The Volvo concern presented its new development - the V90 Cross Country car. It will replace the XC70 model and complement the 90-Series station wagon line. The novelty has two competitors: the Audi A6 Allroad, offered in Russia for an amount of 3,795,000 rubles or more, and the Mercedes All-Terrain, whose deliveries are expected this spring. The cost of the latter starts from 3,990,000 rubles.

The engine range of the new station wagon includes four 2.0-liter Drive-E series power plants. These are two diesel and two petrol engines, paired with an 8-band transmission. The base diesel is also compatible with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The best dynamics is shown by the version with a 320 hp petrol unit. With a maximum speed of 240 km / h to hundreds, it accelerates in 6.3 s. The most economical is the junior diesel unit. It consumes 5.1 and 5.2 liters of fuel with manual and automatic transmissions, respectively. Up to a hundred, this engine accelerates the car in 8.8 s.
90-Series station wagons have a single SPA chassis . It includes suspension struts and double wishbones at the front, and a multi-link design with a composite leaf spring at the rear. The novelty received an adapted version of this chassis. The Drive Mode system, in addition to the economical, comfortable and individual driving styles used for the standard version of the V90, provides an additional off-road mode. The car is equipped with all-wheel drive with a BorgWarner clutch. In the normal state, the thrust is fed to the front axle, but it can also be evenly distributed to both axles.

The head part of the station wagon looks quite massive and charismatic: a powerful sloping hood with longitudinal punching beams, stylish head optics of a non-standard shape with T-shaped running lights, a large radiator grille.
