Description of the fuse box in Renault Megane. Where Renault Megane is assembled for our market What Renault Megane looks like in our assembly

Renault Megane was originally conceived as a small family car of the “C” segment. It appeared on our market back in the nineties, and has since changed several generations. The most iconic of these was the Renault Megane II, which became a five-door. Now only the third modification of the Renault Megane III hatchback is supplied to the Russian market.

Let's look at the technical characteristics of the car and where Renault Megane is assembled for our consumer.

Foreign factories that make Renault Megane

Until recently, the Renault Megane hatchback was assembled at only three factories. They were in France, Turkey and Spain. As you know, the most powerful enterprise is located in the city of Douai in France. But, these models did not enter our market. The second in terms of build quality is the plant in Valencia, in Spain. From there we also saw a few lots. For our consumer, mainly Turkish assemblers worked.

Throughout the year, the car was assembled in Russia, but our production “did not reach” European standards. Therefore, it was stopped.

Last year, Renault Megane began to be assembled in Russia at the Avtoframos Moscow plant.

The localization of production in the domestic market did not affect the cost of the model.

As the representative of the company said, this only reduced the time for deliveries of finished cars to dealerships across the country.

This fixing of the cost is connected with the fact that from the very beginning it was planned to assemble the hatchback from us. Thus, the cost for it was made affordable and acceptable for the Russian consumer from the very beginning.

We are assembling a model with a 1.6-liter engine. It works with a choice of manual and automatic transmissions. The car with a two-liter unit will be delivered to us from Turkey, as before.

Options Renault Megane

Russian consumers will see the Renault Megane hatchback of our assembly in six trim levels. The working volume of the engine is 1.6 liters. The cost of the model for the basic configuration starts from 569 thousand rubles. The maximum price is set at 784 thousand rubles. The calculation of the delivery of the car to the dealer's showroom is carried out separately.

Two-liter Renault Megane will also be available to customers. But, they are collected only in Turkey. These cars are made in two trim levels.

What Renault Megane of our assembly looks like

The Russian version of Renault Megane will be eight centimeters longer than its European brother. Its trunk has been increased to 75 liters, but the overall weight of the model has decreased by eight kilograms. The wheelbase of the model is 2641 millimeters.

Engineers have improved visibility from the driver's seat. This was achieved by drowning the corner of the front glass. The rear window is small at first glance, but it has good visibility.

In technical terms, the European and Russian versions practically do not differ from each other. Here the suspension design and gearbox have been preserved.

It is noted that this car has become safer, and its design is so good that it will satisfy the needs of any consumer. Is it so?

In terms of appearance, the car received a modified grille and an improved shape of the headlights. The sporty curves of the body are the same for both ours and the European version. Inside, the car will delight with rich interior trim and a very attractive dashboard design.

The driving performance of our sedan is in no way inferior to its European counterpart. Just like the dynamics of acceleration. You won't have to complain about comfort either. Of course, the car will be better to drive on smooth asphalt than off-road. But, some holes are not a hindrance for him.

Pleasantly pleased with the color scheme of the model. Some colors are available only to our consumer. For example, "blue mineral" or "gray plate". Therefore, be sure that where the Renault Megane is assembled does not affect its technical characteristics in any way. The Russian layout is in no way inferior to the European counterpart.

Renault Megane 2 generation was produced in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 with hatchback, sedan, station wagon bodies. The sedan was assembled at a factory in Turkey, and the rest of the modifications in France. In some countries, Megane 2 station wagons were sold under a different name - Megane Grand Tour. We will show where the blocks with fuses and relays are located in Renault Megane 2nd generation, as well as a video example of how to get to them. Also photographs of blocks and diagrams with a description of the purpose of the elements, we separately note the cigarette lighter fuse.

Under the hood of Renault Megane 2 generations there are 3 fuse boxes. You can see how to get to them in this video.

Renault Megane 2003 - 2008, generation II

The Megane II is the second generation of Renault's small family golf car. The model got its name from a concept car shown back in 1988. The first generation was intended to replace the Renault 19 in 1995. The car was in many ways similar to the previous model, but it was made in a new corporate style. In 1999, the car underwent a slight facelift, which resulted in a significant increase in safety performance. The Renault Megane II model was born in 2002. From the previous generation, the car was distinguished by increased safety, modified equipment and some other features. Until 2006, the car was called Megane II Phase 1. Then the manufacturer subjected the car to another facelift, starting the production of Megane II Phase 2 models. The first and second phases differ little from each other, while the differences between the first and second generation are immediately evident. The Megane II features sharper lines on the exterior, which is especially noticeable when compared to the Megane I's rounded and sloping body. In addition, the car is equipped with an upgraded engine range that develops power from 98 to 137 horsepower. In 2008, the model was replaced by the Renault Megane III.

The Renault Megane Coupe has been in production since 1998. The car is a classic French coupe with all its characteristic features - a low landing, a wide hood, smooth body lines. In addition, the sports version of the coupe is designed for only four passengers, while the original car can accommodate up to five people. The premiere of the updated Renault Megane Coupe took place at the Paris Motor Show in autumn 2009. For the Russian market, the model was introduced in December 2009. The Russian version of the car is equipped with one of two engines: a 110-horsepower 1.6-liter engine or a 140-horsepower 2-liter gasoline unit. The first engine is equipped with only a manual transmission, while the second can work with both manual and automatic transmissions. Important advantages of the car were good sound insulation and an updated security system - the car received 5 stars according to the results of EuroNCAP crash tests. The capacity of the luggage compartment of the car is 330 liters by default and 1024 liters when the rear seats are folded down. The car comes in two configurations - Dynamique and Privilege. The front-wheel drive coupe in the top version accelerates to 100 km / h in 10.3 seconds and reaches a speed of 195 km / h.

Each part of the car from the seat belt to the engine has its own number associated with the VIN code, which is assigned to each car and contains all the information about it, including information about the engine. The VIN code is located under the windshield and is duplicated on a plate that is attached to the B-pillar on the right side.

A rigorous component tagging system is designed to make it easier to find a specific part in case of repair. All modern service centers and spare parts stores use special electronic catalogs in their work, which allow you to almost instantly find the necessary part by the wine code.

Of course, in the event of a failure of one or another node, the car owner is not always able to dismantle it on his own, bring it to a specialized store and ask the sellers to pick up a similar one. It is easier to look at the VIN code of the car or a unique part number, especially when it comes to such large elements of a car as an engine.

How to get the necessary information?

Many Renault Megan 2 owners are wondering: where is the engine number? Independent searches under the hood quite often end in vain. Firstly, these data can be viewed in the technical documentation that the manufacturer attaches to each released car. In particular, in the instruction manual, which contains accurate data about each node of the car, including the engine number. Secondly, the markings can be found directly on the engine.

Where is the marking on the Renault Megane II engine?

Many owners of Renault Megane 2 are asking a similar question. For example, when buying a car in the secondary market, in order to play it safe and see for yourself that the motor on the car is “native”. True, quite often, independent searches end in vain. To find the number on the motor, you should stock up on improvised means: a small flashlight, rust remover (for example, WD) and rags.

The number on most machines is usually stamped on the surface of one of the non-removable elements of the power unit. In particular, on Renault Megan 2, it is located on the front wall of the cylinders, between the junction of the manual transmission and the oil dipstick tube, exactly in the middle of the block. The digital combination contains the model, index and serial number of the motor.

What to do if the numbers are not visible?

On a used car, the surface of the power unit element, on which the number is stamped, is covered with a rust coating and it becomes impossible to make out the marking. We do not recommend using sandpaper to remove it, since the VIN numbers are not very strongly embossed and can be easily rubbed off. If this happens, when selling a car, you may be suspected of hiding the true information about the car.

Even greater troubles can threaten if a forensic expert discovers a wiped motor wine code. He can send the car for examination and charge you with a violation under Art. 326 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Destruction or falsification of the identification number of the vehicle”. Therefore, it is better to get rid of rust with the help of special tools and soft rags. You can avoid the appearance of corrosion with the help of preventive measures - when buying a new car, immediately apply a little graphite grease to the engine area where the VIN code is located.

Does the procedure for registering a vehicle and MOT imply reconciliation of the actual marking of the motor?

According to the rules adopted in 2011, reconciliation of the engine number when registering a vehicle and passing a technical inspection has been abolished. Even in the event that it is known for certain that the actual digital combinations do not match those indicated in the documents, the services that carry out the inspection do not have the right to refuse to issue you a coupon.

Do I need to file a motor replacement with the traffic police?

Despite the fact that at present the engine number data is not checked during vehicle registration and maintenance, this does not mean that in the event of its replacement, the owners of Renault Megan 2 should not file this with the traffic police. Since 2013 when registering a vehicle and insuring it, the information contained in the VIN (vin code) of the car is used, which contains, among other things, information about the engine.

If the new power unit has parameters corresponding to those that appear in the wine code, you should simply make changes to the PTS and the traffic police database. To do this, you must pay a state duty in the amount of 1300 rubles. and submit the following documents to the traffic police REO:

  • passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation;
  • PTS (make a copy in advance);
  • STS (certificate of vehicle registration);
  • a certificate-invoice from a store or a contract of sale, if the power unit was purchased from a private person;
  • customs declaration if a new engine is purchased abroad;
  • a photocopy of the car service certificate, which should contain information that the replacement of the motor can be carried out;
  • an act on the performance of work indicating that no structural changes were made during the replacement of the motor.

The developers of the Renault Group are constantly upgrading the power units of their cars. The method of searching for spare parts based only on the model and date of manufacture of the machine is not relevant today. Therefore, the importance of knowing the wine code of the motor in a situation where it needs a major overhaul or replacement can hardly be overestimated.

The functioning of each vehicle depends not only on the health of the engine, but also on the performance of the fuses. One way or another, but the electrical circuit plays an important role in the operation of the car. In this article, we will tell you about the functions of the Renault Megan 2 fuses, where the block is located and how it is replaced.

What are fuses and why are they needed

What are fuses? What are they needed for? Where is the fuse block (PSU) located? These questions occurred to every Renault car owner. Now we will try to answer these questions briefly. These elements are designed to open the electrical circuit when the current strength in it increases sharply.

In a more understandable language, the components of the PSU are necessary in order to protect the devices of the electrical equipment system from damage as a result of a short circuit or circuit overload. That is, if a malfunction suddenly occurs in the circuit and a short circuit occurs, then the fuse will fail first, and then the device itself is already possible. The fuse, as they say, takes all the blow. And not in vain, because it is cheaper to purchase this element in the event of its failure than to buy new power windows, mirrors, etc.

Location and diagram of the PSU

Next, we invite you to find out where the fuses on the PSU are located and what functions they perform in Renault cars of the second and third generation. In both car models, the main PSU is located on the left side of the torpedo. To get to it from the driver's seat, you need to remove the cover on the instrument panel on the left side under the steering wheel.

In addition, the machines of the French manufacturer have another PSU, which is installed in the engine compartment. Its circuit will also be described below. Despite the same location of the PSU, the circuits in both car models differ from each other, so we will consider their description separately.

Removal and replacement process

So let's get started:

  1. First, open the hood and disconnect the battery terminals. If this is not done, the dismantling of the PSU can have sad consequences for the car.
  2. You will see a PSU located on the right side in the engine compartment. You need to unscrew the screws securing the battery and remove it. Also unscrew the PSU cover. All bolts that need to be unscrewed are indicated in red in the photo.
  3. Using a wrench to "10", unscrew the nut and remove the clamp with a bundle of wires.
  4. Now you need to unscrew the fastening screws directly to the PSU.
