This is a gasoline naturally aspirated V-shaped engine with 8 cylinders, which, with a volume of 6.2 liters, produces 571 horsepower. 4 valves are installed on one cylinder and as a result the engine is 32 valves.


The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG motor transmits everything only to the rear wheels and works together with a 7-speed, equipped with 2 clutches, this improves the car's acceleration and also reduces fuel consumption, which is 13 liters per hundred kilometers.


Thanks to all this, the car accelerates to hundreds in 3.8 seconds, and its top speed is 320 km/h. The engine is complex, because of this it emits few harmful substances into the environment and is very environmentally friendly.

The salon was created only for two passengers, but they will feel comfortable in this car, and during a dynamic ride they will not fly out of their seats, since the lateral support is just excellent. Here, of course, there is a luggage compartment, it is located at the back, but it is unlikely that anyone is interested in this at all. Nevertheless, if there are such people, then here's a figure for you - 176 liters. This is not enough, but in principle it is large here and is not needed.

Now the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG has already been discontinued, but at that time it cost a minimum of $ 390,000, which at that time was 11 500 000 rubles. At least in our country, this model was sold for just such a bag.

They provide models with acceleration from zero to hundreds in 5.7 and 5.0 seconds, respectively. Under the hood of the petrol CLS 450 4MATIC, there is a 367-horsepower (500 Nm) M256 unit, supplemented by an EQ Boost system (4.7 seconds to hundreds).

The latter includes a 48-volt starter-generator, powered by its own lithium-ion battery, and allows for a short-term increase in output by 22 hp. and 250 Nm. The electric motor helps at the start and in a number of other cases when it is necessary, and during braking it recovers energy to recharge its battery.

The same superstructure (except with a slightly more modest 14-horsepower and 150 Nm engine) is also provided for the CLS 350 version with the new two-liter “four” of the M264 series (with two turbochargers), which produces 299 hp. and 400 Nm. From 0 to 100 km / h, this option travels in 6.2 seconds, the maximum speed is limited to two hundred and fifty.

What is the price

The price of the new Mercedes-Benz CLS-Klasse in Russia starts from 4,950,000 rubles for the basic diesel modification in the Elegance configuration (surcharge for the Sport version is 250,000 rubles), and the more powerful 400d version costs at least 5,610,000 rubles. The petrol version starts at 5,100,000 r (CLS 350), while for the 450th they ask from 5,660,000 r, and the “warmed up” CLS 53 costs at least 6,400,000.

In the first year, customers have access to a special version of Edition 1 with an exclusive body color, an AMG Line package in the base, 20-inch wheels, LED head optics, a special interior trim and an IWC analog clock on the center console.

Such an engine develops 367 hp. and 500 Nm, while the electric motor can temporarily add another 20 forces and 250 Nm of thrust. Also, the starter-generator is able to start a muffled engine and store energy in the recovery mode.

As for the dynamic characteristics, the top-end version accelerates from zero to a hundred in 4.7 seconds, and the diesel modifications 350 d and 450 d need 5.7 and 5.0 seconds, respectively, to take this bar.

All engines work in conjunction with a nine-band automatic, plus the car already comes with a proprietary 4MATIC all-wheel drive system in the base. In the future, the Germans will expand the range of available units through the use of four-cylinder engines, but the V8 version, as well as the Shooting Brake station wagon, will no longer be in the new CLS.
