Which car is better: Mazda or Toyota. Which car is better: Mazda or Toyota Videos about these cars

Many car owners will agree that choosing among 10 options is much easier than in situations where there are only 2 candidates left. And especially when each of them deserves a place in your garage.

The market is new and has always been an impressive competition. With the advent of almost all companies that did not even plan to produce SUVs before, due to high demand, they were forced to offer their own version in this segment.

Some cars can only be conditionally called competitors, since the favorite in their confrontation is obvious. And there are cars, to choose between which is really difficult. A good example is the Japanese crossovers Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5. Great cars in every way. To choose a favorite, you should compare them by key characteristics, operational capabilities and other parameters.

The current second generation Mazda CX-5 was officially unveiled in Los Angeles in November 2016. The Japanese automaker itself positions the novelty as a completely new generation. But in reality, the generation change is more like a deep restyling.

Changes in technical terms were minor. The CX-5 has an updated platform and added some modern components. In appearance, the revolution also did not happen. The cars have changed, but the appearance remained easily recognizable from the first generation of the crossover.

In the role of a cart to create the CX-5, 2 generations used an upgraded platform from its predecessor. A large amount of high-strength steel is used here, due to which the torsional rigidity indicators increased by 15.5%. The front is a traditional MacPherson strut independent suspension, and a multi-link design is provided at the rear.

The crossover from Mazda has a rack and pinion steering system with electric power steering. The brakes are disc everywhere, and the front ones are also ventilated. Regularly, ABS, BA and EBD systems, as well as other electronic assistants, are provided in the basic configuration.

The current version of Toyota RAV4 for the European and Russian markets made its debut in September 2015. The North American presentation took place in April of the same year. The fourth generation already has a successor, which debuted in the spring of 2018. But the novelty has not yet reached the Russian market, therefore it is relevant to talk about the restyled version of the 2015-2019 model.

As part of the modernization of the RAV4 from the Japanese automaker Toyota received an updated appearance, new equipment, improved quality finishing materials, modern security systems, etc. The crossover itself is based on the Toyota MC platform. The machine has a load-bearing body structure and a transverse internal combustion engine. The front suspension is fully independent with MacPherson struts, and the rear has a multi-link layout. In this sense, everything is similar to Mazda's conditional competitor CX-5. The steering gear of the RAV4 is rack and pinion with electric power. Brakes on all wheels are disc, front ventilated. Toyota SUVs come standard with BAS, EBD and ABS systems.

While we can note the technical equality between the two Japanese crossovers. It's hard to give preference to someone. To determine the favorite in the confrontation between the Mazda CX-5 VS Toyota RAV4, a deeper comparison is required on a number of key characteristics.

Appearance

Exterior can rightly be called the most subjective parameter when comparing two potentially equal opponents. In both cases, the design is made at the highest professional level.

Adhere to their philosophy when creating the appearance. Mazda looks quite brutal, but at the same time refined and elegant. The appearance of Toyota seems more futuristic due to the narrow optics.

But in the case of the CX-5 and RAV4, the rear end was not the best way to implement it. It is somewhat discordant against the lighter and neater front parts of the two crossovers. When choosing between the Mazda CX5 or Toyota RAV4, you should hardly rely solely on external characteristics. Here you should put a conditional equal sign.

If you dig deeper, then Mazda has one problem related specifically to the appearance. This is a serious resemblance to the younger and older brothers of the CX line, as well as the use of similar design solutions, as is the case with. Against this background, the RAV4 looks preferable, since this crossover cannot be reproached for being similar to other representatives of the automaker's lineup. RAV4 is more distinctive and unique.

Much more objective will be a comparison by dry numbers, reflecting the overall dimensions of each crossover. The second generation CX-5 has the following dimensions:

  • length 4555 mm.;
  • wheelbase 2700 mm.;
  • width 1840 mm;
  • height 1670 mm;
  • clearance (ground clearance) 215 mm.

Toyota still fits into the European compact class, although it has crept very close to the mid-size segment.

It shows up in the following numbers:

  • length 4605 mm;
  • height 1670 mm;
  • width 1845 mm;
  • wheelbase 2660 mm.;
  • ground clearance 197 mm.

Despite the long length of Toyota, Mazda has superior wheelbase. Now it is interesting to look at how each company managed to apply the available dimensions to the implementation of the cabin and luggage compartment.

Interior and luggage compartment

It is quite difficult to answer the question of which is better when comparing the Mazda CX5 and RAV4 compact crossovers from two leading Japanese automakers without understanding all the characteristics and aspects of the machines.

It is definitely worth taking a look inside. The interior of Toyota looks modern, attractive and relevant for the present time. Here, solutions are partially borrowed from premium crossovers produced under. In terms of organizing the internal space, ergonomics and creating comfortable conditions for the driver are not.

The interior of the RAV4 is designed for 5 seats, including the driver, although the rear sofa is molded for 2 passengers. The front seats are as comfortable as possible, lateral support is pronounced, the pillow is optimal in length, height and filling. The back sofa is spacious, it can easily accommodate 3 adult passengers. There is free space in all directions. The backrest can be adjusted in terms of the angle of inclination.

Under the luggage compartment allocated space with a volume of 506 liters. The spare wheel is not full-size, but there are 2 niches for tools and other small things under the floor. The back of the rear row can be lowered, and a platform is created flush with the boot floor. As a result, the usable space increases to 1705 liters. All configurations are equipped with nets for valuable cargo.

Torpedo on the Mazda CX5 is implemented in a minimalist style, but in the center there is a 7-inch touch-screen multimedia display versus 6.1 inches for a competitor.

The interior space in the Mazda CX5 is tastefully decorated using high-quality and expensive finishing materials. This can be seen even in the poorest trim levels. All parts fit perfectly, there are no gaps, there are no crickets.

The interior is five-seater, the rear sofa is molded for 2 passengers, but it can easily accommodate 3 adults. The filler in front of the seats is optimal in terms of rigidity, has a confident profile, good lateral support and a wide range of adjustments. There are no special claims to the back row, but, as in Toyota, 2 people will feel as comfortable as possible.

Despite the large wheelbase, the luggage compartment in the Mazda was smaller. In the standard position, it holds 403 liters. The backrest folds down to form a flat area with a loading volume of 1560 liters. A full-size spare tire is hidden in the subfloor. With a surcharge, the tailgate can be equipped with an electric drive, and even with a remote control.

The interior of the RAV4 seems more ornate and cheerful, while the interior of the CX-5 is restrained and sometimes austere. But in both cases, an impressive supply of space, high-quality finishing materials, and excellent assembly are offered. Toyota managed to offer a more spacious luggage compartment, while not losing to Mazda in terms of comfort for rear passengers. Therefore, for now, the RAV4 crossover is leading with a slight margin.

Motors, gearboxes and their capabilities

The second generation Mazda CX5 arrived in Russia with 2 atmospheric gasoline engines. Both represent the Skyactive-G family.

  1. The base engine is a 2.0-liter ICE with 4 cylinders. It produces 150 horsepower and 210 Nm of torque. It is completed with a 6-band mechanics or a 6-speed automatic to choose from. Drive forward or full.
  2. The older engine offers 2.5 liters, 4 cylinders and 192 horses at 256 Nm of torque. A conditional disadvantage of the motor can be called the lack of a choice of box and drive. There is no alternative to this internal combustion engine with all-wheel drive and an automatic transmission.

Depending on the motor and drive, the CX5 accelerates from zero to hundreds in 7.9-9.4 seconds, and the maximum speed ranges from 187 to 197 kilometers per hour. In the combined cycle, aspirated consume a modest 6.2 and 7.3 liters of gasoline with a junior and senior engine, respectively.

When choosing between Mazda CX-5 crossovers or Toyota RAV4 SUVs, you need to take a look at what a conditional competitor has to offer.

Toyota, in fact, does not give more choices, while offering 2 types of drive, 3 gearboxes and 3 motors on the Russian market.

  1. In the basic configuration, the car is equipped with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated internal combustion engine with a capacity of 146 horsepower and 187 Nm of torque. It can work in conjunction with a 6-speed manual or CVT variator. The drive is full front. Depending on the equipment, acceleration takes from 11.3 to 10.2 seconds, and the maximum speed is the same everywhere, and is 180 kilometers per hour. Consumption varies from 7.4 to 7.8 liters per 100 km.
  2. The top petrol engine is considered to be a 2.5-liter unit for 4 cylinders and 180 hp. With. with a torque of 233 Nm. The motor can only be equipped with a 6-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. It accelerates from standstill to hundreds in 9.4 seconds, and the maximum speed does not exceed 180 kilometers per hour. The combined cycle consumes 8.6 liters of gasoline.
  3. One diesel version is represented by a 2.2-liter engine with 150 horsepower and 340 Nm. It is completed only with automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. From standstill to hundreds breaks down in 10 seconds, and the maximum speed does not go beyond 185 kilometers per hour. But in the combined cycle it consumes 6.7 liters of diesel fuel.

In terms of fuel consumption, Mazda wins. Plus, this crossover has better dynamics and top speed. Only the diesel version of Toyota can offer similar fuel consumption.

But in the feature selection component, both manufacturers have rather limited customers. The right to choose is essentially only in the case of base engines. The remaining modifications are strictly limited in terms of the combination of gearbox, motor and drive.

In this comparison, a compact crossover manufactured by Mazda looks like a more attractive option. But here only passport data are indicated. In practice, both cars consume more fuel.

Further comparison will take one step closer to answering the question of which SUV is better if you choose between such monsters as the Mazda CX5 and Toyota RAV4.

The safety of both crossovers turned out to be at the highest and exemplary level for many competitors. If you want to compare Mazda CX5 crossovers and Toyota RAV4 crossovers, trying to find the safest car, this is unlikely to succeed. They are too equal.

As for handling on the pavement, then the superiority is on the side of Mazda. The car is surprisingly light, obedient, dynamic and sometimes airy. Toyota is more clumsy, strict and straightforward. Mazda perfectly enters into turns, practically does not fall over, clings tightly to the asphalt. Here RAV4 looks a little more modest and simpler.

If you like a more dynamic ride, then choose the CX5. Full feeling of drive, and even with the base engine. With a small difference in power, the base motor on the RAV4 cannot provide the same dynamics.

In off-road conditions, the all-wheel drive Toyota behaves much more confidently. Having driven into the sand, Mazda's all-wheel drive will immediately turn into front-wheel drive. The machine is clearly not designed for such conditions. But RAV4 should not be purposefully sent for testing in sand, swamp or gravel. You can get stuck or at least damage the body.

Since we are talking about urban crossovers, comparing cars by off-road performance is not entirely correct. If you plan to go to the country, periodically go fishing, give preference to RAV4. Purely for a city dweller and a lover of drive, the CX-5 is suitable.

In terms of maintenance costs between machines, approximate parity. Although Toyota has a shorter service interval, which forces the owners of the new crossover to carry out maintenance more often. And therefore the costs are somewhat higher.

Spare parts for Mazda are a bit more expensive than those for Toyota. Nevertheless, the Toyota brand is more widely distributed and introduced into Russian realities than a competitor.

The CX-5 wins in terms of fuel economy when compared to petrol versions. The motors in both cases are atmospheric, and therefore there are no additional costs for the turbine. In this component, you can put an equal sign.

The restyled version of the 4th generation Toyota RAV4, which is current for Russia, is offered in 7 configuration options, where the simplest version will cost 1.5 million rubles. For the top equipment, you will have to pay at least 2.24 million rubles.

Only available in 3 trim levels. The basic version in 2019 starts from 1.58 million rubles, while the richest equipment costs at least 2.5 million.

Mazda turned out to be somewhat more expensive than Toyota, but with such a budget, there is practically no fundamental difference in price.

Mazda has:

  • 6 airbags;
  • steel wheels 17 inches;
  • radio with 4 speakers;
  • heated front seats;
  • air conditioner;
  • ABS, ESP, BA, EBD, etc.

In the top, the buyer receives dual-zone climate control, alloy wheels, a multimedia kit, leather interior, LED optics, power front seats, a rear view camera, keyless entry, etc.

The basic equipment of Toyota provides:

  • 7 airbags;
  • rear LED lights;
  • LED DRL;
  • fog lights;
  • light sensor;
  • power windows on all doors;
  • air conditioner;
  • audio recorder with 4 speakers;
  • hill start assistant;
  • ABS, EBD, EBS, TRC, VSC, TSC, etc.

If you are ready to take the top version, then you will additionally get full LED optics, a multimedia kit, a panoramic viewing system, a dual-zone climate control, blind spot monitoring, leather interior, etc.

Despite the more modest price tag, Toyota offers a little more for its crossover in terms of equipping the base and top versions. Mazda is inferior, but not by much. Much depends on what the buyer really needs.

Now it remains only to sum up and decide what is better to choose between the RAV4 and CX5 crossovers from two leading Japanese manufacturers.

When making a choice, one should rely not only on the opinion of experts, since each specialist is based on partially subjective judgments. You need to take into account your own wishes and requirements for the car.

In many respects, the two crossovers are similar to each other. But still they are different. Mazda's character can be described as more windy, dynamic and aggressive. Here you get a premium quality interior, extremely mischievous and reckless handling. In terms of off-road performance, the CX-5 is noticeably inferior to the RAV4, and also offers a more modest luggage compartment. If you expect maximum emotions from the car, take Mazda.

Toyota RAV4 is designed for more rational and pedantic people. Everything is done at the highest level, the interior is spacious, the trunk is large, the driving characteristics are balanced. On such a machine, you can move around in the city, outside the city and even outside the asphalt. If you want a practical vehicle, perhaps even for a family, and require at least minimal off-road performance, look to Toyota.

Toyota RAV4 2.2 D (150 hp) 4x4 AT (1,562,000 rubles) and Mazda CX-5 2.2 D (175 hp) 6AT Supreme + options (1,668,000 rubles)

Represented

This year, the RAV4 is celebrating its 20th anniversary since the launch of the first generation. Today, the fourth generation, introduced in 2012, is already running on the roads. Compared to its predecessors, it has grown significantly in size, power-to-weight ratio and level of equipment. And most importantly, it has changed its orientation: if once the RAV4 had a reputation as a youth fun car and ladies' man, now it is a full-fledged unisex and even with a claim to the role of a family car.

The "off-road" architecture of the front panel is designed to emphasize that the RAV4 is no longer a ladies' man, but a car that is quite suitable for a serious man. The quality of finishing materials to match the cost

The CX-5 can't boast of such a rich history - its debut took place in 2011. This is Mazda's first experience in creating a "global" compact SUV and, judging by the fact that a separate production facility has been organized for Russia in the Far East, it is very successful. The CX-5 is the company's first vehicle to be built using Mazda's latest unique technologies, collectively known as the SkyActiv. Motors can be considered the main breakthrough. Gasoline atmospheric and turbodiesels of this series have the same compression ratio - 14:1.

Looked

Outwardly, both cars leave no doubt about their Japanese origin, but it is impossible to confuse them - each has its own family design. The same is true in salons. Toyota has a heavy “off-road” front panel hanging over the legs of the driver and front passenger with a missing “beard” and, as it were, a separate tunnel. The CX-5, on the contrary, has a “light” architecture - a sloping dashboard surface with a pronounced center console flowing into the tunnel.

Otherwise, the difference is not particularly noticeable, except that the Mazda driver's seat is a little more comfortable due to more pronounced lateral support. The second row of RAV4 seats consists of two unequal parts with individual longitudinal adjustment. In the SH-5, the sofa consists of three separate chairs (40:20:40), but they do not move back and forth. Toyota's trunk is a hundred liters more, even despite the "hump" that covers the spare tire on a regular alloy wheel. In general, all this is a matter of taste and needs, but there is enough space in the interiors of both cars.

swept

The diesel modification of the RAV4 makes a good impression with a high-torque engine with quite moderate gluttony. True, it is difficult to get rid of the feeling that you are driving a large and heavy car. It is created by a not very responsive gas pedal, combined with slurred feedback on the steering wheel and body roll. But with a smooth ride, everything is fine - small irregularities do not bother the crew, and there is almost no body buildup.

Driving the CX-5 is different. Here, the diesel engine is more willing to follow the gas pedal, and the “automatic” adapts faster to the driving style. Mazda is both objectively and subjectively more dynamic than Toyota, it steers more transparently and practically does not fall in corners. However, this is natural - the suspension of the CX-5 is shorter and stiffer than that of the RAV4. But this difference has little effect on cross-country ability: the geometry of both is decent, and a similar all-wheel drive system (multi-plate clutch between the axles) with electronic assistants allows both not to get stuck when diagonally hanging or wheel slip. By the way, the RAV4 has a center clutch lock button, while the CX-5 has its control completely at the mercy of the electronics.

asked the price

Of the thirteen versions of the RAV4 offered in Russia, three are diesel. They are all all-wheel drive, with a 2.2 liter engine (150 hp) and a 6-speed "automatic". The most affordable is "Comfort Plus" for 1,366,000 rubles. with a full range of security systems, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a leather steering wheel, an audio system and a multifunctional central display (6.1 inches), power accessories, a rear-view camera and xenon. "Elegance Plus" for 117,000 rubles. expensive. There, in addition, there is an engine start button and electric drives for the driver's seat, folding mirrors and a fifth door, parking sensors and leather upholstery. The top "Prestige Plus" (another 79,000 rubles from above) - on 18-inch wheels (the rest have 17 inches), with navigation, Blis and lane control.

The diesel CX-5 also has one 2.2-liter engine (175 hp), “automatic” and all-wheel drive. There are two complete sets - Active (1,405,000 rubles) and Supreme (1,530,000 rubles). The more expensive one has leather upholstery instead of fabric upholstery, there are electric driver's seats, parking sensors and a rear-view camera. But xenon, navigation and other options are in packages of additional equipment. In general, more expensive than RAV4 will be ...

Outcome

Ilya Pimenov, editor:

Diesel Mazda CX-5 pleases first of all with “drag” torque: 420 “Newtons” already at two thousand revolutions! Hence the feeling of incredible ease behind the wheel. It only enhances the "passenger" interior design. The exterior is also completely devoid of corners. RAV4, on the contrary, is emphatically brutal both externally and internally. If it weren't for metal-look plastic and multi-colored displays... In my opinion, they spoil the RAV4. In the CX-5, everything is more organic.

Andrey Kochetov, editor:

Despite the equal score, my sympathy in our comparison is on the side of Mazda. Let it be a little inferior to Toyota in practicality (transformation of the interior, trunk volume), driving, especially on asphalt, is almost more pleasant than a “tank” car. And the declared economy is much closer to the truth than that of the RAV4. The CX-5 will cost, however, with an equal configuration it is more expensive, but the price difference of 7-10% today scares a few.

Only careful comparison helps to determine which is actually better. This rule also applies to cars, so today we will try to compare the Rav 4 and Mazda CX 5. The comparison of these two Japanese crossovers is due to the fact that they are in approximately the same price category, and they are quite comparable in their other characteristics, so it will be interesting find out which of these cars is still more reliable and in what conditions.

Car equipment

The automobile concern Toyota sells only two of its engines on the Russian market. The first 2-liter gasoline engine includes 146 horsepower, and the second engine is slightly larger - 2.5 liters at 180 hp. Diesel units are not available in Russia, which cannot be said about Mazda, which introduced a wider category of possible options on our market.

The following engines from Mazda are presented on the Russian market:

  • Two liter petrol.
  • 2.5 liter petrol.
  • 2.2 liter diesel engine with 175 hp

If compared in this component, then Mazda wins a landslide victory, because in addition to a wider range of units presented, the gasoline engines of this brand are also more powerful than those from Toyota.

However, if you look at the technical equipment, then Toyota is more preferable. Toyota Rav 4 has xenon optics in its configuration, and cars are also equipped with an electronic clutch lock function. This circumstance allows you to transfer torque to the rear axle of the car.

car exterior

The exterior of the car Rav 4 was perceived by many with a considerable amount of skepticism, because the body, and the rest of the elements of the appearance of the car, clearly lacked some kind of brutality. Now this problem is practically solved, because the designers added more strict forms in 2016, which noticeably attracted the interest of the male half of the buyers. But the efforts of the developers cause a lot of controversy, because the front of the crossover turned out to be unnaturally elongated, which affected the appearance of the headlights - they became quite strongly planted.

As for the CX-5, its appearance is much more aggressive, which will certainly appeal to fans of sports cars and "drive". However, the improved exterior played a cruel joke on the car - outwardly it seems a little smaller and lower when compared with Toyota. Yes, and the reliability of the body of Toyota is higher.

Generally speaking, Mazda looks more colorful and modern, so it is often chosen by young people who value the appearance of a car almost above all. Toyota Rav 4 also looks decent, but a certain conservatism slips in the exterior, so it is generally accepted that this car is intended for business people and middle-aged people. Although all these categories are too subjective to speak with 100% certainty.

car interior

When choosing which is more reliable and better - CX 5 or Rav 4, it is very important to pay attention to the interior of these cars. There are a lot of interesting things here, because the salons of these Japanese crossovers are absolutely different from each other. Salon Mazda is made somewhat minimalist, without any frills. There is a standard set of functions and buttons that are within the driver's reach.

Under the climate control button there is a fairly roomy niche where you can store various small things. Behind the automatic transmission selector is the multimedia system control. In a word, everything is located here so that the driver can freely reach the main control systems without making any special efforts.

The front panel looks more harmonious with Toyota. In addition, the Rav 4 has many different shelves in the cabin where you can store your personal belongings, etc. However, it seems that the developers overdid it a bit with such functionality, because it takes some time to figure it out. Also raises questions about the functionality of the cabin. The seat heating button is available only to the driver, i.e. the passenger must ask the driver to turn on this function, because he himself simply does not reach it. Yes, and other buttons are located under the center console, which greatly complicates access to them.

In addition to conservatism and archaism in the exterior of the Rav 4, the same can be seen in some elements of its interior. In particular, we are talking about the power window keys, which again are available only to the driver, and not to passengers. Mazda has no such problems.

I would like to continue the comparison of the interior with a description of the car seats. In principle, the seats of both crossovers are very high quality, but here again Mazda has a slight advantage. Purely tactile, their seats are a little softer, while the upholstery of Toyota looks quite rough.

On the other hand, Toyota wins in terms of the comfort of staying in the cabin. Due to the fact that its side doors are larger, the space between the rear and front seats is also larger, so passengers are more comfortable in the back.

Crossover test drive

The picture would be incomplete if we did not try to compare these cars directly in action, i.e. test drive required. Toyota responds quickly enough to the start button, but if this happens in the winter season, then its engine roars loudly enough. But as it warms up, this problem disappears, so don't be too picky about this fact. 150 horsepower of the engine is enough for normal driving around the city, as well as on country roads.

Test video, from Infocar

I would especially like to note that overtaking cars on Toyota is carried out just fine. This is due to the stable operation of the 6-speed automatic transmission. The Mazda diesel engine is slightly more powerful than the Toyota engine, but on the road this difference is quite noticeable. The suspension on the CX-5 is also stiffer, which affects the ride, making it more aggressive. It should be noted that the consumption of gasoline does not increase from this, remaining within reasonable limits. With all these advantages, it is worth noting that Mazda has much worse sound insulation, so Toyota wins in this regard.

The stiffness of the Mazda suspension, unlike Toyota, is manifested during the passage of speed bumps, so you need to be very careful about this maneuver. Otherwise, all passengers will clearly feel the impact of contact. Often this leads to problems with the suspension, so the repair of this unit is quite common in this car.

  • The average cost is 1.4 million rubles.

Based on the above data, we can say that the technical side of these cars is largely similar with only minor differences.

Pros and cons of cars

Based on the information obtained during the tests, you can make a summary. Let's start with a description of the advantages of the Mazda CX-5:

  • In the configuration there is a start-stop system.
  • There is a sunroof.
  • Pretty good engine power.
  • The maximum speed is quite decent for this class of car.
  • Mazda is cheaper than Toyota.
  • Despite the classic style of the salon, some of its elements look quite original.
  • Convenient arrangement of the dashboard and buttons.

But there are also disadvantages that are also worth mentioning:

  • Sophisticated multimedia system control system.
  • Parktronic is present only in the elite versions.
  • There is no electric drive in the tailgate.

Here are the main advantages of Toyota Rav 4:

  • The presence in the cabin of a large number of different shelves.
  • The driver's seat is electrically adjustable.
  • The dashboard is made quite concisely.
  • The presence of a rear view camera.
  • Comfortable seats in the back for passengers.

There are also disadvantages:

  • It is not clear why there is a podium in the trunk.
  • The suspension is not strong enough.
  • The seats don't look as good as Mazda's.

Owner reviews indicate that there is no definite opinion which is better - Mazda CX-5 or Rav 4. Still, the choice of a car is a purely individual matter for each person, who can only determine the advantages and disadvantages of a particular car during operation. If we evaluate them, we can conclude that Mazda looks more dynamic and aesthetic, but Rav 4 has more roominess, which is much more appreciated by some drivers.

Summing up, we can say that connoisseurs of fast and driving driving will certainly choose the Mazda CX-5, but lovers of comfort and stability will choose the Toyota Rav 4. Unfortunately, it often turns out that it is difficult to find the perfect combination of performance and advantages in one car, and therefore you have to think about the choice.

Toyota RAV 4 and Mazda CX 5: crossovers designed for different purposes

Before buying this or that thing, we, as a rule, evaluate it according to various parameters and, of course, compare the product with analogues. Obviously, if we are talking about a low-budget purchase, a global approach in this matter is not relevant, however, if you have to buy a car, you should compare it with analogues in as much detail as possible. We offer you a comparative description of such cars as Mazda CX 5 or Toyota RAV 4. Both of these models belong to the category of Japanese-made crossovers and are compared quite often, as they belong to the same class. We have prepared for you a detailed analysis of the characteristics of these crossovers according to the main aspects.

We invite you to compare two popular crossovers

Suggested configurations and price tag on the model

First of all, it is worth talking about the equipment of the considered analogues. The Toyota brand offers potential buyers of the RAV 4 model only 2 options for the power plant:

  • a gasoline engine with a volume of 2 liters and a power of about 146 horsepower;
  • a more powerful version, also running on gasoline, having 180 horsepower and 2.5 liters of volume.

As part of the world market, this Toyota is also presented with a diesel engine, however, the brand did not bring this equipment to the Russian market.

In this matter, the Japanese brand Mazda has prepared a much wider choice for its customers. Of course, petrol engines with a volume of 2 or 2.5 liters are offered. However, Mazda's power plants are much more powerful. In addition, a diesel version with a 2.2-liter volume and 175 horsepower is also available in Russia.

Mazda loses to rival in terms of equipment

In terms of electronics and technical equipment, Mazda undoubtedly loses to the RAV 4 model. The latter is pre-installed with xenon optics, and there is also a system that blocks the electronic clutch, which, by completely transferring torque to the rear axle, gets the ability to turn off the stabilization in full.

Such a factor as the price of a car is quite often decisive, because some characteristics of a car can be sacrificed if you have to pay an exorbitant price for a model. The cost of Toyota starts from 1.459 million rubles, while Mazda in a similar configuration will cost from 1.349 million.

Exterior models

In comparing the exteriors of models, it is worth starting with Toyota. Previously, it was designed in the form of a SUV, intended mainly for women. This determined the form and general character of the design, and therefore the public was rather skeptical about the model. Meanwhile, the brand eliminated the problem by incorporating strict and clear lines and classic geometry into the exterior in order to interest the male audience as well. It is fair to say that the exterior of the RAV 4 turned out to be ambiguous. The hood and bumper of the crossover are quite elongated, and therefore the headlights look quite deep set.

The result of the brand's work on the exterior of Toyota is ambiguous

In turn, the brainchild of Mazda - the CX 5 model - is the brand's first step towards the implementation of a new design concept for all products. The car seems "driving" due to the presence of aggressive lines and strict details in the exterior. Since the overall shape of the car looks very swift, purely visually it seems to be less overall than the Toyota brand counterpart.
Mazda CX 5 - the embodiment of a new concept of exterior design from the Japanese brand

Salons with nothing in common

The interior of the Mazda is laconic, without any frills. However, it uses very effective elements:

  • the front panel is designed in the style of modern BMWs;
  • so that the screen of the multimedia system does not reflect glare, it is slightly recessed into the torpedo;
  • effective lateral support on the chairs;
  • the dashboard of the model looks quite modern and prestigious;
  • specially designed compact seats.

Unfortunately, Mazda's simple, intuitive multimedia interface is still a bit dated.

Toyota interior is very reliable

In connection with the installation of an angular dashboard, the interior of the RAV 4 gives the impression of a very reliable and massive one. Meanwhile, many elements in the interior definitely lack the quality of workmanship. We are talking about buttons and a torpedo made of low quality plastic. By the way, Mazda with its compact seats loses to Toyota in terms of landing the driver and passengers. Seats in RAV 4 are equally well suited for both thin passengers and people of a larger build. The level of ergonomics is also higher for Toyota, since the cabin has a sufficient number of shelves and pockets designed for a wide variety of little things.

All this means that, considering the salons of the Mazda CX 5 or its analogue - Toyota RAV4, we can conclude: Toyota is more spacious, ergonomic and comfortable.

Salon Mazda is simple and concise

Management and test drive results

If necessary, compare RAV 4 and Mazda CX 5 cars, it is also important to pay attention to how crossovers perform on the road. An experienced driver feels the difference in the management of each model even in the first minutes of a test drive. So, within the framework of this question, Mazda can be characterized as follows:

  • sharpness and sensitivity to driver manipulations;
  • pronounced dynamism;
  • very modest fuel consumption;
  • good handling when cornering;
  • the car responds perfectly not only to the gas pedal, but also to the use of the brake system.

In general, the crossover from the Mazda company showed itself perfectly in the conditions of the city. Unfortunately, the automatic transmission package does not compare with the "mechanical" counterpart in terms of control, as it lacks paddle shifters.

The controllability of cars is revealed in different conditions

Speaking of Toyota, I must say that this car is quite heavy to lift. If at low speeds the difference between the crossovers is practically not felt, then after exceeding the mark of 60 km per hour, the differences become apparent. Toyota is designed mainly for light off-road, but in urban conditions it is rather weak:

  • low speed on bends;
  • strong roll on corners;
  • tight acceleration and so on.

Thus, Toyota will reveal its potential in off-road conditions, but Mazda will show itself perfectly in the city.

These crossovers are designed for different types of surfaces.

Differences in crossovers are subjective

So, comparing the Mazda CX 5 and Toyota RAV four, we came to the following conclusions:

  • Mazda offers potential buyers a wider choice in terms of powertrains, but Toyota's equipment is much more solid.
  • The exterior of the Mazda is brighter and more memorable, and therefore this crossover is perfect for young people who want to buy a stylish car. Toyota will be the best solution for those who prioritize the comfort and spaciousness of the car.
  • Mazda is suitable for young people with a thin physique, while the RAV4 will be ideal for older passengers in the body. In addition, due to the large doors, Toyota has a much more comfortable fit and allows passengers to place all the little things in special drawers and pockets, which the more modest Mazda interior cannot offer.
  • For urban driving, the Mazda is best suited, while the Toyota will open up beautifully off-road.

2013 Toyota RAV4 vs 2014 Mazda CX-5: Crossover Comparison

Source 1gai.ru

Discussion of the article in the topic on the forum: http://clubcx5.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=891

Which crossover is better RAV4 or CX-5?

Experts from several foreign popular publications tested two popular 2013 Toyota RAV4 and 2014 Mazda CX-5 crossover models. Who do you think has the most positive ratings? Which crossover is better? Read a detailed test drive comparison of these two cars in our review.

In the battle of two crossovers, almost two equal cars took part in terms of performance and equipment. Prior to testing, the Toyota RAV4 had some advantage with a more sophisticated all-wheel drive system. The experts decided not to test these mid-size SUVs on a regular round auto track, but chose a more difficult track in order to really find out on different sections of the road which crossover still copes better with a not very easy track and deserves an award for driving dynamics.

The test involved both cars equipped with 2.5 liter four-cylinder engines and 6-speed automatic transmissions. The CX-5 has slightly more power at 192 hp. and maximum torque of 256 N.m. compared to the RAV4, with a power of 180 hp. and maximum torque of 233 N.m.

In addition to similar engine characteristics, both crossovers have almost the same gross weight: the RAV4 weighs 2130 kg, the CX-5 is 85 kg lighter at 2045 kg. The fuel consumption of the cars is also almost identical: the CX-5 combined fuel consumption is 7.3l/100km, while the RAV4's consumption is slightly lower than 6.8l/100km.

Which crossover has the advantage?

Thanks to a smarter all-wheel drive system, the Toyota RAV4 sends power to the rear wheels much better than the Mazda CX-5. Despite the fact that both models are based on front-wheel drive, the RAV4 crossover sends torque to the rear axle more efficiently.

So in sport mode, the RAV4 sends up to 10 percent more power to the rear wheels than the Mazda as soon as the driver turns the steering wheel.

Also, the intelligent all-wheel drive system of the Toyota RAV4, determining that the car lacks controllability, can send up to 50 percent of the power to the rear wheels. But that's not all. The key difference between Toyota and Mazda is that the RAB4 has the same amount of power to all four wheels before corner entry.

The experts noted this fact before testing on the track, that the RAV4 should have an advantage over the CX-5 in the corners. Whether so it in practice was found out at testing.

With this impressive all-wheel drive technology, the Toyota RAV4 should have beaten the Mazda CX-5 unconditionally, passing the track test much faster. But in reality it turned out quite the opposite. As a result of the test on the track with corners, the RAV4 lost 1.5 seconds to the CX-5. And that's with the advantage of all-wheel drive technology.

Mazda CX-5 SKYACTIV

Mazda really deserves special praise. Unlike Toyota, the budget of the entire Mazda company is several times smaller. But, despite this, Mazda makes very high-quality cars that occupy an important role in the world market. Therefore, the fact that the CX-5 crossover turned out to be better than the RAV4 in terms of dynamic characteristics, in the development of which much more money was invested than in Mazda, causes respect.

The RAV4 feels a lot heavier around corners than the CX-5. But it's worth noting that both crossovers tend to lean more when cornering than we'd like. But the Mazda crossover, as experts noted, inspires more confidence and a sense of security when cornering at speed. Also, the Mazda CX-5's stiffer suspension feels less stiff than the Toyota RAV4's. Although the two cars use the same independent MacPherson strut front suspension, on sections of the road where the RAB4 feels vague and very soft, the CX-5 handles the road extremely accurately.

Compare cars

Before testing these popular 2013-2014 crossovers, experts bet on RAV4 for another reason. Unlike the RAB4, the CX-5 cannot completely turn off the stability control system, which, with a more aggressive driving style, does not allow full use of the sporty driving style.

So by disabling this system in the RAV4, the driver of the crossover removed the electronic limitation on maximum acceleration, which contributed to the development of the maximum power of the car. On the contrary, in the CX-5, due to the impossibility of disabling the electronic stability control system, the system did not make it possible to develop maximum power, since at the slightest decrease in traction, the system reduced engine speed, preventing the driver from taking turns as quickly as possible.

It is worth noting that there is still a button to turn off stability control in the CX-5, but firstly, you will not be able to turn off this system for a long time, as it will automatically turn on after a while. Also, when the system is turned off, in the event of the slightest loss of traction at least one wheel, the system will automatically turn on in order to level the car by reducing engine speed and redistributing torque between all wheels of the car.

During testing, the experts turned off Mazda's electronic stability system for a short time, which led to an even more noticeable advantage of the CX-5 compared to the RAB4. It is also worth noting that the Mazda CX-5 has a much better rear suspension, which is much softer than the Toyota. On bumps and potholes, the rear suspension of the RAV4, due to its rigidity, will not provide comfort to the rear passengers. Apparently, Toyota, due to the rigid rear suspension, decided in such an inexpensive way to increase the handling of the crossover.

As a result, the Mazda, compared to the RAV4, looks sportier, more dynamic and more comfortable to drive comfortably on rough roads. When tested on a small, straight-line descent, the Mazda CX-5 easily emerged victorious due to its acceleration advantage and better tuned suspension.

BOTTOM LINE: 2014 Mazda CX-5 is better, but not in every way

When comparing the looks of the two crossovers, the clear winner is the 2014 Mazda CX-5. But the interior is undeniably a 2013 Toyota RAV4. In addition to Toyota's higher-end trim, the RAV4 has more room for rear passengers and more cargo capacity.

But for the most part, both cars are pretty much the same. If you value sporty performance and crossover styling, choose the CX-5. If you're more concerned with cargo space and a more stylish car interior, then you should go for the RAV4 - but you'll really have to put up with a stiffer suspension.

So, despite the many technical advantages of the Toyota RAV4 all-wheel drive system, in the nomination of the best crossover with a sporty character among inexpensive cars, according to a number of foreign auto experts, the Mazda CX-5 crossover has become.

Comparison of the most famous crossovers: Toyota RAV4 2013 and Mazda CX-5 2014

Many consider these two cars almost equal. But this is absolutely not true. What are their main differences?

Many experts gave great importance to the fact that the 2013 Toyota RAV4 has all-wheel drive, while the Mazda CX-5 lacks this distinction. To determine the driving dynamics, the most difficult tracks for this type of car were selected. The CX-5, in turn, is not inferior in power, and this is 192 hp versus 180.

The maximum torque is also in the Mazda side: 256 N.m versus 233.

The weight of the cars, although not much, is different. The 2013 Toyota RAV4, in turn, is 85 kilograms heavier than the Mazda CX-5, which is 2130 kilograms of net weight. The CX-5, in turn, consumes 1.5 more fuel, which is quite important for many motorists.

Where are the big benefits?

Due to the all-wheel drive, the Toyota RAV4 2013 sends more power to the rear wheels, which gives the car excellent dynamics and speed. And although the two cars have front-wheel drive, the Toyota RAV4 2013 still transfers most of its power to the rear, which has been noticed more than once by experts. Repeatedly carried out and testing on turns. There was great confidence that Mazda would also yield to its rival in this.

But what a surprise it was when Toyota lost by 1.5 seconds.

As for the Mazda brand, the peculiarity here is that the budget of this car is many times less. But even despite this, high-quality cars continue to be produced, and the number of fans exceeds tens of thousands. Considering such a big difference in budget, the Mazda CX-5 performed very well in this test, and this car really deserves respect.

What conclusions can be drawn?

The RAV4 feels significantly worse around corners than the Mazda. However, Mazda inspires more confidence in terms of dynamics, unlike Toyota.

The CX-5 really handles the road, allowing you to feel the speed and all the dynamics of the movement. Toyota RAV4 2013, in turn, is significantly inferior to Mazda in this regard.

Toyota RAV4 2013 accelerates to 100 km / h in 9 seconds, while Mazda does the same in 7 seconds. The capacity of the Toyota RAV4 2013 is 90 liters, and the Mazda CX-5 in this case is inferior to 58 liters, although the difference is not great. But still, the results continue to surprise themselves.

These two cars, in general, deserve respect and fully justify their price category.

Video review and comparison of 2013 Toyota RAV4 and 2014 Mazda CX-5

In the compact crossover segment, you can’t push through, but the appearance of the new Mazda CX-5 did not go unnoticed: the second generation turned out to be painfully spectacular! In the corporate color Soul Red Crystal looks incomparable - such lines, such a look ... But will beautiful eyes help in the competition? And can the Mazda CX-5 withstand the onslaught of the super-popular Toyota RAV4?

Beauty or practicality?

The starting positions are clear: Mazda takes beauty and emotionality, Toyota - price and practicality

It is not clear whether the golden section has already been found in this segment, from which it makes no sense to deviate, or the engineers of Toyota and Mazda create their crossovers with an eye to each other. If you remove the stylistic nuances, you get almost twins: similar sizes, similar design. Basic front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive for an extra charge, manual or automatic transmission, 2 or 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engines. The difference is only in the nuances: Toyota also has versions with a CVT, and Mazda engines are not ordinary aspirated engines, but the Skyactiv line with a high compression ratio of 14:1. And, of course, prices differ.

Crossover from Toyota does not shine with sophisticated design, but many people like this style

Toyota RAV4 can be either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. It offers two atmospheric gasoline engines of 2 and 2.5 liters (146 and 180 horsepower) and as many as three types of transmissions: 6-speed manual, CVT or 6-band automatic. And six options to choose from.

The most affordable RAV4 "Standard" with a manual transmission, a two-liter engine and front-wheel drive costs 46,695 rubles. In the same configuration, but with a CVT, it will cost 49,038 rubles, and with a CVT and all-wheel drive - 51,480 rubles.

Well, if you need 2.5 liters under the hood, "automatic" and good equipment, the prices will be different. In the Prestige version, an all-wheel drive 180-horsepower RAV4 costs 66,396 rubles, in the Exclusive version it costs 68,871 rubles, and the most expensive RAV4 Prestige Safety costs 70,422 rubles.

The new Mazda CX-5 is very spectacular - from some angles it is simply mesmerizing. Although it is noticeable that the overall architecture of the body has been preserved from the previous generation

The price list for the Mazda CX-5 is very similar: in the basic Drive version, it is also front-wheel drive, two-liter (150 “horses”) and with a manual transmission. And it costs 47,307 rubles, which is quite comparable to the price of the base Toyota RAV4. However, if you also need an “automatic”, then this will be the second Active package, and it costs 53,957 rubles, and with all-wheel drive - 57,249 rubles.

The 190-horsepower 2.5-liter version is equipped with all-wheel drive and an automatic 6-speed gearbox by default. But the prices are different: in the Active version, the price is 62,648 rubles, and in the top version of Supreme - 68,311 rubles. However, the test car is also equipped with a package of additional equipment, which includes several electronic assistants, a BOSE audio system with 10 speakers and a projection screen on the windshield, so the total cost of the car is 73,446 rubles.

The interior of the CX-5 is unimpressive in terms of design, but pleases with a “premium” feel. There are no economical solutions typical of the "Japanese"

So, Mazda in the top version is slightly more expensive. Why? This is clear at first sight: although the interior design does not have the same emotionality as the outside, but there is a sense of quality. Moreover, this quality is expressed not in some ostentatious premium elements, which individual manufacturers often sin, but in a careful study of small details.

Tactile sensations are no worse than in BMW or Audi, ergonomics are the same. Comfortable chairs with pronounced lateral support, wide adjustment ranges, large mirrors, a convenient and intuitive menu of the multimedia system - there are no questions. Well, maybe only the glossy finish of the center console has complaints: we would prefer something else so as not to admire our fingerprints.

What's outside, what's inside, Toyota RAV4 looks peculiar

The first thing you notice in the Toyota showroom is a radically different atmosphere. It is lighter here, the driver's seat can be lowered much lower, and in general there is more space around the driver - this will certainly be appreciated by large people. However, the design is as unique as the appearance - at first glance, it is even impossible to remember this seemingly chaotic set of lines, edges, angles ...

However, this did not affect ergonomics in any way - the fit is comfortable, visibility is excellent. There are questions only to the key layout system: it would be logical to place all the off-road function control buttons in one place. But no, locking the center clutch on the left under the steering wheel, turning on the hill descent assistant is on the right. And the buttons and keys themselves are made of assorted plastic, as if they were collected from the world one by one.

Behind the Mazda CX-5 is slightly cramped than the rival, but it has a more comfortable seat

Hey, where's the backrest angle adjustment? The price list of the Mazda CX-5 indicates that it is, but in fact ... Let's just say, in fact, it is vanishingly small: the back can be folded back literally by 2-3 cm. But on the other hand, the rear sofa itself is almost as good , like the front seats - installed at the optimum height, perfectly distributes the load. The stock of space is sufficient for passengers of average height, but if more dense or tall people are sitting in front, there is very little room in the knees. But the feet are not crowded - there is enough space under the front seats.

Almost a minivan! Rear Toyota is more spacious, and the backrest adjustment range is greater here.

But in Toyota in the back row there is a lot of space in all directions - this is not a crossover, but some kind of minivan! Even opening the door, you realize that it is unusually far from the back of the front seat, and when you sit down, you feel like you are in a limousine. The back of the rear seat here is also adjustable in tilt angle, and in a wide range. In general, passengers will definitely like Toyota more.

No one asks for an opinion on luggage, but he will obviously also “like” Toyota more. When the electric rear door opens the "subsoil" completely, associations with a minivan arise again - the widest opening, the minimum loading height, the volume of 577 liters. The practicality of this crossover is manifested even in small things: the upper edge of the rear bumper is covered with a plastic lining - so you can’t scratch it with a suitcase. In general, RAV4 confirms its status as a comfortable family car. The only negative we found is that the rear seat backs fold only from the passenger compartment.

Mazda has a smaller trunk, but the curtain is very comfortable. You simply do not notice it - it rises along with the door. All three parts of the rear sofa can be folded directly from the trunk - just pull the handle, and part of the back itself will lean forward. Comfortable! But there are also disadvantages: there is no lining on the bumper, the lower edge is noticeably higher, the opening is narrower. Smaller and volume - 442 liters. Hmm, practicality is clearly not Mazda's forte.

On asphalt. Toyota just rides, Mazda delights

G-Vectoring Control is not an invention of marketers, the system really works. And that's why the Mazda CX-5 is simply incomparably driven!

Skate Mazda CX-5 is emotionality. Striking design is paired with an equally flashy and reckless handling that becomes especially brilliant in extreme conditions. And the “fault” is the proprietary G-Vectoring Control system, which, by controlling the brakes and traction, helps to minimize the effect of understeer. On turns that the driver clearly wants to go at the limit of traction (holds the gas), G-Vectoring Control provides an effect similar to a steered rear axle - sometimes there is a feeling that the rear wheels deviate a few degrees in the direction opposite to the turn.

Mazda CX-5 gives no less positive emotions in quiet modes. As promised in press releases before the release of the model, Japanese engineers took into account all the wishes of the owners of the CX-5 and the new generation retained its excitement, but at the same time it became quieter and smoother. To eliminate the first drawback, literally the entire bottom of the car, including the wheel arches, was covered with a soundproof mat - and now aerodynamic noise and the sound of "sandblasting" are minimized. Although the sound of the motor during active acceleration can still be called loud.

To eliminate the second drawback - a stiff suspension - the settings were revised. The chassis became less sensitive to bumps, but retained its ability to "start" the driver on a winding path. And in combination with G-Vectoring Control, the Japanese beauty really turns on in earnest!

Manage dream? RAV4 behavior is neutral and predictable, which is quite natural for a family car.

Toyota's behavior is radically different: even if you press the gas in every turn, it will cause nothing but amazement of family members. Both in normal and in extreme modes, the RAV4 is an absolutely “insipid”, but at the same time a neutral and predictable car. Soft, but without frightening rolls. As fast as Mazda, but cool, not reckless. But at the same time, he is approximately soft and quiet - in general, a typical family man. And this is also a virtue - there are not so many crossovers in this segment that are configured correctly for all types of roads and light off-road. Although, why only light? Since we have all-wheel drive crossovers, why not test them at least on “beach” off-road?

Who will go next?

Oops! All-wheel drive Mazda CX-5 in the sand quickly turns into a front-wheel drive

And for this we have a "calibrated" sand pit - all four-wheel drive vehicles that have been on site tests have definitely demonstrated their abilities here. Although we usually do not require anything particularly complicated from our subjects - sand allows us to check the effectiveness of the auxiliary electronic systems, and since we have to pass obstacles on the move, we also evaluate the energy intensity of the suspensions.

With the energy intensity of the suspensions, the Mazda CX-5 is doing well, you can not dump the gas in front of the pits. Another reason not to do this is the strange algorithm of the all-wheel drive system. Firstly, the CX-5 does not have any off-road modes, and secondly, an assault on even a 20-meter stretch of loose sand can take an hour or more.

Why all of a sudden? Yes, from the fact that it is worth moving into the sand and skidding for 20-30 seconds, as the all-wheel drive CX-5 turns into a front-wheel drive. The message "High load on the four-wheel drive system" lights up on the panel, and the rear axle is disengaged. The car instantly digs in, and if there is no cable and another four-wheel drive car at hand, you need to put the box in the “parking” and wait 5-7 minutes for the clutch to cool down. After that, you will have another 20-second attempt - and this time we advise you to accelerate faster and do not let go of the gas, because until the wheels are slipping heavily, the clutch does not heat up so much. Well, if it gets hot, you already know what to do.

Compared to its rival, Toyota is simply the off-road king - it rides very confidently! However, we were able to overheat the “Toyota” clutch, although not so quickly

But what else the owner of a Toyota RAV4 needs to know before going off-road is the exact amount of ground clearance. Since this data may surprise him greatly: specifically in the 2.5-liter version, the exhaust system runs under the engine, leaving only about 160 mm to the ground! So be careful.

But in the sand, where there is no way to damage the exhaust, the RAV4 felt like the king of off-road. Having preventively blocked the center clutch, we plowed the quarry for an infinitely long time - while Mazda was cooling down, Toyota was driving up and down without signs of "fatigue". So if the off-road capabilities of a crossover are as important to you as its other performance parameters, keep in mind that even two very similar crossovers in design can behave completely differently.

For such a quick overheating of the Mazda CX-5 clutch, we found one excuse. Perhaps in this way the manufacturer is insured against the risk of critical overheating by turning off the clutch in advance. Well, or if in a simple way - "protection from a fool."

Beautiful, expensive and reckless Mazda or practical, roomy and passable Toyota?

Despite all the similarities, the buyers of the Mazda CX-5 and Toyota RAV4 are still different. By nature, Mazda is a windy beauty that can turn heads with its incredible design, almost premium interior and very reckless handling. But this will have to put up with a tighter trunk and limited off-road capabilities. But who cares when emotions run high?

But Toyota RAV4 - on the contrary, the choice of prudent and rational people. A design that has been run for years, a spacious interior, a large trunk, balanced driving performance - only the design can confuse it. But if you don’t care about it, but off-road qualities are important at least to a minimal extent, then definitely Toyota RAV4.

If you're more concerned with cargo space and a more stylish car interior, then you should go for the RAV4 - but you really have to put up with a stiffer suspension.

So, despite the many technical advantages of the Toyota RAV4 all-wheel drive system, in the nomination of the best crossover with a sporty character among inexpensive cars, according to a number of foreign auto experts, the Mazda CX-5 crossover has become.
