Inspection at the service did not reveal any crime, so and calmly parted with 500 thousand rubles and drove home.

Daily operation began in traffic jams, summer heat and winter porridge with reagents. The plant always started the first time and every day. Thanks to its weight (empty 1600kg) and a well-tuned suspension, it rides very confidently both on a good track and on ordinary Russian roads with pits and ruts. Reliability is more than worthy, for many boomers and geldings, the suspension for replacement already after 20,000 km goes, which cannot but rejoice me =) After buying, I changed the oil with a filter in the engine, in the box (to calm the soul), candles, cabin filter, antifreeze and 55 thousand km. front pads, for everything I gave about 6.5 thousand parts + work (in my opinion, a good result), I changed the fuel filter for 60,000 km (2000 rubles parts + work) and engine oil. The engine is belt-driven, very reliable and quite quiet, when you stand, you can only understand that it is working by looking at the tachometer needle. Eats 10.5-14 in the city depending on traffic jams, 7.5-11 on the highway (depending on how to drown and how much is loaded in the car). It goes like a tank, when fully loaded, the mass exceeds 2 tons.

The only flaw in ergonomics (probably not mine alone) is sometimes a creaking seal of the 5th door, everything else is comfortable and in its place. Salon huge, more than many current SUVs (100%). Noise isolation is average, but enough for me, I can talk at 130 km / h without raising my voice. There are no problems with the machine (pah-pah), it switches smoothly, without jerks in both winter and summer, acceleration from a standstill for such a colossus is quite cheerful and noticeable.

During all this time, she did not require absolutely no investments (of course, except for MOT) / Although no, there was a case after 1 MOT. About a week after TO1, the car just stalled in the middle of the track for no reason at all. Towed to service. As it turned out, the car had a dead battery and had been running on the same alternator all week (I wonder how it got so far?).

In the service, she was tormented for 3 hours. As a result, they found that some kind of wire was wound on the battery, as they put it, I bought the wrong battery and decided to change the polarity. This is despite the fact that during this week after MOT, none of us even opened the hood. Nevertheless, the service said that I was to blame for everything, the case was not guaranteed. In general, I had to give 7000, incl. and for a new battery. I still can't figure out how it got there...

Slightly acted on the nerves when starting at traffic lights. As the hydraulic system of the brake system, to which the clutch is connected, warms up, it disappears. When viewed in the summer in a pit in the area of ​​\u200b\u200bthe suspension of the left wheel, it was found that there were a dozen or less annular turns on the brake system hydraulic tube, which fits the clutch pedal. I don’t know why the hell this heat exchanger, but I didn’t bother with the officials, I acted on the advice of an experienced friend - they wrapped the coil outside with insulation specially selected for the diameter for water pipes, the ends remained open for air circulation;

5. Problems with the "Sherkhan" alarm, which dealers love to sell so much for good money, and scare at the same time: if you set it yourself, then we will deprive you of the guarantee, but for all the electrics. Another of my stupidity, I was seduced, did not work this moment. On the second day after buying a car and installing the signaling, I brought it on a tow truck, I couldn’t even enter the “jack” mode. The case was not recognized as a warranty, the glitch seems to have passed, there were no explanations left, everything worked, the tow truck was at my expense. True, six months later it happened again, but on the tenth attempt I managed to enter the jack mode and block this bitch. He arrived, stood over his soul, demanded to show what he was doing wrong. The result is the replacement of the signaling brain block under warranty. Then there was a replacement of the owner's call sensor, suddenly he began to call me by vibrating signal very often, he was bored, they probably changed it. Then the warranty ended, the sensor again began to get bored and call, I turned it off, thank God there is such an option. About the possibilities of setting up this signaling and how it is done is a separate song (a separate topic is required on the intuitive presentation of the optional and user-friendliness). I don’t let Sherkhny near my current cars anymore;

6. Frozen exhaust pipe completely. The car has an alarm with auto start, it was around minus 30 with the wind, it turned on at idle every 4 hours for 25 minutes, the mileage during the day is scanty - 15-20 km. At first I could not understand what was wrong with the car, because there were troubles with the alarm (see above). Although familiar specialists diagnosed me by phone, I brought it to the dealer with a fool. I was tritely bred, the car warmed up in the box, while the pioneer locksmiths opened the gas pack from the passenger compartment and tried to clean the gas pipeline “clogged with low-quality fuel”. There was allegedly ice in the gas pipeline, but they didn’t have time to call me (I asked that if you find something) - it melted, blah. I specifically asked about the exhaust, they said that they looked, everything was clean, but the puddle on the floor near the pipe in two glasses was not impressive. So another tow truck was at my expense. The next day, everything happened again, but there was neither the possibility nor the desire to pay again for the tow truck. Dragged on a tie to the familiar specialists and left for a day. The diagnosis with a frozen exhaust was confirmed - more than a bucket of water after removal and warming. It reassured me that the Tuareg was being warmed up in front of me from the same trouble. In the summer, a 3 mm hole was made on the exhaust pipe in front of the expander, it just rises slightly to the top there so as not to stick out from under the bumper. The following winter, I specifically observed at minus 20 condensate drains at idle, characteristic ice puddles appeared under the pipe. cured;

7. Electrical fault, banal in fact, but amusing to detect. In that very cold winter season (winter 2011-2012), the engine was reluctant to start several times. I was treated for all sorts of garbage, including the officials who serviced me (battery, bad gasoline), but everything did not stand up to criticism and checks. I myself noticed that when this happened, the fuel pump is silent after the ignition is turned on. Moreover, I have no complaints about the engine itself, usually, in frosts it starts up with a half-kick, a proven 1.6 injector 16 valve, on the Sides the same, it seems, Mazda was the donor. The reason turned out to be in the connector of the terminal block, which is located under the feet of the front passenger. Either a substandard was installed at the factory, or the electrician Krivoruchko slipped his tool there inaccurately during work, the contact terminal on the fuel pump turned out to be strongly unclenched, burnt out over time and ceased to provide a reliable connection. There were no problems while the engine was running, but I turned it off, stood for several hours or more, there may not be any contact. And this floating defect was discovered, it is worth noting, by an electrician of another KIA dealer office, to which I called as part of a recall program for applying an anti-coating to the gas tank area. The Karens have a feature - the gas tank is reinforced and carries the power load from the multi-red rear suspension. And, lo and behold, their car stalled. They give me the car, but she does not want to leave there. By the way, I was towed to the workshop by the twin brother of my car, exactly the same, of the same year and Karens configuration, left by the dealer for his needs. Carens Carensa is lucky, cool, given that the car is rare. At the same time, I learned a short review about theirs, they said a trouble-free car, they carry pieces of iron on it and dangle around the house. A local electrician showed me a master class on continuity. In 1 hour and 20 minutes, the cause was found, demonstrated that this was it, and eliminated. True, there was no similar block, I had to solder it. After that, I decided to be officially serviced here, although they are 3 times farther from me than the previous dealer. Then he came to replace the front brake pads, they did not replace the rear ones, the same plus for them. In general, this dealer deals only with KIA.

Now for the health of Karens. My generation, the third, has already been discontinued. Grade initial, at that time 623 rubles for 4.5 m of a spacious car. Particularly noteworthy is the presence of free space in the rear seats, because. in this configuration there are no 3 rows of seats, the base of the car is 2.7 m. Even with the front seats fully retracted, you will never touch the backs of the front seats while sitting in the back. The rear seats fold into a flat floor with a trunk, the trunk curtain is also compactly assembled. There is a false bottom for storing a first aid kit and other small things. The dokatka is attached from below, lowers and rises on a cable, is controlled by a balloon key from the trunk floor. I had to change it 2 times in dirty weather, everything is thought out. I even liked this arrangement more, you don’t have to throw out the contents of the trunk to get to the spare tire. The clearance, taking into account the large base, is small, 156 mm passport, but minus the protection of about 10 mm. But in the city and country rolled primers enough. When viewed from the bottom pit, everything is fitted, nothing sticks out, the lowest point is the crankcase protection.

I didn’t have any complaints about the steering column and seat adjustment, I didn’t have lumbar support and an armrest, but there is room for large bags between the driver and passenger. Due to the use of a lever spring-loaded system on the front seats, you can quickly set everything up, you don’t have to twist anything long and tediously. I did not evaluate the anatomical convenience of the seats, there were no long trips. I think a clip-on pillow in the lumbar region would not hurt. In general, I pay attention to the driver’s high bus seat, there are problems with the radiator, this car fits, even drove shot through. Separately, I note the foot handbrake. Pedal on the left side, does not interfere. It is convenient to put, and especially to remove, pulling with one finger on the lever at the bottom left of the panel with minimal effort. We must not forget that this is a mechanical design, not an electronic device.

The car has a soft comfortable suspension, suitable for minivans, but mediocre sound insulation does not allow you to fully experience these delights. The engine copes with a machine with a net weight of 1300 kg, but for 1500 kg of curb weight it would be desirable at least 140 hp. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle (70% city) in the warm season, air conditioning was used to a minimum, amounted to 10.3 l / 100 km. The calculation was carried out by myself on checks, refueling to full, mileage notch, then the next refueling to full, then not complicated arithmetic. The cost of official maintenance is 5 - 7 thousand rubles. And evenly smeared for 10 years. I think that on long runs, maintenance cost jumps cannot be avoided. My opinion is a solid family car for a reasonable price. If I had a version with an automatic, even if it was an old 4-mortar, I would not sell it, I would have kept it for another 3-4 years.

The salon is excellent in every way. The clearance is too small, even 5 cm, so that the bumper does not strike the curbs. A full refueling of 55l along the south highway was enough for 720 km, AI92. I drove 1350 km without rest in 20 hours, fatigue is palpable, but not from the car. Now the mileage is 37,000 km, I'm not going to sell, I don't see a replacement for this car.

For a year and a half, I changed the front stabilizers, 2 ignition coils, a wheel bearing, two front brake hoses. He raised the clearance, substituting wooden linings on the support cups of the body.
