Moreover, there are 4 holes for mounting the wheel on the wheel hubs of the West Cross exhibition sedan ... In general, the concept of an off-road station wagon remained a concept without factory suspension, wheels and brakes. It was this option that was brought last year to the SUV exhibition in Moscow. Lada Vesta Cross did not even have an exhaust pipe.
But if we wait until the moment when the model nevertheless gets on the conveyor assembly, an unconditionally stylish car is waiting for us. Large wheels, a protective plastic body kit, roof rails, an impressive spoiler. I would like to believe that the roof on production models will also be painted with glossy black paint, creating the effect of a glass panoramic roof. The current generation of Vesta is well bought on the Russian market, and after restyling it has every chance of becoming a real bestseller.
The design of the new Lada Vesta SV station wagon was developed by a team of specialists led by Steve Mattin. Every detail of the body is in harmony with each other, reminiscent of individual strokes of the “shark” theme. These features include an antenna fin located on the roof, as well as a plastic trim on the C-pillar, which becomes like a shark fin due to a visual break with the roof. The narrowed pillars are made in some places in a black palette, which makes them invisible against the background of tinted windows. The roof also features a new shape, as it now has a significant slope towards the stern, which makes the car look like a representative of the sport class.
The dimensions of the Lada Vesta SV Cross fit exactly into the established framework of the platform sedan. Luggage capacity, judging by the overall dimensions, is not much more compared to the four-door model. It has a lot of boxes for storing hand luggage, as well as additional mounts. The volume is 480 liters when measured to the height of the curtain. Hidden in the floor under a lid is a compartment with two removable trays that adds another 95 hp. If you fold the back of the sofa, you can achieve maximum space with a usable volume of 825 liters.
Only the height of the body has become larger. In the version of Lada Vesta SV, the parameters are plus thanks to the roof rails. She has them in black, Cross has a metallic shade. Also, the SUV added 2.5 cm thanks to the clearance, which is now 20.3 cm instead of 17.8 in the old variation.
In Lada Vesta SV Cross, overall dimensions are not the only changes in the external design. The vehicle of domestic production is equipped with:

The developers tried to fix all the shortcomings of the Vesta sedan, in particular, the new cars will become the owners of an external trunk release button and a lockable gas tank hatch.
Also included in the number of updates is the color scheme. Now there is a new orange color, which has the name Mars and is distinguished by its saturation. The black body kit emphasizes it favorably. Also added a platinum color called Carthage.

Improvement overtook the front panel. Now it has smoother forms and richer equipment. The instrument panel has improved LED lighting. The location of the controls of the multimedia system with navigation and a seven-inch color display, as well as the climate control device, has not changed.

Lada Vesta SV Cross is not only another novelty of the Togliatti automobile plant, which appeared two years after the start of sales of the Vesta family, but also an attempt to gain a foothold in a market segment previously unknown to the domestic auto giant. If sedans appeared on the streets of Russian cities in the fall of 2015, then domestic buyers had to wait for another version of the Vesta model for 2 whole years. What's new got the car?
Lada Vesta SV Cross is not only a natural continuation of the development of the Vesta family, but also an attempt to correct minor flaws and childhood illnesses of the parent sedan. Many of the innovations that appeared on the all-terrain wagon will subsequently migrate to the regular Vesta. So, for the first time, it was on the SV and SV Cross models that appeared:
- a gas tank hatch that opens with a push, rather than an old-fashioned lug, as on a sedan;
- trunk release button located under the license plate bar;
- separate windshield heating button;
- new sound design for turn signals and alarms.
The air temperature sensor overboard was also moved - due to the fact that it was located in a closed area on the sedan, it previously gave incorrect readings. All these small innovations, which first appeared on station wagons, will later be implemented on sedans of the family.
However, the main innovations of SV Cross, of course, are associated with a different type of body and a modification designed to slightly increase the off-road performance of the model. Vesta SV Cross is equipped with new rear suspension springs and other shock absorbers, which not only increased the ground clearance to an impressive 20.3 cm, but also helped maintain decent handling, coupled with suspension reliability. Now the rear suspension of the Cross practically does not break through even on very impressive potholes. The technical innovations are complemented by disc rear brakes, which first appeared on domestic cars. Also, only 17-inch wheels are installed on the Cross, which not only improved the cross-country ability, but also gave the car external solidity.
Naturally, all this did not make SV Cross an SUV - the lack of all-wheel drive hints that the car's natural habitat is asphalt roads. However, the exit from the track will not lead to disaster now - light off-road is completely overcome thanks to low-profile tires on R17 rims and high ground clearance.
You can distinguish the SV Cross variation from the usual station wagon by two-tone bumpers and black plastic lining on the sidewalls and wheel arches, hinting at some off-road capabilities of the car. Cross is also distinguished by the presence of decorative twin exhaust pipes, roof rails and spoilers, which gives SV Cross a swift sporty look.
