Mazda 5w30 oil how to distinguish a fake. Mazda original oil

Good day to all! After reading this article, you will learn how to recognize a fake Mazda oil using the Mazda Original Oil Ultra 5W30 product as an example. What made me write this article? Yesterday, at the end of the working day, a client from another city came to our office for original Mazda oil. He ended the warranty service and had an independent oil change in the internal combustion engine. He took the choice of oil very seriously. This was indicated by the presence of instructions from the Internet, printed on several sheets of paper. We checked our oil canister according to his instructions and came to the conclusion that our oil is real. Today I decided to make one myself. I contacted oil suppliers, found out everything and summarized everything in this material.

Mazda oil fake - external distinguishing features

In order not to run into counterfeit Mazda oil, you need to take the product only in trusted places. You need to choose an oil according to the recommendations of friends or based on your own experience. But what if none of the above is present? Then our instructions will help you, with which you can easily distinguish original Mazda oil from a fake. So let's get started.

First of all, you need to take the canister in your hands and carefully examine it. First of all, inspect the lid. It should be with a recess and a small raised dot in the center. If the lid is not like that, then feel free to refuse oil - in front of you is an outright fake.

The next step is to evaluate the print quality. There are a lot of halftones on the original label. This is very much a fake. The pirates were never able to achieve high-quality printing. On the original canister, the inscription ZOOM-ZOOM is barely noticeable. But with fake oil, it catches the eye very well. A similar situation with spots on the upper left corner. All contrast transitions from white to black are not clear. This is due to the fact that the original image was vector before printing. And the Mazda oil fake used, most likely, a scan. Here is another significant difference.

We move on. Now you need to inspect the back of the canister. In addition to print quality, pay attention to the bottom backing of the label. The fact is that the Mazda Dexelia Ultra 5W30 oil back label consists of two layers. On the original, the top layer of the back label comes off easily. For a fake - with some effort, and paint remains on a white background.

These are the three main signs by which you can easily distinguish real Mazda oil from a fake. Now let's look at a few more small distinguishing features. Relief line. On a fake canister there is a strongly convex embossed line, and on the original it is less noticeable.

There are codes on the back of fake oil, but they should not be on the original. The embossing on the bottom of the cans is very different:

In addition to these signs, you should pay attention to the barcode. There were several cases when the fake was absolutely no different from the original. Mazda issued fake oil only with a barcode. Pirates mistakenly missed one thick line between the numbers 5 and 0

This is how it should be:

How to distinguish a fake Mazda oil by the external signs of the oil itself?

There are also a couple of distinguishing features of the liquid itself, which is poured into cans. Firstly, real Mazda Original Ultra oil has a translucent light pink color. Fake is very different:

Secondly, fake Mazda oil has a pungent odor, but the original does not.

And at the very end of the article, I would like to note that the oils themselves are not faked. As a rule, in the original canisters there is simply cheaper oil. This oil will not break the engine, but who wants to be deceived? After inspecting the canister, pay attention to possible defects. It is important to pay attention to the traces of the autopsy. Perhaps you will have the original canister in your hands, but there will be another oil inside. That's all, I hope this material will be useful to you and you can easily distinguish fake Mazda oil from a fake. Mazda Original Oil Ultra 5W-30 - original - logbook Mazda 3 2.0 sport 2008 on DRIVE2

On the speedometer a little more than 85,000, a scheduled oil change is approaching. At first I wanted to order oil and filter in existential as usual, but something stopped me. There was a desire to look at alternative options.

In the process of searching for different options, I accidentally stumbled upon a record of Mazda Original Oil Ultra 5W-30 - a fake. After reading, he immediately took out a canister from the last bay and began to frantically study it. Everything turned out to be OK, I filled in the original oil (although I took it in existential).

Many write on the Internet that they were unlucky, so I decided not to tempt fate and buy oil offline. For this, an auto shop was chosen (simply because it is nearby). While I was studying the canister in detail, the sales assistant began to desperately convince me that it was 100% original and immediately warned that the canister had changed a little. Actually, I share these changes.

On the front side below the date of production, in black letters. The sticker should not be easily torn off, in the original it is glued so that it cannot be torn off, it will tear. The stickers are of good quality and clearly printed.

There is no date on the bottom of the back. The sticker is similarly glued tightly (lower second layer with a detailed description).

The outline of the triangle should be barely visible.

The barcode must be scanned and display the brand of oil in the search results.

Tapered neck shape.

The lid is depressed, with 4 recesses for bending.

The slot showing the oil level is gradually expanding at the top.

The bottom of the original canisters is made differently. For example, in last year's canister, instead of the inscription Plysu, I have a square (as in many photos on the Internet). There are also a couple of other minor differences. As I understand it, the difference is that these are different manufacturers of canisters.

Update 02.07.15

I decided to read on SABZH what else people write in the world. There was a lot to read and watch. Someone puts bottles of oil in the freezer, and then someone else boils this oil on the stove. In general, everyone checks in their own way. At the same time, judging by the photo, there are at least three versions of canisters. There are options when the canister has signs of both the original and the fake.

After reading all this horror, I decided to study the contents of the canisters in order to finally calm down and close this issue. As a result, I got two old canisters from the balcony, plus the one in the photo above.

After a detailed visual inspection and comparison of all oils (including by smell), the following was revealed:

1 - from the year before last Dexelia Ultra (red sticker), 2 - Original Oil Ultra bought by me a year ago, 3 - Original Oil Ultra bought recently (pictured above).

As you can see from the photo, the oil is absolutely identical in all 3 cases in color. The smell and consistency are similar, a complete coincidence (I didn’t taste it, I left it on the conscience of those cooking on the stove). Conclusion: the oil in the photo is certainly original. Therefore, you can focus on this canister when buying.

p.s. Unfortunately, the oil I bought was produced in 2014 (as it turned out). There may be new differences in the 2015 canister. Compare next year. All the best and good luck on the road!

Oil Mazda Original oil Ultra - f furnace, what to choose. -DRIVE2

It describes what's inside with a dexos2 clearance, no gossip! of

There was official information from the representative office of Mazda Ukraine about fake Mazda Original Oil engine oil.

Fake motor oil has appeared in wide sale in Ukraine. The level of execution of the fake is quite good. The packaging design is very similar to the original motor oil.

What is inside?
The original engine oil is intended for filling in Mazda car engines, developed with the participation of the company's designers and provides optimal lubricating properties of parts throughout the entire service interval. Having carried out a chemical analysis fake oil Mazda Original Oil, experts came to the conclusion that it does not even meet the minimum standards that the modern automotive industry imposes on oils of this level. The fake is the lowest quality mineral motor oil! Oils of this level are characterized by extremely low stability of their characteristics and a high degree of volatility. In the case of the use of such engine oil in modern engines, it leads to accelerated wear of friction parts, the formation of slag, soot and other sparingly soluble deposits. This significantly reduces the resource of the engine of your car, increases the likelihood of its failure.

Below are the main differences of the original oil canister, which produced by TOTAL, and packaging with counterfeit motor oil.

A fake jar of oil can be identified by a number of signs that are visible upon its detailed examination.

On a fake can, the date and lot number are missing or printed in such a way that it is impossible to identify the product from them. On the original can of oil, all designations are printed in black or green computer print, where they are clearly marked:

  • Code of the manufacturer's plant and product;
  • Date of manufacture of engine oil;
  • Party number.

Fig.1 On the left is the original oil, and on the right is a fake.

In addition, there is a noticeable difference in the quality of the image of the labels. The fake label image (on the right in Fig. 1) was printed from a scanned original label (and not from the original layout prepared by the designers). This was noticeably reflected in the quality of the printed fake oil label:

  • Fuzzy color transfer printing on a fake canister.
  • The overflow of the wave color in the upper left corner on the fake label is darkened and is not fully displayed as on the original one. (Fig1.)

Fig. 2 On a fake label, the letters ZOOM-ZOOM are blurred and not clearly printed

For the reasons indicated above, the ZOOM-ZOOM slogan on the fake oil label is not very clear and is less contrasting against the black label. The letters are non-uniform - spotty dark areas are noticeable, and the letters also have uneven, "torn" edges. On the original label, all the letters are even and uniform - without spots and color overflows.

On the back of the canister, there is a noticeable difference in text and graphic elements. For example, there is no "exclamation point" marking in the diamond. In addition, the shape of the back label is different: the bottom white sticker, which is located under the top black front sticker, repeats the almost square shape of the top black label on the fake. In the original, the white label has a noticeably rounded lower right corner.

Fig. 3 On the left is the original oil, on the right is a fake in which the lower label is made in the form of the upper one.

Also pay attention to the quality of the plastic of the fake canister. So on a fake, low-quality plastic is used, as well as a mold for casting. As a result, fuzzy casting lines are noticeable, an increased porosity of the material visible to the naked eye. In Figure 4, you can clearly see the difference in prints when casting a fake canister.

Fig. 4 On the left is the original oil, on the right is a fake.

A characteristic difference between fake oil is also a cork. It is universal and even on a fake canister. On the original can of oil, the cork has a noticeable depression in the central part.

Fig. 5 On the left is the original canister and cork, on the right is a fake.

Fig. 6 On the left is the original canister and cork, on the right is a fake.

Differences are also noticeable at the bottom of a fake canister. There is a noticeable difference in the designation of the date of production of the canister. Like most counterfeit canisters, to make the process easier, it is made using a separate print with an arrow that indicates the date of production. During the production process, the cases move this hand to any date they need to print. Such additional, separate application of plastic on the date of production is strictly prohibited in the legal industrial production of plastic containers. On the original canister, such an imprint of production is made clearly in a single mold for casting a canister, without additional applications or seals.

Be vigilant. Do not buy products from questionable points of sale. And check the goods at the time of purchase!

What kind of oil to fill in the engine?- a fairly common question. Everyone knows the importance of timely oil changes and, of course, everyone wants to fill the engine of their car with the best oil.

Alas, there is no definitive answer to this question:
- You can find a huge number of discussions on the topic "what kind of oil to fill in the engine"
- You can watch a bunch of videos with all kinds of engine oil tests
- You can re-read a huge number of articles on the topic of engine oil

But nowhere will you get an unequivocal answer as to which oil is the best. And let's say more, the more you delve into this topic, the more contradictions you will find and the more difficult the choice becomes.

What to do in such a situation?

First of all, refer to the manufacturer's recommendations. Open your car owner's manual and see what it says. And everything is simple there, or Mazda car owners are relatively lucky, since Mazda does not offer many options for choosing oil for their cars:

MAZDA ORIGINAL OIL ULTRA 5W-30
old hydrocracked oil, SM specification
- recommended for all Mazda gasoline engines, including SKYACTV

MAZDA ORIGINAL OIL SUPRA 0W-20
latest SN specification oil
-recommended and developed specifically for SKYACTIV engines

But this does not mean at all that only original Mazda oil should be used strictly. Moreover, Mazda itself does not produce and has never produced automotive oils. It is also a well-known fact that the original oil for Mazda makes Total- for the European market and IDEMITSU for the American market.

You can choose oil for your car from any manufacturer, the main thing here is to adhere to the specification recommended by the manufacturer
- for SKYACTV engines - we recommend using oil with viscosity 0W20 according to SN specification
- for all other engines, except for SKYACTV, 5w30 oils according to SM or SN specification are excellent
- for our customers, we always keep in stock oils of the required viscosity and specifications of the following grades: MAZDA ORIGINAL,total,IDEMITSU, MOTUL

Another important point! - beware of fakes!!!

Recently, a lot of fake car oils have appeared on our market. Therefore, beware of buying automotive oil in unverified places and at temptingly cheap prices.
Unfortunately, we cannot give clear recommendations on how to distinguish fake oil from the real one. The fact is that the degree of protection of the original oil is not too high. Or it’s not difficult to fake the packaging with high quality. And you will not be able to determine what is poured inside the canister.

For our part, we GUARANTEE that all the oils offered by our car service are purchased from official distributors and are not counterfeit.

Recently, the Moscow market has been flooded with fakes of the original MAZDA oil.

They are sold both online and in large chain stores.

Below, we will describe several options for fakes that fell into our hands. Each of them is different from the original, and each of them is different from the other, so, most likely, these are not all possible options.

All of them are united only by the poor quality of the plastic canisters, and sloppy labels.

In the first photo, the real canister is on the left. There are differences in the font of the batch number and production date (almost nothing is visible on the fake, you can only see 09/15). The absence of halftones in the printing of green waves, and in the inscription "ZOOM-ZOOM". In the original, the inscription changes from different angles of view, but on the fake there is no such effect, and the letters are much brighter.

In the second photo, the real canister is on the right. There are two fakes in the center and on the left. The arrows mark the differences.

From friction on the box, the fake label was erased. This does not happen with the original.

The two fakes have the same batch numbers and the same production date in different fonts.

On the fourth fake, almost nothing is visible, except for September 2015.

This is how the real marking on the canister of the 2015 model looks like.

15 year marking on the bottom of a fake canister.

The width of the measuring scale on this canister, marked "15" of the 2013 sample.

The 2015 canister is on the left, it has a wide scale.

However, there are fakes with a wide scale. The real canister is on the right, in the center and on the left are two fakes. One has a narrow scale, the other has a wide one.

Fake plastic quality.

Traces of a roughly machined plastic injection mold are visible.

Fake plastic.

Real canister.

Garbage is clearly visible under the fake label. It is present in greater or lesser amounts in all samples. Apparently the production is going on in very dusty rooms.

The canister has a pronounced relief from the casting mold in the neck area. It's barely visible on the original. Garbage under the label is indicated by arrows.

The fake cork is not recessed, as on the original, oil flows from under it.

However, most fakes are now with a cork recessed like on the original.

Liter cans. The quality of plastic and ZOOM-ZOOM.

Fake on the left.

The font on the back label of a real canister of the 2014 model.

The fake font, closer to the lower right corner, is completely blurry.

Two fonts side by side.

Fake has a narrow scale.

Plastic quality. The original is in the foreground.

Fake on the left. The quality of plastic and the difference in marking fonts.

Stickers of large chain stores on fakes.

A characteristic place on all fakes is smoothed corners.

On a real canister, the corners are made clearly.

Second label on the back.

From a real canister, it is almost impossible to peel it off. The first label peels off easily, and the second can be torn off only by severely damaging it.

From fakes, the labels come off together, and you need to try very hard to separate them later.

One of the fake canisters is a centimeter higher than the original one. The corners are indistinct.

Another fake is lower, it does not have a part of the neck at all, under the cork. Nearby is the original canister, the differences are shown by arrows.

Let's take a closer look at the front labels.

"Broken" pixels in the inscription ZOOM-ZOOM on a fake.

The letters overlap. The edges of the letters are indistinct.

Another variant.

Here the letters in different lines have grown together into one whole, and the spelling of the letter “a” is different.

Everything is clearly printed on the original canister.

This is not a complete gallery, it will be updated.

Be careful.

It's time to add new designs to our collection.

The first sample was made very clumsily, at the level of fakes three years ago, despite the fact that it was bought in an online store in 2016.

A cork without a recess, bad plastic with fuzzy corners, on the green label is two times smaller than on the original.

Original on the left.

The quality of the label printing does not need comments, the production date and batch number are simply missing.

Bad plastic, fuzzy corners

A new element has appeared - a certain triangle that is absent on the original bank.

Sample number two. Bought from Exist.
The canister is made worse, the labels are much better than the first sample.
An exclamation mark appeared on the back label, which had not been seen on fakes before.
A triangle behind the cork, as on the first canister, a pronounced imprint of the shape above the label.

The lot number is printed in a different font

Here is the original font

Fuzzy corners, triangle behind cork

Fake on the left, original on the right. On a fake, smoothed corners, the canister is slightly lower.

Sample number three. Also Exist.

The exclamation mark is in place, the label is printed quite well.

The batch number is printed in a completely different font, different from sample number two and from the original.

Under the stopper, part of the neck is missing. The canister is lower than the original, and a common place for all samples is smoothed corners and porous plastic.

Exist sticker, bad plastic.

On the last two samples, the back labels look similar, the second label is smaller than the first one, as on the original, slightly uneven rounding.
On the original, the first label is glued to the second with small adhesive dots, indicated by arrows on the original canister (it's on the left). The labels themselves do not have an adhesive layer, and are dry to the touch.
Fake labels are smeared with a continuous layer of glue, they feel like electrical tape and stick to your fingers.

On the original canister, the first label peels off from the second from right to left, and reaching the edge, it does not come off further, the left edge is glued very tightly, like a book binding. On a fake (it is on the right), the label peels off arbitrarily, and is not held by anything.

We will update new designs as they become available.
