I decided to write a short review about the Chevrolet Volta. Why did the choice fall on this particular car and hybrids in general? I “got sick” with a hybrid after acquiring a Toyota Prius in the 20th body of 2007, driving a car for about two years (the car showed itself only on the good side, it never failed, it started in any frost). After the birth of the Prius 30 body, I decided it was time to change the car. After selling the Prius 20 body and subsequent searches, I bought a Prius 30 body in Vladivostok. Having traveled and compared with the Prius in the 20th body, I realized that the thirty is still raw, the plastic rattles, there is no sound insulation, the only thing I liked was the operation of the engine, its return and unpretentiousness in work. Travel by car a bit, eventually began the search for a car that I like. For 4 years I had several cars: a Prius Alpha in a seven-seater body in a complete set, a Prius Alpha in a five-seater body, then again a Prius in a 20 body. Like a good car, but the train, I realized that this is not quite what I wanted. Last year, I became interested in the Nissan Leaf, read a lot on the forum, looked at the reviews, I liked the car, and in January 2017 I bought the second generation Leaf in the back of AZEO 2012. I liked the car at first, but then I was disappointed in the train. The downside is that it is tied to an outlet and it is no longer possible to leave the city to rest. In addition, in winter at -20, -30 degrees below zero, the mileage decreased on a single charge from 100 km in summer to 35-40 km in winter with partial interior heating, since most of the energy was consumed by the stove. After leaving the garage and having reached work, I already began to think how much more it would be enough to drive and how to get to the outlet faster. While exploiting the car, at the same time I read the forum where I came across a topic about the Chevrolet Volt. I read from cover to cover how Boris restored the car after an accident, how he described the operation of the car, wrote that the battery was heated from antifreeze, that the car could drive not only on electricity but also on gasoline, while charging the car from a regular outlet. In our climatic conditions where I live, the temperature in winter drops to -35 - -40 degrees below zero and in summer it rises to +25 - +35 degrees. And now I understand that such a car in our climatic conditions can be operated without fear that the battery will not last long, plus a nice bonus in recharging from the network, which is more profitable than refueling with gasoline, the cost of which has exceeded 41 rubles a liter. He put the Leaf up for sale and at the same time began searching for the Chevrolet Volt. It turned out that the Nissan Leaf was sold faster than finding the Volt. They are not available in Japan, it was very difficult to drag them from America, I was afraid that I could attack scammers on order and turned to the members of the forum for help with a request to purchase a car. After some time, a man from Belarus responded to my request, his name is Dmitry, he recently acquired Volta from a Copart auction, there was a blow to the right front door, the body remained intact, the door was picked up in the same color, the original was replaced upon arrival in Belarus and here it is decided to offer me a car, honestly told what happened, attached photos before and after. He explained that initially he did not plan to sell, he did not even put it up for sale, he decided to simply help in purchasing a car and in preparation for the transfer, for which I am sincerely grateful to him. Having collected the budget and planned to fly to Belarus in early July, I was about to take tickets when a new trouble happened: a law was passed on installing the GLONASS system on cars. I started searching for this button and it turned out that everything is not so simple: the blocks go to the east, and they are not delivered to Chita. I was very upset because of this, but then I accidentally saw an advertisement for the sale of a glonass button, contacted me by phone, they said that the buttons were brought, they could install them on a car, but since they are not yet available, you have to wait about a month. As a result, the wait dragged on for 4 months and finally they called me and said that the blocks had arrived and I could pick them up. After receiving, I took the tickets and flew to Belarus, asking in advance to prepare the car for the transfer to Siberia. Arriving on December 12, I left towards Russia in the evening. I went through customs at the border quickly, just looked at the salon and that's it. The first impression of the car was positive: the sound insulation is excellent, only the rustle of the wheels is heard and that's it, the engine runs quietly, the suspension is soft, there are no crickets in the cabin, information is displayed on the monitors pleasantly and informatively. When you turn on the climate, the stove fries very strongly in comfort mode, in eco it is weaker. I liked the automatic operation of heated seats. At first they turn on at full power and as they warm up, the power drops. I was also pleased that there are sensors in the tires, you don’t have to look at the wheels, everything is displayed on the monitor. The seats are very comfortable, leather, for all 7000 km the back has never got tired, only the fifth point from a long seat. It is also nice that you can adjust the steering wheel not only up and down, but also back and forth. During the haul, the weather changed several times: first it rained with wind, then snow, the temperature dropped from +2 to -25 degrees below zero. The car proved to be worthy, the only error popped up once was that the car charging hatch was open and later the engine check appeared. The hatch was wiped and the error did not repeat again (perhaps due to the formation of ice, the hatch moved a little, which led to this error), I didn’t really worry about the check, because I know that the quality of gasoline leaves the best, after topping up at another gas station, the check went away and didn't light up anymore. For all the time of the haul, and this is 7000 km, I just did not like how the halogens burn. Leaf also had halogens, but the light was brighter and more efficient. When you turn on the high beam, the headlights shine upwards, and not on the road, when the low beam is dim. What are the positive points: A small engine size (only 1.4 84hp), this is a small tax, the charging time for a car, depending on the car, is 4 hours (there is a choice in the menu of 8 amps or 12 amps), a big plus is that we have a liter gasoline costs 41 rubles, but light costs 4 rubles (and somewhere even less), even if you charge a car every day, then less money will be spent per month than on the same gas station. In addition, this is the same electric car as the Nissan Leaf, but with an application in the form of a gasoline generator, which allows you to travel longer distances without thinking where to find an outlet. Also, the batteries in the Chevrolet Volt electric car can be charged from a 220 V network. The charging time is from four to five hours. The range of a car with an electric and gasoline engine is 600 kilometers. The volume of the fuel tank for a gasoline engine is 35 liters.

Now, on the new Chevrolet Volt, the capacity is 18.4 kWh. Thanks to this, the power reserve has increased. On one electric traction, the car is capable of driving about 80 kilometers. And with the internal combustion engine running, which generates current for the electric motor, the range is 676 kilometers. Reduced battery charging time by 30 minutes. It is also worth noting the dynamic characteristics. So, acceleration to hundreds decreased to 8.5 seconds. But the maximum speed fell by 3 kilometers per hour.

Chevrolet Volt is a four-seat car, a high central tunnel with battery cells located in it divides the cabin in half, so that there are two separate seats in the second row (reminiscent of a Porshe Panamera). That's just the space for the rear passengers is not enough. The low roof presses on the top of the head, there is no freedom for the feet. Batteries with a total weight of 198 kg are placed in the luggage compartment, taking up part of the usable volume, which eventually decreased to 300 liters.

In normal mode, the Chevrolet Volt travels on a supply of battery power and is able to cover 40-80 kilometers on it, depending on the speed and driving style of the driver. When the supply of electric fuel runs out, the gasoline engine comes into operation, but it does not rotate the wheels on a straight line (the only exception is in the “Mountain” mode), but generates electricity for the “electric brother”.
With fully charged batteries (charging time at 220-240V voltage will be 4-5 hours) and 35 liters of gasoline, the heavy Chevrolet Volt (1715 kg) is able to overcome more than 600 kilometers.
The Chevrolet Volt electric car pleases with a decent temperament (a set of 100 km / h in 9 seconds) and is capable of accelerating to 160 km / h. Manageability is at the level of an ordinary budget car, only the sensations of a computer stimulator are not alive.

Chevrolet Volt sales started in North America at the end of 2010. Potential buyers are deterred by the price of a high-tech Chevrolet Volt - from 40,280 US dollars for a standard package and 41,970 US dollars for a car with a leather interior and a rear-view camera. I drive a Chevrolet Volt for almost six months and experience only positive emotions. From home to work there and back to me to go 55 km. The battery life is sufficient. At first, it took me a long time to get used to the fact that the car is very quiet. Random passers-by are very surprised there is no sound, but the car calmly goes uphill. I really like the seats - although they are not very large, but comfortable. Chevrolet Volt is a cramped car. A battery is installed in the center of the car, which, as it were, divides the rear seats into two separate ones.

Good chassis, automatic gearbox does not cause any complaints. The car handles excellently and stays on the road. The acceleration of the car suits me completely. Good low light.

I am sure that cars like the Chevrolet Volt are the future. Yes, it is still very expensive. But it's exclusive, and it can not be cheap! From the outside, the car looks amazing. Very nice gear shift knob. Two touch screens make the cabin look like a spaceship from science fiction movies. There is room for only two passengers in the back. There is a battery in the middle of the seats, but it is hidden by a decorative panel and everything looks very original and beautiful.

It's great that almost everything is done by a computer. It fully manages the operation of all systems in automatic mode. The speed is not great, but it's enough for me. The suspension is a little stiff, but the Chevrolet Volt holds up very well on the road.

Since I drive almost exclusively on batteries, there is very little gasoline. Drove 2000 km and used only 28 liters of gasoline. Very convenient battery charging - there is a special charger that can be connected to a simple outlet.

Yes, and the interior is original, good leather seats, 2 clear and comfortable touch screens.

On this, all the advantages of the Chevrolet Volt ended. No dynamics at all. I understand that the battery will not overclock much, but not to such an extent. Overtaking is quite problematic, the automatic gearbox periodically tupits. The computer commands everything - sometimes it just infuriates.

But all this is nonsense, the problems started when the car started to break down. And there are no spare parts. The headlight bulb burned out. I came to the service, and they said that there are none, you have to wait a whole month until they bring you up. But thank God I found a resembling Chevrolet Aveo. But when the problems with the suspension started, then here the spare parts definitely had to wait almost 2 months. The breakdown was not serious, so I drove myself slowly. In general, the Chevrolet Volt is a very good car, but to buy spare parts ...

I have been interested in hybrids for a long time, I don’t really like the Honda Insight and Prius, but I liked the Chevrolet Volt right away. The resource of driving on a battery without charging according to the passport is not very large - up to 80 km, but on average I drive 50 km a day. I go only to work and shopping in the supermarket. I checked the consumption of gasoline without a battery - 6 liters of gasoline are needed per 100 km.

From the outside, the Chevrolet Volt looks like a regular sedan. There is not enough space inside, but with a height of 180 cm I fit in the cabin without any problems. The original control panel - there are two regulators - light and air conditioning. All other parameters can be changed using the touch screen panel on the instrument panel. It is very convenient to remove dust - wiped the screen with a special cloth, everything is in order.

Automatic transmission sometimes a little tupit. Driving the Chevrolet Volt is not very dynamic when I ride on batteries, but it has very good handling and smoothness.
