Fifth generation 4Matic (4WD on-demand)

Introduced in 2013 on CLA 45 AMG and Mercedes-Benz GL 500 cars, it is an on-demand 4WD (that is, not permanent, but plug-in) on a front-wheel drive architecture with a transversely front-mounted engine.
