But if at least one of the indicators starts to bitter or blink, this indicates a possible malfunction of the equipment or mechanism. So, for what characteristics the devices are responsible, consider the description from left to right:

  1. The light bulb, located at the bottom left, reports the operation of the air damper. Only vehicles with a carburetor engine are equipped with this indicator.
  2. LED in the form of an oiler. When connecting and turning the ignition key, the diode always lights up. If the lamp appeared while the engine was running, this indicates that the pressure of the engine fluid in the system is too low. Sometimes this may be due to a consumable leak. Before you continue driving, it is advisable to fix the problem yourself or drive to the nearest service station.
  3. Symbol with the letter R inside. This is a sign of a handbrake, it lights up only when the lever is on.
  4. The next symbol is a breakdown associated with the operation of the battery or generator. This may be an insufficient battery charge, wiring problems (opens or shorts), or a loose or broken alternator strap. One way or another, the problem also needs to be solved.
  5. The Check Engine lamp is the most unpleasant option for a car enthusiast. When the engine is on, this symbol indicates a breakdown in the operation of the power unit. According to experts, when this icon appears, it is best to stop the car, turn off the engine and diagnose the units and components of the vehicle.
  6. On the above symbol is a red triangle. This lamp appears when the light alarm or "emergency gang" is working.
  7. The headlight on icon indicates the operation of high-beam lamps - it lights up in order to notify the driver about the operation of the optics. If another car is moving towards you while driving, it is advisable to turn off this lamp.
  8. The next sign in a red circle signals to the motorist that there is insufficient brake fluid in the system. There is a possibility that there is a leak in the system. Driving with a low brake fluid level is very dangerous, so this problem must be solved as soon as possible.
  9. If the symbol of a burning light bulb is lit on the tidy, this indicates the operation of the parking lights.
  10. Among other things, the control panel is also equipped with a time indicator, as well as a key for adjusting this parameter. It has a display that shows the car's mileage - both total and daily. If you have a "ten" with a new type of control panel, then this screen may be narrow.

Additional panel


The additional panel is located on the dashboard, in the middle of the center console:

  1. Butter dish. If this light is on, the driver needs to check the engine fluid level.

Removal and modification guide

The author of the video - proVAZ-2110 - planned to tune it in such a way that the color of the speedometer and other sensors was white, but he did not take into account that the plastic on the tidy was originally yellow. Accordingly, the final result of the author of the video was not pleased.

Often, motorists decide to do something to improve the appearance in the car. To do this, you can simply remove the panel trim and simply remove the regular lamps. By installing LEDs instead. Such a control panel will increase the brightness of the indicators. If necessary, you can install a more modern europanel, which will allow you to transform the interior of the "dozens". If you want to tune just the control panel, you can install a new overlay on it.

This will require:

  1. First, de-energize the car's on-board network. To do this, disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
  2. Further, it is dismantled, for this all the necessary bolts are unscrewed.
  3. The next step is to remove the control panel mounts to the overlay. Having done this, you can remove the control panel itself from the socket. After these steps, you can dismantle the glass mask.
  4. Then all the pads that lead to the shield are turned off.
  5. Now a new pad is being installed on 2110. If necessary, install LEDs instead of ordinary light bulbs. Further assembly is carried out in the reverse order.

Always be careful when working with electrics. If you damage at least one wire when removing or installing the dashboard, this can lead to sad consequences, up to non-working devices on the dashboard. For example, often the owners of "tens" are faced with the problem of the speedometer not working, which is usually associated with wiring. Instrument combination. All control devices of the car are united in a combination of devices. It includes: electronic speedometer and tachometer, coolant temperature gauge, fuel gauge and 12 warning lights. The instrument cluster is fixed in the instrument panel socket with two screws.

The connections of the instrument cluster are made by printed wiring on a foil-coated getinax board. The board is fixed on the back side of the case. The speedometer has two counters of the distance traveled: one is total, and the second is “daily”. The readings of the daily counter can be set to zero by the button located on the instrument cluster itself. The daily counter can only be reset when the vehicle is stationary.

An electronic instrument cluster can be installed on some of the manufactured cars. It contains the same instruments and indicator lamps as the conventional instrument cluster. You can check the instrument cluster only on a stand in a specialized workshop. The instrument cluster is not repairable.

Display unit of the onboard control system. The unit contains an electronic control circuit with a sound signaling device and 10 LED signaling devices: insufficient oil level, insufficient coolant level, insufficient washer fluid level, faulty exterior lighting lamps, seat belts not fastened, front brake pad wear, and four door open signaling devices. Special devices can be used to correct the odometer, but they are often specialized and not available to most. As an alternative to these devices, you can implement the correction of mileage readings by following the following recommendations.

The odometer is actually a pulse counter powered by a speed sensor. If a certain frequency is observed and applied to the terminals of the instrument panel combination, the odometer readings can be corrected.

In particular, a pulse with a frequency of 200Hz corresponds to a car speed of 120km/h. The increase in the frequency of the pulses is not linear, so at a frequency of 2500 Hz, the speed will be 1120 km, while the speedometer needle will simply show the maximum speed.

The pulses supplied to the output (terminal 9 of the red block, see the figure below) of the instrument panel combination for mileage correction must be rectangular. The easiest way to implement pulse generation is through a computer sound card, that is, actually feeding sound from the computer output to the instrument cluster, while limiting the sound to a minimum and not using amplifiers in order to prevent a high signal level. Subsequently, raise the sound level until the instrument panel starts counting the kilometer, that is, the odometer correction begins. For the formation of impulses, it is better to use the program, it can be downloaded from any radio site on the Internet. In addition, a necessary requirement is the power during the correction of the odometer mileage and the instrument cluster itself. As a result, observing all the above requirements, make connections according to the following scheme.

The KT3102 transistor can be replaced with any high-frequency transistor with a similar structure, for example KT315.

The first connector contains blue and red wires, they go to the external temperature sensor. As for the thirteenth number, here the white wire leads to the ignition switch.

Faults and repairs

Instruments or indicators may fail. It can be part of the indicators or even the entire speedometer. You just need to remove it and carefully peel off the film from its screen (it is better to pry it off with a clerical knife). Everything on this odometer color change is over. We can put it back. But the photo shows how he began to show white numbers on a dark blue screen.

You can also clear the arrows of the red color, as we did. Coated them with white varnish.

Now we connect the LED strip. It can be thrown directly to the standard backlight cartridge. In our case, we took a strip with green LEDs. Also, red and blue do not look bad, here it’s an amateur.

It is possible to implement two methods of backlighting the dashboard at the same time. In our case, when the side lights are turned on, the blue backlight of the dashboard lights up, if the brightness is reduced through the rheostat, then only the standard one will remain.
