The elongated “skirt” under the bumper, made of pliable plastic, has also become useful: the distance from the edge of the bumper to the ground is as much as 190 mm - not bad, but you still need to be careful when parking “facing” the curbs.

The rear lighting has retained its shape, but the pattern of the lamps has become more expressive. Firstly, now the optics are visually divided into two parts: red - from above, white - from below. Secondly, expensive versions of Cerato are now equipped with LED taillights. I hope that the issue of sound insulation in Kia will be resolved promptly - without waiting for a generational change or the next upgrade. However, let's get back to the technical component.

The 2017 Cerato debuted a new electric power steering. It is installed directly on the steering rack, and its settings, according to the manufacturer, should provide better feedback than its predecessor. To be honest, I don’t remember the behavior of the pre-reform Cerato very well, but the new one - even in the sports driving mode (the Drive mode option allows you to change the engine, automatic and steering settings) does not shine with sharp reactions. People who perceive the car solely as a household appliance will not be disappointed. And from a purely consumer point of view, Kia Cerato is really very good. Who else in the class is willing to offer a five-year limited 150,000 km warranty?

And one more thing: during the update, Cerato received several new options, including blind spot monitoring with indicators on the rear-view mirrors, a reverse parking assistance system, as well as the ability to keyless access to the luggage compartment. In order for the trunk lid to open automatically, it is enough to approach the car with the key in your pocket and linger at the rear bumper for a couple of seconds. Checked - it works. Very nice.

In general, the update of the third generation Cerato turned out to be rather superficial, but more was not required so far. This is an absolutely adequate family car, well equipped even in the basic version. And the fact that the car is produced on a full cycle at the Avtotor enterprise in Kaliningrad makes it possible to keep the price at an acceptable level. Other things being equal, Kia Cerato is more than 100 thousand rubles cheaper than Elantra, which is assembled from Korean car kits at the same Avtotor. I think it's a great argument!
