The check itself is elementary - you need to pull the probe out of the box, wipe it thoroughly with a rag, and then insert it all the way back into the gearbox. Then the dipstick is pulled out again and the oil level must be exactly between the marks on it - min and max. If the level is low, you need to add oil.


The oil level must be between the MAX and MIN marks on the dipstick.

When replacing, it is necessary to focus on the table below. It contains data on the maximum and minimum temperatures, as well as the viscosity of the gear oil.

How to change the gearbox oil on a Datsun?

First you need to carefully clean the area around the drain hole in the box. After that, you need to put a container for used oil under the gearbox. It is worth remembering that in the manual transmission he-Do and mi-Do about 3-3.5 liters of oil. Therefore, you need a container with a volume of at least 4 liters. If there is protection, it will most likely have to be dismantled.

First, the drain plug is unscrewed.

After draining, you need to wait a couple of minutes, then tighten the drain plug. Next, the probe is removed from the gearbox, and a hose with a funnel attached to its upper part is inserted in its place.

Through it, oil is poured into the box, and its level is checked by a control plug.

The next step is to insert the hose into the filler hole.

After filling the oil in the he-Do checkpoint, its level is checked again by means of a dipstick, after which the latter is inserted into place.

Thus, the oil is poured into the Datsun box.

We have slightly delayed the promised news about the Russian Datsun, but we dare to assure you that it is absolutely not in vain. We have at our disposal some details about the transmission and engine for one of the trim levels of the "state employee" of the revived brand.

Our Datsun specification is based on the Lada Kalina. The Japanese "state employee" will have a wheelbase of 2,476 mm, and its length will exceed the domestic "Grant" by 70 mm, that is, it will be equal to 4,330 mm. The foreign car owes an increase in dimensions to a longer rear overhang - 1060 mm.

It is known that in 2014 AvtoVAZ will start production of two Datsun models. They, as you might guess, will be a sedan (number code 2195) and a hatchback (index 2197). Like any normal car, the Datsun will have several versions, including the "luxury" one. According to the site's own data, the top-end Datsun equipment can get an 8-valve 1.6-liter engine. With almost one hundred percent probability, we can talk about the power of this motor - 87 hp. It will be paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, but more on that below. Since the car belongs to the segment of budget cars (the promised price is within 400,000 rubles), the sedan and hatchback will receive only two frontal airbags in the "maximum speed". ABS will be taken for granted.

If possible, do not work under a jacked up vehicle, but if necessary, install additional supports under the body.
