And these are the results of a "hot" hatchback, comparable to those shown by the Volkswagen GTI in our long test, although this car was equipped with a six-speed mechanics. To access the start assist system, select Sport mode, disengage the ABS, shift into manual shift mode and hold down the brake pedal. After pressing the gas pedal to the floor, the engine will reach 3200 rpm, then, when ready, release the brake. The front wheels will rotate slightly, which will help the engine gain speed before the AWD system transfers some of the torque to the rear axle to throw GLA250 forward.

But in one positioning of this car as a sports car fails - braking. The brake pedal is quite firm and inspires confidence, but we got a stopping distance of 53 meters when braking from 100 km/h; this result is comparable to competing crossovers, but 5 meters more than the "hot" hatchback VW GTI. The GLA250's higher weight and high center of gravity should be blamed for this. So this car should rather be called a “warm” hatchback.

Split personality
