  • clean rags from which the pile or single threads do not separate (a small piece of soft flannel fabric will do);
  • watering can for pouring new oil.

To change the oil in the Nissan Qashqai variator, you will need an inspection hole or a lift. It is more convenient to carry out work from the inspection hole, since during the replacement process it will be necessary to carry out manipulations in the engine compartment.

  13. New oil is poured through the dipstick channel in an amount approximately equal to the drained one. The level is checked. Fluid is added to the COLD mark on the dipstick.
  14. The engine starts and at idle the oil warms up to operating temperature. The level is checked again. It should be at the HOT mark. In case of abundance, topping up is performed.

Finally, all parts and pipes are installed in place. New oil is poured through the funnel into the dipstick hole. Usually it takes from 7 to 7.5 liters of lubricant. Periodically check the oil level with a dipstick. Then you need to warm up the engine and transmission well and add lubricant if necessary. The next step is to pull out five caps, one of which is located in front, and four on the sides. To do this, you need to pry up the central part, and then pull it down 8 millimeters - this will make it easier to remove.

After that, access to the compartment of the power unit opens, which allows you to proceed directly to the replacement. Before that, as mentioned above, it is necessary to check the level and condition of the transmission fluid contained in the system by pulling out the dipstick.

If replacement is really necessary, the engine should be warmed up for 5-7 minutes, shifting gears alternately to positions 1 and 2 - this is necessary to complete the operation. After warming up, the transmission lever should be in neutral position.

The probe can be pulled out of the tube with a flat-tip screwdriver. She should press on the stopper tab, and then pull the probe up. It should be borne in mind that the oil level inside a warm engine is always higher than inside a cold one.

After the oil level is checked and the engine warmed up, the container into which the old fluid will be drained should be installed under the lower part of the variator. Then, removing the hole plug, drain the used oil. It is advisable to measure the volume of the drained liquid - this will help you navigate when filling in a new one.

If there is a need to replace the pan, then after draining the old oil, you need to remove it by unscrewing the 18 fixing bolts with which it is held in place. In this case, care should be taken so as not to pour over mining, which in most cases flows into the pan.

A couple of magnets on the pallet should be carefully wiped with a clean rag, otherwise, when installing a new lining, debris from them will enter the system.

After that, remove the coarse filter

After that, all removed parts must be thoroughly washed - diesel fuel is suitable for this purpose. Disassembly of the filter in most cases is not required, its mesh is washed without much difficulty.

The last thing left to do is insert a funnel into the filler neck, and then pour new gear oil into the variator system.

After the oil has been filled, start the engine again and warm it up for a few minutes, and then check the oil level.

On a warm box, the oil level will be higher than the marks on the dipstick and tend to the inscription > HOT<.



The drain plug of the Qashqai variator pan is unscrewed with a key to “19”. By the way, when it is reversed, it is recommended to tighten it with a torque wrench with a force of 35 Nm. Since there is a copper sealing washer under it, and the delicate thread there can be torn off, then you will also have to run for a new bolt (No. 3137731X06)

It must be remembered that it is better to know how much oil has drained from the box, so that it is easier to navigate when filling. Oil can drain from the box up to 20-25 minutes.


As soon as it stops dripping from the drain hole, you can unscrew the pan itself. Fastening bolts, all 18 pieces, unscrew the head to "10". When removing, be careful, because there will still be oil (due to the design features), so it’s better to unscrew and leave a few bolts on one side so that all that liquid does not pour out.

There are 2 magnets on the tray. All plaque from them must be removed and the pan wiped clean with a lint-free rag so that no debris gets into the variator. It is important!

To get the filter out of the heat exchanger, it’s not an easy job to do, you will need to dismantle the air duct, battery, unscrew and put aside the “brains”.


It is unlikely that it will be possible to dismantle the platform that will interfere, but in principle you can do it this way, you can easily get it by hand, if you can remove the wheel and bend the fender liner and turn it from below, but I don’t think it will come to that.


By the way, look there, do not confuse the hoses, suddenly you will be removed ... otherwise, instead of the varicose fluid, you will also start draining the antifreeze.
