The rear looks simpler than the front, with smoother details. Narrow oval headlights, smooth trunk and bumper. By the way, two exhaust pipes are beautifully inserted into the bumper. In the middle at the bottom is an LED brake light repeater. There is a retractable spoiler on the trunk lid.

The unit installed in this car was developed by Mercedes-Benz and therefore its characteristics are at the level. This is a gasoline naturally aspirated V-shaped engine with 8 cylinders, which, with a volume of 6.2 liters, produces 571 horsepower. 4 valves are installed on one cylinder and as a result the engine is 32 valves.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG motor transmits everything only to the rear wheels and works together with a 7-speed, equipped with 2 clutches, this improves the car's acceleration and also reduces fuel consumption, which is 13 liters per hundred kilometers.
Thanks to all this, the car accelerates to hundreds in 3.8 seconds, and its top speed is 320 km/h. The engine is complex, because of this it emits few harmful substances into the environment and is very environmentally friendly.
The coupe stops with the help of ceramic disc brakes, which do their job perfectly. The car has a small braking distance even if it was initially at a high speed. Since this is a sports car, it must be chic to drive, and the engineers took care of that. It uses aluminum independent suspension with double wishbones front and rear, which allows the model to feel good on the road.
Interior
Inside the car, the driver's seat is completely made in the style of the company, but then the style is a bit unusual for fans.
The steering wheel is made, as in all cars of the company, the center console has a slightly different look. Between the two air deflectors, which look like aircraft turbines, there is a monitor that displays information about the multimedia system and the navigation system. Inside, the driver and passenger can enjoy the beautiful Bang & Olufsen audio system, which will give a chic sound, so that music lovers will be satisfied.
Next is the audio and navigation control unit, which can also be controlled by voice. The block is not small, which indicates the breadth of tinctures. Next, we have a beautiful climate control unit, which is a small display, two so-called knobs and buttons. The tunnel received a small gear selector, a multimedia system control washer, an engine start button, ESP off and AMG mode on.
The salon was created only for two passengers, but they will feel comfortable in this car, and during a dynamic ride they will not fly out of their seats, since the lateral support is just excellent. Here, of course, there is a luggage compartment, it is located at the back, but it is unlikely that anyone is interested in this at all. Nevertheless, if there are such people, then here's a figure for you - 176 liters. This is not enough, but in principle it is large here and is not needed.
Price
Now the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG has already been discontinued, but at that time it cost a minimum of $ 390,000, which at that time was 11 500 000 rubles. At least in our country, this model was sold for just such a bag.

The total power is 429 horsepower. Those who don’t have enough will have to wait for the AMG GT four-door model, which will get a four-liter V8 biturbo engine with at least 600 horsepower.

Questions on the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class 2018 in the new body are not caused except by the wide grille in the style of the AMG GT supercar and, of course, the incredibly chic interior. True, he is already familiar with the new E-Class W213 and the restyled one, but he really looks amazing.
Inside, the car meets with high-quality materials, 64-color atmospheric diode lighting, a modern steering wheel with touch panels, cool ventilation nozzles made in the style of aircraft turbines, as well as two huge 12.3-inch monitors on the front panel under a common visor.
In addition, for the first time for this model, a sofa for three passengers became available at the rear - before only two could accommodate there, and the front seats were designed specifically for the new Mercedes-Benz CLS (C257). The new body made it possible to reduce the drag coefficient to 0.26.
Specifications
With the change of generation, the sedan was rebased on the MRA modular platform with a double wishbone suspension in front and a five-link rear suspension. The wheelbase (2,393 mm) is the same as on the “yeshka”, but the total length is slightly larger due to the increased overhangs. In the base, the new Mercedes CLS 2019 comes with a conventional spring suspension, and as an alternative to it, Dynamic Body Control with adaptive dampers (three modes of operation: Comfort, Sport and Sport +) and pneumatic Air Body Control are offered for a surcharge.
Six powertrains are provided for the car, but at first only three of them will be available - all with a proprietary 4MATIC all-wheel drive system and a nine-speed automatic. Engines - petrol and diesel “fours” and new in-line “sixes”, V8 engines are now only for modifications from AMG.
The diesel versions of the CLS 350 d and 400 d are equipped with 2.9-liter "sixes" with a capacity of 286 hp. (600 Nm) and 340 hp (700 Nm). They provide models with acceleration from zero to hundreds in 5.7 and 5.0 seconds, respectively. Under the hood of the petrol CLS 450 4MATIC, there is a 367-horsepower (500 Nm) M256 unit, supplemented by an EQ Boost system (4.7 seconds to hundreds).
The latter includes a 48-volt starter-generator, powered by its own lithium-ion battery, and allows for a short-term increase in output by 22 hp. and 250 Nm. The electric motor helps at the start and in a number of other cases when it is necessary, and during braking it recovers energy to recharge its battery.
The same superstructure (except with a slightly more modest 14-horsepower and 150 Nm engine) is also provided for the CLS 350 version with the new two-liter “four” of the M264 series (with two turbochargers), which produces 299 hp. and 400 Nm. From 0 to 100 km / h, this option travels in 6.2 seconds, the maximum speed is limited to two hundred and fifty.
What is the price
The price of the new Mercedes-Benz CLS-Klasse in Russia starts from 4,950,000 rubles for the basic diesel modification in the Elegance configuration (surcharge for the Sport version is 250,000 rubles), and the more powerful 400d version costs at least 5,610,000 rubles. The petrol version starts at 5,100,000 r (CLS 350), while for the 450th they ask from 5,660,000 r, and the “warmed up” CLS 53 costs at least 6,400,000.
In the first year, customers have access to a special version of Edition 1 with an exclusive body color, an AMG Line package in the base, 20-inch wheels, LED head optics, a special interior trim and an IWC analog clock on the center console.
The four-door equipment includes a Pre-Safe security system with adaptive cruise control that can independently drive a car within one lane (although hands must be kept on the steering wheel), stop and move off when driving in a traffic jam and prevent accidents when passing through intersections.
At the motor show in Los Angeles 2017, the presentation of the 3rd generation Mercedes-Benz CLS four-door coupe took place, the mass production of which will start at the end of December 2017.
European dealers of the brand will have the first cars in March 2018, but the four-door will reach Russia in the summer.
Exterior
Mercedes-Benz CLS 2018-2019 model year became the first representative of the brand made in a new corporate style. The chief designer of the company, Gorden Wagener, worked on the appearance of the new model. He and his team of specialists tried to slightly simplify the appearance of the CLS, while maintaining and emphasizing the main advantages of a four-door coupe.
As a result, outwardly, the Mercedes CLS in the new C257 body has indeed become somewhat simpler, but it cannot be said that the car is now perceived differently. In general, the simplifications only benefited the model, and this is especially noticeable in its “muzzle”.
With the change of generation, the CLS-Klasse four-door coupe received a new bumper with a pronounced splitter and stylish air intake sections. The latter here have two horizontal bars. It would seem an insignificant element, but without them, the front end noticeably loses in aggression.
Plus, the car received a different grille, which has a slightly different shape and a different pattern. In its center, as before, there is a large emblem of the brand, from which horizontal “wings-planks” diverge to the sides. As for the headlights of the new Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class 2018, they received a triangular shape.
The rear lights of the third-generation four-door are two-section. Due to this decision, the feed of the new model looks more sophisticated and harmonious. In turn, this was reflected in practicality: access to the trunk has become somewhat easier. All these changes ensured high aerodynamic characteristics - the drag coefficient is 0.26.

The petrol Mercedes-Benz CLS 450 is powered by a new 3.0-litre M 256 engine with an EQ Boost starter-alternator. Such an engine develops 367 hp. and 500 Nm, while the electric motor can temporarily add another 20 forces and 250 Nm of thrust. Also, the starter-generator is able to start a muffled engine and store energy in the recovery mode.
As for the dynamic characteristics, the top-end version accelerates from zero to a hundred in 4.7 seconds, and the diesel modifications 350 d and 450 d need 5.7 and 5.0 seconds, respectively, to take this bar.
All engines work in conjunction with a nine-band automatic, plus the car already comes with a proprietary 4MATIC all-wheel drive system in the base. In the future, the Germans will expand the range of available units through the use of four-cylinder engines, but the V8 version, as well as the Shooting Brake station wagon, will no longer be in the new CLS.
