The car is smart, it will warn you even when the washer is over. He does not have a probe, because there is an electronic sensor. Handling is the trump card of the BMW X6 E71, which you can’t hide up your sleeve, it manifests itself from the first kilometers of driving, especially when the rear is 315 at a 20 radius, at 100 km / h in a 90 degree turn, only the squeak of rubber, even the electronics are not yet intervening, which speaks of a margin of safety. A standard luxury car, if it's not a BMW, is not capable of this. If you want to drive calmly, the box quietly clicks gears at 1800-2000 rpm, somewhere under the hood a “six” rumbles and you smoothly swing along the bumps of Russian roads. A lot of all sorts of necessary and not very “bells and whistles” (for example, high beam control or runflat tires). The navigator works, but not as we would like, it constantly sounds: "Follow the direction indicators." Although it does pretty well. Of the minuses of the BMW X6 E71: a very weak chassis. Been to the station twice. Changed jet stabilizer struts. And something continues to knock. But to find that - the masters can not. Even for money. For 5000 km the brake discs were damaged. Deep grooves on the disc (stones got between the brake pad and the disc). Structural flaw. Even though I didn't change them. In general, I am very satisfied - the car is just like new, not a single scuff anywhere, the only thing is a couple of chips on the hood, because the previous owners lived outside the city. I bought a BMW X6 E71 for 37,000 USD. In general, very satisfied, thank you. After the purchase, I went to the dealer and did an unplanned maintenance - it cost about 30 thousand - candles, oil, etc. The only thing that did not suit me in the car was some kind of incomprehensible acceleration. You press the gas, she seems to think for a few seconds, and only then she goes. I was even upset for a while, but then kind people suggested that I need to take and reprogram the gas pedal - I will do so and the car behaved completely differently. Really cool to go. My consumption is about 14-15 liters, not to say that I drive hard, but sometimes I press it. Everyone scolds BMW for being unreliable, but in fact you need to buy normal cars and not be greedy for paying for the services of professionals, and preferably already in restyling.

Pros: good handling (albeit without active steering) on ​​good roads, the BMW X6 E71 does not like ruts. But the disadvantage of handling is the rigidity of the suspension, sometimes on our roads it is very pitiful. Really reliable car. Whoever says anything - do not listen, the main thing is to look for a good option and not at the lowest price, there is always slag. Plus competent service, good oil and so on. Catches glances. All your surroundings really begin to look at you differently. The car is very status and respect. Very beautiful.

Now about the cons: because of the rigidity, it really happens, it’s uncomfortable. Plus, the interior of the BMW X6 E71 itself did not impress me very much - but this, as they say, is an amateur and not a roomy trunk, but these are all the little things in life. The engine itself is really good, but it seems to me that it is not for this particular car. I rode on the same diesel 235 forces and that's what is surprising - it goes up to 100 more slowly, but it seems that it is much faster. Torque matters. I don’t plan to change - I’ll probably drive another 70-100 thousand. Do not be afraid of BMWs, be afraid of these cars in a state already killed in advance. Diagnose well and take a diesel.

To make a hybrid based on a 5-liter gasoline engine with two turbines is to spit in the face of all Greenpeace'ovtsam. It would be possible to choose a diesel base. The absence of a starter is simply pleasing. There is no minus here. There are 2 seats in stock in the back. The useless glove box and cup holder were stripped of fifth place. I think this is a minus. On many car washes, the X6 passes at the station wagon rate. So washing is cheaper than an X5 SUV. I fill up at gas stations with proven gasoline and a good reputation. For 2 thousand rubles, I drive around 400 km around the city (in traffic jams, the car becomes a trolleybus). The annual tax is a minus. The car is interesting. Peculiar. Gives a lot of pleasure. Didn't go for diagnostics. To tell the truth, I always bought cars without diagnostics. It was enough to judge by the former owners and the car itself. But not at this time. Ride a week, everything is great. Made TO. But a week later the check engine light came on. I had this on a BMW 523 F10. It was cured by replacing the ignition coils. I came to the service, they said it was necessary to change the candles, coils and nozzles (and this is 130 thousand) - I changed it. A day later, the same thing again, arrived, an error on the high and low pressure sensor and on the cylinders - changed. 4 days later again. I changed the service, found a good minder, and here everything became clear. These motors are the most unsuccessful in the history of BMW. After parsing the BMW X6 E71 engine, it turned out that someone had changed the nozzles before me and forgot to put an o-ring in one, the result was a broken nozzle socket in the engine. Motor head replacement. Someone will say that this is just me and they will be right. But when they removed the motor and began to study, it turned out that the “Vanos” (chains) had come to an end. In general, now we sort out the motor for a week and put everything new. And then they say, train for a year and sell it, but it’s better right away. Then I began to find out that all the owners of my colleagues have this car in service for 1-2 months a year. Chains and nozzles are their sore spots. And these motors live on average for 60 thousand km. These motors are good only if you drive them for long distances between cities, in a word, do not stand in constant traffic jams. Change the oil every 7-8 thousand (when operating in the city) and the filter. And periodically anneal it on it to enable the system to fry everything. It is serviced at a dealer with an interval of 10 thousand km, the roads in the Urals are very mediocre, worse than in the European part of the Russian Federation, the mileage is 70% of the highway. Wheels and winter and summer 19 inches single wide. So, for all the time of problems: replacement of high-pressure fuel pump in the first year of life. I drove to the service from the region on my own. Guarantee. Replacing the roller bypass belt (buzzed). 3 thousand rubles. Headlight washer plugs flew out. Someone changed under warranty, I bought for 600 rubles. piece and paint. Nothing else changed at all, except for oil and filters. At minus 30 it starts up. Pre-styled xDrive35i have supercharged inline sixes 3.0 N54B30. An aluminum block, timing chain, direct injection and, which was unusual for a BMW until 2006, a TwinTurbo turbo with two relatively small volutes.
- Injection on the N54 with piezo injectors (180-200 euros apiece), which were not very successful. Adventures with them begin already in the region of 100 thousand: uneven speed, vibration, difficult start-up, increased consumption - these are all signals for diagnosing the power system. The root of evil happens, by the way, not only in nozzles - also in high-pressure fuel pumps (it may not even reach the first 100 thousand), ignition coils, candles and even lambda probes. It is very expensive to do repairs on the X6 by typing, so look for competent diagnosticians with a dealer scanner.
- The timing chain on the N54 runs differently. It is worth starting to control the stretching already from 100 thousand, but there are cars that departed with their own chain and 200 - it all depends on the style of operation.
- On the post-restyled xDrive35i, there are also supercharged sixes 3.0 of the same power (306 hp), but of a different family with the N55B30 index. Bore and stroke, as well as the compression ratio, are the same as on the N54, and direct injection has been preserved. The main differences are in the use of the Valvetronic timing system on the N55 (it simply didn’t fit on the N54), the rejection of piezo injectors in favor of electromagnetic ones, and also the rejection of a combination of two turbines in favor of one, but with two impellers - TwinScroll.
- It is interesting that electromagnetic nozzles cost about the same, but in practice they turned out to be more stable in terms of resource than piezo ones. The fuel injection pump resource is on average higher than on the N54, but also unpredictable - there are cases of its death at 120 thousand, someone drives 200+.
- On the N55, the crankcase ventilation is very intensively polluted, due to which the engine can begin to eat up oil when the piston rings are in perfect condition.
- The top xDrive50i both before and after restyling come with a 4.4-liter V8 with the N63B44 index. Like the N55, it has a twin-scroll turbo and 408 horsepower. The cylinder block here is silumin. And this is one of the most problematic engines of modern BMWs.
- Prior to 2011, the N63 had a problem with piston compression rings that sagged and leaked oil. The connecting rod bearings were also weak - they were also updated along with the crankshaft in 2011.
- All BMW engines are very heavily heat-loaded, and the N63 generally breaks all records. Coking of valves and tanning of oil scraper caps here occurs very quickly, and after reassembling the cylinder head, when reinstalling the “heads”, it is elementary to turn the threads of the delicate silumin block, which causes the joint to flow furiously. If you see smudges, things can be very bad.
- The direct injection system was constantly being refined: there are at least 3 revisions of the injection pump and 13 (!) revisions of the piezo injectors. Some of the injectors did not just stop working, but leaked mercilessly, which in the most neglected cases led to a water hammer followed by deformation of the connecting rod in one or several cylinders at once. The conclusion is simple: you need high pressure fuel pumps and injectors, preferably the latest revision.
- The VANOS phase shifters on the N63, of course, love to leak. And it can also rip off plastic casings from them and chew on the timing chain. The chain, fortunately, does not fly off from this, but lumps of plastic in the cylinder head are not the best option. Diagnostics of the operation of the couplings is required.
- Turbines on the N63 are located in the collapse of the block and work in hellish conditions at temperatures above 300 degrees. The fragility of the turbine cooling pump, as well as coking of oil inside the oil supply pipes, works to reduce their resource. As a result, the turbines overheat and run dry. The resource may not exceed 40-50 thousand.
- Against this background, the rest of the problem areas of the N63 seem to be trifles, however: the throttle valves are wedged, the temperature sensors are dying, the cooling system pipes and vacuum tubes are melting from hellish heat, and in general, everything plastic under the hood does not live very long.
- The diesel range consists of two 3.0 inline sixes. M57TU2D30 in two versions of forcing went on cars until the spring of 2010: xDrive30d (235 hp) and xDrive35d (286 hp). Then, the engine of the new N57D30OL family (245 hp) appeared on the 30d, and instead of the 35d, the xDrive40d modification appeared with a 306-horsepower N57D30TOP. All these diesels have a lot in common, even if you leave out the cylinder configuration and volume. The timing drive here is chain (approximately 200-250 thousand is the chain resource), and the nozzles are piezoelectric (they last longer than gasoline ones, 150 thousand or more). Turbines operate at gentle loads, so more than 200-250 thousand go.
- Later versions of the M57 are already free from the problem of early wear of the intake manifold flaps, and in general the engine is surprisingly reliable. On the N57, other things being equal, the high-pressure fuel pump and nozzles are more capricious in terms of fuel quality, and the crankshaft pulley with a rubber damper is also falling apart - do not forget to check.

Owners who choose a used X-sixth and find obvious signs of corrosion on it are most likely dealing with poor-quality crossover restoration after an accident.

The dissatisfaction of the owners of the BMW X6 is caused by the fact that over time, the outer frames of the windows go streaked, and cracks begin to form in the plastic shades of the optics.

The Bavarians from the heart conjured over the interior of the coupe-shaped crossover, the finishing materials are of high quality and expensive, the gaps and fit are ideal.

Everything is fine with the filling too: automatic climate control, a 6.5-inch color display as an on-board computer, the front seats are stuffed with electronics and individual settings. The sports steering wheel is wrapped in leather. The gear shifter looks stylish even today. Matte "graphite" and chrome inserts transparently hint at the sporty character of the SUV.
