Already at the beginning of 2018, connoisseurs of Japanese quality will be able to get acquainted with the new generation of the Infiniti QX50 compact crossover (photo below) - even more attractive, durable and safe.
The premiere of the car took place at the end of November 2017 at an exhibition in Los Angeles. Recently, this is a normal phenomenon: European manufacturers (BMW and Volkswagen) hold presentations of new developments in the rapidly developing South Asian region, while the Asians themselves prefer, without delaying expansion, to immediately introduce their products to the target audience. For Infiniti, these are Europeans and residents of the USA and Canada. In addition, there is experience in the implementation of crossovers of the Ku X 50 line in South Korea, China and the Middle East, and more recently in the countries of the former USSR. It should immediately be clarified: Infiniti is not a car manufacturer, but a subsidiary of the Japanese Nissan, created in 1985 in the strictest secrecy.
The main goal pursued by Nissan - to squeeze local manufacturers in the North American and European markets - was achieved, although relatively slowly. Since 2001, Infiniti's total US sales have never dropped below 81,000 vehicles per year. As for the Ku X 50 model, everything is not so simple with it: during the first year after the release date, sales growth was more than 4000%, and then steadily declined. It currently stands at 5,000-10,000 first-generation crossovers a year.
It is quite possible that with the release of the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 premium compact crossover (photo below), the sales situation will improve, because we are not talking about another (even if the most successful) restyling, but about a completely redesigned concept of the famous car.
The QX marking, introduced in 2013, is used by the manufacturer for crossovers and SUVs of the Infiniti brand; for Nissan coupes, convertibles and sedans, only the letter Q is used. The digital value, unlike the original idea, no longer indicates the volume of the installed engine, but the serial number of the car in the model range, although in this case it was not without oddities. In particular, for a compact crossover, the names Ku X 50 and QX30 are used, while for a mid-size one - QX70, and for a full-size one - QX60.
The 2018 Infiniti QX50 (pictured below) will be built, like the previous generation, on Nissan's versatile FX platform. Not only European and American, but also Japanese drivers will be able to enjoy the novelty, but already under the original name - Nissan Skyline.
As before, Nissan is going to win the favor of overseas buyers with the quality of the running gear of the car, the variety of offered body colors and the use of exclusively high-quality materials in the interior design, including natural leather (in improved trim levels - suede) and stained maple of a noble shade.
The color scheme of the body of the new crossover includes seven tones:
- cream (Majestic White, QAB);
- gray (Graphite Shadow, KAD);
- silver-platinum (Liquid Platinum, K23);
- black (Black Obsidian, KH3);
- burgundy (Midnight Garnet, NAB);
- pomegranate (Malbec Black, GAC);
- gray-blue (Hagane Blue, RBP).

The buyer will not have to rely on a variety of rims - Nissan provides only two types: 19- and 20-inch tires for 235/55 and 255/45, respectively. True, the manufacturer makes up for the lack of variability with the highest quality of products: even the basic equipment of the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 (photo below) will be equipped with full-fledged alloy wheels.
The priority environment for the Infiniti Ku X 50 is the city: a small crossover is unlikely to cope not only with a forest path or water obstacle, but even with a not very well-groomed rural road. This, however, does not mean that it is impossible to drive a new car outside the city limits: the main thing is to correctly plan the outing route so that you do not subsequently apply for urgent maintenance.
The 2018 Infiniti QX50 is an ideal choice for above-average car enthusiasts who are willing to pay not only for high performance and extremely comfortable crossover interior, but also for a representative appearance that instantly distinguishes the Ku X 50 from the mass of standard, average vehicles.
The QX50 is, after all, first and foremost a luxury. Whether there is a need for it, each buyer will decide for himself, and the following brief description of the appearance, interior and equipment options of the compact crossover will help you make the right decision.
Infiniti Ku X 50 - appearance (exterior photo)
The appearance of the 2018 Infiniti QX50 (photo below) is evidence of the commitment of Japanese designers to a concept chosen a long time ago, as far as possible from European ideas about body geometry. Here you can not find strictly perpendicular lines running throughout their entire length without kinks and bends. Smooth outlines give the body of the new Infiniti Ku X 50 the lack of dynamism and some aggressiveness that most American and European models lack, which, however, causes only admiration in the observer without any negative emotions.
It seems a little strange that developers from Japan have decided to follow in the footsteps of their Chinese and South Korean counterparts, replacing the “normal” radiator grille and air intake with a coarse mesh, in total divided into four parts:
- on top in the center - a radiator grill with a chrome trim and a huge brand emblem (a road directed into the distance);
- bottom in the center - an air intake in the form of a regular trapezoid;
- on the sides, left and right in the L-shaped recesses of the hood - small additional air intake compartments.
The 2018 Infiniti QX50's open-celled nose structure greatly weakens the crossover's stability in a frontal collision, and there is little hope for a short metal protection below. However, the manufacturer, as can be seen from the photo, provided for the possibility of installing enhanced protection for an additional fee. Such a way out of the situation can be recommended to all owners of the Infiniti Ku X 50, without exception, even to those who are not going to leave the city or on dangerous sections of the road.
Apparently, the "urban" priority of the miniature crossover is also due to Nissan's decision to practically deprive the protection of the small fog lights, which are located at the bottom of the bumper. It cannot be assumed that the upper and lower protrusions of a fancy body will provide decent protection for rectangular foglights - the driver can only rely on his own experience and prudence.
The headlights of the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 (photo below), which are triangular branches from the radiator grill, also lack external protection: their own stiffening ribs are responsible for the safety of navigation lights.
Depending on the configuration, front xenon or LED headlights can be installed on the Infiniti Ku X 50; all rear optics are assembled from high quality LEDs. For timely cleaning of dust and dirt, the front lights are equipped with retractable washers.
The magnificent frontal view of the new crossover is completed by a complexly stamped hood cover with two stiffening ribs diverging towards the windshield, the line of which flows into chrome-plated side mirrors with turn signal repeaters.
The side view of the car (photo below) pleasantly surprises with nice decorative “sills” along the lower edge of the body. The side doors of the 2018 Infiniti QX50 are adorned with deep trapezoidal stamping, which at the edges turns into bulges of muscular wheel arches, visually giving the body massiveness. The wheel arches - almost square in shape, ideal for the wheel and tire sizes listed above - are finished in black plastic, giving the gaps between the tires and the body extra depth.
The line of side windows of the Infiniti Ku X 50, the apparent continuity of which is achieved by using jumpers to match the glass, is equipped with a chrome frame along the edges. All crossover glasses protect people in the cabin from harmful ultraviolet radiation; the windshield tint is greenish to allow the driver to focus on the track, while the rear passenger windows are moderately tinted.
The sloping roof and rails closed from the outside suggest the only option for placing cargo on top of the Infiniti Ku X 50 - with the help of a “top trunk”, which is a separate accessory. The new crossover, at the request of the buyer, is equipped with a wide panoramic roof or a sliding electric sunroof. The products are made of tempered glass, which protects passengers and the driver from too intense sunlight, and therefore makes driving truly safe.
Behind the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 (photo below) is a narrow one-piece tailgate, equipped with a massive windshield wiper and an outstanding spoiler with LED repeater.
An interesting decision by Nissan was the longitudinal placement of narrow marker lights located in the side niches of the rear bumper. Three-dimensional taillights of predominantly red light occupy almost half of the “stern” of the new Infiniti Ku X 50, going both to the tailgate and to the sides of the body.
The rear bumper of the crossover, unlike the front one, is equipped with a massive protection that prevents serious harm to the health of rear passengers even in a direct collision. At the bottom of the car are exhaust pipes half-integrated into the bumper, framed by chrome-plated trapezoids.
The rear window of the 2018 Infiniti QX50, as well as the side windows adjacent to it, is tinted for the convenience of passengers and is also equipped with an electric heater with a timer, which allows you to prepare for the trip in advance without wasting time on “thawing” the crossover.
The sophisticated configuration of the Infiniti Ku X 50's tapering back cabin not only gives the car a sophisticated look, but also opens up additional visibility for the side mirrors: the driver can confidently move even on a busy highway without fear of "blind spots".

The inside view of the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 (photo below) is restrained and elegant, as befits a premium crossover. In the cabin, despite the small size of the body of the car, five adults can fit without any inconvenience, given the driver. Passengers who decide to sit at the back will be pleased with the most comfortable “sofa” of an anatomical shape, which eliminates pain in the spine or leg muscles even after several hours of driving on uneven surfaces.
If necessary, the “sofa” turns into two autonomous chairs, separated by a wide armrest with cup holders. In this case, the rear seats can move along the "rails", which guarantees comfort for passengers of any height and build.
All seats, both rear and front, are equipped with manually adjustable wide headrests, heating and ventilation; the front ones, in addition, - with ultra-reliable lateral support and an eight-position electric drive. Massage options are not provided in the basic configuration of the Infiniti Ku X 50, however, with the general level of seat comfort, even the most demanding passengers can easily do without it.
The designers of the 2018 Infiniti QX50 decided to leave the traditional speedometer and tachometer wells on the crossover dashboard, placing a 5-inch on-board computer screen between them. It displays up-to-date information about the car:
- readings of precipitation, lighting and tire pressure sensors;
- information about the health of the chassis;
- route;
- current time and date;
- information about the temperature inside the cabin.
For greater driver convenience, the steering wheel is equipped with control buttons and, as an additional feature, a convenient gear lever. Driving comfort, among other things, is provided by a steering block adjustable in length and angle, and reliable grip with hands is guaranteed by a leather braid and an anatomical shape of the inner surface of the steering wheel.
The driver's area (photo below) is separated from the passenger area by a high central tunnel. The effect of zoning, in addition, is created by a two-color upholstery passing through the tunnel up to the lower touch screen (there are two of them in the new crossover - the upper one, the smaller one, the large lower one).
On the driver's side, additionally protected by a ledge, there is a gear lever, a drive mode selection washer (eco-friendly, sporty, standard and individual). In front of the tunnel there is a convenient niche for charging USB devices (the manufacturer provides two connectors in total) and one 12-volt outlet.
A common large niche for small items and mobile devices, stretching along the entire tunnel, is closed by a panel and a common armrest. In the same niche of the 2018 Infiniti QX50 are dual cup holders.
Admiring the luxurious interior of the new Infiniti Ku X, one cannot help but pay attention to the common front armrest, the slope of which allows both the driver and the passenger to place their hands with maximum comfort.
The real decoration of the interior of the new crossover is the central panel (photo below) with two 7-inch touchscreens:
- Data is displayed on the upper rectangular:
- navigation system;
- security systems;
- cruise control;
- climate control.
- The lower one, almost square, is integrated with:
- Hi-Fi HDD Bose multimedia system (AM/FM radio, 6-disc CD player, playback of audio and video files, adjusting the sound level to vehicle speed);
- communication complex with devices based on Android and iOS;
- "assistant" driver with the function of recognition of gestures and voice commands;
- system for receiving/rejecting incoming voice calls and text messages.
In addition to touch control, a standard one, more familiar to a domestic driver, is also possible: through the keys located on both sides of the bottom screen.
The panoramic roof of the Infiniti Ku X 50 (photo below) will help provide free access to the interior of natural sunlight that is good for the eyes. And during a stop, the new crossover can be ventilated using a power sliding sunroof.
And, of course, in the evening and at night, neither the driver nor the passengers will suffer from a lack of lighting: soft peripheral light and several point sources will allow not only to control instrument readings and follow the road, but also to read a book or work with a laptop (tablet or smartphone).
The rear “sofa”, if necessary, to increase the capacity of the luggage compartment of the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 folds completely horizontally. In the future, after unloading the transported items, the owner of the crossover can raise both seats automatically - using a special button.

The new Infiniti Ku X 50 has undergone changes in all three dimensions:
- the length of the Infiniti QX50 is now 4.70 m, having decreased by 0.05 m;
- the new width of the car is 1.90 m (according to this dimension, the crossover has grown by 0.10 m);
- the height also increased by 0.06 m and is equal to 1.70 m;
- wheelbase length, reduced by Nissan by 0.08 m, - 2.80 m;
- clearance - 21.8 cm.
The most serious inconvenience that the owner of the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 will face is the cramped luggage compartment, which, with the rear seats up, can hold only 355 liters. Having folded the entire “sofa”, the driver will additionally free up about 1000 liters for the overall load. And do not forget that items that do not fit into the interior of a mini-crossover can be securely fixed on the roof of the car.

Both four-wheel drive and front-wheel drive vehicles will be equipped with an eight-position automatic transmission, allowing acceleration to 100 km / h:

The updated Infinity Q50 appeared before the general public at the International Spring Geneva Motor Show in March 2017. The model is the first planned and not very deep restyling. The novelty has stylish elongated headlights with lint optics and LED "cilia". The radiator grille is made in the corporate style and flaunts the manufacturer's logo. It consists of many diagonal intersecting ribs and chrome trim along the contour. Below, on the front bumper, there is a rectangular air intake, also covered with a plastic mesh. On the sides of it, you can see special recesses with round fog lamps and garlands of LED lights. Overall, the car has received a few minor cosmetic changes and has not lost its family traits.

Infiniti Ku50 is a four-door D class sedan. Its overall dimensions are: length 4790 mm, width 1820 mm, height 1445 mm, and the wheelbase is 2850 mm. The ground clearance of the Infinity Q50 is 130 millimeters. This ground clearance is typical for vehicles designed for active driving. They hold the road perfectly, remain stable even at high speeds, and most importantly, are less prone to roll over, thanks to the low center of gravity.
Trunk Infinity Q50 can please a good size. The three-volume body is able to offer up to 500 liters of free space. Thanks to this spaciousness, the car can easily cope with the daily tasks of a city dweller and at any time be able to embark on a long trip with several passengers on board and an abundance of luggage.

In the domestic market, the Infinity Q50 is equipped with two engines, automatic transmissions, and rear or all-wheel drive. Thanks to the wide range and balance of units, the car copes with its tasks perfectly and is able to satisfy most of the needs of a potential buyer.
- The base Infinity Q50 is equipped with a 1991 cubic centimeter in-line turbocharged petrol four. Thanks to the turbocharger, it develops 211 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 320 Nm of torque in the range from 1250 to 3500 rpm of the crankshaft. In this configuration, the sedan accelerates to hundreds in 7.3 seconds, and the maximum speed, in turn, is 245 kilometers per hour. The fuel consumption of the Infiniti Ku50 will be 9.3 liters of gasoline per hundred at an urban pace of movement with frequent acceleration and braking, 5.7 liters during a measured trip along a country road and 7 liters of fuel per hundred in a mixed driving cycle.
- The top versions boast a V-shaped turbocharged gasoline six with a volume of 2997 cubic centimeters. Thanks to a good displacement and two turbochargers, the engineers managed to squeeze out 405 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 475 Nm of torque in the range from 1600 to 5200 rpm of the crankshaft. With such a herd under the hood, the sedan takes off from zero to hundreds in 5.4 seconds, and the top speed is electronically limited to 250 kilometers per hour. Despite the high power and amazing dynamics, the car is relatively economical. The fuel consumption of the Infinity Q50 will be 13.3 liters of gasoline per hundred at the urban pace of movement, 7 liters on the highway and 9.3 liters in the combined driving cycle.

The Infinity Q50 keeps up with the times. It has a stylish and dynamic design that perfectly emphasizes the character and status of its owner. Such a car will not dissolve in the gray everyday traffic and will not get lost in the large parking lot of the shopping center. Salon is a realm of high-quality finishing materials, well-balanced ergonomics and uncompromising comfort. Even a long trip will not be able to deliver even the slightest inconvenience. The manufacturer is well aware that, first of all, the car should give pleasure from driving. That is why the sedan is equipped with an excellent line of units, which are an alloy of innovative technologies and unsurpassed Japanese quality. Infinity Q50 will last for many kilometers and will give unforgettable emotions from every trip.

In 2014, on the catwalks of the New York Auto Show, Infiniti introduced the new Q70 business class sedan (as well as its long-wheelbase version, the Q70L). But it’s not entirely fair to classify the car as a novelty, because in fact it’s just an updated fourth-generation three-volume Infiniti M, which has long been available in Russia, which has received a new name.
The exterior design of the Infiniti Q70 is made in the corporate style of the Japanese premium brand. In the features of the sedan, a sporty image is instantly visible. The front of the car looks bright and aggressive due to the slightly “frowning” head optics with bi-xenon filling. Relationship with other models of the brand gives chrome grille and embossed hood. The front bumper is topped by a large air intake and fog lamps with chrome surrounds.
The silhouette of the premium sedan is swift and dynamic, and the most noticeable details are the roof falling to the stern, the long hood, the “inflated” wheel arches that accommodate 18-inch wheels (two inches larger in the top versions), as well as the characteristic “rib”, stretching from the front to the rear optics along the entire length of the body.
The stern of the Infiniti Q70 looks massive and solid, and the sporty character of the car is emphasized by a embossed bumper with two chrome-plated exhaust pipes (located symmetrically), a small spoiler on the edge of the trunk lid and stylish optics with LEDs.
The length of the Japanese three-volume is 4945 mm, height - 1500 mm, width - 1845 mm. From the front to the rear axle, the Q70 has a distance of 2900 mm, and its ground clearance is 149 mm (for all-wheel drive versions - 145 mm). The long-wheelbase version differs only in the overall length of the body and the size of the wheelbase - 5130 mm and 3050 mm, respectively.
Inside, the Infiniti Q70 fully justifies its status as a premium car - the interior is endowed with a solid and elegant design. Smooth curves of the front panel and a furnished chest of drawers with the keyboard of the multimedia complex exposed forward - such solutions can be found on almost all models of the brand. The instrument panel is visually simple, but in fact it is quite modern and pleasant to read (although the on-board computer menu with a monochrome display is not Russified).
The center console protrudes a little into the cabin, and at first glance it is too overloaded with buttons (but it’s not difficult to figure them out). A seven-inch color display is right in front of your eyes, but all functions are controlled through a proprietary keyboard. Below you can see the audio control unit (depending on the level of equipment, its component is different). Well, the most unusual element of the interior is a stylish analog clock.
The atmosphere of luxury and comfort is created due to the high level of equipment and the abundance of soft panels. The interior of the premium sedan is trimmed with high-quality and expensive leather and natural wood (Japanese ash), and the center console has aluminum decorative inserts.
The Infiniti Q70 has comfortable front seats with expressive lateral support, electric adjustments and heating (in expensive versions - with ventilation). There is enough space for passengers of any physique, from the amenities - a wide central armrest. A soft sofa is installed for the rear passengers, however, due to the high transmission tunnel, only two can sit comfortably (although the third will not be superfluous, but only for short trips). Depending on the level of equipment, second-row riders are provided with such bells and whistles as a multimedia system (screens are integrated into the headrests of the front seats), individual control of the microclimate and the volume of “music”. As for the long-wheelbase version, it offers royal scope for people sitting in the back (you can easily throw one leg over the other).
The volume of the luggage compartment of the premium three-volume is exactly 500 liters. However, uneven walls and heavily protruding wheel arches make it not very convenient to use (the opening is too narrow in the depth of the compartment). Under the raised floor, there was only a place for a spare wheel-dokatka.
Specifications. Three gasoline engines are installed on the Infiniti Q70. Each of them is combined with a non-alternative 7-band automatic transmission with DS sport mode.
The role of the base engine is performed by a 2.5-liter V-shaped “six” with the factory designation VQ25HR, which generates 222 horsepower and 253 Nm of maximum torque (directed exclusively to the rear wheels). The dynamics of such a sedan cannot be called impressive - the first 100 km / h obey it after 9.2 seconds, and the maximum performance is limited to 231 km / h. But at the same time, he needs a lot of fuel: in the city - 13.3 liters, on the highway - 7.9 liters, in mixed mode - 9.9 liters (for every 100 km).
The next two units are equipped with an ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive transmission with a multi-plate clutch in the front wheel drive. In standard modes, all thrust is fed to the rear wheels, and in the event of their slipping, up to 50% of the moment can be directed to the front axle.
The intermediate engine is a 3.7-liter V6 (factory index VQ37VHR) with a VVEL throttleless carburetion system, producing 333 “horses” and 363 Nm of thrust. It provides a heavy sedan acceleration to the first hundred in just 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 246 km / h. Fuel consumption per 100 km in the combined cycle is 10.9 liters (15.3 liters in city mode, 8.4 liters on the highway).
The flagship is the VK56VD eight-cylinder unit (the cylinders are arranged in a V-shape) with a working volume of 5.6 liters and a power of 408 horsepower, which develops 550 Nm of torque. With this engine, the Infiniti Q70 conquers 100 km / h after 5.3 seconds, developing a maximum of 250 km / h. For every 100 km of run, the premium sedan “eats” 12.5 liters of gasoline in mixed mode, 18.7 liters when driving around the city and 8.9 liters on a suburban highway.
At the heart of the Infiniti QX70 is the “trolley” FM (Front Midship), which means the engine is shifted as far as possible within the wheelbase for better weight distribution along the axles. The doors, hood and trunk lid are made of aluminum, but the curb weight of the car is still high - from 1680 to 1855 kg, depending on the modification. The double wishbone front suspension of the Q70 is made entirely of aluminum (particularly the stub axle and subframe), the rear multi-link design has a steel subframe and aluminum transverse and trailing arms and stabilizer bar. The premium sedan is equipped with a brake system with ventilated discs and a 4-channel anti-lock system all around. Very often, the Geneva Motor Show presents us with beautiful cars, concepts, sports cars and many others. Here, the Japanese company Infiniti introduced its new crossover Infiniti QX30 2018-2019. The show was held here because it's more prestigious, which might work better for sales.

Design
The appearance of the car received the classic Japanese style of this company, it is easy to recognize it in the stream if you understand. It was decided to use the German platform from. Despite this, the cars still differ in design, there are few similar elements.

The trunk is excellent, the shape of the body provides the most convenient loading. Its volume is 430 liters, there is a hatch for skis and the ability to fold the seats of the Infiniti QX30 2018. The volume after folding the seats will increase to 780 liters.

Information about the power units was known even when the concept was shown. Now the crossover has two engines, one petrol and one diesel. They do not differ in high power, but at the same time the model rides quite well.
- The first engine is more powerful, it is a 16-valve direct injection turbo unit. With a volume of 2 liters, it produces 211 horsepower and 350 units of torque. 7.3 seconds to hundreds, 230 km / h top speed, 9 liters of consumption in the city, the performance is quite good.
- The second engine of the QX30 2019 is a 2.1-liter turbo diesel. It has 170 horsepower and 350 H*m of torque. The dynamics are worse by 1 second, the maximum speed is less by 15 km / h. But this engine perfectly saves your money, because it needs only 6 liters of diesel fuel every hundred kilometers. This unit was borrowed from a Mercedes GLA.
Both engines comply with Euro-6 standards, both will receive all-wheel drive. As a pair for each motor, a 7-speed 7G-DCT robotic gearbox is provided with excellent gear shifting. Four-wheel drive All-Wheel Drive is intelligent, the car is front-wheel drive, the rear wheels are connected if necessary.
Suspension Infiniti QX30 2018 is not the most difficult, but comfortable enough. MacPherson is used in front, a multi-link scheme is installed in the back. The Japanese used their own shock absorbers, which had a better effect on the handling of the model.
