynamic capabilities. One way or another, Tiguan is afraid of corrosion, but not much, the bare metal is only covered with a reddish film without further spread. The only exceptions are the seams under the windshield molding.

Corrosion for Tiguan is a rare thing, but quite real

Choosing a Tiguan

As we can see, a used Volkswagen Tiguan is quite dangerous, especially when it comes to a car with a mileage of over a hundred. Naturally, the “killer” regulations, driving style and fuel quality played a big role in the deterioration of the reputation. Therefore, it is possible to find a properly serviced car, but it is better to refuse versions with a 1.4 engine altogether, at least from 150-horsepower modifications for sure. Among the 2.0-liter units, the least “inflated” would be preferable, and even better, a diesel engine paired with a hydraulic automatic or manual transmission. As is the case with many other "Germans", any used Tiguan requires mandatory computer diagnostics. Albeit with a margin of error, but still it is possible to assess the condition of the circuit, the rest of the “robot” clutches, identify possible malfunctions of the power steering, etc.

The interior of the Tiguan is able to retain its original appearance for a long time. All cars tested before buying had no problems with this.

Reducing everything to a common denominator, we come to the conclusion that with a competent approach to even a used Volkswagen Tiguan should not ask for large investments. The most desirable options are cars that have already been at the dealer's "capital", as the pistons and chain are changed to upgraded reinforced ones. However, all the same, I am haunted by the thought that you and I have come to the time when the repair of SHPGs at low mileage has become the norm for Volkswagen.

VIN Location and Engine Numbers

The main Tiguan VIN number is located on the right "cup" under the "jabot" and access to it opens after removing one clip and removing the plastic cap. Duplicate markings are located under the windshield and on the sticker of the central left pillar. By the way, by the latter you can find out the engine model. But the number of the power unit itself is located inconveniently - in front of the cylinder block at the junction with the gearbox. Access to it is closed by a mass of wiring harnesses and branch pipes. The data is duplicated on a sticker on the left side of the motor on a plastic casing near the expansion tank, the only thing is that you should not trust this piece of paper 100%.

It will not be difficult to find the VIN number, but you will have to look for the engine marking and, sometimes, you can’t do without partial disassembly

Tiguan competitors

If you nevertheless scrolled through the paragraph “Choosing a Tiguan”, then most likely you were also frightened by the current trends of the VAG concern and, having chosen the platform Skoda Yeti as an alternative, it is unlikely that you will be able to get rid of all of the above, even if you consider that the “Czech” has a slightly different motor line - weak points are almost the same. You can also lay eyes on the "Koreans" Hyundai ix35 and Kia Sportage, but their G4KD engine is reputed to be a little less bad and also protests the piston against active driving. The engines of Japanese competitors are more reliable, but the price of used cars is appropriate. Thus, you can pay attention to Toyota Rav4, Honda CR-V, Suzuki SX4, Mazda CX-5, Nissan Qashqai will also be a good option.

Already so famous in the Russian market, Volkswagen Tiguan has a modern design, with outlines typical of the presented brand. With each new modification, new and improved auxiliary systems appear in the car. They provide tangible assistance to the driver while driving. It is impossible to argue with the fact that the car is quite comfortable, which is very important for its owner. After all, the driver spends a lot of time in the cabin. Therefore, the manufacturer has tried to make it as comfortable as possible.

Attention! For every owner of this car, the manufacturer promises excellent traction on almost any surface. The all-wheel drive system evenly distributes torque between the rear and front axles and wheels. Due to this, cases of slipping and blocking are prevented as much as possible.

After analyzing the chassis, you can understand that this is a typical Volkswagen. It does not have the ability to swing. But at the same time, even on low-profile tires, he does not “count the vertebrae” of the driver. The suspension is quiet, adaptive, collected. Many modifications have a dynamic chassis control system. Depending on which ride profile the driver has chosen, this system quickly changes the stiffness of the shock absorbers.

In general, the manufacturer did not present any surprises for motorists. Naturally, Tiguan tried to improve in all directions. It was made more spacious, more economical, safer. But not much. In theory, it should become more passable than its predecessors. Motorists willingly buy this modification. This brand has already gained momentum in the world market, so Tiguan does not fall in price for many years after release. Which is appreciated by its owners. Wanting to purchase a new modification, they successfully sell the old car with virtually no financial loss.

Undoubtedly, there are many good qualities in this car, but what should you pay attention to when buying and will new drivers have unexpected unpleasant surprises when operating the Tiguan?

Owner reviews

I would not recommend this car for long term use. Although it is quite comfortable, its systems surprise me every year. From year to year, the drive for cleaning the rear window fails. At the same time, the water supply stops both on the rear and on the front glass. This problem has become so regular that after each repair I am ready for the next one. Some components of the car simply do not withstand frost and freezing rain. It is immediately clear that this model is not adapted to our climate. In addition, every year I systematically turn to the service due to the fact that water gets into the contacts. After that, many systems begin to act up. The manufacturer did not initially improve the insulation. In the owners' reviews of the Volkswagen Tiguan, such shortcomings are indicated. I'm sorry I read it too late.
Now, in order to bring all the systems back to normal, I pay at least 5,000 rubles for this. Such repairs periodically hit my wallet due to the fact that they have to be done very often.

I can not say that there is something special in this car. The advantages that I immediately noted for myself is a comfortable lounge. As for me, everything is in its place. Inside the car is more comfortable.
It all seems to me that the engine of this car is “disposable” !! The intake manifold failed already at the 50th thousand kilometers. Even earlier, after 30 thousand kilometers, all the stabilizer struts had to be changed. Then there were serious problems with the rear brake suits. The vaunted German "high-quality" components did not even show themselves, but were already out of order. If I had read the owner reviews about the Volkswagen Tiguan before buying, all the minuses, I definitely would not have taken it.

At the time of purchase, I was told that such a common model as the Volkswagen could always be sold very easily and quickly on the secondary market. Friends said that this should not be done, and in the reviews of the owners of the Tiguan, all its disadvantages and breakdowns were in full view. But I didn't listen to anyone.
Bought the car already with mileage. Immediately decided to play it safe and the official representatives changed all the consumables. The only thing left is the brake pads. They didn't wear out much at the time. The first failure that I encountered was the failure of the pads. They made themselves felt with a strong and sharp creak when braking. The inner part was completely worn out, since the outer part was worn out by half. After that, problems with the car went down the chain. Components began to fail one by one. Unfortunately, I endured for a long time until I decided to get rid of the car. Now I only regret that I did not sell it earlier, immediately after the quick erasing of the pads.

Bought a used Tiguan. After a short operation, I decided to undergo a full maintenance in order to cure all malfunctions in one fell swoop. I paid an unreasonably high price for the process. In the end, they told me that everything is fine, and I can safely go on. I had traveled only 2,000 kilometers when my check engine light came on. I calmly arrived at the same technical service center, where I was given a thorough diagnosis. They said that in the third cylinder I have gaps due to a blown piston. They finished me off by saying, again, the unjustified price for repairs of 120 thousand rubles. I did not agree to such an amount in principle and the same work to restore the engine was carried out in garages for 60 thousand rubles. When minor breakdowns that appeared all too often began to haunt me, I successfully sold the car to dealers, covering the cost of repairs, and calmly exhaled.

I read the reviews of the owners of the volkswagen tiguan and its shortcomings, and decided to leave my contribution. In principle, despite all the shortcomings, I have been driving this car for the fourth year. And now I can certainly give a normal and impartial assessment.
I'll start with the look. The car paint is just awful. In the third year of operation, the paint is already noticeably coming off. This already suggests that this brand is completely unsuitable for the Russian climate. Perhaps I was just unlucky in this regard with the choice of modification.
Nobody argues that while driving it is very comfortable. The dynamics of the car is excellent. In principle, this is all I can say in favor of the machine.
For me there is not enough space in the trunk. Every 90 thousand kilometers I constantly check the performance of the suspension and silent blocks. As a rule, it is at this time that they begin to give the first failures. And for our fuel, the engine of the car is too technologically advanced.

I think that in terms of price-quality ratio, the car justifies itself. Dynamics suits, and overtaking is pretty good, obedient. I also like the soundproofing. I talk to passengers very calmly. I got lucky with the suspension. It is soft and absorbs shock well. The first time I changed the front stabilizer struts after 60 thousand kilometers. The rear ones still work well.
During operation, I managed to notice that the windshield of the car is quite fragile. As soon as an insignificant and small chip appears, cracks spread along the glass from edge to edge. I changed it twice according to CASCO. It was also frustrating that I replaced the intercooler twice. The first changed after 50 thousand kilometers, and the second at the 80th thousand kilometers. At that time, no dealer could give a reason. But now everything is fine.

I believe that a good car will behave well even in winter. But after I bought a Volkswagen Tiguan, I realized that this car is completely unsuitable for this climate. The paint slips very quickly, the car, on my own hope, starts in the mornings in the winter. Wipers very long behind the ice. Since it takes a long time to warm up, I put them in service mode at night. Literally two years later, the car lost that respectable appearance in which I bought it. In addition, there is no protective mesh on the radiator. I constantly had to clean it unscheduled. I bought the grid separately and installed it only after the third time of cleaning, because I could not stand it. Many nuances, such as a new protective mesh or additional sound insulation, had to be finalized on our own. Of course, this was not a small amount. But I spent even more time on such garage events. And I learned a serious lesson from this. I will not save more on buying a car.

Despite the fact that the owners' reviews told about all the disadvantages of the Tiguan, I still moved to it after the sale of my Skoda. Everything is known in the equation, so my overall impression is “normal”. The car really runs smoother. Tiguan is crammed with many systems that I still do not really understand. A special surprise was presented by the roll-back locking system.
But in this modification you will not load a lot of cargo. Even with the rear seats folded down, there's very little trunk space. In my opinion, the power unit of the Tiguan is rather weak. It does not pull for a car even of this level. I have a six speed gearbox. And when you need to quickly overtake, you have to turn on the fourth speed.
I want to say about the external design of the car. Its peculiarity is that during the rains, the rear door handle is constantly dirty. It's annoying.

I can not say that this car is good. Yes, it has some advantages, but as for me, there are not many of them. Of the positive qualities in the car, only an attractive appearance and bi-xenon headlights, which are most likely buyers. I purchased the first modification with a gasoline engine in 2012. After that, under warranty, it was replaced with a modification with a diesel power unit. All the time I had a gasoline Tiguan, I, tormented, proved to the dealer that oil consumption of 800 grams per 1 thousand kilometers was not the norm. And he mistakenly assumed that this oversight was corrected in the diesel modification. In the second car, after 40 thousand kilometers, the silent blocks of the lower arm, support and outboard bearings, stabilizer struts and other details have already been replaced. Moreover, some of these components had to be changed twice. In the end, I could not stand it, brought the car in order and just sold it for a decent amount.

The Trend&Fun package is purely urban in nature and has very weak off-road qualities. This version is available only in front-wheel drive.

Sport&Style is designed for fans of sporty driving style, and in addition to modified suspension characteristics and a powerful engine, it is equipped with 17-inch wheels.

The off-road version of Truck&Field is equipped with a special “offroad” mode that includes electronic locking center differentials, modified damper settings, hill descent assistant and hill start from a standstill. Permanent four-wheel drive provides the car with excellent traction on any surface, and the electronic control system instantly detects wheel slip and distributes torque, so that the likelihood of the car falling into a skid tends to zero.

The range of engines supplied to the domestic market includes turbo engines with a volume of 1.4 to 2.0 liters and a power of 122 to 210 hp

Depending on the configuration of the car, a manual or 8-speed automatic transmission is installed on it.

The history of the Volkswagen Tiguan

For the first time this car was presented in Frankfurt in 2007. A restyling of this model was in 2011. It should be noted that this all-wheel drive five-seater crossover. At the same time, the basis for the creation of the car was the platform of the legendary car - Volkswagen Golf.

In the process of the latest restyling work, the manufacturers not only “corrected” the appearance of this handsome man, but also worked hard on the safety of the car, and in particular on its technical stuffing.

The appearance of the new Volkswagen Tiguan

The updated version is very similar to its predecessor. However, you can see the reasonable practicality of the updated car (this is especially clearly seen in the Track & Field version). And another step by Volkswagen was the external combination of styles of all produced cars. Those. the Tiguan features features from several other models. But, in general, it looks like an older brother - Touareg.

The car shows style, design and, of course, swiftness and vigor. Volkswagen specialists highlighted fog lights and two-piece headlights with LED daytime running lights. Also, the car has updated thresholds, chrome roof rails and alloy wheels. The whole look of the car with its spaced arches speaks of freedom of movement. When choosing this model, remember that different versions will give the Volkswagen Tiguan individuality. (Track&Field is off-road, while Sport&Style is more sporty).

Interior decoration, interior and technical stuffing

The new version of the crossover received a multifunctional steering wheel, the layout of the buttons on the front console has changed a bit. The engine start button also changed its place and is located to the left of the gearshift knob.

All devices and control buttons are in the direct line of sight of the driver. An excellent view from the driver's seat is complemented by the minimum values of the dead zones located behind the front pillars of the car.

When you sit inside the Volkswagen Tiguan, you immediately feel the quality (like all the "Germans"). Perfectly fitted panels, pleasant to the touch plastics and thoughtfulness make you just fall in love with this car. Pleasant illumination, perfectly readable instruments - will give comfort to any driver. However, there are some minor complaints: the front of the driver's seat is slightly recessed, which is not very convenient for tall people. However, power seats can help solve this shortcoming.

Pleased with a wide range of steering column adjustments, so that the driver, having spent a little time, can get comfortable. For rear passengers, they also provided the possibility of increasing legroom: the seat moves forward / backward by 16 centimeters. As for the luggage compartment, out of almost 500 liters, you can easily make 1500 by simply folding the rear seats. It is also worth noting that the loading height of the machine is optimal, and such operations do not create problems.

In terms of technical fillings, the Volkswagen Tiguan will please its customers with light and rain sensors, dual-zone climate control, an 8-speaker radio, adaptive cruise control and a panoramic roof.

The manufacturer paid no less attention to security systems. Let's start with the "smart" headlights, which will not blind the driver passing in the opposite direction, and will also illuminate the road in the direction of the turn (when the steering wheel is turned, the headlights also turn).

The car is equipped with a driver fatigue monitoring system. In the process of driving, she independently analyzes the behavior behind the wheel and, in the presence of a slowdown in reactions, strongly recommends stopping. Also pleasantly surprised by the assistance system when driving in the lane. This system monitors the road markings and informs the driver about the lane crossing (without the turn signal on, the system recognizes "unauthorized movement" and the car will return to its original lane). It should only be noted that most of these options are not included in the standard package, and accordingly, if necessary, their installation will require additional funds.

Engines, gearboxes and driving behavior

Here is where to roam when choosing. Volkswagen Tiguan is offered with a range of 1.4-liter TSI petrol engines with a capacity of 122 and 150 horsepower. As for the smallest in the lineup, a strat/stop fuel economy system is installed on the car with it. Further, the lineup is represented by 2.0 TSI with a power of 170 and 200 hp. And the line is completed by diesel units with a volume of 2.0 and a capacity of 140 “horses”. Here, of course, everyone must decide for himself.

I would like to note that all engines pull perfectly from the bottom. And already the dynamics and maximum speed to the best of everyone's capabilities. As for gearboxes, the mechanics are placed only on 1.4 TSI. All other engines are equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

And now about driving performance. On the pavement, the car feels great: it is easy to handle, holds the road well and swallows holes. Off-road, you can connect a lot of “assistants”, however, the suspension travel is clearly not enough on some bumps, and you can easily “break through” it. With regard to cross-country ability, it’s better not to climb far in the dirt on a Volkswagen Tiguan, but it will calmly withstand a trip to the country house along a washed-out road. As for the torque distribution system, it turns on only when the front wheels start to slip, transferring part of the effort to the rear axle.

Disadvantages and problems of car operation

Despite the famous pedantry of German designers and engineers, judging by the reviews of the owners, the car still has some minor drawbacks:

There is no illumination of the hole for the ignition key. Quite an unpleasant trifle, which can be attributed to the forgetfulness of the creators of the car.

Poor visibility and small side mirrors. There are no special problems with the left mirror - with small adjustments, there are practically no dead zones left in it, but things are much worse with the right mirror. There is no rounding on the mirror, so you will have to tinker with its settings for a long time.

Hard closing of the passenger doors, due to which the doors have to be slammed in order for the door closing system to work.

The incomprehensible operation of the automatic transmission. Before setting the mark at 100 km / h, the machine does not even try to turn on the increased sixth gear. Switching occurs only when accelerating to 120 km / h, which leads to increased fuel consumption.

The original design of the trunk - the right compartment is not covered with plastic, respectively, the car body and its insides are visible along with the wires.

The small size of the driver's armrest box does not allow to place everything necessary for the driver's needs in it. But the size of the armrest box is offset by the abundance of drawers located under the seats and a large glove box.

The mysterious mode of operation of the headlight washer. The algorithm of work is quite complicated and it takes a lot of time to get used to it.

Poor sound insulation of wheel arches - when driving on a gravel or sandy road, there is a strong knock from gravel and sand in the cabin.

The problem with the driver's floor mats and the gas pedal when operating in winter. Ice begins to form on the mat under the gas pedal, which reduces the travel of the gas pedal. This is due to insufficient insulation of the bottom of the car, which is why frost forms both under the rug and on top.

In principle, all the identified shortcomings are not critical for the operation of the car. You can get used to the operation of the engine and gearbox over time, and the problem of tight closing of the doors can be solved by finalizing or installing other seals.

Advantages of the car

Rich basic equipment - even as standard, the car is equipped with an ABC system, a road stability system and a tire pressure monitoring system.

The presence of a full-fledged multimedia center with a large color active LCD display. Storage of maps of the area for the navigator and multimedia files is possible on a hard disk with a maximum capacity of 30 GB.

A modern navigation system that independently remembers up to five hundred intermediate points when moving along a route for which there are no navigation maps.

Full protection of the underbody and engine of the car, which includes protection of the engine from gravel

Large trunk volume, which can also carry up to 650 kg of cargo. In addition to the trunk, all versions of the car are equipped with roof rails, which allow you to carry up to 100 kg of additional cargo on the roof.

Excellent quality interior trim.

Excellent vehicle handling. Even in the front-wheel drive version, the crossover perfectly obeys the steering wheel and is controlled in one go. At the same time, body roll is minimal in tight corners, which indicates excellent suspension settings and thoughtful design of the car.

Low fuel consumption in vehicles with diesel engines.

Attractive appearance and excellent ergonomics of the car interior.

High clearance allows you to feel confident both in winter and in moderate off-road conditions.

Results, equipment and prices Volkswagen Tiguan 2013

Summing up, I would like to note that the 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan has every chance to compete with its fellow crossovers. This car will suit energetic and modern people who like compact cars, but are no longer satisfied with hatchbacks. The price of this car is in the range of amounts from 800,000 to 1,350,000 rubles.

In general, the car turned out to be very attractive, and even despite the higher price compared to its main competitors, the new Tiguan will find a large number of fans. Despite relatively minor flaws, it is an excellent example of a stylish and modern urban crossover.
