At the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, Acura showed a pre-production TLX sedan, and just three months later, at the New York Motor Show, the production-ready car debuted, which, as expected, turned out to be an almost complete copy of the concept.
The new Acura TLX 2016-2017 (photo, price) replaced two models in the manufacturer's line at once - the TSX sedans (its production was completed at the end of 2014) and the larger TL. Over the exterior of the car worked experts from design studios in Los Angeles and Raymond (Ohio). There were not so many serious differences between the conceptual and serial versions of the model. Both versions are front-wheel drive by default, but the V6-powered sedan can be equipped with the proprietary SH-AWD all-wheel drive system. The release of the car began in the summer, and at the end of 2014, sales of Acura TLX started in Russia, and it was decided to supply modifications with both engines to us. Acceptance of orders started in November at a price of 2,199,000 rubles per car in the Techno configuration.

In the Techno package, the front-wheel drive Acura TLX is equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 208 hp. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that combines two clutches and a torque converter - according to the manufacturer, this solution is used in a serial transmission for the first time in the industry. In this modification, the sedan accelerates to 100 km / h in 8.2 seconds, the maximum speed is 210 km / h. Gasoline consumption - 7.9 l / 100 km in the combined cycle. A more expensive option - Advance - features a 290-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine, which works together with a nine-speed automatic. In this modification, Acura TLX accelerates to “hundreds” in 6.9 seconds, top speed is 201 km/h, average consumption is 9.1 l/100 km.
In addition to the reduced weight and independent suspensions (rear - multi-link), various systems should have an impact on improving driving performance. One of them - Acura Precision All-Wheel Steer (P-AWS) on front-wheel drive versions - helps the rear wheels steer. All-wheel drive versions have a proprietary Super-Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system that distributes traction not only between the front and rear axles, but also between the rear wheels, in which the components have become 25% lighter, and friction losses have been reduced. Agile Handling Assist (AHA) harnesses the potential of VSA stability control and brakes for confident cornering with less steering. In addition to this, the Integrated Dynamics System (IDS) vehicle parameter setting system was used with four possible modes (Econ, Normal, Sport, Sport +), each of which changes the operation of the electric power steering, gearbox and all-wheel drive, as well as the accelerator sensitivity and steering logic rear wheels.
The protection of the driver and passengers in the Acura TLX is provided by curtains and airbags (including a knee airbag for the driver), as well as active head restraints, child seat mounts. Compared to its predecessor, the sedan received a stiffer system of springs and rear axle anti-roll bars. The front suspension is represented by classic MacPherson struts, and the rear - by a multi-link system.
