Paired with a diesel engine - only a six-speed "automatic", and the drive can be front or full. The chassis, like the one, is equipped with the G-Vectoring Control system, and the rebound damping of the front shock absorbers has been recalibrated in favor of greater cornering stability.
The simplest front-wheel drive Mazda CX-8 is equipped with i-Activsense electronic assistants and is estimated in Japan at $29,000. The surcharge for all-wheel drive in each of the three proposed configurations is a little more than two thousand dollars. And the richest crossover with all-wheel drive, a Bose audio system and a two-tone interior trimmed with nappa leather and natural wood will cost $37,700. For comparison: the top Mazda CX-9 SUV costs $44,300 in the States. In addition, Japanese laws also provide for a government subsidy of up to $600 for the "purity" of the diesel engine for the CX-8.
