The line of engines of the Czech crossover includes five power units. The range of gasoline engines is as follows:
- 1.4 TSI 125 HP (200 Nm);
- 1.4 TSI 150 hp (250 Nm);

- 2.0 TDI 150 HP (340 Nm);

Four engines will be available in Russia - all but the most powerful 2.0 TDI 190 hp diesel engine. Transmissions include a 6-speed manual, as well as a 6 or 7-band DSG “robots”. The drive is either front or full connected based on the Haldex coupling.

Starting from 2018, the production of the model will be launched at the plant in Nizhny Novgorod, which will expand the number of layout options.
In terms of luggage space, the new Skoda Kodiak is one of the leaders in the segment. With a five-seat configuration, the cargo compartment of the SUV is ready to accommodate 650 liters, and with the rear seats folded down - all 2065 liters. The seven-seat version has a slightly more modest capacity: the base 270 liters can be transformed into a maximum of 2005 liters.
In addition to the standard suspension (front MacPherson strut and rear multi-link), the crossover can be equipped with an adaptive DCC chassis.

Skoda KODIAQ 2018-2019 model year is a full-size crossover with a ground clearance increased to 187 mm, a spacious 5-seater interior and a record luggage compartment volume (2065 liters with the seats folded in the second row). The ability to install seats in the third row allows you to transform the car into a 7-seater.

Skoda Kodiak is equipped with powerful economical engines 1.4 (125- or 150-horsepower) or 2.0 (150- or 180-horsepower) with a maximum torque (depending on modification) from 200 to 320 Nm. As a fuel, the car uses gasoline (octane rating - at least 95) and diesel (unit with a volume of 2.0 and a power of 150 hp).

“Simply Smart” is the slogan of the Czech concern, and it is most suitable for a definition stuffed with “smart” options for the new representative of Skoda, the first seven-seat crossover, called Kodiaq.
Literally all the constructive and design solutions, as well as the parameters of the technical characteristics of the Skoda Kodiak, starting from large dimensions (for example, its length is about 4.7 m).

Engines
As for the power plants of the Skoda Kodiak, or as it is also called Kodiak, these are two versions of a four-cylinder engine with different volumetric parameters, either 1.395 or 1.984 liters.
These volumetric performance characteristics are usually rounded off and they are indicated in the designation, for example, if for a gasoline turbo engine, then 1.4 sti, and if a turbodiesel is meant, then 2.0 tdi.
As for gasoline engines, the fuel for them is gasoline not lower than the 95th octane number.
The engines can be adapted with either 6-speed manual or dsg robotic PP gearboxes, which have both 6 and 7 speed modes.
The clutch of the crossover can be of two types: in its cheapest configuration it is a single-disk driven by hydraulics, in the expensive one it is a double-disk with electro-hydraulics.
Petrol
It should be noted that both 7 and 5 local, as well as all-wheel drive and front-wheel drive versions of crossovers are produced, so they have their own power plant configurations. In total, there are 5 modifications of gasoline engines.
At the same time, 4 of them have a working volume of 1.4, and one modification - 2.0 liters.
Power options are 125, 150, and 180 hp. The maximum speed parameters of the crossover, which are provided by these capacities, are in the range from 190 to 206 km. at one o'clock. At the same time, a gasoline consumption of 6 liters corresponds to a 125-horsepower engine, and 7.3 is a consumption per hundred of a 180-horsepower engine.

The year 2018 for the Russians who decided to change their car to the new Skoda Kodiak will be significant in terms of the fact that three versions of the SUV are scheduled to be released on the Nizhny Novgorod conveyor Skoda in the first quarter, taking into account the wishes of our brother-car enthusiast.

The Czech crossover is built on a modified platform MQB- on the same architecture as the second generation Volkswagen Tiguan, respectively, Kodiaq has similar technical characteristics. In Europe, the crossover is available from five motors: three petrol and two diesel. In the basic version, the front-wheel drive SUV will receive a unit 1.4 TSI (125 hp) and six-speed "mechanics". In more expensive versions, the all-wheel drive Kodiaq will be equipped with 1.4 liter supercharged motor ( 150 HP) and DSG6. Top petrol engine 2.0 liter"turbo four" power 180 HP, which only works with the DSG7 robotic box.
Initial diesel versions (front-wheel drive) will receive 2.0 liter unit (150 HP) paired with DSG6. The same motor is sold with a different firmware ( 190 HP), but will only be equipped with an all-wheel drive transmission and DSG7.
IN Russia so far, only three engines have been presented: two petrol 1.4 (150 hp) and 2.0 (180 hp) and a 2-liter diesel engine with 150 hp. In 2018, with the start of assembly in Russia, the base 1.4 with 125 hp will also appear. with front wheel drive.

Kodiak has the option of a third row of seats, but even in the basic version, the second row will be equipped with many adjustments, both longitudinal and backrest tilt.
They promise to fill the Czech novelty with a lot of "smart gadgets" that bring this model to a new level. A multimedia system with a screen from 6.5 to 8 inches, a Wi-Fi sharing function, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, LTE support, remote car tuning - this is far from the final list of electronics that make driving a pleasure. On the day when all schoolchildren went to school on the first day, September 1, 2016, an automobile company from the Czech Republic, in the German city of Berlin, officially demonstrated its new mid-size Skoda Kodiak SUV. The car itself has body overhangs, in front this figure is 898 mm, and in the rear 1,009 mm. There is also a sloping roofline, a compact rear and square wheel arches that can accommodate light alloy rollers from 17 to 19 inches.
The appearance of the wheels was designed specifically for the Kodiaq model. The serial variation has standard exterior rear-view mirrors and door handles. The bonnet, along with the body panels and side doors, captivates with its simplicity of lines and at the same time the elegance of its forms.
Stylish roof rails, perfectly complement the design of the car, although they do not stand out much. There are beautiful stampings on the doors, so you can’t call the car boring. The back of the Skoda Kodiak attracts with the presence of faceted, like pieces of rock crystal, rear lights with a C-shaped configuration.
According to some sources, LED filling on the rear lights will already be installed even in the basic configuration of the car. In addition to optics, we can note the presence of an impressive rectangular tailgate, which provides easy access to the trunk, and a rear bumper, which has received a simple shape. The rear door has a rather unusual shape, because it is “cut” by narrow headlights.
Interior
The development department decided to equip the brand new car as tightly as possible. But this did not affect the pricing policy much, because the price is quite affordable, especially if you compare the car with classmates. And it seems that such a solution has found success. Looking at the interior of Kodiak 2017-2018, you feel German pedantry. Interior design was carried out in a strict style.
In front of the driver, a comfortable dashboard and a pleasant-to-touch steering wheel with a heating function were placed. Various controls with different functions are located logically, intuitively and nearby, there are no complaints about the assembly at all. Interior trim was made from high quality materials.
Armchairs installed in front have good lateral support. Both in the base and for extra money, the car has various technical innovations, which make using a crossover more convenient, enjoyable, easy and safe. To choose from, various options for entertainment systems will be provided, where there is a touch screen display, in which control of the navigation system, wireless communication, all-round visibility cameras and other options is available.
In addition to the basic audio system, you can also install expensive Canton acoustics, which comes with 10 speakers, the total power of which is 575 watts. On top of that, you can set the presence of 2- or 3-zone climate control, electric seat adjustments installed in front with the option of memory, ventilation and heating, electronic assistants for trailer transportation, various security systems, adaptive cruise control, control systems for road signs and controlling the level of driver fatigue.
The Czech-made car also has an electromechanical parking brake. The interior of Skoda Kodiak 2017-2018 came out really big. The volume of the luggage compartment of the Skoda Kodiak is equal to a solid 720 liters, with the rear two seats folded down. It will not be superfluous to note that the 2nd row of seats can move in a horizontal direction by 18 cm.
If you fold it too, as a result, you will have a luggage compartment with 2,065 liters of usable space. According to company representatives, the maximum length of the transported cargo is 2.8 meters, which is very impressive.
Therefore, the luggage compartment of the Skoda Kodiak 2017-2018 is actually huge, like the cabin itself. As a separate option, you can install the function of opening the luggage compartment with a wave of the foot in the rear bumper area.

Next comes the TSI gasoline power unit, with a volume of 2.0 liters with an exhaust manifold built into the aluminum cylinder block, combined power supply, a turbine and phase shifters on 2 camshafts. It already produces about 180 horsepower.
It transmits torque to the wheels through a 7-speed DSG and an all-wheel drive system. 7.8 seconds, exactly how long it will take the car to reach the mark of 100 km / h, and the top speed will be 206 km / h. It consumes about 7.3 liters of gasoline in the combined cycle.
diesel engine There are also diesel engines. For example, a 2.0-liter turbocharged direct-fed Common Rail and gas distribution mechanism for 16 valves. The starting version develops 150 horses, and a more powerful variation 190. The 150-horsepower engine is equipped with a 6-speed manual, or a 7-band “robot” with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The 190-horsepower model already comes only with an automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
Its maximum speed will be at the level of 194 - 210 km / h. The first hundred will be reached in 8.6 - 10.0 seconds. Diesel fuel consumption will be between 5 and 5.7 liters per 100 km in the combined cycle. There is an energy recovery system and a Start/Stop function.
Transmission
The all-wheel drive system is implemented on the Kodiak according to the standard scheme for crossovers - the 5th generation electronically controlled Haldex hydraulic multi-plate clutch supplies power to the rear wheels. When conditions are favorable, 100% of torque goes to the front, and when the situation on the road changes, traction will be automatically distributed between the axles.
Despite the fact that the car has an all-wheel drive system and there is a pretty decent ride height, the off-road performance of the car is not the best plan. For example, the angles of entry and exit of the Czech crossover are no more than 22 and 23 degrees.
Chassis
As a base for the Skoda Kodiak, there is an MQB front-wheel drive base and independent suspension on all axles, where McPherson struts go in front, and a 4-link system with transverse stabilizers “in a circle” in the back. The maximum version of the novelty has an adaptive suspension Dynamic Classis Control with several variations of functioning - Normal, Sport and Comfort (and all-wheel drive versions also have an off-road mode). The rear part has nothing supernatural, except for unusual lamps of lanterns. Small overhangs to face the crossover.
Inside the car you will not find sophistication and luxury, but everything is of high quality, pleasant and in its place. Decent fit. I was pleasantly surprised by the convenient instrument panel and the center console, which has a color screen. Everything is simple, but in its place and intuitive. The front seats are quite comfortable and have good lateral support.
There is a lot of free space on the second row and three people can sit there, but people sitting on the sides will feel more comfortable. The third row can even accommodate a couple of adults. The luggage compartment has a good supply of volume, which, if necessary, can be increased by folding the third row and the backs of the second row of seats.
The power units, although not the same as sports cars, perform their tasks well and an almost 2-ton car moves briskly on the road. It is worth noting the low fuel consumption. The all-wheel drive system will make you feel more confident on the road, especially when its quality suffers.
The company did not forget about the introduction of various systems and assistants that help the driver in driving. In its confident place, ensuring the proper level of safety not only for the driver, but also for the passengers sitting next to him. Even the basic equipment has a decent list of options, which is very appropriate.
