Asian cars in Russia are in some demand due to a combination of reliability and low prices. Daewoo Matiz is one of the most sought after: good technical characteristics, reliability and a modest price tag have made it quite popular. In 1997, Daewoo in South Korea released the Daewoo Matiz (Due Matiz), which continues to be created to this day. The company itself was closed by the government in 1999, and in 2001 it was bought by the General Motors corporation, which retained the name of the division.

On average, Due Matiz consumes about 6-7 liters for every 100 km of road, in the city - more, outside the city - a little less. But determining whether it is economical or not is quite difficult, since the opinions of the owners are divided into 2 parts:
- A consumption of 7 liters for the city and standing in traffic jams is not much, and outside the city, consumption can “fall” up to 5 liters;
- Daewoo Matiz is a small car, and therefore it “eats” too much for its size.
Also, many owners are faced with the problem of increased consumption - the car can "eat" up to 10-12 liters per 100 km. In this case, it is recommended to check and replace all filters, candles and oil, washing well before that.

Owners of cars with this engine note an interesting sound of work - a three-cylinder unit works by ear like a motorcycle. Although the developed power seems small, it is quite enough to give a light (less than a ton) car decent dynamics.
The BC in the F8CV is made of cast iron, and the cylinder head, as already mentioned, is aluminum. There are two valves for each of the three cylinders. The camshaft has an upper placement and is located in the cylinder head bed.
The gas distribution mechanism is driven by a belt.
Important: the belt replacement schedule is after 40 thousand km. run. If it is not changed, a break is likely, which will lead to bending of the valves, failure of the cylinder-piston group and expensive overhaul.
The crankshaft rests on four bearings in the cylinder block. It tends to wear out, to return the characteristics it is allowed to grind it with the installation of repair kits for liners of the appropriate size.
The liners of the cylinder block also wear out, their boring is allowed. If this is not possible, a re-sleeving or replacement of the cylinder block is done. Worn pistons (or new ones, for bored liners) are replaced with new ones of the appropriate size, repair kits are widely available.

Quite often there is such a malfunction as floating speed and malfunctions of the unit. Usually they are associated with a failed throttle position sensor that needs to be replaced.
Maintenance and repair
It is mandatory to change the oil periodically. For a Daewoo Matiz equipped with this unit, the engine oil volume is 2.7 liters. Synthetic oil with a viscosity of 5W-30 is used. The scheduled replacement interval is 10 thousand km. run.

Interesting: the motor is an artificially weakened engine from the Chevrolet Aveo. Deforcing was done by reducing the piston stroke - other pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft were installed.
Main characteristics:
Like its less cubic counterpart, the engine is cast iron, and the cylinder head is made of aluminum. The engine capacity of the Daewoo Matiz B10S1 is higher, it has a different number of cylinders and valves, a different cylinder-piston group and timing, which made it possible to remove from it the power increased to 63-64 forces. The installation of this engine made Matiz faster and more dynamic.
A set of typical malfunctions and routine operations is generally similar to a 0.8 liter unit. An oil change will require 3.2 liters. synthetic fluid with a viscosity of 5W-30.
Change of oil
To change the oil in a Daewoo Matiz engine, you will need:

Engine tuning Matiz
Tuning lends itself well to a 1.0 liter engine. It is important to understand what the Daewoo Matiz B10S1 engine consists of: it is, in fact, a derated unit from the Chevrolet Aveo, in the original configuration it has a volume of 1.2 liters. If desired, the motor can be forced back by simply installing the piston group from Aveo, thereby returning the characteristics to the engine.
Other upgrade options:
- tuning camshaft;
- flashing the ECU;
- installation of a split gear;

But again, you should not demand more from him than he can give, because this is a small compact city transport. There is good news - if necessary, you can fold the rear seats and increase the free space up to 480 liters, which is already a lot. Only a couple of passengers can fit on the back "sofa", but the third one will be extremely uncomfortable.
It may surprise you a little, but even a driver who is 185 cm tall will not rest his head on the ceiling and will not feel discomfort from the steering wheel touching his knees. However, the driver and the passenger sitting next to each other can touch each other with their shoulders, and behind a rather big driver or passenger, there is even less free space on the back sofa.

The volume of the petrol tank is 35 liters. Although the technical equipment is not excellent, but thanks to the front-wheel drive layout, the car feels quite confident.
Transmission
The Daewoo power unit is synchronized with a pair of gearboxes - automatic and manual. Sometimes a mechanical 5-speed gearbox can “think” for a long time or produce small jerks, but as usual, the characteristics of Matiz do not cause dissatisfaction among car owners.
Quite often, drivers are not satisfied with the performance of the transmission. You can solve the problem by changing the oil in it. It will be best if you choose synthetic oil, then the change of gears will be easier.
Suspension
The suspension is stiff, and the ground clearance is not very high, which does not contribute to a comfortable ride on bad sections of the roads of our country.
