Toyota oil clearly has a cheaper plastic canister ("wrinkled", a slightly different color), fuzzy stamping of displacement and measuring strip.

Here are photos from one of the forums. But keep in mind that Toyota has a wide list of oils, and, for example, the cork on the original 0w30 is almost indistinguishable from a fake one and does not have the seal shown in the picture.

It is clearly seen that the color of the canister is different. The photo does not convey all the shades, but in life it will be striking.
Some of the oil from Toyota was even with erroneous labels. Perhaps they were not scanned like Mazda's, but painted in Photoshop or something similar. The manufacturer's country was written from the lantern.

GM engine oil, how to distinguish from a fake

The oil is very popular with Chevrolet car owners. Pay attention to the canister. It is the container that fails most often, as in the cases above. Flash and under-twisted cork. On the original canister, the first label peels off from the second from right to left, and reaching the edge, it does not come off further, the left edge is glued very tightly, like a book cover. On a fake (it is on the right), the label peels off arbitrarily, and is not held by anything.
