The first generation of the Renault Scenic compact minivan debuted in 1996. The novelty used the platform of the Megane I model and became the first car of this class in Europe. The release of Scenic II took place after the presentation of the Megane II model. The minivan took as a basis not only the platform of the latter, but also its best technical and design solutions. Petrol engines with the same volume, but already with 98, 115 and 136-165 hp, were now responsible for the operation of the car. on board (for displacement 1.4, 1.6 and two versions 2.0 respectively). At the same time, the range of turbodiesels has expanded significantly: 1.5, 1.9, 2.0 liters, producing 80-150 horses. The restyling of the second Scenic took place in 2006, it brought the model a new 6-band AT and a seven-seater modification. Russian drivers had a choice only among petrol trim levels.
Serial production of generation 3 lasted from 2009 to 2015 and included two intermediate updates in 2011 and 2013. The base of the car is Megane III. The domestic market offered only 2 petrol versions: with 1.6 and 2.0 liter engines (110 and 138 hp). And if the first one received a manual transmission, then Renault installed a CVT on the second one. Generation IV, which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016, never made it to Russia.
