How convenient it would be to open the trunk without leaving the car. Indeed, in order to get the passenger's luggage, it is often necessary to get out of the car, open the trunk, then close it again, then get back into the car and start it.
In order to correct this shortcoming, you can use three types of devices: a regular solenoid, reinforced or a special solenoid for the trunk.
A conventional solenoid may not have enough force, so it is better to choose the second or third option. Although the third one also needs to be more careful, since its dimensions may not correspond to the necessary ones.
For connection, a 3-pin “Button for opening the trunk lid 2110” is suitable, which can be easily installed in the hole to the right of the steering wheel. When the button is pressed, contacts 1 and 2 are switched, otherwise 1 and 3.
The voltage supply is regulated by a relay, which is activated after pressing a button or using a security system. It should be noted that it will not be possible to connect directly to the security system, since security systems rarely have a power output directly to the trunk lock. However, the use of a special function for opening the trunk will allow you to turn off its limit switch during opening. Thus, as soon as you close the trunk, it will be guarded again.
So, you need to connect pin 2 at the button itself to ground, and pin 3 to the output that opens the trunk.
For the manufacture of the mechanical part, you can use any piece of metal and a small bolt. Saw the plate with a file to attach part of the lock to it. When installing the lock, make sure that the cable is not too tight and that the adjustment is correct in general.

Discuss installing an electric tailgate lock on
A situation familiar to many motorists: getting into the car, starting the engine, and it became necessary to open the trunk in order to put or take something, occurs quite often. You have to turn off the engine, remove the key from the lock, get out of the car, and unlock the trunk. All this takes, though not much, but still enough time, especially when you are in a hurry to leave. In addition, I have had cases when, after opening the trunk, I forgot to lock it and noticed this a few days later.
At the same time, attackers could easily enter the interior of the car when left in the parking lot. So I decided to install a button to unlock the trunk from the electric drive.
Many modern cars have similar systems; it greatly facilitates the use of the trunk.
You can open the trunk, say in the garage, when you leave the keys at home, the lock will always be in the "closed" position, so you don't have to worry "Did I lock the trunk?".
When leaving the car in the parking lot, you can not carry the trunk key with you at all (a bunch of keys will become easier), the paintwork around the lock well will be less scratched when opened. There are many positives to be found.
To solve this problem, I needed the following items:
1. electric drive - trunk solenoid 12V - 1 pc. (350 rubles);
2. trunk button - 1 piece (50 rubles);
3. 4-pin relay 904.3747-10 - 1 pc. (50 rubles);
4. sheath for cable about 25 cm;
5. wire section 1-1.5 square meters. mm about 6-7 m.
Do-it-yourself electric drive installation
I assembled the system according to the relay-contact diagram below.It is necessary to say a few words about the features of the installation. The current surge when power is applied to the drive is about 15 A, so it is advisable to power the relay through a fuse of about 20A. I installed the trunk button in a regular hole for a carrying socket. The place is very good, because you do not need to reach far into the cabin, both when unlocking while sitting in the driver's seat, and when standing "overboard".
The relay was installed in the immediate vicinity of the button under the dashboard on the inside of the left wing of the car. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to take a good photo. But you can get an idea of the installation site.
I ran the wire from the relay to the electric drive under the carpeted door sills. Then through the rack of the rear left wing, passed through the rubber corrugation with the help of a rigid "wire sinker", then through the inner cavity of the tailgate to the niche under the spoiler.
At the electric drive I got, the fastening was carried out on the "legs", so I had to make a bracket from a galvanized strip of not complex design (only one of its three planes is visible in the photo). The drive cable was passed through the shell and attached to the eye of the latch of the lock, while changing the direction of the force by an angle close to 90 degrees (this is what the shell is for!).
The free end of the shell must be rigidly fixed; for this, a bracket was made with holes for attaching to the wiper gearmotor and one hole for attaching the free end of the shell. It must be said that the fixation of the drive to the body should be carried out last, with the maximum removal of the latter from the latch of the lock, taking into account the working stroke of the drive rod. Everything worked for me from the first press without jamming and other problems ... The final result looks like this:
I put a loop under the right nut of the lock latch and got a handle for closing the trunk:
The thing is not very necessary, but convenient. Parallel to the button, I connected an additional signaling channel to control the remote unlocking of the trunk, which made the system more perfect and made it possible to unlock the trunk through the key fob without disarming the car ... The latter improves the performance of the alarm system. I think there are a lot of positive moments from such a homemade product ...
