But not everything is so clear. A high alkaline number, it turns out, in certain cases, instead of good, brings tangible harm. For this reason, the replacement of such a MM should be done much more often - approximately every 7-7.5 thousand kilometers;
  • overheating of the motor is another reason why the oil in the engine darkens much faster. Such consequences are caused by the operation of the car in an aggressive mode with prolonged increased loads. The cause of overheating may be a coolant leak, as well as a malfunction of the thermostat or water pump, the occurrence of air plugs in the cooling system line.

Please note that oils with a low base number require more frequent replacement, approximately every 6-7 thousand kilometers. They are very sensitive to fuel quality and lose their properties faster.

The crankcase is filled with fake oil. Unfortunately, at present this problem is very relevant, because almost all popular brands of oils are clandestinely produced fakes. Given this feature, then the widespread assertion that high-quality car oil should practically not darken in the first 3-5 thousand kilometers after replacement is a profound delusion.
