Proezdil for a year, so it was an opportunity to evaluate.

We chose from several options for reasons of price, reliability (recommended by several friends), the ability to drive both on a high-speed highway with active maneuvering and on a small "off-road". Also a nice bonus was the presence of parking sensors with all-round visibility (an extremely useful thing) and a relatively low gas mileage.

Did a test drive on a model with a 2.0 engine. It seemed to be very slow at the start in the first 5 seconds (in Moscow this is a critical driving safety parameter). According to reviews, overtaking after 100 km / h also requires a more powerful engine specifically for Nissan or a different gearbox setting (variator).

The 2.5 liter model has good dynamics, and you can drive it normally even in the "Eco" mode (it adapts to your driving style). This is very important, since the consumption in the city is about one and a half times more than on cars with a 1.6 liter engine. Consumption on the highway is very small, even with active driving at the level of cars 1.6

According to the passport, the car requires gasoline no worse than 92, dealers advise 95, but it is expensive. So I really want to save some money on this. We drove 95 for six months, then switched to a very good 92 (Lukoil). The difference was not noticed at all, so it's possible (but only on a very good 92).

The patency of the car depends entirely on the selection of tires. Since we drive in the Moscow region and Moscow, the tires are high-speed, with a small tread. Do not expect cross-country ability on them, only ground clearance is a plus. So, for real off-road driving, you need special tires with a large tread pattern and sand trucks. Please note that this car, like most other crossovers, does not pass the diagonal hanging test. On the video on the Internet, she passes it only with a small acceleration, by inertia. So it's certainly not a real SUV. But on the highway with active maneuvering goes well. They made additional soundproofing of the wings and bottom (mastic), without this it was noisy.

The base of the car is good. Good brakes, good, comfortable suspension (on the 2.5 liter model it is different and better than on the 2.0), the engine. Model 2.5 has good dynamics in the city (like Moscow) and on the highway.

But all these good features of the base of the car are completely spoiled by managers and design designers. Please note that the car was not made for Russia. It was made for sale all over the world, and, to a large extent, in the USA. Here are the local managers and "order the music." As a result, for example, we got such idiocy as "variator simulating gear changes." In the USA, this was considered important for the perception of the car by local buyers. And we have a car that, at the moment of overtaking at a speed of about 90 (I can’t say for sure), instead of picking up speed at full throttle, suddenly freezes for about 5 seconds to simulate this same gear shifting process. In many cases, during these 5 seconds, you can pray for a lot.

Plus, the car has a thousand unpleasant little things in ergonomics and ease of use (in particular, in winter). It is impossible to list them all. It is very felt that the car was designed by people who perceived it completely abstractly, never used it in their lives. A very small part of it:

Differential locking during slipping occurs only in 4x4 mode, with manual disabling of the ESP (exchange stability control system) and only after 20-30s (!!!) of slipping. It's definitely a crossover, almost a jeep? Who has the nerve to skid and burn the transmission for 30 seconds so that the car remembers the function of differential locks? Unless in the US no one thinks about it. Plus, the car has time to dig to death during this time.

There is not enough 5 cm of the length of the steering wheel extension for a comfortable fit into the car of a tall person (arms and back in tension, get tired).

The steering wheel is ruthlessly hot in summer and mercilessly icy in winter (really will get you).

Always misted side windows, ventilation does not blow them well. Plus, in fact, there is no dual-zone climate control. It costs purely fictitious, it works only barely and only in one of the many, not often used blowing modes.

Cabin air filter - is it there? The Volkswagen Golf was excellent, and the X-Trail is three times more expensive! All the smells inside, plus the nasty damp smell of the air conditioner when you turn it on.

The windshield washers work extremely poorly, worse than on the Volkswagen Golf. Dirt from the glass is washed off with difficulty. But we are talking about a crossover, almost a jeep!

There is no way to manually turn on the headlight wash with the button. It works only automatically, and every time not when necessary.

There is no way to manually set the wiper blades to slow, it is only available in automatic mode, which does not always work as it should.

In winter, it is extremely difficult to clear the ice from the wiper blades and the niche in which they are located. Heated windshield will not help here.

The windshield washer reservoir neck is extremely inconvenient. It was as if they were specially made so that the liquid was spilled on the electric generator and its drive belt. (Dealer special order? ;-)

The front row door pockets are extremely small, it is impossible to put a brush or a 1.5 liter bottle into them, only 1 liter. There are no bins or trays for sundries under the seats, and the front stash is small and unlit (compare to a cheap Volkswagen Golf!).

The trunk is small due to the fact that managers needed a flat floor after folding the seats. The seat folding mechanism in the X-Trail is worse than in the Volkswagen Golf (where the seat cushion leans forward to lower the floor level after folding the back), so to compensate for this, firstly, they raised the level of the trunk as a whole, and secondly, they made additional thick plates that raise the level of the surface of the trunk (one of them was called a shelf). There is absolutely no use from a shelf in the trunk (and we regularly carry a lot of bags and packages).

The trunk curtain is flexible, absolutely inconvenient. It would be possible to make a partially folding rigid. Then it would better insulate the trunk compartment (according to the experience of the Volkswagen Golf) and you could put something from the little things on it, as in most other cars.

The cloth upholstery of the seats is made of a relatively easily soiled material. The central panel (near the variator switch) attracts dust.

There is no way to auto-tune radio stations in the radio, and manual is not convenient. (Well, hello, XXI century!)

But all this becomes clear only after some time of use and only if before that there was an experience of driving a car that was really good in terms of ergonomics (for example, we had a Volkswagen Golf).

And this thousand little things after a while really get it. I will never take a Nissan again. Because if this huge car company brought such garbage to life, it means that it will not be better with its other models.

In 2018, the second restyling of the third generation Nissan X-Trail T32 entered the Russian market. The car entered the Chinese and American markets earlier than we did, perhaps due to legal nuances - the installation of ERA-GLONASS and so on. Visually, the novelty has become more like, well, let's move on to a more detailed review.

Design


Externally, the crossover is not weakly updated. Looking at the muzzle, a new radiator grille with a V-shaped chrome insert is visible. The grille is equipped with active flaps that open when the engine temperature is warm and close otherwise to improve aerodynamics.

Visible corrected optics, it directs a beam of light depending on the rotation of the wheels. In the basic configurations, the filling is halogen, in the top - LED. A glossy insert extends from the headlights below to the bumper. The bumper itself has become more aggressive due to the increase in sharp transitions, its detailing is really cool. At the bottom on the black insert are rectangular fog lights, and at the very bottom on the plastic protection is a chrome insert in the center.


On the side, everything is about the same. Forms are mostly smooth, but not without sharpness. The swollen wheel arches received a massive bevel and thin black plastic protection. At the bottom, the thresholds are complemented by a chrome line. Chrome is inserted on the door handles, roof rails and window frame trim. Sharp lines are present in the back, but they are minimal.

The stern of the crossover received modified lights with LED filling. The upper part of the trunk lid is complemented by an anti-wing for aerodynamics. The lid itself has slight curves, the central part is decorated with a chrome line, and at the very bottom there is a handle for opening the fifth door. The less massive bumper is well detailed, especially the plastic protection with a chrome line and integrated reflectors.

All owners note pleasant skin and high-quality assembly inside the car. Well, there will be no leather in the base, and the fabric is not so pleasant. The architecture of the cabin has not changed much, only some little things.

The front seats are heated, look a little sporty due to the small lateral support. The rear sofa is just as comfortable with a folding armrest. There is also a third row of seats for two passengers. Cup holders are inserted there, but it’s not worth talking about free space at all - its minimum is at the back in alignment with the rest of the rows.

The pilot of the Nissan X-Trail 2018-2019 gets a 3-spoke D-shaped steering wheel with chrome lines and buttons. The steering wheel is adjustable for reach and height. The instrument panel is equipped with two recessed wells, in which the speedometer and tachometer are integrated. In the center is a 5-inch on-board computer information display with 12 information modes.


The center console is made of glossy plastic. In the center there is a 7-inch touchscreen multimedia display with Yandex Auto, which supports all the functions available to a regular smartphone, that is, at least you will have a navigator. Buttons and washers are inserted all around for quick adjustment of the most important functions. Below is a climate control setting box with 9 buttons, two washers and one monitor to display the selected settings.


The tunnel first received an electronic parking brake button - not the most convenient location, usually it is placed after the gearshift lever. Here, cup holders are inserted behind the lever below and at the end of all this we see the washer for setting the all-wheel drive and heated seats.

A panoramic sunroof is optional.


Access to the trunk is carried out by an electric drive, and the floor of the compartment is lined with pile. Trunk volume is 565 liters, but this is with the third row of the Nissan X-Trail T32 folded down. Folding all the rear seats will get 1996 liters of volume.

The engine range has not changed in any way; two petrol and one diesel internal combustion engines are also offered.

  1. First 4-cylinder engine MR20DD 2 liters produces 144 horsepower and 200 H * m of torque. Consumption is above 11 liters in the city, on the highway - 6.6 liters. Everything is bad with the dynamics - 11 seconds to hundreds and 183 km / h of maximum speed.
  2. Second engine QR25DE due to the 2.5-liter volume, it produces 171 horsepower and 233 units of torque. Fuel consumption does not change, and the dynamics improves by half a second with an increase in maximum speed to 190 km / h.
  3. diesel turbo engine Y9M with a 1.6-liter displacement, it delivers 130 horsepower to the wheels at 4000 rpm and 320 H * m of torque from idle. Diesel is the most economical - 6 liters in the city and 4.8 liters on the highway. The dynamics never change.

The pair is a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT variator. The moment is transmitted in the younger version to the front wheels, and the older ones receive the ALL Mode 4x4i all-wheel drive system, which transmits power to the rear wheels through an automatic clutch when slipping.

Running crossover

The restyled car is built on a modernized Common Modular Family platform with front wheels and semi-independent rear suspension. The driving experience is the same.


Electric booster Nissan X-Trail 2018-2019 changes its gear ratios depending on the driving style. The steering wheel has become heavier, in fact, this is a setting for Russian drivers, they love this, because I think that the car grabbed the road.

Disc brakes in a circle with ABS and ventilation in the front. The suspension is not designed for off-road, although it has some systems. Still, this is a city car, but it can drive on light off-road.

Not really about the suspension, but you need to tell. The car is equipped with a package of Intelligent Mobility security systems: a parking assistance system that analyzes the situation around through cameras; cameras analyze the situation when driving in reverse, and also control the distance in front, independently applying the brakes if necessary.

The former version of the truly popular Nissan X-Trail looked like an SUV, but in fact it was a crossover. The new generation, T32, has the same body shape and continues to mislead: although the car has been updated, it is built on the same units, albeit updated ones.

In the Russian Federation, the previous version was loved by many car owners and was in great demand. Its comfortable suspension and huge trunk make it a great option for long-distance travel. But even in this barrel of honey there is a fly in the ointment: its off-road capabilities were very limited, and handling on asphalt was far from ideal. The main features that the new Nissan X-Trail has are frowning headlights, a sloping “forehead” and sunken sides. the world around, the view from there is incredibly wide. There is enough space to sit down, enough space to put your feet. If there is a need to adjust the blower, then you need to try hard to reach out. The central section with options has become quite comfortable armrest with many cells. The new version of Nissan can accommodate up to 7 people at a time. However, it should be noted that there will be no official sales of 7-seater versions of this car in Russia: demand is very low.

Trunk

The trunk of the updated Nissan X-Trail has become a little larger: it used to be 479 liters, but it became 497. However, the previous generation Nissan X-Trail had two drawers, it was possible to fold the rear seats. Of course, if you fold the backs, the trunk of the previous version is out of competition. The new version has reduced the underground, but it has become possible to insert it into special holes. In this way, you can organize special shelves: horizontal and vertical. The latter, in turn, divides the luggage compartment in half. This is a rather convenient feature, as it helps to neatly distribute things into compartments. Handling and dynamics

It was possible to test on the lands of an amazing region, the Republic of Karelia. It is impossible to describe its roads: gambling turns, sharp descents and ascents. Cracked asphalt, hard-packed snow and ice packs give us the opportunity to test the car's handling, suspension and drivetrain. The new Nissan X-Trail is not just an updated crossover, it is, as many auto critics say, an off-road Qashqai. It is more spacious and safer.

On a snowy road, the X-Trail runs best in economy mode. In it, the gas pedal is damped, which makes the reaction to pressing more careful, smooth. The car is also equipped with an Eco mode, but it is not so easy to find it: it is hidden near the headlight washer and the stabilization activation button.

Nissan engineers said they were trying to combine Chinese softness and European handling in the Russian version of this crossover. On paved surfaces, driving a crossover is more pleasant than on its predecessor. However, for bumpy terrain and country roads, the Nissan X-Trail suspension is a bit inappropriate - it's harsh. On the road with large pits, the suspension is very loud on rebound, on small stones it vibrates.

If we take a test car, then literally a few hours later, from the strongest shaking, the ceiling began to “walk”, it was not possible to fix this annoying problem manually. This can be explained by the fact that the production of X-Trail at a plant in the northern capital of our country began quite recently. In another test machine, such problems were not observed. The car goes much better on studded tires, on which the rumble from the road is not heard so clearly. The manufacturer plans to additionally build seals between the threshold and the edge of the door, so that the latter does not get dirty, increase the rear view.

Transmission of the new X-Trail

The new version of this car is built on the platform of its older brother, but received new power units and an upgraded transmission. Also, the new Nissan X-Trail received a 210 mm ground clearance (clearance). However, such changes led to some deplorable acquisitions: due to the increased wheelbase and the direct front overhang, the geometry of the car deteriorated significantly.

On the track, this crossover holds up well, but sometimes the bumper catches large bumps.

The advantage of the Nissan X-Trail over Qashqai lies in the so-called "descent assistance assistant".

It is he who makes it possible to pass icy slopes and snow mounds safely and without changing the trajectory. The manufacturer recommends passing large and dangerous obstacles in the “Lock” mode. Its function is to lock the differential between the wheels: in this way, half of the thrust is transferred to the rear axle.

It is difficult to pass obstacles without the included modes, this is prevented by a fairly stiff suspension. As soon as the car catches diagonal hanging, it starts to slow down, and if you put pressure on the gas, it starts to couple the drive and driven discs. The rear camera is equipped with washers that automatically rid it of dirt, the "all-round view" function provides the most accurate maneuvering.

If we compare the Nissan X-Trail with its closest competitor, namely the Qashqai, then there is a faster response to the response of the accelerator and CVT buttons. Acceleration is not as stretched, although the car is a little heavier, up to 100 km / h accelerates 1.5 seconds faster. You also need to say about the necessary effort on the steering wheel - it has become more verified. The new version of the Nissan X-Trail with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine has become much more powerful - 171 horsepower versus 144.

The operation of the CVT transmission became more stable and faster, the car began to respond faster to pressing the gas pedal. The updated suspension has become softer, the configuration of the car has also become denser. In general, the new X-Trail has become solid. The difference between the chassis of the new and the old Nissan is small, as is the engine consumption: now 11 liters of 92nd gasoline will be enough for a 2.5-liter engine for 100 km / h. Refueling with such fuel became possible only due to the engine with distributed injection.

In the previous version of the X-Trail, the diesel version was equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the gasoline versions with a CVT. The new version of the crossover with a diesel engine now only comes with a six-speed manual. Models with a variator equipped with a reinforced plate are also produced, but they do not plan to officially sell such versions in Russia.

The volume of the updated diesel engine by the standards of the crossover is very modest, 1.6 liters with a capacity of 150 horsepower. The maximum torque has not changed: it remained the same as it was 320 Newton meters. It should be noted that the new X-Trail has become a little faster and more ergonomic, has been reduced, and the view from the windshield has increased.

The engineers managed to complete the Nissan and recreate the new version of the X-Trail almost from scratch. The updated car began to look more modern, became more comfortable. However, it should be noted that he lost his individuality. In defense, we can only say that it fully meets all the requirements of urban residents for crossovers. First of all, X-Trail will be loved by those for whom constant forays into the country or nature are the norm.

This article provides fairly detailed information about the latest generation Nissan X-Trail car assembled in Russia in the T32 body - information about the engine and transmission, trim levels. Produced generations

The famous Japanese crossover Nissan X-Trail has gained considerable popularity in Russia, it is characterized by high reliability, excellent technical characteristics, and exquisite design.

During the release of the brand, three generations have changed, the very first cars were first produced at home, in Japan.

The history of Xtrail begins in September 2000, when the car was shown at the Paris Motor Show.

The 1st generation Nissan X Trail in the T30 body is based on the Nissan FF-S platform, from the very beginning of production, the model has been produced in 4x4 versions and with front-wheel drive.

The second generation Ixtrail T31 was first introduced in Geneva in 2007, and this car was based on the Nissan C platform.

The third version of the crossover appeared in the autumn of 2013, and in December of the same year, the car began to be sold in Japan.

The new car in the T32 body was created on the basis of the Nissan CMF, the assembly of this model is carried out in many countries of the world, including the Russian Federation.

The “Japanese” is produced at the Nissan plant built in St. Petersburg, the first Ixtrail in Russia rolled off the assembly line in November 2009, and the factory workers began production of the 3rd generation in December 2014.

A car in the back of a T32 for Russians is offered:

  • in versions with full and front wheel drive;
  • with two petrol and one diesel engine;

Nissan Qashqai and Ixtrail in the latest versions are often compared to each other, since the models are in many ways similar, from a distance they can even be confused.

But in previous generations, cars were completely different in design, and they had few common parts.

The new Nissan X Trail 3 is larger than the Qashqai, longer, taller and wider, and has a 76mm longer wheelbase.

But the crossover is not only good for its large size, it is also presented in a fairly rich equipment, and on its “board”, even in the base, there are many different options.

Engines and transmission

In the line of crossover power units there are two gasoline internal combustion engines:

  • QR25DE, 2.5 l, 171 l. With.;
  • MR20DD, 2.0 l 144 l. With.

Both engines are 4-cylinder, 16-valve, injection. When driving around the city, there is no big difference in the volume of internal combustion engines, cars with both engines start equally vigorously, the dynamics are good and even.

By the way, the diesel engine is only paired with a manual transmission with all-wheel drive, the 2.5-liter QR25DE engine is equipped with a CVT, also with a 4x4 transmission.

The MR20DD engine is available in all variants: manual and CVT, 2WD and 4WD.

The Nissan X Trail CVT has received seven virtual gears, and the driver now has the ability to manually brake the engine.

X-Tronic works on the principle of a classic torque converter automatic transmission - when accelerating and shifting to another, higher gear, it somewhat slows down.

Trunk and interior

Compared to the previous generation T31, the Nissan X Trail T32 has increased in size, respectively, and the trunk has grown in size, its volume in the new model is 497 liters.

The second row seats move back and forth, and the backrests tilt, and due to this, the luggage area can increase slightly.

An electric drive for opening the lock (“hands-free” system) is installed on the rear door, there are two shelves in the luggage compartment, which allow the load to be placed here in two tiers.

The Hands-Free system works in this way: if the owner of the car has a car key in his pocket, it is enough to bring his hand to the trunk lock, and the electric drive will work, the door will open automatically.

On the back sofa, passengers should not feel cramped: there are so many places in the back that even a person under two meters tall will have a small space above their heads, and their knees do not rest on the front seat.

There is no tunnel in the middle of the rear floor, and all three rear passengers are equally comfortable.

The interior trim of the car does not cause any complaints: the assembly is of high quality, the materials used are solid. Doors open at an angle of 77 degrees, which provides convenient boarding and disembarking of passengers.

Ixtrail T32 of the Russian assembly has very good off-road qualities even in the 4x2 version, good cross-country ability is ensured thanks to a ground clearance of 210 mm.

The car is equipped with a classic crossover suspension: MacPherson strut in front, and a multi-link design on the rear axle.

The car is equipped with all disc brakes, there is an anti-lock braking system ABS and an EBD brake distributor.

Depending on the configuration, 17th and 18th rims are installed on the T32; the steering control provides for the possibility of changing the effort on the steering wheel.
