Which is better to buy: Mitsubishi Pajero or Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Comparison of cars SUV Mitsubishi Pajero Sport II and SUV Mitsubishi Pajero IV restyling Technical features of models

Pajero 4 has been on the assembly line since 2006, someone considers it a deep restyling of the 3rd generation, someone else is a fundamentally new model. But the fact is that the main difference in the 4th generation is in the front and rear of the car. Otherwise, it seems that the body has remained the same. The car is galvanized from the factory and cannot have obvious problems with corrosion, with the exception of cars restored after an accident. Although the quality of the paintwork of the Pajero 4 is far from ideal. On the body, some owners are faced with such a problem - door seals wipe the paint to the ground. It is treated by sizing such places with armored film. The reason for this is most likely the lack of rigidity of the body.

As for the engines, let's start with the older gasoline 3.8 (6G75), it is significantly more powerful than the 3.0-liter gasoline (6G72), while not much different from the 3 liter, but inferior to the latter in terms of reliability. Of the critical cases, there were cases when the liners cranked at low runs. Another headache for the owners can be called the damper on the intake manifold, which, due to its weak design, can crumble, respectively, all this is drawn into the cylinders and we get sad consequences for the motor. The 3-liter gasoline engine is quite old, originally from the 80s, and there should not be any serious problems with proper maintenance. The only thing many complain about is the lack of power when driving on the highway, compared to the 3.8 engine. A 3.2-liter diesel engine (4M41) will be an excellent option in terms of dynamics and fuel consumption, but with the quality of our diesel fuel, there is a big risk of getting on high-pressure fuel pumps and nozzles, and the price tags for them most likely will not please the owner.

The transmission is quite reliable. The machine is adaptive, but nevertheless upsets many with its sluggishness. Of the unpleasant moments, the backlash of the cardan in the rear gearbox that appears on small runs and, as a result, a knock, as well as a howl of the rear gearbox. Alas, these are already design features - you can ride like this for a long time.

On the undercarriage, the weak point of the front stabilizer bushing. You can also highlight one unpleasant thing - the breakup bolts turn sour, so when passing the wheel alignment, you must lubricate them, otherwise it will be a problem to unscrew them the next time you drive to the wheel alignment. Otherwise, up to 100,000 mileage, there should not be any special problems with the chassis, with the exception of beating in the front brake discs and rattling pads in the rear drums, the first is treated by turning or replacing the discs, the second by installing stiffer springs, for example, from the 3rd generation Pajero.

Salon in my opinion looks old-fashioned by modern standards. And the owners have complaints about the quality of materials. Crickets appear here, this is a fact, and the skin is not famous for its durability and quickly wears off. Noise isolation is frankly weak.

As a result, we can draw a line and say that the Pajero is an interesting car in its class, but not without flaws. Despite the fact that since the 3rd generation the model has lost its classic frame structure and switched to a frame integrated into the body, the Pajero 4 can still be considered a full-fledged SUV and can safely drive it to where an ordinary crossover with an electronic clutch will fit well and for a long time. At the same time, neither the loss of the frame, nor the deep restyling, which has grown into a new generation, could not significantly increase the level of comfort.

When the mounting axis is destroyed, the intake manifold flaps fly inside the motor - the consequences are sad

Integrated frame - the body cannot simply be separated, nor can a body lift be made on the frame

Comparing the Nissan Pathfinder 2015 and Pajero 4 is easy, but at the same time not easy. To compare SUVs from different manufacturers, you need to consider a number of significant characteristics, including maintenance and repair costs.

Any components, parts, assemblies of the car are subject to wear. Experts teach that in order not to bring the car to a major overhaul, it is necessary to regularly check the condition of the components most prone to breakdowns. Mitsubishi Pajero IV and Pathfinder have safety limits. Repairs, large or small, are inevitable over time.

Mitsubishi Pajero 4 (Mitsubishi Pajero IV)

Expert studies show that Mitsubishi Pajero 4 are the most repairable.

  1. On diesel fuel - it is necessary to periodically change the nozzles, there is a danger of an open circuit.
  2. The Mitsubishi Pajero IV gasoline engine suffers from damper failures. You need to change at an early stage, so as not to bring to a major overhaul.
  3. Suspension - monitor the condition of the adjusting bolts of the wheel angles (camber). Requires lubrication after a year or two.
  4. The electrical part of the Mitsubishi Pajero 4 - the generator fails due to brush wear.
  5. Transmission - no complaints.

Nissan Pathfinder 2015

Concerning .

  1. There is a dangerous situation when, due to the wear of the fuel pump, traction is lost during overtaking or passing. At the first sign, it can be fixed at little cost using the repair manual. The best option is computer diagnostics.
  2. Diesel equipment fails for a certain reason - ignoring the rules of operation.
  3. The fuel gauge is alarming.
  4. The fifth door is subject to corrosion.

A review of SUVs shows that there are no eternal cars in nature. Whatever brand the car is, it should be remembered that this is a technically complex device that needs to be adequately treated and handled.

Weaknesses of SUVs

Both foreign-made SUVs have weaknesses that are known from operation:

  • particulate filter;
  • clutch;
  • transfer case;
  • fuel sensor;
  • steering rack.

All marked parts and assemblies have certain disadvantages, which continue to work on automotive designers .
To disadvantages Nissan Pathfinder relate:

  • noise isolation;
  • lack of seat comfort (2nd and 3rd row);
  • weak warming up of the car in the cold season;
  • frequent failures in the electronic system;
  • miscalculations in the exterior, ergonomics.

Mitsubishi Pajero IV new

Regarding the car that has become a legendary brand that has survived several updates, users note the following:

  • increased noise level when driving on rough road surfaces;
  • inconvenience with the footrest when boarding passengers in the car;
  • when you press the accelerator in R mode, there is no smooth acceleration;
  • not enough luggage compartment;
  • when evaluating the Mitsubishi Pajero IV engine in terms of maintenance costs, there is an imbalance between diesel and gasoline fuels.

However, the positive aspects of both SUVs cannot be ignored:

  • the transmission works satisfactorily, the modes are switched without complications;
  • cars are easy to control, leave the driver with a pleasant feeling;
  • gearbox and razdatka in low gear without complaints, the work of the wipers is positively noted.
  • Ergonomics does not cause any particular complaints about the quality of the finish and the materials used.

The final verdict of experts

Mitsubishi Pajero IV trunk options

SUVs Mitsubishi Pajero IV and Nissan Pathfinder are popular, as evidenced by sales results. Tracing many calls, analyzing driving histories, one can make such a generalization regarding Mitsubishi Pajero 4:

  • outwardly looks restrained - strictly;
  • spacious inside;
  • there is power;
  • easy to manage.

Some claims:

  • the interior of Mitsubishi Pajero IV is executed in eclectic style;
  • the interior transformation scheme is complicated;
  • expensive option, costly to maintain.

About car Nissan Pathfinder:

  • design with bright signs of brutality;
  • salon for seven seats, spacious;
  • on the road, a balanced response to control.

Minor cons include:

  • car price;
  • acoustics of a low level;
  • the audio system is difficult to control.

Regarding the seats for the driver and passengers: somewhere the armrest is more comfortable, and in the other, the chair itself is softer, more comfortable. In terms of luggage space, SUVs differ significantly. The visibility of both jeeps always corresponds to the norm, because this is fraught with dangerous consequences. Each brand has its own unique appearance, which ensures its recognition. Experienced drivers may feel some differences in handling, car dynamics, noise isolation.

To make a worthy analysis of the operation of machines, it takes time, during which various characteristic breakdowns can appear. Nissan Pathfinder has been in operation for a relatively long time, Mitsubishi Pajero IV is somewhat shorter. Both SUVs perfectly cope with their duties on city roads, they also overcome rural impassability in their own worthy way.

A certain amount of money from the family budget is spent on car maintenance. When purchasing a used car, you need to be clear that its maintenance will require more finance than the maintenance of a new one. Replacing worn out parts costs a lot of money.

Scheduled maintenance is also not free, repair work (payment for services), insurance payments and fuel costs - everything together adds up to a certain amount.

I’ll skip the pain of choosing a car, I’ll go straight to the start of operation

Bought … Options Instyle, black. Of dopov — alarm and rear parking sensors. As a result, it turned out that the parking sensors are absolutely not required - the rear-view camera is enough for the eyes day and night. Instyle chose because of the presence of a rear diff lock, which distinguishes the Pajero from the mass of similar cars.

First impressions: the feeling of a big, serious car, although the handling and the feeling of dimensions did not suffer at all. A lot has been written on the topic of Pajero's shortcomings and, as I was convinced, almost all of this is really present, in order of importance:

Strengths:

  • Reliability
  • patency
  • Cabin and trunk volume

Weak sides:

  • Harsh
  • Low noise isolation
  • Decent fuel consumption

Review Mitsubishi Pajero 3.0i (Mitsubishi Pajero) 2012 Part 2

Hello! The robot asked me to continue - I will continue.

Almost a year has passed since the review. The tank did not let down, drove mainly his wife. Maintenance costs only. Annual MOT is on the horizon, since the car is almost worth it, there is nothing special to write about. My wife's complaints were in terms of size, right now I seem to be used to it. Right now I'm driving the L200 — compared to the Pyzh — not a fountain, Pyzh is much better in everything.

Advantages: a tank - to carry everywhere, regardless of the availability of roads, a basketball salon, in bad weather, the security systems clearly work.

Review Mitsubishi Pajero 3.0 4WD (178 hp / 3.0 l / 5automatic transmission) (Mitsubishi Pajero) 2012 Part 2

I forgot ... It may still be useful to someone. I was very tormented by the question - how is a 3-liter Pajero compared to a 3-liter Prado 150 (which diesel) in terms of comparing diesel with gasoline and in general ... So ... I went for a Toyota test drive after 1.5 years of owning Pajero. I drove it through the fields and on the asphalt. In the fields, Pajero and I are completely satisfied in terms of cross-country ability, but here's how the diesel behaves on the highway - traction there on the bottoms and all that - which is constantly written about - such as a 3-liter vegetable, etc.

Sat down - landing is lower. The quality of the finish is subjectively on the same level. Once I sat here in the Pathfinder - there, as in an old field. But that's not the point... Let's go... The manager says to me - let's go straight to the field. Well, in the field, so in the field. Permeability at a decent level — nothing to say. Of course, we didn’t go through the swamps, but it was autumn and I know what I’m talking about.

We left on the asphalt — the stiffness was lowered, but not to say that it was directly striking. Another thing is interesting - maybe at a speed of up to 30-40 km per hour the acceleration is more intense, but after 40 I would not say ... But after 100 Prado does not go ... And there is no legendary diesel traction. And the manager again beckons in the field.

Strengths:

  • Honesty

Weak sides:

  • Bumpers are not metal

Review Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2 DI-D (Mitsubishi Pajero) 2008

Before Pajero were Lancer, Volkswagen Polo, Nissan x-trail. I chose a car for a long time, because in the presence of 3 children of different ages, dogs of different sizes (from a Rottweiler to small dogs), regular 6-8 hours driving around the city during peak hours in the morning and evening and the need to drive home every day along the highway outside the city and further along roads rarely cleared of snow in winter. I chose a car by Traid-in between Nissan Patrol (in the old body), Pajero and Discovery.

The husband voted for Volvo, because. I drive a Volvo xc90 myself. To begin with, I decided to go for a test drive Pajero, and then watch the rest. First impression: you sit very high, the hood is completely visible, the side mirrors are huge - the feeling of an aquarium, where you can see any point in the mirror, it accelerates easily, given its weight, the brakes are responsive - it stopped “on point” on ice much faster than the x-trail or Volvo, the road keeps excellent in the turn (the test drive was in February, the icing was decent). In short, the first impression was almost on the verge of delight, especially, the differences became noticeable when after him I got into a Volvo, temporarily borrowed by my husband, where the mirrors are small and for my 167 cm height, even with the seat fully raised, nothing is visible except for the “torpedo”, what a hood.

I stopped at a 2008 Pajero IV, diesel, the mileage was a little more than 30 thousand at the time of purchase, the owner was elderly, neat, he only drove work-home, he packed the car with a ceiling TV with 2 sets of headphones, + a good standard audio system (CD, Mp3 , DVD and navigator in one bottle) and rear parking sensors, we added front ones (although in fact they are unnecessarily, as I said, the hood is perfectly visible), a couple more headphones, the husband added a couple of “wires” - legal iPhone-iPad with audio auto system (convenient for long trips to watch maps or movies), put a radar and a DVR — that's all we have invested in the car for the moment 98,000 mileage. No repairs, replacements, etc., they didn’t even change the brake pads, although they write that they wear out quickly at Pudge, the only thing is that the brakes creaked for 60 thousand, went to the service, they tightened the timing belt and said that it would still decently serve. More than a standard oil change and air filter did nothing. Although my husband loves to go to car services and regularly sends me there at the slightest rustle, but so far with the assurance that “everything is fine with you,” they send me home.

Let the fans of this model throw rotten tomatoes at me, but the Pajero IV, like its predecessor, is not designed for frequent off-road driving. It has no frames, independent suspensions, the transmission is crammed with electronics. This is a comfortable family SUV with advanced all-wheel drive capabilities. But what about the victories of the third generation at the Dakars? Let's not cast a shadow on the wattle fence - everyone knows that sports items have little in common with standard ones.

The abundance of new details, the changed design - all this is nice. Personally, I am very glad that the terrible muscular front fenders are a thing of the past.

FIND TEN DIFFERENCES

But where does the Pajero IV really advance compared to the third generation? The new body has become more rigid in torsion, that is, handling on asphalt should have improved. A gratifying fact, but the Pajero III was in perfect order with this. It's almost impossible to feel the difference. But the fact that the hood has become aluminum is quite noticeable: now, to put it on a stand-stick, a minimum of effort is required. True, in a good way, a car of this price segment should not have any sticks, the hood could be held by hydraulic stops ... The rear visibility has also noticeably improved: the spare wheel was lowered by 50 mm.

The car we tested had a new 3.8L (250 hp) petrol V6 with proprietary MIVEC electronic valve timing and a variable length intake manifold. And it’s very good that he replaced the former injection GDI V6 3.5 l (202 hp) at the combat post - because of bad gasoline, the high-pressure fuel pump and nozzles often failed.

The new gasoline engine is combined only with the adaptive five-speed automatic transmission INVECS-II Sports Mode. This equipment is called Ultimate, and they ask for $60,990 for it. In addition to the engine and gearbox, it differs from the cheapest Intense modification with a 3.2 l diesel (165 hp) and manual transmission, worth $49,990, in the following components: a leather interior, fancy audio system and DVD player. There is also an intermediate equipment Instyle, where there is already leather, but the audio complex is simpler and there is no DVD. The rest on the Russian market is included in the basic equipment. These are climate control, CD receiver, alloy wheels, xenon headlights, manual rear air conditioning and cruise control.

SENSE OF BEAUTY?

What has been seriously redrawn is the interior. Comfortable, no doubt. New dashboard. Soft plastic all around. Only wood and metal inserts are dissonant with each other - I would like some certainty what we have here - high-tech or classic. Moreover, the dark blue illumination of the instruments and the on-board computer is not combined with them. Somehow it reminded Chinese SUVs. Good thing there are other options...

The seats of the first and second rows are comfortable without any “buts”. The driver's seat in the electric version is equipped with five adjustments, including the stiffness of the lumbar support. The steering column is adjustable only by the angle of inclination - in principle, this is not scary, it is unlikely that anyone will have problems with ergonomics. And yet, a car of this price segment should satisfy the maximum whims of the owner ... By the way, it struck me that the on-board computer does not understand our way.

Pajero IV is a seven-seater SUV. More precisely, conditionally seven-seater, like most classmates. Painfully small bench, playing the role of the third row and folded hiding in the underground of the trunk. The trunk with the third-row seats folded down is huge. But the plastic of its sidewalls is painfully tender - scratches appear almost on their own.

The chassis has not changed much, at least visually there were no differences from the previous Pajero hanging on a nearby lift. Suspension independent spring: front with double wishbones, and rear multi-link.

The proprietary "Padzherovskaya" SuperSelect transmission is now called Advanced (advanced) SuperSelect 4WD (SS4-II). It still offers four modes - rear-wheel drive, four-wheel drive, all-wheel drive with a locked center differential in a high row and the same in a low one.

BUSINESS COMFORT

Well, we figured out the materiel. By horses? Pajero is good on asphalt. The fact that this is not a passenger car is only reminded by excellent visibility and a high seating position. And more than respectful attitude from other road users, of course. At first, I was surprised by the excellent sound insulation, but then it passed. When the arrow on the speedometer passes over a hundred, aerodynamic noise slowly seeps into the cabin. As for the head light, the near one is just excellent, but the far one - in general, die all living things.

MATTER: MITSUBISHI PAJERO IV

The suspension is comfortable, however, body roll in corners is not at all great. The steering wheel caused some complaints, it was painfully light, American.

When driving in a quiet mode, the "automatic" smoothly and timely sorts through the gears. However, when overtaking, the kickdown works with a noticeable delay. Manual mode does not change the situation. It seems that the steps have been snapped off a couple of steps down for a long time, and the brains of the “automatic machine” are in a state of short-term reverie.

AND WHERE ARE THE HORSES?

Well, what about the motor? Can't say he disappointed me. Yes, it accelerates the Pajero to hundreds in 10.8 seconds, but still you expect more from 250 “horses”. Although we must not forget that they have to drag 2110 kg of curb weight. So it is not surprising that the appetite of these "horses" is all right. According to our rough estimates and on-board computer data, fuel consumption was about 18-20 liters per hundred. With a tank of 88 liters, it turns out not so hot what a power reserve. By the way, far from megacities, the owner can expect a small surprise. At the next gas station, a filling nozzle simply won’t fit into a narrow neck. It is made under the European standard.

REMEMBER RAMP

How are things off-road? And it depends on what. As long as there is a solid base under a layer of sand or mud, everything is fine. Ground clearance is quite decent, and the transmission allows a lot. On rough terrain, the car climbed well. The independent suspension moves, of course, are small, but a full-fledged rear differential lock (optional) helped out. The main thing is not to forget that the car is long-wheelbase. It is not difficult to sit on the inflection of the bottom. The complex of active safety and cross-country systems can be turned off with a button, but not completely. Electronics stands guard to the last, and the degree of its intervention depends on the position of the transfer case selector.

What are the results of our acquaintance? It is not entirely clear who needs such a serious off-road transmission, coupled with a light chassis. Still, in a sober mind, the owners of the Mitsubishi Pajero IV are unlikely to climb into the difficult domestic off-road. The fact that the sides are scratched is not so bad. After all, there is still a risk of damaging something in the suspension, breaking through an unprotected gas tank. And mud baths will obviously not add health to numerous electronics. Nevertheless, in general, the impressions were quite positive. The new Pajero is a comfortable and safe family station wagon for multi-purpose use. He seems to have finally settled down.

13.06.2013 19:21:59

I must say that the history of this Mitsubishi Pajero 2008 was started by a good man named Dmitry from Novosibirsk, who drank the most grief. I got cream...

Here is a link to the first review - Review of the Mitsubishi Pajero …. My review will be more about internal sensations. I will write about the technical features of Mitsubishi Pajero 2008 in a year. Firstly, the mileage is still too low and there are no repairs to speak of. Secondly, the summer will show. In the summer, the car will see many terrible roads and directions))) So for now, just a review for those who are looking towards the Pajero IV and are thinking about buying or not. I’ll just describe my impressions, but for those who are interested, let him think for himself whether he is ready to put up with the minuses and whether he needs the pluses of the new Padzherik.

I must say that in general has always been a lover of Toyota cars. Of course, when the old Toyota became very old, I decided to change it to a new one. I didn’t consider other options, except for the Prado options, on which an insane number of roads and directions were passed, and of the Land Cruiser 100. Although the “hundredth” is too big for me. Especially since I drive alone 80 percent of the time. Well, the garage is back-to-back. And he also looked after the car in a variation on the theme, but with the Lexus brand. After three weeks of searching, it became somehow sad. I could not imagine such a quantity of rubbish that was exhibited in Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and Krasnoyarsk at a price of 1300 to 1500 million. I can write treatises about firms that are trying to “suck in” rickety cars for one and a half lyama. We must pay tribute to local junk sellers, they are excellent psychologists. They are bred for a sucker cool. After these searches, I am tormented by the question - are there really no horses in the country that can be used to suck in slightly living cars. But repurchasing companies somehow live. And someone buys this rubbish. … Once upon a time, he himself “hunted” with cars on the market, but when he was on the other side of the barricades, he laughed out loud. No, there were honest cars from OD. With runs of 60-80 thousand. Certified service books. But the price of the Toyota Prado for 07-08 was 1800-1950 million rubles ... Somehow, an inner voice in this situation said that giving 150-300 "rubas" more for a used car than it was bought was complete madness. Lexuses have disappeared by themselves. No, among them were a couple of very vigorous ones. But again, somehow an inner voice said, “Do you need to buy a car for 50-60 thousand dollars with a mileage of 130-150 thousand km?”
As a result, even looked Honda Pilot, Nissan Murano. The last one somehow did not insert. Although in the old body it was possible to buy an official Murano with a mileage of 20-30 thousand km for 900-1000 million rubles. And with full stuffing. But somehow it just wasn't for me. The car is good, but too hard for me. I didn’t like the new one even more, although in a good configuration, OD offered to pick it up for 1600 in total. Honda Pilot ... I would take it. But he entered the garage very back to back. Kruzak size. And almost took it. Well, at least I seriously considered the option.

With the Lexus RX350 the same story was repeated as with the Prado ... I watched the Nissan Pathfinder. Don't go in there yourself. Plus, it's a weird fit. It's not like a sports coupe. And you have to lie behind the wheel of a jeep .. Strange, in a word, a car designed for people with a height of 165 cm. And I really liked the concept of an SUV as such and outwardly.
Thoughts began to revolve around the new car from the passenger compartment. And even tuned in to the car from the passenger compartment. Although the financial situation is not particularly conducive now to buy a car for 2300-2600 million, but I also really didn’t want to take chlamydia for 1500-1800. Personally, I do not understand the point of buying a car worth 1,500 million rubles with a mileage of 100 thousand or more. This is beyond my understanding.
And here, in fact, another good man named Oleg intervened in the history of acquiring a car, who gave me a Pajero IV '08 to ride. After 100 km on the highway, I realized that I like the Pajero IV much more than the Prado. Then he began to search for Pajero IV, with the fear of flying into a problem with engine liners .... I will not describe the search for Pajero IV .... Everything ended simply. I read on the site a story about P4 from Novosibirsk and an engine replacement under warranty at 13,000 miles. Judging by the response, I assumed that the owner of the car was clearly upset by what had happened and, most likely, he had the appropriate attitude towards the car. Well, I would definitely have an auto-negative attitude towards the car after that. In a word, I offered the owner to buy his Pajero IV. And after a month and a half of communication Pajero 4 2008 release with a mileage of 18 thousand km changed Novosibirsk registration to Tomsk. I just brought parking sensors to the car, since the car is not small and it is more convenient to park. Well, according to tradition, I rolled the rear windows into tar. I still don’t understand why the traffic cops are digging into the tinting of the front ones. And what a nonsense that tinted windows somehow affect traffic safety. In my opinion, traffic safety is only affected by the level of stupidity of some drivers, which cannot be reduced by the lack of tinting.

A good man Dmitry treated Pajero IV with love. The car was just in perfect condition, except for all sorts of little things that I do not take into account. Especially since the car is under warranty. So all the little things on TO 20 were eliminated without problems.
As I understood from a conversation with OD, I got Mitsu Pajero IV in a "pre-maximum" configuration. That is, without "Rockford" and DVD. But with a huge sunroof, which gives me much more pleasure than good music. Although garlic music sucks on this machine. But I'm not much of a music lover. Chenzh is not even always filled with disks. The radio is playing, okay. Maybe the mood will be, bang good music. But for any good music you need to make Shumkov in the car. I don't really want to get involved with this. I won't list this as a negative. Here looking with what to compare. I can only compare with the Prado 120, which drove indecently a lot, if we talk about cars of this class. In general, I don’t really understand the complaints about the standard Shumka in the reviews on the site. In my opinion, the pebbles hit the rear fender liner with the same noise in both Prada and Pajero IV. Although the Prado is a little quieter in terms of aerodynamic noise. In the end, you can calmly talk at a speed of 140-150 in either car. Or are you going to record the soundtrack in the car?

I'll start with the cons of Pajero IV

Perhaps, if we talk about the main auto-negative moments in the Pajero IV, there are quite a few of them.

Gasoline consumption. Appetite Pajero IV more than immodest. In the city less than 18 does not work. But this is if you breathe on the accelerator. If at least "retired" - then 20. If "fry" - then 23. With warm-ups, I think, and 25 will not choke. Although on the highway at a speed of 90 on a cruise - I fit into 14 on the computer. (see photo, cruising speed 90, no rear wheel drive conder). It was not possible to squeeze out the consumption less. You give 120-140 the same 18. This is all-wheel drive. Not much less in the back. Liter for two or three in the city. Therefore, I don’t see much point in turning off the Pajero IV all-wheel drive. Unless on the rear steering wheel it turns out like a feather, and the smoothness of the ride is like on a rear-wheel drive car .... And if we talk about the Pajero IV on-board computer, then in my opinion it drives great. And you shouldn't really believe his testimony. When you start the car, the computer shows 99 liters per 100 km for the first 5 minutes of driving. And then five minutes 55 liters. By distance, with one division of fuel eaten on the fuel consumption sensor, the computer shows that you can drive 190 km. Really drive 300 on the odometer. On the highway at a speed of 120-140, the tank is enough for about 500 km. Prado in the city fit into 17-18 liters with my driving style. I think that such an expense is again a miscalculation of Japanese engineers for the operation of the box. Very long first second gear, then short third, short fourth. But again, in general, the Pajero IV box works smoothly, without jerks. Switching can be seen only by the arrow of the tachometer. Although minus consumption is more of a claim to the brand. Well type to compare two manufacturers. For me, fortunately, consumption is not an indicator. In general, do not look at the readings of the computer. He often shows stupidity. Except for the barometer. Oddly enough, he guesses)))) But I don’t think that the barometer readings are very necessary for the driver.

The inconvenience of placing the Pajero IV computer display for tall drivers. I personally don't see the time at all. You have to bow your head. Well, the computer management is not just stupid, but bad. To see some desired indication, you need to scroll everything in a circle. It's uncomfortable at speed. Well, I will polish this claim by the fact that on a bright, sunny day the display simply disappears. It is completely invisible.

The weak body of the Pajero IV is broken.
In the presence of such a serious thing as a super-select, overcoming obstacles is scary. Pajero IV will fasten it in such a way that it cuts to the heart. Although it seems like an SUV .... Frame Prado is out of competition here. As for the squeaks in the cabin of the Pajero IV ... Well, here again, depending on what to compare. I don’t think that the owners of P4 switched to cars from Land Cruisers 100 or 200. Therefore, the issue of interior creakiness is a question of what to compare with ... Well, besides, the former owner of the Pajero IV extinguished many crickets. I also nailed a couple of three. Although one bastard is sitting somewhere in the back seat, I can’t finish everything. In the cons of Pajero IV, I will write down the back door. It is very heavy with 17 tires. Already at 20 thousand, a strip is observed along the edge of the door from the fact that the door rubs against the body. Which means it sags a little. Well, in the meantime, the car is under warranty, at the next MOT I will ask the OD to be eliminated. Let them regulate. By the way, the number of crickets in Pajero IV is directly proportional to sub-zero temperatures overboard. When it's warm, there are no crickets at all. I think at +20 in the cabin there is silence in general. Summer will show. Well, one more thing is not clear to me - 27-30 crickets also disappear completely.

It would not hurt to make the footrests a little wider. Not very convenient to get in and out.

Put the windscreens on the front windows immediately. The aerodynamics are such that without visor the left front window fills with trash in 15 minutes on a dirty road. You have to stop and wipe. The left mirror is not visible at all. Wind deflectors solve the problem. OD 9500 has a set.

At a speed of 160-180 km per hour in Pajero IV, on bumps in the road, the left front door really slams. Yes, and campaign back sings along. The geometry of the body does not give rigidity, so it feels like the upper left corner of the door is moving away.

For the dipped beam in the Pajero IV, I will put 4.
It doesn't look bad, but somehow it's missing. The left headlight would illuminate a slightly larger piece of space. But the setting is perfect. I tried to raise it, the oncoming ones start blinking. I'm going blind. As for the distant light. 5 - definitely. When the headlights are on, turn off the car, take out the key, the headlights go out. Comfortable. But if you turn on the lower tumanki. All. They don't fade. A couple of times it flew in, out of habit, taking out the keys from the lock, but not turning off the tumanki. Fortunately Akum is a horse, he didn’t sit down for 20 minutes.

Having traveled a little more, I realized that when the glass is dirty, the left wiper does not reach the edge of the glass, cm 5-7. As a result, after a dirty track, we get 7 cm of dirt on the glass on the driver's side. Plus a stand. Total in the dirt is shitty visibility, which the whole thing interferes with.

More about driving Pajero IV in the mud. Funny aerodynamics. Mud throws right up to the door handle. She's all dirty. But the pen itself, about 10 cm, remains clean and, most interestingly, clean from the inside. As a result, you can open the door without getting your hands dirty. And the same with the back door. How this is achieved is beyond my understanding too. Just like that I had to ride on the third hameryug. It’s really impossible to open the door without getting smeared with mud after a trip along the autumn highway. So, I came up with a comparison...

MMS sucks. Saved on the rain sensor. Very catchy. But there is a strange function of the wipers from the speed of the car. I tried to understand the algorithm of work for two days. Again, it was beyond my comprehension. In the instruction manual there is only a mention that this function is present. And then the method of scientific poke. In general, the point is that the faster you go, the slower it cleans. When standing - cleans quickly. I always thought, as a sin, that it should be the other way around. But our thoughts in MMC engineers diverged for sure.

I thought about the box. In any case, this is the reason for horse consumption. Works perfect. Well, a poke or a jerk at any level of dope. But he thinks for a long time. And very short passes. The Prado box is much faster. And there seems to be enough horses. And the dynamics are not directly mischievous. But the Pajero IV has a power reserve at any speed. Despite the workload. At least 7 people. Dynamics does not fall. There is enough torque to carry all this stuff. But again, not a mischievous car. It’s not that it’s not enough, I just would like more aggressive acceleration. But again, not a racing car.

Pajero IV glass simply attracts pebbles. Each exit to the track ends with a visit to the service for sealing the chip. I just feel that the insurance company will love to intervene to replace the windshield.

At 20 thousand, the Pajero IV monitor wrote - a radio connection error.
That is, everything worked, but the control did not show. No volume, no channel. Went to OD. They refused to fix it under warranty. They took 500 rubles. Something has been cancelled. They said I was the first one with this problem. I hope it doesn't shoot any further.

The front brake discs Pajero IV - full G ... BUT.
The former owner, as I understand it, machined them in thousands by 10. At 23, the same thing. Not the cars these days. Although, by the way, I flew into the water at -27 degrees after 450 km along the highway. Drove the night. The river overflowed. In short, somewhere on the floor of the wheel in the water. I passed at a speed of 60 km. And it twitched very unpleasantly. Thanks to the stabilization system. Worked perfect. I got off, so to speak, with an unpleasant smell in the cabin due to the inherent nature in every person. And I note I got off, but I didn’t do it. On the Prada, he could crap himself. Because in such situations there electronics sometimes choke the engine. That is, it behaves unpredictably. And in that situation it was necessary to go through the gas. Along the way, drives and led. Ordered German. It makes sense to put the originals if they initially suck. The price of the issue is not critical - 4500 per disc, well, pads. Original - 3800, for the front set.

By 30 thousand, a not very pleasant noise from the pads appeared in the Pajero IV after 40-50 km. Pads live, disks too. I suspect that the material itself is not ice. The top layer has worn off. Some kind of uniform rattle-rustling went. I'll be replacing the pads in a few days. I'll check my suspicion.

After 140 km an hour on a not very flat road, the glass of the side mirrors begins to rattle slightly. Unpleasant. OD looked said everything whole inside. I looked myself. It seems to be true. Talked to the owners. There is such a problem on all machines.

At night, by 120 km, I hit the bird by 2 kg, probably in appearance. Bird in pieces. The radiator grill survived.

LKP Pajero IV is also not the same as on the old right-handed Japs. Caught a couple of three chips.

On a flat piece of the track, which we have one in the region (towards Krasnoyarsk between Yaya and Mariinsky), where you can fry, I tried the maximum speed of the Pajero IV. According to the navigator, it gives out at 203 km per hour. It doesn't accelerate further. Well, or rather, we need more good roads. It feels like, at this speed, a very calm control of the machine. Extremely calm. Not that it would be just like on a sedan, but for an SUV, I was very directly surprised by the behavior of the car. Well, this is true, for the sake of completeness. I do not think that the speed characteristic is of fundamental importance for a jeep. Yes, and we have nowhere to go and there is no need! And besides, at such a speed, the Pajero IV guzzles gasoline like an intergalactic starship that sucks into a black hole, and it tries to escape from it by turning on all six trinet turbulators.
Belly protection is a topic. At night, I did not notice a piece of some kind of piece of iron. With such force, it hit the bottom. There was a small dent on the guard. It would not have been something that would have definitely been torn off or pierced. So the defense has worked out its money.

Regarding the rigidity of the Pajero IV… Well I do not know. I would say it's not a minus and not a plus. It's just a "short-travel suspension", besides multi-link rear. No more. The owners of the Pajero III say that the three-ruble note is very stiff, referring to the fact that the Pajero IV has other racks. I can't say anything about this. But I would not call the Pajero IV tough. In general, the P4 suspension, from my point of view, is very tenacious. The units are arranged quite compactly. Nothing sticks out. There is nothing special to tear off off-road. Well, if you really go to hell. In general, the whole belly is, as it were, recessed into the body. No protruding knots. So, if you need to “shuffle” your belly on the snow, you can safely do it. Don't tear anything off. If you put the original three-piece protection, then on your belly, at least ride in the snow like on an ice sled.

And now for the prosPajero IV

The first and most important for me is handling.
Actually, this bribed the Pajero IV. On the highway at a speed of 150-170 km per hour, the control for such a car is almost perfect. I repeat that we are talking about the jeep. Minimum roll, excellent feedback on the steering wheel. Prado at this speed was just a piece of iron in two and a half tons flying in a straight line. For the Prado, a comfortable speed is 120-130. Well, the comfort is relative. It is too cottony from my point of view .. After 200 km of road in the trunk, the dog began to puke. What else did Pajero IV like - that on a broken road at speed it does not feel pits if the speed is over 70 km per hour. . For example, on a piece of the highway near the Mariinsky, if you go from Tomsk to Krasnoyarsk (who knows this part of the bombing, he will understand) Pajero IV allows you to drive at a speed of 90-120 km per hour. The car is perfect. I got such feelings somehow from the Land Cruiser 100, driving along the same site. It just goes a lot smoother. It just floats. Pajero IV on such a road chimes with suspension. Well, of course, the salon sings in unison with squeaks. Prado there, too, 120 -130 goes with a bang. But the dog begins to puke after 60 km, along with the passengers in the back seats. A little walk through the winter road. Just great. Holds the comb from the tractor's shovel with dignity. Without permutations of the sirloin of the car. But the steering wheel still gives a surplus. But on the other hand, passengers do not fly around the cabin on such a road and speed.

Plus the super-select Pajero IV. The thing is wonderful
. Sometimes I go out for the winter. Those who traveled on them in Siberia will understand why there is a serious four-wheel drive. I must say that the machine provokes stupid acts. And sometimes you go where you shouldn't go. Therefore, it is not superfluous to buy crankcase protection for the car. The OD has a 6500 setting of 1400. In general, I have not yet tried a car on a frank off-road. But an experiment carried out with the Pajero IV within the reach of a tractor showed that the machine has decent cross-country ability. But I will post this part of the review after the first outing on the road.

An absolute plus of the Pajero IV, from my point of view, is the extremely correct operation of the exchange rate stabilization system. Hooked up at the very last moment. Simply put, when it clicked with its beak. And so you always have time to make the maneuver that you want. On the same Prado, this system choked the engine with or without reason. By the way, nevertheless, there is a minus here too. The button to disable electronic security systems does not actually disable it. But it just muffles. And if you get into the dirt, then again, at the very last moment, the electronics begin to intervene, which it should not do at all. In general, sometimes on the Pajero IV you understand that the super-select is good. But the hell with two, you use it in full, because of smart electronics. On the one hand, the car will be more whole. This is a kind of "antidurk". On the other hand, what about the larger the jeep, the further into the village behind the tractor. With such electronics, you definitely won’t have to go very far to the ancient one. Experienced Padzherovody suggested that the problem is solved by getting the ABC fuse. Really works. Checked! That's when you get a real jeep and a wonderful tractor ride.

Of the pluses, I note the comfortable front seats. Yes, and generally landing in the car. With a height of 186 cm, I calmly manage to sit down, that my left leg weighs in the air and my right leg is extended. In cruise control mode, like in a home chair in front of the TV. In addition, it is extremely convenient to reach everything in the cabin. Although there is a fly in the ointment. Tumanok buttons are located extremely uncomfortable. Tall drivers constantly press them into the inside of the panel with their left knee. Fortunately, under them is the fuse box cover and it’s easy to “press” them back into place.
In general, if we talk about the ergonomics of the cabin, then in general it is flawless. Except for the rather stiff left door handle. After 3-4 hours of driving, again for tall drivers, the left elbow begins to hurt. Here's how to make it a little softer. What would be more comfortable to rest. Well, the indications of the arrows are too small where the air is blowing on the stove monitor .. It is inconvenient to watch. You have to lean towards the scoreboard. Again, if we talk about the salon, the phrase "stylish, fashionable, youthful" suggests itself. But not seriously. It's like everything is a toy or something. Blue-red backlight ... Well, somehow it’s not solid for a car worth two lyamas. I don't think P4 is the dream of "glamorous boys". And the interior lighting, just for them)))) Yes, by the way, I don’t understand why the function of lighting the legs in the P4 cabin? See how you trample the rugs with dirty boots after a trip to nature!? Like what psychological pressure on the owner to go to the car wash? Well, perhaps I’ll also note that with a height of 186 cm, I lack a bit of steering wheel adjustment. A little more and a little higher. And everything is great. And then I don’t see the top row of indicators, such as the turn signal, the headlights on at all. Well, all sorts of pockets and "nychek" are not enough. Especially in the trunk. There is generally one compartment measuring 30 cm by 50 cm on the left side of the skin. And an incomprehensible compartment on the back door, where, apart from an emergency sign and a rag, nothing is included. An additional row of seats under the trunk floor. Don't put anything in there. Therefore, buying a grid under which you can hide everything is a necessity. At OD 2500 it costs. And then all the good flies through the trunk from side to side. Although in general, once again I emphasize the interior is very comfortable.
But in the advantage of this car I will write down 7 seats in the cabin. Moreover, the rear seats are quite suitable for a person with a height of 165-170 cm. Well, for two hundred kilometers, he will not die there from positional compression syndrome. (that is, it will not leak or anything and will not pass). A very simple, fast and convenient transformation of the cabin, in addition, a flat floor is obtained. Yes, perhaps it is worth noting the very warm interior of the car and its rapid warming up, including the rear seats. The car is very warm. At a temperature of -25 in the cabin, I set the temperature to 18 degrees and the stove to two divisions maximum. Otherwise, there is nothing to breathe in the car. At the same time, it always tightens a piece of the left side glass in the area of the door handle. As soon as he didn't fight. I think the reason is the miscalculation of the placement of the side air duct. There is a slight lack of angle. The engineers here obviously overlooked.

Extremely pleased with OD, we have it new. The old one, fortunately, welled up. Well, he is dear to him there, since it is difficult to imagine a more boorish attitude towards customers. Well, with the prices they just got impudent. In fact, they buried themselves.
The new OD - MOT 20 - 5000 rubles. Plus, they don't mind bringing your own parts. And don't mind if you want to fill up your oil. No warranty issues. The main thing is that the characteristics correspond to those declared by the manufacturer. Well, if the oil is 0W-30, then this should be the case regardless of the brand.
I was also pleased that among the list of stolen cars Padzherik 4 is not even on the last page. As a result, the issue price is 4 percent for CASCO and all the pleasure without taking into account wear and tear, and with the choice of a workshop where to repair if something happens - 48 thousand rubles. And no satellites. And insurance is good. At the OD, the headlight on the Pajero 4 costs 49 thousand rubles, the glass is 42 thousand rubles. I don't scare, I warn. Believe me, sometimes overpaying an extra fifty dollars saves you from a lot of problems.

Some Conclusions

Would I take a Pajero IV from the salon for 2000 million in this configuration !? Definitely not. The fat-free Prado for 2300 is better. The Pajero is clearly not up to this price in terms of comfort, various gadgets (well, at least they installed a rain sensor. And separate buttons for heating the mirrors, the windshield and the rear window heater, for example. Otherwise, some crazy savings are all on one button to start) and at least some hint - the luxury of the cabin. As an option that turned up to me. Literally a new car for the price of a used pradik in almost maximum deadness is an ideal option. All the disadvantages that the car has, personally, I'm not very upset. And in general, ideal cars do not exist. Just Pajero is not only a means of transportation. It's a kind of attitude to life. For me personally, Pajero IV is the car that fully meets my inner self. And it likes to travel a lot, and to places where the direction is considered the road. Especially when you consider when you choose between a cricket that lives in the cabin of a new car and a tortured car for one and a half lyama. Well, if about first impressions, something like this. As the operation will traditionally add impressions and various information. At least now the car is 100 percent satisfied. And I think that for the given amount I bought exactly the car that I wanted. In general, the sensations of the Pajero reminded me of the distant sensations of youth when I bought a '94 Suzuka Yescuda in 2001 for 4,500 thousand bucks on Zelenka)))) With a 1.6 engine. It was creaky, low-power, it’s not at all clear which one (by the way, the site still has a review about square-practicing good). But it was a jeep in which I drove through places that not everyone dares to go. There was Altai, and Kazakhstan, and the ice of Lake Baikal ... Here Pajero IV gives me the same sensations as that old Paskudik .. A car that always has a joker, in the form of a cross-country ability. And in which there is confidence that you will pass here. I won’t say that I’m pissing with boiling water from this car, besides, I’m still a sophisticated driver, but I frankly like it. And I am ready to forgive the cons of this model. Although it is unlikely that in a couple of years I will buy Pajero V, which has been promised for more than a year. Advise to take or not to take - I will not. Everyone decides for himself what to drive and everyone is guided by the principles of choosing a car. Pajero IV in the secondary market, if you are satisfied with the price, it is not bad at all.
