Honda Fit is a popular Japanese car that has been produced since 2001 to this day. It is mainly focused on the markets of the USA, Japan, China, but you can also find a car in Russia. In Europe, these cars were called "Jazz". These cars are urban "subcompacts" with engines of 1.3 and 1.5 liters.

Cars of all generations were assembled on the basis of the L-series internal combustion engines, in particular, L13, L15, LEB, LEA, LDA engines are used here. Until 2007, these engines were used without the VTEC gas distribution system, but the engines received it after 2007 and became more powerful.

Engine table

ATTENTION! Found a completely simple way to reduce fuel consumption! Don't believe? An auto mechanic with 15 years of experience also did not believe until he tried it. And now he saves 35,000 rubles a year on gasoline!

The table shows that the most popular engine is the L13A - it was on its basis that the first Honda Fit cars were created. It was also installed from 2001 to 2013 on the 1st and 2nd generations of cars.

Description and characteristics of L-series engines for Honda Fit

The L-series engines replaced the obsolete legendary D-series engines. When developing, the Japanese used non-standard solutions for themselves - at least in the L-series internal combustion engine, rotation is clockwise. The second solution is the use of chains instead of timing belts, which increased performance. The chains used by Honda worked out 200 thousand kilometers without stretching and breaking. Also, in new engines, they began to use 8 candles instead of 4, as before. This decision, with the correct firmware, made the engine unpretentious to fuel and ensured easy starting even in very cold weather. Even super-poor mixtures in the cylinders ignited without problems thanks to two candles.

The most popular in the line were the L15A and L13A motors - their characteristics correspond to the table.

Initially, Honda created a 1.3-liter engine that could compete in power with 1.5-liter engines from other brands. Later, the company decided to modify it for installation on heavier machines. The simplest solution is to squander it and increase the volume. So in 2006, the L15A engine appeared - this is the same L13A, but bored out for a 1.5-liter volume. The same 8 spark plugs were used here, but later VTEC systems were installed on these engines, which increased power and torque, the number of spark plugs was brought up to the standard four. Modifications of this engine (for example, L15B) are produced even today and are used on new Honda cars.

The L15B engine is an improved modification of the L15A unit. He received a DOHC system (with two camshafts), VTEC, larger intake and exhaust valves, a plastic intake manifold, and most importantly, new pistons for 11.5 compression and a lightweight crankshaft with 4 counterweights. Power was 130 hp. at 6600 rpm; torque - 155 Nm at 4600 rpm.

These engines are installed on modern Honda Fit cars produced from 2013 to the present day.

There are also Hondas on the market with LEB, LEA and LDA engines - these are hybrid power plants with one and two camshafts, 16 valves and the i-VTEC system. They are paired with 13 and 30 hp electric motors. and are characterized by low fuel consumption, minimal environmental pollution.

Design reliability

After many years of operation, the L-series engines have proved to be unpretentious in maintenance and adapted to different operating conditions. And if in Europe, the USA and Japan these motors were treated with care, then in Russia they were exploited to the fullest (poor quality gasoline, driving over potholes, using non-original oils and being late with lubricant changes), but at the same time they remained alive.

The only weak point of these motors is the ignition system. The fact is that many craftsmen did not understand that there could be a second row of glows in the engines, and when the owner brought his car for service, only the front row was changed for him. This led to the rapid wear of the ignition coils, and their price is quite high - $ 100 each. Therefore, many owners of these cars with engines equipped with 8 candles “got” $ 400-500. Hence the rumor appeared that the ignition system in these engines is a weak point, although the reason for this was the inexperience of the craftsmen.

The maintainability of these internal combustion engines is at a high level, but there are some design flaws. First of all, this is the intake manifold, which closes the engine in a small engine compartment. This created difficulties for simple operations, for example, to remove and install the "inlet", and the rear row of candles could only be replaced with a special key, the standard one is too short. Other operations also required the availability of an appropriate tool. However, to summarize, the L-series motors are quite maintainable.

Maintenance and tuning

There are no special difficulties in care. The main thing is to change the oil on time (recommended viscosity is 0w20 and 5w20) and spark plugs. It is advisable not to drive the prescribed 10 thousand kilometers on one lubricant, 5 or 7.5 thousand is the optimal mileage. Candles are recommended to be changed after 25 thousand kilometers - with such maintenance, there should be no problems with the engine in the first 100-150 thousand kilometers.

Note that in terms of ease of repair, L-series motors are not in the first place. Nevertheless, these ICEs will forgive their owners for maintenance flaws, for example, untimely replacement of lubricants or the use of poor quality fuel.

As for tuning, there are no serious solutions to increase power and torque. If 8 candles are installed in the engine, then there is no room at all for any modifications in the cylinder head. There is more space in VTEC engines with 4 spark plugs, but still not enough. Even the well-known company Mugen (which specializes in improving Honda's internal combustion engines) was able to offer only a miniature pipe kit, which became the most effective solution.

Conclusion

The L-series engines used in Honda Fit cars are reliable and practical, with a long service life. In terms of reliability, they surpass the legendary D- and B-series internal combustion engines, but they lose in terms of ease of repair. If you follow the maintenance regulations, then the margin of safety and resource is enough for a “mileage” of over 400-500 thousand kilometers. This is a very good indicator for an old and even more modern motor.

What is zenshin? One of the meanings of this Japanese word is "moving forward." But in Japan there are two more homonymous words, which in translation mean “single body” and “completely new”. And it was zenshin in all three of its word forms that became the semi-official definition for Honda Fit in Japan in 2001.

The reason that Honda Fit could not gain popularity in our market for a long time is the high cost of the first copies that appeared in our area. But today this model has become more affordable, the result of which is a rapidly increasing number of Fit on our roads. This car can make you fall in love with its design alone, but the car is also practical, and, as our recent Tribuna showed, it also drives great! It remains only to find out how worthily this urban slicker is able to endure the hardships of Russian exploitation, what troubles the owners expect from him and what surprises he presents for them. However, does it deliver?

Technique of the new time

The Honda Fit, as well as other platform models, use the new L-series engines that replaced the D-series engines. Due to the widespread use of aluminum and composite materials in the design of these engines (for example, a plastic intake manifold), the 1.3-liter L13A on 10% lighter than the equivalent D-series engine, and design solutions (such as 30-degree intake and exhaust valve camber versus 46 degrees on the D-series) made the new engines even more compact.

But the most important innovation of Fit/Jazz engines is a change in layout and design: the new L series received the generally accepted direction of rotation of the crankshaft (clockwise) and the standard location under the hood (engine on the right, gearbox on the left).

In total, the Fit / Aria / Airwave / Mobilio / Spike family of models uses four eight-valve engines, the most powerful of which - the 1.5-liter L15A - has a variable valve timing system VTEC. The power of this motor is 110 hp. On the Fit Aria sedans and the Mobilio minivan, the base is the 90-horsepower L15A modification, without variable phases, but with two candles per cylinder (i-DSI - Dual and Sequential Ignition). The same system is used on the 1.3-liter L13A (86 hp), which is the base for the Fit hatchback. All these engines are distinguished by traditionally high reliability for Honda and have no weak points - at least, they could not recall Fit with serious engine problems at reputable service stations in Irkutsk. And the most common nuisance is the pollution of the intake system and combustion chambers. But this malfunction, as a rule, first affects the stability of the engine and its efficiency, and only if all alarming symptoms are completely ignored can it lead to failure. But VTEC or i-DSI on the Honda Fit have not yet caused serious problems. Owners of "VTEKO" cars should be more picky when choosing engine oil, and i-DSI owners will be "pleased" with the double cost of replacing candles. By the way, it is advisable to carry out this procedure on engines with two candles per cylinder immediately after purchasing the car in Japan, since repeated cases of installing candles from different manufacturers in the front and rear rows were noticed. Apparently, in Japan they are often limited to replacing candles only in the front row - it is easier to get to them (candles from NGK are installed on the conveyor).

In general, the resource of L-series engines, even in our conditions, is at least 200,000-250,000 km, which they honestly care for with timely maintenance. But upon reaching the wear limit, these motors (as well as the D series engines) do not provide for the possibility of overhaul, and the “repair” size rings found on sale are pure fake and profanation. Therefore, when the motor is worn out, it is better not to repair it, but to change it to a new or contract one.

Despite the use of the G-LEV toxicity reduction system, Fit engines do not have negative reviews on cold start in winter: yes, at -20C and below, the engine may not start on the first try. But, as a rule, from 2-3 attempts, the motors of the L series start up at -30C. The only thing you should pay attention to is that the variator “does not like” active driving in an unheated state.

The Fit transmission is the very cornerstone that generates the most questions-talks-disputes among fans of this model. And all because the Honda Multi Matic S stepless variator is used as the main transmission unit on the Fit, which is still Terra Incognita for many Irkutsk service stations. The Honda Fit variator is distinguished by a number of original design solutions. For example, the belt that transmits torque from the engine to the wheels is of a pushing type - that is, it does not work in tension, but in compression, which practically eliminates the possibility of breaking it. Secondly, the moment from the engine to the variator is transmitted not through the torque converter, but through the Start Clutch, which in fact is nothing more than an automatic clutch. Because of it, a sharp start from a place in CVT Fit (as well as Fit Aria, Airvawe and Mobilio) occurs as if with a slip, reminiscent of the slip of a conventional clutch on cars with a manual gearbox, and when starting uphill, the car can even slightly roll back (down) . But the moment from the engine completely reaches the wheels, without "bogging down" in the torque converter, which contributes not only to better efficiency and dynamics, but also allows you to fully realize the possibility of engine braking! Alas, at least two-thirds (or even three-quarters) of all cases of problems with the variator arise precisely because of this node, the main cause of which is contamination of the variator cavity and wear (aging) of the fluid. The plant provides for a fluid change every 40,000-45,000 km, however, many Honda service stations (including those in Japan) do not change the fluid for 70,000-80,000 km. For a new car, when operating without heavy or extreme conditions, this approach does not entail anything terrible, however, in any case, the fluid in the variator should be changed immediately after purchasing the car, and subsequently every 20,000-40,000 km.

The resource of the variator on the Honda Fit is at least 150,000-200,000 km. It will be very difficult for a non-professional to assess the degree of CVT wear, but it is quite easy to check the performance of the variator at the time of purchase. First, the car must move off without significant delays and without shaking. Also, without trembling, he should stop. If there is a delay at start, shaking, or if the engine tries to stall when stopped, these are clear signs of the imminent demise of the Start Clutch (replacement - at least $ 250, plus another $ 500 for labor). Acceleration should be smooth and even, and at the same time or slightly increasing at the first and last stages of acceleration, engine speed (however, jerks or dips during acceleration are not yet a sign of a variator malfunction - the problem may be hiding in the engine). Finally, when buying a CVT Fit, it will be useful to check the condition of the fluid in the CVT. Alarming symptoms are a low level of liquid, its too dark color and a burning smell. By the way, if an unscrupulous seller changes the fluid before selling the car, the smell will still remain - in such cases it is better to immediately refuse this instance - the cost of even a used variator can reach up to $ 2500 (a new one is even more expensive).

Honda Fit Extreme Concept

However, in fact, the variator is not as terrible as they say about it: a survey on the honda-fit.ru website showed that 87% of those who answered did not break the variator, another 11.5% only heard that it was unreliable, and only 1 .5% of Fit owners had problems with the CVT. Moreover, according to one of the Japanese magazines, Honda CVTs were not repaired in Japanese services even after 200,000 km of run. As they say, no comment...

On some Fit modifications, 7-band Honda Multi Matic S 7-speed CVTs are installed, allowing the driver to independently (using paddle shifters) choose one of 7 fixed gear ratios in the CVT. However, due to their small number in the region, there is no data on the reliability of these CVTs. Well, 5-speed manual boxes do not cause problems to owners at all. The only requirement for them is to use only Honda MTF-2 branded fluid.

The Honda Fit suspension is made according to the classic scheme for such cars: McPherson shock absorbers in the front, and either a twisting beam on springs on front-wheel drive cars, or an independent De-Dion suspension with all-wheel drive in the rear. The resource and reliability of shock absorbers and silent blocks for Fit is at the level of competitors. But a couple of nodes require increased attention. Firstly, these are the supports of the front struts, which often require replacement with a run of up to 100,000 km, even in Japan. And secondly, rear hub bearings often demonstrate similar “durability”.
All-wheel drive modifications of the Honda Fit are the prerogative of the exclusively Japanese market. But, as with engines, here Honda also changed its traditions and instead of the DPS system used the V-Flex Full Time 4WD scheme, without a center differential and with a viscous coupling in front of the rear gearbox. The advantages and disadvantages of this scheme have long been known to everyone. We note that the branded DPSF fluid is also used here - it is it that must be poured into the rear gearbox. But the use of an electric rather than a hydraulic power steering can be considered rather as a plus: this unit has not yet created problems, while changing the fluid (due to their absence) does not require. And the electric booster is also more resistant to cold weather.

Maintenance and repair

Honda Mobilio Spyke

Today, the Honda Fit is becoming a mass city car, more and more Mobilio compact vans are appearing on the roads, and Airvawe station wagons should soon appear. However, the popularity of the car is not yet a reason for the wide distribution of spare parts for it. Even such a sought-after element as a shock absorber is far from being found everywhere, while it will cost quite a lot: a KYB rear shock absorber will cost from 2200 rubles. (original - 3590 rubles), and the front desk - 3060-3900 rubles. (original - 4950 rubles). Well, the above-mentioned supports of the front struts or rear wheel bearings can really be purchased only on order, which will cost 750 rubles. for a support and 4500 rubles. for the bearing. Of course, body parts are also purchased on order, since even Fit is still a rare guest at auto-disassembly (today this model has been found only in two disassemblies of Irkutsk). Moreover, the original body parts are quite expensive: even the headlight is estimated at almost 6,000 rubles, and the front bumper or driver's door will cost 15,000 and 16,000 rubles. respectively! The only thing that can be found without problems is consumables: candles, filters, oils and liquids.
By the way, about fluids: for many components and assemblies, Honda strongly recommends using only branded fluids. For example, for Fit CVTs, a special HMMF fluid (Honda Multi Matic Fluid, costing from 2145 rubles for a 4-liter jar) is regulated. For cars manufactured before 2003 (when there was no HMMF yet), you can use the branded ATF Honda Z1 (from 2300 rubles per 4 liters). The manual gearbox uses only the Honda MTF (MTF-2). As already mentioned, Honda DPSF is poured into the rear gearbox on all-wheel drive vehicles. And with only antifreeze and motor oil, the Fit owner has some choice. But again, too viscous (with indicators of 50 or 60 after W) or too “liquid” (with an index of 20) oil cannot be poured into engines with variable phases. And the API quality category must be at least SL (today's company requirement for new cars is API-SM).

Hello! In this article, we want to review car " Honda Fit”, inviting a specialist from the Avantage Novokuznetsk auto complex named Mikhail to the conversation. At the end of the post (at the bottom of the article) you will see a video, so if you prefer to listen rather than read, then the video will be useful for you. And for lovers of reading, we will also show important photo car, and together with a specialist we will analyze the technical characteristics of Honda, its engine and gearbox.

Honda Fit: starting the review

Shall we start? Although first a few words about the varieties of Fit models. You know there are Jazz, American Fit, and RHD Fit options, right? So here we are looking at the Honda Fit left-hand drive, the so-called "American". However, in the course of the story, you will learn about the left-handed Fit from the other side: what is it like in comparison with Jazz and its right-handed counterpart.

So, the car was produced in 2006, with a mileage of 150 thousand kilometers. A 1.5-liter Honda L-series engine is installed here. A car with a VTE system, that is, with a valve timing system. By itself, the motor has already passed 150 thousand, and you can see that it is flowing. The engine has oil leaks. They are from under the valve covers, and the crankshaft oil seals are also obviously leaking. In principle, with such a mileage, the indicator is not bad for this brand and model.

The oil is filled with low viscosity 5W20 or 0W20. This motor has a mileage of 150,000, the viscosity of the oil can be slightly raised to 30. There will be no consequences for the engine from this.

Expert opinion about the model

In fact, reviews of the Honda Fit are contradictory: someone admires the car, someone scolds the manufacturer. But Mikhail sees the disadvantages of the car so far only in a very low ground clearance. What we see in the end is that the thresholds are a little beaten, the bumper itself is lowered down, and there are already gaps on the headlights.

The fundamental difference between the American Honda Fit is this: for example, in the Honda Jazz, which was supplied to the European market, and the Japanese Honda Fit, not only the steering wheel arrangement is different, but also the type of transmission. Here is an ordinary hydraulic five-speed automatic. True, it is also a complete set of "Sport". It has paddle shifters, that is, you can switch both in manual mode and fully automatic.

This is a plus in the box design itself, because the same Honda Jazz with a CVT requires more attention, since the oil in it changes more often. The most ideal option is through an engine oil change. For example, you changed the oil in the engine and in the CVT box for a Honda Jazz or Honda Fit right-handed, missed one change ... Well, 20 thousand kilometers, and it’s better to change the oil so that the CVT-type gearbox works longer.

But then there is a minus for the machine, if suddenly something happens to him. In this case, there are no consequences so far with a run of 150,000, the box behaves amazingly, but it will be difficult to find a spare part. The contract option is only from America, the cost will be very high. By itself, the Honda Fit is quite a rare machine. In general, there are still disadvantages, and this is confirmed by various reviews of the owners.

Honda Fit engine: series, device, operation

And we, continuing Honda Fit review, back to the engine, here it is the L15a series. The right-handed Jazz and Fit have the same engine, but it has eight spark plugs, two for each cylinder. Replacing them will be expensive because access to the other four candles is difficult, and as you can see, the space in the engine compartment is rather limited.

The cost of replacing candles is about 1000-1500 rubles. This motor is slightly modernized, there are only four candles, access to them is not so difficult. Candles are also iridium, they change at 60-80 thousand kilometers during normal operation of the car.

The technical characteristics of the Honda Fit should excite any adequate car buyer, so you know, the engine itself here develops good power for a volume of one and a half liters - 120 horsepower. But it is important that when driving in the sport mode of the gearbox in manual shifting, the engine's traction is felt. Consumption for such a small car is exceeded, according to Mikhail. This unit consumes 11 liters, this is the average consumption in the city.

Honda Fit: transmission

As for the gearbox, this item is also no less important than the Honda Fit engine. And our interlocutor advises when buying this car, be sure to check with the previous owner what kind of oil he filled in, because if the oil was poured from a low mileage - for example, 60 thousand km with a viscosity of 5w40, this is not very good. By the way, there is a section on Byzovo.ru, you can take a look. So, Michael wants to warn that thick 5W40 oil will not penetrate and lubricate the internal elements important for the life of the motor so well.

That is, if thick oil was poured into the engine early, then, most likely, the engine will already be offered more than, for example, one that has traveled up to 100 thousand, but with low viscosity oil. Be sure to check with the seller about this.

In this unit, the previous owner did not know that his gearbox was not a variator, and the original "Honda" oil was poured specifically for variator gearboxes.

Take it into service: in the future, you should not completely replace it. Honda is the first of all manufacturers who is categorically against changing the oil in a box completely with flushing. Change the oil according to the manufacturer's recommendation only partially: drained from the sump, poured into the sump, that's it.

Recommended oil from Honda itself for the Double Yu 1 automatic transmission. This is genuine Honda fluid. Other hydraulic fluids should not be used. The machine is specific and loves only "his".

We continue the review of Honda Fit: what is important to know before buying

Look out for engine leaks right away. Here is the engine in oil. Troubleshooting and troubleshooting the leak itself can be quite costly because, as we said, under the hood space is limited.

It even happens that the hand may not crawl at some points, you have to partially untie the engine in order to get to certain elements.

But you can change the air filter yourself without problems. However, you cannot change the light bulb yourself without dismantling the headlight itself. Be prepared for this. As on most modern cars - only through the removal and installation of the headlight. Like Ford love to do, Mazda.

For technical fluids - use only original oils. In the engine, you can use an oil similar in consistency and composition from another manufacturer, but only Honda is better in the box. Don't take risks. You can also choose oils from us at Byzovo.ru even at discount prices.

Photo review Honda Fit

Well, the technical characteristics of the Honda Fit are good, but it would not hurt to know the interior of the car, as well as the behavior of the car on the road. The car behaves well in the city, but because of the low ground clearance, you can peel off the paint.

The interior is quite spacious for such a car. There is more space in the back than in the Corolla. Here is Mikhail of a large build, but he sits here calmly and freely, three of the same build will, of course, be cramped, but the two of them will be fine. The knees do not rest, you can even lie down. See photo.

The trunk for this type of car is not that big, but for music lovers there is enough space to put a subwoofer, and moreover, a sack of potatoes will fit!

In this version of the sport, the wheels of their size are 195 by 55 radius 15th. True, on the specimen in question, they saved money on rubber: the summer one is the right size, the winter one was ordinary. Conclusion: all fenders worn out.

Please note: the fender liner in this form from the "Honda Jazz" or from the "Honda Fit" of a similar right-handed European version is unlikely to fit. In general, all body elements are different, that is, in the body question it is also an expensive car, as in the issue with the gearbox.

But the chassis is strong enough for this car. In terms of safety, it is well equipped with airbags. That is, there are in the steering wheel, and in the front passenger, and side ones - this is a big plus. Everything is as it should be. The car is good in this regard.

Look, in the glass blowing mode, the air conditioner will always be on. Even if we turn it off, it will still work when the temperature mode is selected - so that the windshield fogs up faster.

Honda Fit Review: Gearbox Check

The hydraulic gearbox that is on this unit can be checked in the usual way to at least see the normal speed and whether the hydraulics in the box itself are working normally.

What will we do for this? We put the parking mode in D mode, hold the brake with the left foot, press the gas with the right foot until it stops. The procedure should be carried out no longer than 5 seconds. Otherwise, the box can be damaged.

We press the gas to the floor, 2200 rpm is the average value for a normally functioning automatic gearbox. If the revolutions differ from this figure up or down, then there may be problems with the gearbox in the future.

Here we see that it works properly. This is the simplest and cheapest verification option. And in this video you can see with your own eyes all of the above Honda Fit and at the same time really see Michael check the sport mode, gear shifting and ABS operation.

The Honda Fit/Jazz compact car became the brand's youngest model and fellow Honda Civic. Engines for the Honda Fit are the same as on other class B models, in particular, a modest set of power units with a volume of 1.2 to 1.5 liters. The engines belong to the L series and are designated 12,13 and 15. All Honda Fit / Jazz engines are reliable and have virtually no flaws.

Engine Honda L13 1.33 l

The L13A power unit was specially developed in 2001 for the Honda Fit model. In the lineup, the motor replaced the D13 and D14 series.

The cylinder block in the L13 is made of aluminum with thin liners. The motor has a long stroke and an 80 mm crankshaft with a cylinder diameter of 73 mm and a displacement of 1.33L.

Different cylinder heads were installed: SOHC i-DSI for 8 valves, i-VTEC for 16 valves and DOHC for 16 valves.

The timing chain drive is quite durable and does not cause trouble. Valve adjustment must be done every 45 thousand kilometers.

There were no weak points in the Honda L13 1.33 l engine. Of the features of the service, the replacement of all candles, and not just four, is noted.

High-quality consumables will help extend the life of the engine. 5-

Honda L15 1.5L engine

The L15 unit for the Fit model in its power line became the most voluminous and replaced the popular D15 engine, which had a greater length and width.

The engine uses a 220mm high aluminum BC, long stroke crankshaft, 149mm connecting rods and 26.15mm piston compression height. Such parameters made it possible to expand the volume of the engine to 1.5 liters.

The BC is covered with a VTEC head for 16 valves, which is included in the work from 3400 rpm. The long intake manifold is designed for low and medium speeds. The timing chain drive will not cause trouble during the entire period of operation.

There are options for the Honda L15 1.5 liter cylinder head with pairs of valves per cylinder, which saves fuel and reduces harmful emissions. Valve clearances need to be adjusted every 45 thousand kilometers.

On modifications of the L15 engine in the i-DSI version, all candles must be replaced, not half. When using high-quality consumables, this engine has no drawbacks and is able to serve many hundreds of thousands of kilometers. 5-

On the streets of large cities, minor accidents, the affected part of the cars in which the side mirrors are, are not uncommon.

Who will be found guilty in such an incident will depend on a large number of factors that are worth considering in more detail.

Collision in a narrow place. When creating a situation where one car stopped in a narrow place in front of the fork due to difficult traffic, and the second one continued to move and hit the first one with a side mirror, the fault will lie with the driver of the car continuing to move.

According to paragraph 10.1 of the SDA, when a danger is detected, the person driving is obliged to take all possible measures to reduce the speed of the car, up to a complete stop.

Road with dividing markings. When “meeting” with mirrors on the road, which has a dividing line, it will also not be difficult to determine who is to blame. They will definitely be recognized by the driver whose car at the time of the collision was located to a greater extent in the oncoming traffic lane. At the same time, it doesn’t matter at all for what purpose he drove there - bypassing cars that were parked on the right, the presence of an open hatch on the road, or a child suddenly running out onto the road - he will be guilty, in any case.

The absence of a marking line on the road to separate the lanes. In another variation of the situation described above, when there is no marked line of road markings where the cars collided with mirrors, the solution may be as follows. Participants in an accident or police officers are forced to measure the width of the roadway in this place and divide the data in half.

According to the information contained in clause 9.1 of the SDA, the side intended for driving in the oncoming lane on the road where there is no dividing lane is half the carriageway on the left. Therefore, in this case, the one who, to a greater extent, turned out to be driven beyond the conditional line of the oncoming lane, will be recognized as guilty.

If the results of the measurements are absolutely the same, then both drivers of the colliding vehicles will be found guilty in this situation.

Collision in the middle of the road. In that rare case, when the mirrors of cars collided exactly in the middle of the road, directly above the dividing line, despite the fact that each of them moves along the intended lane, the situation develops in a similar way. In this case, the traffic police will also be guided by clause 10.1 of the SDA, since the driver who has discovered the danger is obliged to take all required measures to avoid a collision and create an emergency by slowing down or even stopping. There is no other development of events in the SDA.

Outcome. Depending on the circumstances under which the accident occurred, as a result of which the side mirrors were damaged on one or both cars, a decision is made as to who should compensate the damage caused to the cars. In this case, the traffic police officers injured and called to the collision site should be guided not only by the current version of the traffic rules, but also by the Code of Administrative Offenses. Subject to all the rules, and the correct execution of an accident in accordance with current legislation, everything will be quite clean and transparent.

Repairing a diesel engine is one of the most difficult types of automotive repair. For diagnostics, special scanners can be used, the connection of which allows you to determine the breakdown code. Experienced car mechanics of the FitService company thoroughly know the structure of motors of different car brands and understand the reasons for their failure. Many years of experience has allowed us to develop effective methods for finding the real causes of a malfunction.

What does engine diagnostics mean?

Diagnosis is a multi-stage process. Only a sequence of necessary actions that are urgent and mandatory can lead to a result. In addition to computer diagnostics of the engine, a set of measures includes such actions.

1.Compression rating. If the compression spread across the cylinders exceeds 5 bar, the engine can be considered faulty. Compressors are used to measure this level.

2.Measuring the volume of crankcase gases. The technique does not involve the use of special equipment. After opening the oil filler cap or disconnecting the ventilation hose, the specialist observes the intensity of the release of gases. The simplicity of this method is only apparent. Everything in this case depends on the experience of the mechanic.

3.Study of cylinders and the state of the combustion chamber. This type of diagnosis is carried out using visual control devices.

4.Checking the integrity of the cylinders. There are special devices for measuring leaks. The principle of their action is as follows. Air is supplied to the nozzle simulator under pressure. In this case, the piston moves to the top point. In this position, measurements are taken.

It is the identification of the fault location that is the task of diagnostics. Assessing the general condition of the car, the specialist will find it more efficiently and quickly. And the possibility and cost of repair depends on the correctness of the diagnosis.

Signs and Common Causes of Engine Failure

Specialists of car services "FitService" carry out repairs of any complexity. But much depends on how timely the owner asked for help. Oddly enough, not all motorists understand this. It is worth remembering that you need to go to a car service urgently in such cases.

1.Difficulty starting the engine. The cause of such a failure may be a malfunction of the preheating system, airing the system, or a decrease in compression. If the engine warms up normally, then most likely the reason is the wear of the plunger pair in the injection pump.

2.Engine smoke. The sudden appearance of black smoke indicates the failure of nozzles, turbines or air filters. An early injection angle can also be such a reason. blue and white smokereleased in the event of a fuel pump malfunction or a late injection angle.

3.Power reduction. If you feel a decrease in power levels, you can be sure that this happened due to malfunctioning parts of the fuel system. The failure of the injection pump can also cause this.

Early contacting a car service guarantees a reduction in repair costs and its speed. Technical equipment and extensive experience in repairs allows you to quickly identify breakdowns at the early stages.
