Therefore, it is better not to forget about its existence and change it regularly. Otherwise, the risk of getting to replace an expensive fuel pump or cleaning / flushing injectors increases significantly!

Remove the negative terminal from the battery. We take under the car. We find the fuel filter, clean all threaded connections from dirt with a metal brush, spill them with VD-40 (photo 5, 6, 7).

If the fuel hoses are attached to the filter through threaded fittings, then using keys 17 and 19, loosen the nuts (photo 8). After that, you can unscrew the coupling bolt of the fuel filter clamp (photo 9).

After that, you can finally unscrew the fitting of the fuel hoses. We substitute the container, since gasoline will flow from the hoses and the filter itself. We remove the filter.

If the filter is attached with clips, then the process will go much easier and faster. We unscrew the clamp bolt (photo 10). And, squeezing the plastic clamps on the fittings (if the efforts of the fingers are not enough, then special pliers can be used to compress the clamps), we tighten the hoses from the filter (photo 11). Again, we substitute the container for collecting gasoline. We remove the filter.

Also, there is another type of fastening of the fuel hose fittings to the filter - clamps from spring clips (photo 12). There are usually no problems with them (these are not rusty nuts to twist). Pressed the bracket - pulled the hose. Everything is simple.

Now it remains only to correctly install the fuel filter in the workplace. That's right - it means to install the filter so that the arrow on it will be directed in the direction of fuel flow.

On VAZ-2110, VAZ-2111, VAZ-2112 and VAZ-2710 Priora cars, the arrow on the fuel filter should point to the right side of the car(photo 13).

On VAZ-2113, VAZ-2114, VAZ-2115 and VAZ-21099 cars, the injector arrow on the gasoline filter should point to the left side of the car(photo 14).

Install the fuel filter in the mounting clamp. After that, we connect the fitting of the fuel pipes to it.

When installing a filter with a threaded connection, do not forget to put on new (or old, if they are in good condition) sealing washers on the hoses. Tighten the nuts and clamp bolt.

On the fuel filter with clips, the fittings are put on the filter until a characteristic click is heard. Then you can try to pull the hose off the filter. If it does not work, then the fitting is fixed correctly. We carry out the same installation / verification procedure with the second fitting. Then tighten the clamp bolt.

Then it remains only to put on the negative terminal on the battery, turn the ignition key until the fuel pump activates. Download the system. And start the engine. Then check the connections and the fuel filter itself for gasoline leaks. Particular attention should be paid to threaded connections. Tighten the fuel hose nut slightly if necessary. There are usually no problems with clip-on filters. But, you still need to check.

After verification, work on replacing the fuel (gasoline) filter with VAZ 2113, VAZ-2114, VAZ-2115, VAZ 2110, VAZ-2111, VAZ-2112, VAZ-2710 Priora, VAZ-21099 injector will be completed.

Instructions for replacing with a carburetor

The fuel cleaning element on the VAZ 2109 with a carburetor, according to the regulations, must be changed every 10 thousand kilometers, but, taking into account the low quality of our gasoline, it is desirable to reduce this period to 7 thousand kilometers. The fuel filter is located under the brake master cylinder and secured with two clamps.

We loosen the clamp, which is located on the side of the motor.
Remove the hose from the fuel cleaner. You need to be careful here because some gasoline may spill.
After loosening the clamp, remove the hose, which is located on the side of the tank.
We put a new filter. It is also important here that the arrow coincides with the direction of fuel movement. It should point towards the pump.
We tighten the clamps.
Next, you need to pump gasoline into the fuel cleaning element, because it is still dry. This must be done with a fuel pump. By pressing a couple of times on its lever, you can see how the filter begins to fill with gasoline.
We start the car and check for fuel leaks.

After the old filter is removed, it is necessary to carefully wipe the dust inside the housing, and only then install a new element! Please note that the ribs should be directed in the direction of the car, as clearly shown in the photo above.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order and will not take more than 3 minutes. Remember to replace at least once every 30,000 km, although in conditions where there is a lot of dust (rural areas), this can be done twice as often. The price of these consumables is quite low, so it's not worth saving on it!

Replacement fuel and air filters on a VAZ 2109 car is a very simple operation and takes about 15-20 minutes. Many of the readers may say that such an article is not needed, since everything is clear anyway. However, we have all done something for the first time. And there is nothing shameful when you do not know what to do and for the first time you see it on a computer picture.
Let's start with air filter VAZ 2109. Its replacement is required every 10,000 -15,000 km. Well, if you drive on dusty country roads, then even earlier. The air filter VAZ 2109 is designed to clean the air before preparing a combustible mixture in the carburetor. To get to it, you just need to unscrew the nut on the air filter cover. We snap off four latches on the edges of the cover and remove it. And here is the VAZ 2109 filter itself.

If your air filter is in oil, then this may be due to the following reason: the engine crankcase ventilation outlet is connected to the hole in the air filter housing. That is, unburned gases from the engine crankcase are fed back into for combustion. Thereby reducing emissions into the atmosphere and slightly increasing efficiency of the VAZ 2109 engine. But if oil also gets there with gases, then they proceed as follows: the hole in the air filter housing of the VAZ 2109 is closed with a champagne stopper (it fits perfectly there), and a hose of a suitable diameter is connected to the crankcase outlet.

The other end of this hose just hangs in the air. The length of the hose is usually chosen 30 - 50 centimeters. Thus, the crankcase of the VAZ 2109 will be ventilated and the VAZ 2109 filter will not be in oil.
We take out the old filter. If there are motes under it or along the edges on the lid (most often these are midges, flies, pieces of earth), then they must be carefully removed. Just make sure they don't fall into the carburetor. Having cleaned the seat, we simply put a new VAZ 2109 filter on it.

You can smear its rubber bands on top and bottom with machine oil to prevent air leaks between the cover and the filter. We dress the cover, snap the latches, put in place and tighten the nut. Congratulations, you have changed the VAZ 2109 air filter.

Now let's get busy fuel filter VAZ 2109. The fuel filter is designed to clean the gasoline coming from the gas tank to the carburetor. Gasoline must be filtered due to the presence of small debris in it: gas tank corrosion, low-quality gasoline at gas stations, etc. It changes every 10,000 km, but given the poor quality of local gasoline, it is better to change it every 7,000 km. It is located under the master brake cylinder.

The VAZ 2109 fuel filter is attached to the hoses with two clamps.

4) Pick up a new fuel filter. We find an arrow on it: the arrow indicates the direction of movement of gasoline. We put the filter so that the arrow points to the fuel pump VAZ 2109.

5) We clamp the clamps. Ready. Now you need to pump gasoline into the filter, as it is still dry. This is done with the help of a fuel pump. Pressing its lever several times, we observe how the fuel filter is filled with gasoline.
